Re: [JPP-Devel] Preparing a GeoTIFF dataset for testing

Hi Jukka
It is an interesting idea. Thanks!
OSGeo https://www.osgeo.org/ should have had a similar project (U remember
I used their tif files to test the epsg reader in OJ some years ago).
Regarding CRS
 a) Geotiff should include also a CRS tag.

b) Non Geitiff. The crs should be included into the .aux.XML sidecar file. (
http://paesaggio.regione.puglia.it/PPTR_2013_07/3_Atlante%20del%20Patrimonio/3.2_Tavole/3.2.1_L'idrogeomorfologia.jpg.aux.xml)
which works with jpg o PNG in OJ. Not with geotiff as interferes with
statistic dara reader, included into the same file. Not yet solved for OJ

[JPP-Devel] Preparing a GeoTIFF dataset for testing

2019-02-17 Thread Rahkonen Jukka (MML)
Hi,

I am planning to create a test data set from a small tiff file to include
examples of georeferencing with .tfw and as GeoTIFF as well as unreferenced,
tiled and striped versions, with all compression options supported by GDAL, and
with or without GDAL style overview levels. Perhaps examples of 8-bit, 16-bit
and 32-bit grayscale images, one 8-bit image with a colour palette, and images
with an alpha band. Is there anything else I should include into the test set?
