Re: how to maintain state?
hi namitha, The best way to keep the user related information is to store into the session object and retrive it whenever it is required. hope this helps, with regards, rathna. And maybe a less good one : the size of the html will be bigger and the download time will be higher. And it could be used to stored data form one page to another not on all the session. Re: how to maintain state?
you're mostly right. But when server load is too high, it is too expensive to store everything in session object. It may be better to store noncritical state data in hidden fields, so users can contribute to the situation :) -Original Message- From: Bernard Granier [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2001 3:53 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: how to maintain state? Try cookiesthey do an excellent job..with low overhead. Technique is to place multiple values of variables into a single cookie. see Flanagan's Javascript, the Definitive Guide for the implementation. -Original Message- From: A mailing list about Java Server Pages specification and reference [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Bernard Granier Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2001 8:53 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: how to maintain state?
