Actually, we really need a button for Merge Selected Layers in the Layers
docker. At the current state, there is no way for people to know Krita can even
do this (I didn't know it until Scott's book, before that I move layers into
groups to merge them)  -- as we cannot right click when multiple layers were
selected -- which is the only relevant place for that command. I guess that's a
Qt restriction?

I suggest we remove the "Move in/out Group" buttons and replace them with a
"Merge Selected Layers" button. We can drag layers in/out a group anyway, which
is the better way to do it. To use Move in/out Group buttons, one must also
place the layer next to the group to move in, which is very clumsy and makes
little sense.

The shortcut for Krita's Merge Selected Layers (Ctrl+Shift+E) is currently not
reliable. I don't know if this is a DE specific problem, I'm using Gnome 3. The
symptom being: if I press Ctrl and Shift first then E, this shortcut does not
work at all. It only works when I first press E, then Ctrl and Shift, which
will flip my Eraser Mode state as a result.

When kdenlive opens up, the layout is terrible (IMHO) and I have a few layouts
that I like to use. 
However, there is no option to set any one of those as a default, and so I have
to load a layout every time I open kdenlive to get a usable UI.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Kdenlive
2.Use profanities at the horrible layout
3.Load usual layout
4. Edit

Actual Results:  
Irritation at having to perform the same step again and again... not
user-friendly

Expected Results:  
When kdenlive opens up, it should either use the layout from last time, or a
default.

Hi there, there is a hotkey for grouping clips. However, with kdenlive set to
automatically splitting out audio I end up dealing a lot more with clips that
are already groups that I want to un-group. 

In Inkscape the group function has the hotkey: "Ctrl" + "G", and un-group is
"Ctrl" + "Shift" + "G"
Something like that will be a great time-saver, and not too difficult or
disruptive to implement.

diff between the 50fps project, and the edited one

So, here is the diff between the two files. 
It would be great to have the bugs taken out of the change fps of a project
feature. 
There may be other little bugs, and I will report them in a similar manner, but
let's get this fix in first, please?
This fix should be quite an easy one, as while the project is loaded, all the
variables are in memory and easy to modify.

So, here is the render from the 50fps project. 
As you can clearly see, it's not the same nice 360 rotation of the drone as
earlier. 
The output is from much earlier inthe clip when the drone was still climbing to
altitude.

So, to get some more detail on this bug. 
I made an extremely simple project, with one clip on the timeline. 
The clip shows my drone doing a slow 360 degree rotation over my hometown.

First using Krita 2.9.8 64 bit, it was fine and all was good up to 2.9.9 then
got Windows 10 on Surface Pro 3 and the pen cursor became crooked by about 3
inches to the left of the screen.  Downgraded to 32 bit and all was good again
along with a few minor bother to adjust to, such as pinching to zoom in and out
was no longer functioning. Purchased Krita Gemini and the problem returned even
after checking the pen driver.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open program
2. Lift and use Surface pen
3. See where the cursor is placed

Actual Results:  
Pen cursor is crooked in anything higher than 32

Expected Results:  
I'm not sure...

32 bit seems to be buggy with Windows 10. Everytime I try to save an image
file, jpeg or png, it crashes and shuts down without making an image file. Also
has a hard time with saving a PSD file whether it was made in Krita or
Photoshop.

On one of my users kwallet pops us to ask for a password to access a wallet, it
says  "akonadi_xxx_resource0" wants access - why doesn't it tell us what the
real name the akonadi resource is e.g. your kmail account identity. 


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  login to user
2. kwallet request for "akonadi_imap_resource1" or  "akonadi_imap_resource3"
(alternate every login)
3. enter correct password

Actual Results:  
if the password is correct, the message goes away as expected.  I don't think
this happens when there new requests

Expected Results:  
when requesting a password, it should not give an akonadi_resource_name but a
more meaningful name to the user who will not be technical in any way.

I have had issues on this user as its been upgraded from opensuse 13.1 to
Tumbleweed/Plasma 5 so there is history of different versions of software being
upgraded e.g. akonadi, kdepim, kwallet.
i have gone through a process of removing all kwallet files/directories and
recreating "kdewallet" with all the correct details.
On this user, i get alternate password requests from 2 imap resources each
login session and i've no idea which actual resource i'm looking at because of
naming the resource instead of the program in the password request dialog. 
These may be old imap resources i no longer use.

