That JDBC driver is working only woth MS SQL Server 2000. You
probably looking for JDBC driver for earlier MS SQL Server versions.

There is not free JDBC driver, at least not to my knowlwdge. There
is a couple of commercial drivers available.

Re: SQL Server driver

2000-02-18 Thread Simon Lee

There is a new PooledConnection interfaced added in JDBC 2.0 API. However,
one must use a DataSource object rather than the DriverManager class to get
a connection. Furthermore, any DataSource object(which might supports
connection pooling) should register with a JNDI service provider.

I am quite sure connection pooling has been already implemented as part
of the JDBC API. That a look at the documentation or a reference book,
just like Java Enterprise in a Nutshell, from OReilly.

Well, not wanting to use the jdbc-odbc bridge, I'm also interested on
that.
Moreover, anybody knows what's the status of JDBC 2, which was supposed
to
  implement connection pooling?

Well, not wanting to use the jdbc-odbc bridge, I'm also interested on that.
Moreover, anybody knows what's the status of JDBC 2, which was supposed to
 implement connection pooling?

Use that JDBC-ODBC bridge thing? Take a look at the documentation.

Re: SQL Server driver

2000-02-15 Thread Jim Michael

There is a list of JDBC driver vendors at
http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/drivers.html. i-Net Software has a type 4
driver for SQL Server that is very reasonably priced, as middleware goes. We
are just beginning to test it, so I can't give any opinions. HTH.

Cheers,

Jim
