[kdenlive] [Bug 356407] "View" menu can't show/hide tabs

2015-12-09 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356407

Yes, that's right.

I made a compile script for the 15.12 branch (I also have one for master) and
the system-installed version is the arch Linux package.

cd ~/src/git/kdenlivebranch/ && git pull && cd build/ && cmake ..
-DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/home/qubodup/src/klgitbranchbin  && make -j 7 && make
install

The latest output was http://codepad.org/kS0NfED6

I think we discussed in some other ticket (about icons) that this might be the
cause of icon problems.

I don't really understand what can be done...

`cmake -LAH` didn't show me an option that seems like an obvious solution to be
used.

https://cmake.org/cmake/help/v3.0/module/GNUInstallDirs.html seems to indicate
that DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX should cover all cases although I guess the problems
indicate that it does not.

Inkscape seems to have had a similar issue
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1516238 . The solution seems simple
but on cpp file-level, and I'm vastly inexperienced with both c programming and
the kdenlive codebase.

I'll rename the ticket to make it valid (but now it's more of a feature
request, avoiding graphical inconsistencies for non-standard installations is
nice but not critical or anything.

[korganizer] [Bug 356429] New: Suspended reminders never recover if you close kontact (kde 4.14.14) on tumbleweed

2015-12-09 Thread Ian via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356429

Bug ID: 356429
Summary: Suspended reminders never recover if you close kontact
(kde 4.14.14) on tumbleweed
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 4.14.2
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: reminder daemon (korgac)
  Assignee: korganizer-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ianse...@yahoo.co.uk

If i suspend a reminder for "x" hours and i then close kontact, and log out and
log back in and reload kontact within that time period, the reminder never pops
up again, it is lost.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Suspend a reminder for 1 hour (for example)
2. Close kontact
3. logout
4. Login with the hour
5. open kontact
6. wait for reminder

Actual Results:
Reminder never re-appears

Expected Results:
Reminder to keep popping up at correct time interval until it is dismissed by
the user, even if it runs past the time interval - its important the reminder
is only closed by the user.

I think have a better understanding on what's causing that.
After going to Main Menu->View->Headers->Download New Themes... and making sure
to download the "Modern Headers" (by Tovok7), the issue disappeared.

It's good that I have remembered the Header theme which I was using in the
former KUbuntu 14.10.

Hope this is helpful. Could someone take a look into the code which retrieves
the KDE Mail user settings and tries to unconditionally apply them even if
runtime conditions are not met (i.e. the specific Header theme not actually
being available)?

Thank you.

1. Well... Could you please tell me what QT_XCB_FORCE_SOFTWARE_OPENGL is? I
mean: is it environment variable, or value in some config file, or what?

2. Shouldn't be this a default behavior? I mean, if not OpenGL support
available, then use simpler graphics API/software emulation. Cause a user
who've installed new (buggy) video driver/uses old graphic card/connects with
VNC to monitor-less server/whatsoever will certainly prefer to see his plasma
running, then displaying such useless message at start-up. Graphic wow-effects
on desktop are not so important to prevent the whole X-server be started in
case when video-driver configuration is not ideal.

[kdevplatform] [Bug 352583] Please add filter box to the Project dock

2015-12-09 Thread Milian Wolff via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352583

I don't know the email thread either, maybe we just discussed it on IRC. The
commit that removed the filter is:

commit 8c7a559f9d92cd8a4d3ea32eba8a19643a47613a
Author: Milian Wolff
Date: Tue Nov 5 14:57:01 2013 +0100

Remove proxy-model filtering from ProjectManagerView/ProjectProxyModel

This is now handled in a much more efficient way via the ProjectFilter
plugin. The dynamic filtering in the project view is thus obsoleted.

Thus: If you want to exclude stuff from your project, use the filter
plugin. If you want to quickly open a file for a given pattern, use
quickopen.

Regarding your workflow: Note that there is an action to focus the current file
in the project tree view. So for your case, you can just open one of the files,
e.g. abc.cpp, then activate the action (in my case with Ctrl + <) and open the
files.

Furthermore note that QuickOpen is smart enough to resolve "./" to filter based
on the path of the currently opened file, giving you another quick way to open
the sibling files.

