[konsole] [Bug 357063] New konsole uses desktop for background; echoing command input/out NOT displaying

2015-12-23 Thread George R . Goffe via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357063

I'm thinking that there is something not right with dual screen support. I have
a laptop screen as screen 1, screen 2 is a 27" Samsung. some commands (xv,
mplayer, Konsole edit settings) started in screen 2 display in screen 1 even
though screen 2 is set to primary.

As for the Konsole problem, it starts just right on the lhs screen. moving
"Konsole term" to the rhs screen remains fully functional.

I hope some of this helps. Fedora 22 x86_64

[kdenlive] [Bug 357095] New: [patch] remember last directory in dvdwizard

2015-12-23 Thread Michael Vogt via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357095

Bug ID: 357095
Summary: [patch] remember last directory in dvdwizard
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: michael.v...@gmail.com

While working with the dvd wizard I noticed a small annoyance. When I went back
and forth
between my project and the dvd wizard it would bump me back into $HOME so that
I had
to crawl down my filesystem to find the previous saved dvdwizard project. This
tiny patch fixes
this:

Instead of always starting from "$HOME" when loading a dvd wizard
file, remember the previous directory and use that as the default
when loading files. Useful when returning to the wizard after
making adjustments to the project.

Thanks for considering this tiny patch!
 Michael

[plasmashell] [Bug 357096] New: Plasmashell crashes when browsing for icons for newly created .desktop file

2015-12-23 Thread Jakub via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357096

Bug ID: 357096
Summary: Plasmashell crashes when browsing for icons for newly
created .desktop file
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.0
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: kubek...@o2.pl
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

Application: plasmashell (5.5.0)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Operating System: Linux 4.2.6-301.fc23.x86_64 x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Fedora RPMs

-- Information about the crash:
Plasmashell was repeatedly crashing every time when I tried to browse for
custom icon for new .desktop file. Sometimes it crashed as early as opening
file context menu, or properties dialog, but it was rare.

Additionally I have 3 monitors setup with one panel and often have to kill
plasmashell to make it adjust to screens. This setup doesn't seem to be very
stable and may be tied to experienced problem.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

For reproduction, just open kate once, add text, try saving. If all is fine,

Agreed it is similar to the other reported bug. However, the difference is
simply that this is a plain vanilla install of Digikam. I have not added or
changed any backgrounds, this is how it comes. It is rather disappointing to
see that it has been going on for number of revisions and major releases :(

I read the backtrace wrong. The version is the indeed the KDE 4 version.

Unfortunately the backtrace does not contain the debug symbols. Can you install
the debug packages for kdelibs and Kate. Now I do not remember the package
names, but something with -dbg ;)

The crash is in libkio.so and is probably not a Kate specific issue. Are you
getting crashes in other KDE applications that use the file-dialog?

Please note: Slackware does not ship rar *nor* unrar and will not likely ever
change that.

Is it possible to add a compile option so that "unrar" is not required and the
RAR support of libarchive >= 3.02
(https://github.com/libarchive/libarchive/wiki/ReleaseNotes#libarchive-302) can
be used instead?

No need to apologise for your English - I got the drift.

Rev 4.6.6 is pretty old now, and a number of bugs in investments have since
been fixed.

The present stable release is 4.7.2, and I would recommend that you move to
that ASAP.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 357099] New: Stuck at connecting animation [regression]

2015-12-23 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357099

Bug ID: 357099
Summary: Stuck at connecting animation [regression]
   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: lu...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdde@porcupinefactory.org
CC: jgrul...@redhat.com

When connecting to a new network, occasionally the applet never acknowledges
that an interface has been configured, never ceasing to display the connecting
aimation which eats up to 60% (!) CPU time.

The workaround is to disconnect/remove the interface and start it again - it is
very inconvenient when said interface belongs to a VM or a container.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
a) Connect to wireless network using the applet
OR
b) connect to VPN using command line
OR
c) start a (routed) network using virt-manager

Actual Results:
Even after configuring the interface, it still has the "connecting" animation
both in the tray icon and in popup shelf.

Expected Results:
No animation after interface is operational.

[telepathy] [Bug 355415] Cannot connect to Google Hangouts

2015-12-23 Thread Thomas Van Parys via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355415

--- Comment #4 from Thomas Van Parys ---
I was waiting for Fedora to push 15.08.3 to see whether that actually fixes the
bugs, but if 15.12.0 still has the same issues, that's not very likely.

But I wonder if it's only my (Fedora) install of Telepathy that's so completely
messed up, or if it's a general thing. These should be separate bugs, but next
to Google Hangouts, also ICQ is not working and Telegram keeps asking for the
non-existing 'morse' package. Actually, only XMPP is at this point working as
it should.

