[kwin] [Bug 357605] Desktop grid should optionally merge all screens in one layout and clone the result across all screens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357605 Thomas Lübkingchanged: What|Removed |Added Summary|Desktop Grid layouts are|Desktop grid should |limited, additional layouts |optionally merge all |would be great. |screens in one layout and ||clone the result across all ||screens See Also||https://bugs.kde.org/show_b ||ug.cgi?id=354876 --- Comment #1 from Thomas Lübking --- Tbh, this is unlikely gonna be supported since it very quickly reaches its limits, notably when there're more than two screens or generally the combined aspect ratio runs "out of bounds". Also you're wasting quite some screen estate, notably when presenting windows in desktop grid. On top of that this approach exposes windows on other screens (we frequently get bug reports when this happens because the audience is confronted with windows they're not supposed to see) As the additional concept would add quite some (more) code complexity (lots of branches and code doubling) to a class that already is overly complex, there's probably much reluctance to add it as option, notably if the only pro of the concept is "I'm used to it from unity" - sorry. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 331896] Regression: Categories in edit contact window no longer showing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331896 Martin Burnickichanged: What|Removed |Added CC||martin.burni...@burnicki.ne ||t --- Comment #7 from Martin Burnicki --- I just gave KDE PIM suite 4.14.10 under openSUSE 13.2 another try. Had used the PIM suite in KDE3 for a long time but in the man time changed over to some other tools since I found that PIM suite 4 was pretty instable and unreliable. What I've seen now with 4.14.10 looks pretty well, but ... I'm also using Owncloud as server, and have lots of contacts with categories assigned. As mentioned earlier this works well with the Owncloud web interface, Thunderbird with SOGO connector, and my Android smartphone with CalDAV sync. Unfortunately, if I add my Ownlcoud address books to kaddressbook then the categories are not imported and listed. In kaddressbook there is only one predefined category, "birthday", and I can only try to add additional categories manually. However, even much worse, when I edit an existing contact and e.g. modify the email address only then all categories are removed when the modified contact is saved in Owncloud, so my contact list is really messed up. This is really a showstopper for me. Is it so hard to get this working properly and leave existing fields in the carddav record at least untouched when the record is written back? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 357607] Crash at startup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357607 --- Comment #1 from pmanousis--- I thought that fglrx had to do sth with the bug and I reinstalled it. Apparently I was wrong. Since I have set to KDE to remember my session, the next thing I did was to quit from Kontact application before logging off and on. This made it work properly! I suspect that since Kontact wants to use KWallet, and KWallet starts with a "pop-up" dialog to ask for the code, it makes the plasma collapse. When I was not running Kontact and there was no KWallet, everything went smooth as expected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

One of my contacts are sending some mails (usually with attachments) which I am enable to read. When I try to open their message in kmail, the headers are correct (From:, To:, Date:) but the body of the message is replaced by the following gibberish: N¬Æ¦º[b¥ªíë,j¢Âú+« Furthermore, the message is marked as "No HTML" (it is actually HTML+Text) and it doesn't see any attachment (there is one). *) If I open the message on the web interface of my provider, everything works. *) I can save the message locally from kmail with File->Save As into a .mbox file. Then, I can read the email and the attachment from the .mbox file with mutt *) If I try to open the .mbox file from kmail, it still doesn't work. It is very annoying and make kmail unusable for this particular contact. I am attaching one of their emails to demonstrate the problem. What I actually did was: 1) I saved one of their email into bugreport.mbox 2) I edited bugreport.mbox to replace all the names/addresses/Tel/etc with X. I tried not to change the number of characters. 3) similarly, IP addresses and numeric IDs have been replaced by strings of 1. 4) I removed the attached .pdf (encoded in base64) and replaced it by another dummy pdf 5) I tried to recompute the values of the headers "Content-Length:" and "Lines:" to account for the modified .pdf This way, bugreport.mbox should not contain any sensitive information. I checked that the resulting file could be viewed with mutt (including the attachment) but not with kmail. It looks like the problem is in kcodecs. UnicodeGroupProber::HandleData has this code: if (4 >= aBuf[1] && aBuf[1] >= 0 && isprint(aBuf[0])) { where isprint is a macro: enum { // non-relevant CTYPE_PRINT = 1 << 6, // non-relevant }; #define ctype_test(c, t) ((ctype_data[(unsigned short)c] & t) != 0) #define isprint(c) ctype_test((c), CTYPE_PRINT) And sometimes aBuf contains negative values. This doesn't always happen, sometimes the panel stays on my primary (notebook) screen as I want. [plasmashell] [Bug 357532] Widget Explorer is not being populated.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357532 --- Comment #7 from Kai Uwe Broulik--- Could be that the animation is fired before the window is visible at which point it fails to get an animation context and breaks. Looks like a Qt bug I haven't managed to find a simple way to reproduce but in widget explorer a workaround should be possible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 357617] New: Batch rename fails when using custom file extensions
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357617 Bug ID: 357617 Summary: Batch rename fails when using custom file extensions Product: digikam Version: 4.14.0 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Advanced Rename Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org Reporter: throwa...@online.de I have added the extension "*.MTS" to the list of file extensions Digikam recognizes. This is the video format my camera produces, named e.g. 01.MTS and so on. When I want to batch rename this files according to my usual schema ([date:"MMdd_hhmmss"].[ext]{upper}), the rename process stops at the first file with this extension. It is renamed, however nevertheless an error message " cannot be renamed" or " does not exist" (translated from German, english messae may differ) pops up. I can start the rename process again, then it will rename the next video file and fail after that. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.