[k3b] [Bug 356434] New: Cannot Burn Multisession DVD's on Linux Mint System

2015-12-09 Thread Radish via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356434

Bug ID: 356434
Summary: Cannot Burn Multisession DVD's on Linux Mint System
   Product: k3b
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Data Project
  Assignee: k...@kde.org
  Reporter: babelfish0...@hotmail.com
CC: mich...@jabster.pl, tr...@kde.org

The following are my system details:

Linux Kernel 3.19.0-32-generic
Linux Mint 17.3 x64 Cinnamon - Rosa
Cinnamon 2.8.6
Nemo 2.8.6
K3B 4.14.2

In essence I have tried creating multisession DVD's from scratch using a blank
Verbatim DVD on each test run. The tests I did were in 3 Steps (detailed
below). I have tried these test burns many times and always get the same
results. This strikes me as a severe problem as it means that in essence K3b is
not capable of burning multisession DVD's (at least on my system).

In case the information is important I would note that Linux Mint comes with
the Brasero burner as part of the default install of the Linux Mint. Before
installing K3b to the system I uninstalled all of Brasero and its components:

(1) Brasero - CD/DVD burning application for Gnome.
(2) Brasero-cdrkit - cdrkit for the Brasero burning application
(3) Brasero-common - Common files for the brasero CD burning application.

Only after the did install K3b. I installed as follows:
Installed K3B.
Installed K3B-data - data files (When this installed it said 7MB of disk space
freed. Maybe shouldn't install this.)
K3B-extrathemes

Then I installed cdrtools. The components of cdrtools that I installed were as
follows:
cdda2wav
cdrecord
mkisofs

STEP 1:
Insert blank disk in tray and chose New Data Project. Add one file to the
project to be burned. Any changes made to the 'Burn Medium' settings were as
follows:
(1) Writing: Enabled "Verify written data".
(2) Filesystem: "Volume Name" set to TEST
(3) Misc: "Multisession Mode: set to Start Multisession.

Burn one file (652.0 MiB) to the DVD which seems to have worked fine. Now I
have multisession DVD to which, in theory, I should be able to add other files
to.

STEP 2:
Now try adding a new file to the DVD just burned. Select "Continue Multisession
Project". For "session to import" selected Session 1 (TEST) - which was the
only session possible to select. (The "Medium" dialogue says there is 3.7 GiB
free space and the DVD is appendable.)

Any changes made to the Burn Medium settings were as follows:
(1) Writing: set to "Verify written data"
(2) Multisession Mode: set to "Continue Multisession.

Then clicked the Burn button. The result of this is that K3B shows an failed
error message saying:
(1) Probably a buffer underrun occurred.
(2) Please choose a lower burning speed.

The Debugging Output log was as follows:

It would come in handy if one had an option in the rightclick menu on a folder
to open this folder not in a completely new window or tab, but in the other
split view tab to then work with both folders at the same time. Now I manually
have to navigate to the second folder in the second split view tab. This
happens often as the folders you work on are in the same subfolder.

Another solution would be a an option to "mirror" the split view tabs.

Sonnet is one nice candidate, but there shouldn't be a hard dependency on KF5.
I'm thinking about an optional plugin. Getting this into the CI and into the
autobuilds for Windows is going to be a *lot* of fun :(.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

I am missing a recently accessed folders and files entry both in main dolphin
window and in the save-files-dialog. Other file managers like Nautilus have
this implemented. Is this quite a not-yet-ported-feature of KF5?

Thanks.

tooltips are unmanaged (override_redirect) and simply ignored by the VM.
you'll likely only see them w/ compositing because the mainwindow is then (by
default) not unmapped (technically it remains visible)

afaik, plain qt doesn't care about virtual desktops (qdesktopwidget property is
sth. different), so the best solution would be to omit qtooltip and use an
undecorated transient (dialog) instead.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Deactivate Chrome PDF viewer
2. Setting external PDF reader to open .pdf-files (e.g. Okular)
3. right-click, save under pdf

What is the expected behavior?
Saving the PDF with a right-click without automatically opening it in the
external pdf-viewer. It is just supposed to save the file not open it otherwise
I would have left-clicked to open it.