Mh all my tracks are converted to ogg and there very few mp3s but this happens
too often, I don't think it happen because of that).

I haven't all gstreamer1 plugins installed but I can play MP3 (and I think aac)
(I installed codecs from rpmfusion :( ) and of course Ogg, WAV and FLAC.

I have a color scheme that is mostly black/dark. While introducing the data
into the snippets the color of the text is white and I can barely read it.

JFYI: you shouldn't pull from github, that is only a mirror, our sources are on
git.kde.org. Also be aware that we have two different branches currently,
Amarok 2.8-git which is master and amarok kf5 which is the ongoing Qt5 port,
still in pre-alpha stage.

Merged View does merge the various media sources into one, so if those are a
mix of local and remote, it takes quite some time to retrieve, especially if
you have a very large collection and if you set the Collection Browser view to
show the covers, and the "automatic Cover Art" retrieval is active. So please
try not to use the automatic cover retrieval and cover view in Merged View,
that should solve the problem. BTW, a collection on a NAS is not local, that is
only if all the tracks are on the same machine you are running Amarok on. 
Using the Merged View with remote collections has always be rather problematic,
as it depends on a lot of factors that can make this last forever.

As for the other problems you mention: please let's keep bug reports to one
item at a time, else this is impossible to handle.

FWIW: we have a support channel #amarok on irc.freenode.net (ask your question
and stay around, we are not online 24/7), and a forum on
http://forum.kde.org/amarok. The bug reports should be reserved for bugs only,
not for support request or build problems.

Finally: please run amarok in debug mode so you have a konsole output when this
is happening, so at least we have an idea what is going on (and it's also much
easier to attach a backtrace when it freezes).

H, am remote now, but had a quick look.

Running the build on a dev machine:

1) It identifies itself as:

Amarok
Version 2.8-git
Using KDE 4.14.2

and was build a few weeks ago from latest pull from github. Can update later
today, rebuild and try again.

2) For context I am using an external database on another machine (a media
server), and the actual media is stored on a third machine (a NAS).

3) I can navigate my media library just fine in the Media Source panes, all
good. Can't play anything, Amarok just falls over (yet to diagnose but I think
it's because it fails to find the media file to play trying to access the wrong
place because the devices table in the media server isn't consistent with the
mounts on the dev server ... I'll fix that later and see).

4) That said, navigating the Local Library works fine. If I click the Merged
View button the pane clears eventually refreshes and Amarok seems to hangs
still. 

Take this with a grain of salt until I try on-site as I'm remote now and don't
trust the remote connection much (clouds performance experiences with its own
lags and issues - using teamviewer). 

The crucial thing still missing is a clear indication of what Merged View is
actually hoping to do though.

(As an aside, as I posted on the dev group, I'm still trying to work out how to
build on the dev machine and run the binary on the media server - another
issue).

What file type are those, all the same or different ones?
Last I had seen such a skip was due to a missing codec, please check you have
the codecs (gstreamer 1.x plugins) for MP3,  aac and other proprietary formats,
by default only Ogg, WAV and FLAC will play.

Note: the fix was tested by temporarily changing the pool size to a very small
value.

Hello, I made a test (still with beta 3) after having applied the Breeze icons
to Ubuntu, and then, Digikam work properly. Great !
However it seems the icon set is not really complete, and in many places, I get
an ugly display. But Digikam is fine.

movit patch to fix crash on locale with comma as decimal separator

I have integrarted the patch into my package manager and rebuilt movit. I can
run melt w/o tweaking my LC_NUMERIC now and the clip runs fine desaturated.

However, kdenlive still crashes when I add a color clip and the movie clip is
still black.

When I add a track using insert track, I expect it to use a number greater than
the previous every time I add a new one.

e.g. The last autonamed track that is given by default is Video 3. When I do an
insert track, the autofilled preset name for the new track is Video 3. It
should be Video 4, and then when I insert track again after adding Video 4, it
should be Video 5, so on and so forth.

I made one more observation: if I add a movie clip first and color clip second,
kdenlive doesn't crash. But both movie and color clips display as black.

When I add the color clip as the first clip in the project, kdenlive crashes
immediately.

If I try to generate a graphic (e.g. a bar graph or scatterplot), and I use the
"Preview function", the graphic is visible. However, I also get a "Warnings or
Errors:" window popping up that says:

Error in rkward:::RK.resize(2)  :
Nested graphics operations are not supported by this device (did you try to
resize the device during locator()?

