I can't use the bluetooth to connect to my iPhone 5 and then get access to

[k-9-mail] Adding contacts from CC list

2014-02-07 Thread Paul Buller
I'm new to Android, but I have not yet found an email app that allows the
user to add somebody from the cc list to the contacts. Looking through the
archives it appears K9 is also unable to do this. This seems like a very
obvious feature to have, but I haven't seen it. Is there some software
limitation in Android that makes that impossible for any app?

It seems to me that whatever options are available for the sender should be
available for everybody else in the cc list. I should be able to tap and
hold and get a list of options. Is this on the "to do" list?

Otherwise I like the app. Thanks for the hard work.

Touch the icon for the sender. You'll get an option to add to your contacts.

Of course, it may also be device dependent, that's how it works on my Razr M.

[k-9-mail] Disable Notifications for Email Fetching

2014-02-07 Thread Tim Heckman
Hello,

I've done a few searches on Google but I've yet to hit a page that seems to
answer my question.

I use a Pebble watch which forwards notifications from K-9 to my watch.
When K-9 is fetching a notification is sent, and the software I use to pipe
the K-9 notification sees this and sends it to my watch. I don't need to
see this every 20 minutes.

Is there a way to have K-9 fetch the email, but not notify when doing it? I
didn't find an option to indicate it's possible, so I thought I'd reach out
here.

Cheers!
-Tim

Wow.

So the first response was worded to make me look like an idiot despite the
fact that the responder hadn't bothered to read the original question
carefully enough to understand what I was actually asking. Now this
response is more or less telling me to shut the $&#@ up and bow down in the
presence of superior intellects. I should be grateful that I have been
given the honour of being allowed to use such an awesome piece of android
software! How dare I suggest there is room for improvement?

If this is my welcome to the world of Android then I'm already regretting
my entry. I'm glad the K-9 app itself is at least a decent piece of
software because the folks in charge of PR should be fired. Good day and
good riddance.

I have no intention on commenting on the answer you received, one way, or,
another, BUT:

this is an unmoderated forum;
you ask, you get, or don't get, answers
some good, some indifferent, some bad
some clever, some dumb,
sometimes worthwhile, other times, not

in a nutshell, there are some guys who code, but I don't think anyone is

and,I agree with you, it's a great mail client