What went wrong?
It opens the pdf-file instead of just saving it.

- As described in the headline, clicking on the K-application menu launcher,
the menu opens not at the first, but the second, sometimes even the 3rd click.
The same happens with icons for running applications, a switch between apps
needs more than one click (alt-tab is fine, btw)

- Application icons (konsole) show a preview when hovering over the icon in the
taskbar. When trying to click (i started 2 konsole windows) on one of the two
previews, the preview window just disappears. Moving the mouse away and
hovering over the icon again, then it works (i can select the app i want to
activate)

- the 'close' icon in the hover-preview is way to small...

Reproducible: Always

[kdenlive] [Bug 356442] New: 15.11.90-23 - Kdenlive using system icons for theme, not pre-packaged Breeze icons.

2015-12-09 Thread Jesse via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 356442
Summary: 15.11.90-23 - Kdenlive using system icons for theme,
not pre-packaged Breeze icons.
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: jesse.dub...@gmail.com

After clicking "Add Title Clip" and opening up the title creator dialog box, I
noticed that many of the icons were appearing as three consecutive dots. Farid,
in another bug, told me that Kdenlive "should" be including and using the
Breeze icons by default, now.

I'm testing this on Ubuntu GNOME 15.10

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
Kdenlive shows some of the Breeze icons, but many buttons and toolbar options
(in the title creator and "Configure Kdenlive" windows) have some missing or
ambiguous icons

Expected Results:
Kdenlive use the entire Breeze icon theme, regardless of distro (that is, I'm
assuming if it is truly using a built-in Breeze icon set).

Getting this issue in Arch Linux testing with plasma 5.5. Just had to close all
my apps and restart desktop, because Xorg was at 2.7G RAM usage. Xorg is the
main issue, as it's memory usage raises faster than that of plasma. Plasma 5.4
didn't show this problem. 5.4.95 did, and issue is still present in 5.5 final.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

plasmashell (5.5.0) using Qt 5.5.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Go to Dolphin settings, Services tab. Enable Activities service (to associate
activities with files). In Dolphin right click mouse, hover mouse on Activities
menu entry in context menu. Dolphin crash without notification. Then
right-click in Desktop Folder View widget on some folder, hover mouse on
Activities menu entry in context menu. Whole Plasma crash and restarts. This
error notification appears.

Okay, so I'm not the only one.

On my desktop the layout is remembered now. However on my laptop it still
isn't.
Both are using the 2ffb44a snapshot of the 15.12 branch.
Up to date Arch on both machines.
The Desktop has movit enabled (AMD HD7970; mesa 11) the laptop doesn't (Intel
HD4400; crashes everytime I try to resize the monitor with movit)
Any ideas?

Cool, thank you for letting me know I'm going to try this.

Also - I found problems with mapping pad/stylus buttons to mouse clicks, my
xsetwacom (v 0.30.0) didn't like the way it was invoked by the wacomtablet. I
needed to patch it a bit to get it working (basically to set Button 2 parameter
to "Button +2" rather just "2". Did you experience such issues? Should I post
this patch somewhere (or maybe it's fixed in that other branch)?

Summary: The left panel from 'Account Details' isn't able to
correctly resize
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.5.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: rapiteanu.cata...@gmail.com

When entering 'System Settings -> Account Details' the left panel is not able
to adjust it's width based on the displayed components. This can be easily seen
when the KDE is set in another language that has a longer description for those
components.

This problem can be seen in the image attached.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open 'System Settings'
2. Go to 'Account Details'

Actual Results:
The is an horizontal scrollbar for the components panel.

Expected Results:
The shouldn't be any horizontal scrollbar for the components panel.
The width of the left panel should be calculated based on the width of the
components strings.

If this problem is not seen, change the localization to 'Romanian'.

I've noticed that Kdenlive remembers the layout when Kdenlive's window isn't
maximized. You may very well resize it to use all space, but don't maximize it
from the window manager perspective. Now rearrange and resize Kdenlive's views.
Save. Exit. Restart should now restore this view setup correctly. Even when you
are now officially maximizing Kdenlive's window. I tripped on this by accident
and can at least reproduce it on my installation.