Thanks for the bug report! It seems that it's crashing in Phonon's VLC backend,
maybe when trying to play an audio notification.

It seems that you are using quite outdated versions of Dolphin, Qt and Phonon.
It would be great if you could test a more recent, Qt 5-based version and
Dolphin (i.e., Dolphin 15.08 or later) and let us know if you still see this
problem.

Thanks!

[konqueror] [Bug 357102] New: Microsoft Outlook/OWA logout bypassed by pressing back button repeatedly

2015-12-23 Thread oxitech via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 357102
Summary: Microsoft Outlook/OWA logout bypassed by pressing back
button repeatedly
   Product: konqueror
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: khtml
  Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: oxit...@telenet.be

When testing Microsoft Outlook Web Access i pressed logout. Consequently i
pasted ( accidently ) the url as in https://webmail.com/owa/ into the adressbar
and pressed enter. To my amazement i was logged on to outlook webmail again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Logon to Outlook Webmail, press Logout/Signout ("Afmelden" in Dutch)
2. Refresh ... close the tab
3. Keep pressing the back button, you're now in OWA again ... OR ... open a new
tab and copy/past the URL like /owa and same result.

Expected Results:
Login screen

I ended up completely deleting ~/.config/libaccounts-glib and ~/.config/signond
and re-creating all the accounts from scratch. Conversation logs are stored
under ~/.local/share/TpLogger. You can pair them back with the newly created
accounts if you wish (mc-tool dump will be your guide). Look at
https://community.kde.org/KTp/Setting_up_KAccounts for an illustration of how
complicated the authentication in KTp is. With all the libraries, daemons,
plugins and their ever-changing protocols and configuration formats, it's
wonder that the KTp works at all (sometimes). Btw, I was horrified when I
realized, that the signond "secrets" database is stored in plain text and is
readable by group (which, in my case, is users!).

We could add such an option, but unfortunately RAR support in libarchive is not
yet good enough (e.g. encrypted rar archives are not supported).

I'm actually working on a plugin for The Unarchiver [1]. They support a lot of
archive formats and, more importantly, they claim to have full RAR support.
Their cli frontends ( lsar and unar) are already shipped by the main Linux
distributions, and Slackware could do the same (license is LGPL 2.1).

The exact same thing is true for me. It forces me to close kmail but when I
restart kmail, it is fine.

[plasmashell] [Bug 356394] Crash at some point while monitor power cycled

2015-12-23 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356394

--- Comment #4 from zeroping+kdeb...@gmail.com ---
I think I've narrowed this one down a bit.

It looks like qsgrl_animation_interval () at
scenegraph/qsgthreadedrenderloop.cpp:111
is calling QScreen::refreshRate() on a screen that is null.

I don't have all of the source that built my Debian package, but it almost
certainly has something like this in it:
qreal refreshRate = QGuiApplication::primaryScreen()->refreshRate();
(This is some from code that looks about right, here:
http://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qtdeclarative.git/tree/src/quick/scenegraph/qsgthreadedrenderloop.cpp?id=06ff96d49159274aa47584db58c5451f28f1cb36
)

It looks like, yes, QGuiApplication::primaryScreen() is allowed to return null
when there are no screens, which I'm guessing happens for a moment under the
Nvidia driver when the display is asleep:
http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qguiapplication.html#primaryScreen

So, does that make this a Qt bug? I'm just an innocent bystander here, so if
anyone has knowledge, feel free to chime in. Looks like this might be a
one-line patch for someone who knows what they're doing.

[kwin] [Bug 348569] Cannot move any windows after closing clusterssh session

2015-12-23 Thread Fredi via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348569

@Rex Dieter, ok for the clusterssh bug, but there's something i'm missing.
Shouldn't kwin be more robust too?
I mean, with gnome's window manager and others i can't reproduce this issue ...

[kwin] [Bug 348569] Cannot move any windows after closing clusterssh session

2015-12-23 Thread Thomas Lübking via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348569

see comment #7 - clusterssh screws xserver times, forcing everything to ignore
them as well and act as if X11 was sync, iow: other WMs not affected would be
simply "limited" (to avoid the term "broken" in terms of X11 while it's not a
problem in a "all clients local" world)

It also affects (at least) Qt5 selection buffers (clipboard) - this *may* be
due to how xcb handles things in contrast to Xlib (looks like cssh simply
causes future timestamps which make xcb skip putting events on the server)

If you want to make panels the same, the config is available in
~/.config/plasmashellrc

thickness=

I have no intention of exposing multiple ways to configure the same thing in
the UI.