Screen capture of this error message is attached.

If I close the preview window, then "Submit" from the plot creation window, I
go back to the workspace, but the graph isn't there; instead, there's the "red
circle with a slash through it" icon that I assume means that the graph PNG
image file couldn't be found to embed in the workspace, either because it
wasn't created or because it's in the wrong location.

I have hit this issue on two separate computers, both with 64-bit Windows 10
installed. I am using the  very latest version of the full RKWard program
0.6.4, downloaded today  (which includes both R 3.2.3 and KDE). 

Any ideas?

Changing the track name in the configure panel leads the the track being
renamed in the configure panel, but leaves the actual tracks with the old
names. On a save and restart the actual tracks reflect the new names.

The effect stack is still broken. 
Keyframe is still on the maximum frame, and all the values are still on their
minimum. This looks like a feature of how it's imported when the effect has a
keyframe that is on a frame that is outside of the range of the clip...

In ProTune Daylight, the line
  
   Amount

keyframes="0=800;"  <- that is the value of the slider, and must be preserved.
This effect is normally keyframeable, but in this case there is only one
keyframe, and so that value must be applied to all the frames that the effect
stretches over, hence "0="


Now, in the file "temporary", the line reads:
  
   Amount

Here I see:
keyframes="4670=800"
This should read 
keyframes="0=800"
ie: no keyframes for this saved effect. The keyframe 4670 is not in the range
of frames for the clip is is applied to, and so all the sliders get their
default, minimum values.

there are two phonon backends, the gstreamer and the vlc one. I can't tell you
"which is the best", as some people prefer the gstreamer one (more features),
others prefer the vlc one.

Note: I had a fix for this the other night, but then ran into other problems
caused by the patch. Any other solution attempt caused other (subtle) issues
with window handling/etc.. Then I lost motivation because there so many corner
cases to pay attention too...

One of my patches is here: This fixes the problem described in the bug report,
but with this patch the quick open window is not closed anymore when you
Alt+Tab out of KDevelop for instance...

So if anyone wants to pick up... I'm fed up with looking at quickopen code :)

Ok, then it really looks like you are hit by the locale bug I found, but I
don't understand why changing locale does not fix the issue with Kdenlive...

If you are comfortable with compiling, you could try my Movit patch to see if
it helps...

You need to edit the file init.cpp in Movit source directory with the following
changes:

I have the following layouts installed:
Hungarian,
German, 
Russian,
English

If I change amongst the layouts clicking on the layout indicator label on the
system tray, two of the four layouts  not the right letters are displayed in
kvkbd.
Changing the order of the layouts in KDE Control Center - Input devices -
Keyboard - Layouts,  the wrongly displayed layouts shift amongst the layouts
(see screenhos attached).
Only the displayed letters on kvkbd are wrong, if I type a text into any KDE
app. it appears with  the right characters. 

kvkbd version: 0.7.2 on openSUSE 13.2 KDE 4.14.9

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up at least for layouts in KDE Control Center - Input devices - Keyboard
- Layouts tab.
2. Open kvkbd and change between tha layouts by clicking on the layout
indicator label on the system tray
3. Modify the order of the layouts in KDE Control Center - Input devices -
Keyboard - Layouts tab
4. Open kvkbd and change between tha layouts by clicking on the layout
indicator label on the system tray

Actual Results:  
Two of the four layouts are displayed wrongly in kvkbd

Expected Results:  
All of the available layouts should be displayed correctly in kvkbd

I just installed linux kubuntu, can't use dragon player no video or discernible
audio.
Tried to netflix with firefox, it says unsupported, wants HTML5 or Silverlight
Tried hulu and it says flash is not right version.
I may not have done the install right, or the updates after maybe I missed a
step, as a linux newbie, I'm really not sure. I want this os, just need some
help getting it all to function, really think its a newbie install error, or
install sequence error, but not sure. It seems like none of default programs
that were to be include with kubuntu do not function properly.

Expected Results:  
I guess I expected to be able to use videos and dvd's, and other default
programs on completion of install.

KDE allows for setting the keyboard model, layout and variant but not the
keycodes. I would need to employ a special keycodes file as found in
/usr/share/X11/xkb/keycodes. Employing a custom xmodmap every time KDE changes
the keyboard settings would however pose an alternative.
