Re: [JPP-Devel] Subversion Time-Lapse View

Hi Eric - Interesting ideas! I was just going to leave it as a simple tool.
I agree with you that Eclipse has a great diff view. Perhaps someone can
take what I've done and use it as the start of an Eclipse plugin.

SVN Time-Lapse View
http://code.google.com/p/svn-time-lapse-view/

Lets you examine the history of a file by dragging a slider. Diffs are
highlighted in blue. If you want to know who changed a line, when, and for
what reason, this is useful.

For example, try it with

/vividsolutions/jump/workbench/JUMPWorkbench.java

 Hi Stefan,

late your letter, even if Erwan already define the
 SIGLE project:

Cut polygon by SIGLE (Erwan's) provides an easy way to
cut a polygon, using a sort of negative polygon
 tool.
This works fine if people need to create many
islands inside a big polygon area
 A couple of examples:

 1) I have to define a lava field with many vulcanic
 small cones

 2) I have to define inside an omogeneous forest of oak
trees small population of other plant varieties

Using Erwan's plugin would be much more easy.

Of coarse, Th OJ embedded cut polygon is useful in
other situation, like dividing a large area.

[JPP-Devel] WMS changes

Andreas,

I saw you just made a change to the WMS plug-in, I created a copy of
this plugin as a Wizard to fit in with my new open wizard. So I'll need
to make the change there too.

One thing I can do is to change the actual plug-in itself to use the WMS
wizard instead of duplicating code. Would you have any objections if I
did that?

Thanks,

Re: [JPP-Devel] Styles

2007-10-19 Thread Andreas Schmitz
Paul Austin wrote:

Hi,

I've been thinking about the styling of layers again in OpenJUMP. The
mechanism we have now is very flexible and allows us to do some really
 fancy styling fairly easy.

The only problem I have with it is that if you want to support multiple
styles per layer aka colour theming style of my filter style it renders
each feature twice, once with the basic style and once with the feature
style. This is because contention between the basic styles, colour
theming styles and my filter style.

What I would like to propose is a two tier styling approach.

At the top level we have the style manager. The style manager is
responsible for controlling what styles are used to render a specific
feature. The layer rendering mechanism would use the style manager to
 say please render this feature.

There would be a DefaultStyleManager which would behave exactly like the
current mechanisms with full backward compatibility on the layer with
the current layer related style mechanisms.

We would then implement a ColourThemingStyleManager which would handle
 theming on single attribute values.

And a FilterThemingStyleManager for my stuff.

There would be one active StyleManager for a layer at a time and the
Style dialog would change so you select which manager to use and then
have the different options for the styles once you select it.

 Any comments/suggestions on this approach?

I'm for your approach. I've also been wondering whether to consider the current
behaviour a bug ;-)

Hi, London

Peppe: Can we decide on a style to use when refering
 to the name of

Go ahead, blue colour seems fine!

I have been numbering my notes for each function
 sequentially and
making the note title bold. Does this work for you?

It's Ok but I probabily separate the notes on
different paragraph (I make a correction on the Edit
Page so you can see the difference)

I want to be consistent with your work.

Nope! adopt the style you prefer,
By the time that we finish the correction we decide
the final style (colour, bold, italics, etc)

 Thanks,
