Subject: Why can't Cocoon find my producer class?

I have a custom Producer class that I wrote for Cocoon 1.7.4 that I'm using
with Tomcat but whenver I access Cocoon.xml it reports that it couldn't find
my class.

I've put my class in my contexts WEB-INF/classes

and I've tried putting it outside of here and adding
the path to the classpath on the command line.

What gives? Where does Cocoon look for it's custom Producers?

Hi

u can go for this also.

Have a HashTable(Key,myclassobj) instead of Vector.
Put this Hashtable in session in the current page.
Then u click on the link just pass just the key.
In the next page access the key,get the Hashtable from the session , loop
thru the Hashtable keys to find the one which matches with passed key.
Retrieve that object.
And access the methods in the object

Hope this helps.
Bye

Hello,
I have a jsp page and I want to call some validation beans from it.
for the setup I have modified the weblogic.properties file to specify my
document root as public_html under which i have the htdocs directory where
the jsp and html files reside. The bean are placed in the
public_html/classes/beans directory

my jsp file looks something like this

<%@ page language="java" import="com.ixl.dca.ccms.*" %>

<%
  if (auth.allowedUser
(request.getParameter("user"),request.getParameter("password"))
  {
%>

and the java file which is in the public_html/classes/beans directory is

package beans;
import java.sql.*;

   public class Authenticate extends HttpServlet
   {
   public Authenticate()
   {
   // constructor for the bean
   }

when I try to run this i get the

classnotfoundexception in the jsp page

can some one please tell me why..

thanks

I tried using environment variables because the webserver that hosts my
website doesn't feature servlets yet. But I have not succeeded. It seems
that by deprecating the getenv() calls and suggesting property files, SUN
wants to prevent the usage of environment variables completely: either type
it in a property file or specify it as commandline parameters.

As I said: I have not found a solution.

Hans,

I am actually trying to access them from a Java Console app compiled
to an .exe and run as a CGI in IIS. - Dont ask why?! :)
(servlets or JSP are not an option for us right now ... but will be in the
future!!)

I think that I may need to read the System.in and parse it in a similar
way to a Perl program does ... however I think I still need CONTENT_LENGTH
in
order to do the read successfully.

Anyone done anything like this before??

Perhaps my question is best suited to a Java forum ...

Thanks
Jonathan

Look at the Servlet API, .
It contains explicit methods to get all info you get through environment
variables in a GCI script. Since a JSP page is actually a servlet, you
can use the complete Servlet API in your JSP pages.
