Re: [kaffe] Microsoft Features in Kaffe

I think this might be it...

http://kaffe.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/pocketlinux/XOE_1.0/src/kaffe-all/src/libraries/javalib/microsoft/

That's in the old Transvirtual Kaffe tree.

I believe that Transvirtual was paid to implement these by Microsoft's
legal team (who were embroiled in a legal war with Sun at the time).

Strange story, eh? :-)

Cheers,

I removed that code from the kaffe tree a while ago, fwiw. It didn't see
any patches, and I've never seen free software using those APIs.

Hello,

I'm currently trying to install a JVM on a set-top box with a STb7109
processor, sh4 (superH) family.
I saw on the Ports page that there was a superh version of Kaffe ;
however I couldn't manage to find it. I saw, searching in the mailing
list archives, that the config used to be in Kaffe's main release,
however this isn't the case anymore...
Could anyone help me, finding this config, or finding a compatible java for sh4?

It was moved from config/superh to config/sh.

Hi! everybody

I'm beginning to use kaffe, Do you know if Kaffe can run a jar file from J2ME
(Java 2 Micro Edition) ?

It depends. If the jar file use ME-specific APIs that are not present in
Java SE, then the answer is no, unless you use an ME wrapper for SE like
ME4SE.

this too?
