Re: dependency branches for 1.21

In general, let's please move toward using gopkg.in to maintain stable APIs.
Then we should be able to use the latest version of all dependencies
without thinking too much, and there will always be a branch available
for backported changes.

Interesting. It seems that the line reported for a defer has changed in 1.4.

That said, I'm not really sure why that test needs to use defer. The
functionality being tested doesn't rely on defer at all.
