When trying to create DSL (pppoe) connection I fail because OK button is always
disabled and I can't click it to save my new connection. Unless I do some magic
gestures the button keeps being disabled. I manage to make it enabled by
switching to the IPV4 tab and changing of connection method and then returning
it back to Automatic mode.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click "Add new connection" button and choose DSL connection type
2. On the DSL tab enter username and password
3. On the DSL tab enter some random name of Service
4. Switch to IPV4 tab
5. Change Connection method to some other value
6. Return it back to Automatic mode
7. Switch to DSL tab and remove the Service name you entered on step 3

Actual Results:  
Connection button becomes enabled after step 6

Expected Results:  
Connection button becomes enabled after step 2 (in my case name of Service is
not necessary)

Ubuntu 16.04 64bit after upgrade from 14.04
Writing file "..." resulted in an error: The lock file can't be created.

The vocabulary collection is locked by another process.  You can open the file
if you take over the lock, but you will lose any changes from the other
process.

Qt 5.5.1 (built against 5.5.1)
The xcb windowing system

This bug has rendered my Parley unusable. Can somebody explain in English :)
how to solve this problem.

This has been resolved in Plasma 5.6.3 by making the Weather Forecast Widget no
longer available as a System Tray Extra Item (see commit reference with comment
"[Weather] do not allow in NotificationArea, broken in Plasma 5.6").

RESOLVED/FIXED; if this is not appropriate protocol, please let me know.

5 D symbols, all identical

Unfortunately it turned out that updating to Qt 5.6 didn't help.

Duplicating To / Cc field always immediately removes the dropdown menu of found
contacts. I believe that's the reason why I have to remove what I typed and
start to type again in order to request dropdown menu once again. That way the
next To / Cc field is already created so nothing is "conflicting" with showing
up found contacts menu.

I have now Plasma 5.6.3, KF 5.21, KDE Apps 16.04.0, Qt 5.6, (KMail 5.2.0). Arch
Linux.

Korganizer has been acting completely crazily.
It started when suddenly korganizer lost all calendars. I had nothing. I erased
.kde4, and then relogged in. Suddenly the calendar events reappeared. I now had
4 Personal Calendars, and one std.ics. The .kde4/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics
has no events in it at all. The akonida database file seemed to have the
events, but they were never saved to std.ics. 

I happened to have saved an icalout.ics file in $HOME before the loss, but if I
put that into std.ics most of the events were erased from std.ics. 

Ie, it seems that everything is being saved in just the akonida database, not
in std.ics which is claimed to be the primary source. 

How do I get rid of all the Personal Calendars? They do not seem to point to
anything (if I left click to select one of them, then right click and select
Calendar properties, everything is blank. 

If I click on the top Personal calendar to deselect it, it is the bottom one
that deselects. Anotehr click and the next one deselect, etc. Only when the top
one is clicked do all of the events dispear. Ie, the selection of the Personal
Calendar seems to have to little relation to what events are displayed. And
std.ics selection or deselection does nothing. 

Note Mageia 5 seems to use 4.14.5, not 4.14.2

It is a complete disaster to loose my events. This program used to work well,
and I have used it reliably for 10 years. But since Mageia 4 (2 years ago) it
suddenly started acting in a very flaky manner. 

Also the documentation is non-existent. None of the menu items or
possibiliities are listed anywhere that I can find in the documentation.

1. Who knows how it got into this state. I do not want to loose everything by
playing too many games.

Kmymoney 4.7.2 compiled and installed without issue on kubuntu 14.04 lts
according to the instructions given in readme.cmake.  When performing the same
steps in 16.04 lts, the first step is to install dependencies.  After inputting
the command, no packages are downloaded and it stops with an error to the
effect that the package list is empty.  When continueing on with the cmake
command, it ends in error that software cannot be found.  Obviously I can't
install the software.
btw, the latest version of cmake is installed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.sudo apt--get build-dep kmymoney  (in Kubuntu 16.04 LTS)
2.cmake .. DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr
3.

Actual Results:  
The first step ends in an error of the package list is empty
The second step ends in error since presumably the dependencies weren't
installed.

Expected Results:  
The software should have compiled and installed successfully as it did under
Kubuntu 14.04 LTS.

I have the same issue with a Samsung S4 Mini 9195i - I can view the internal
storage but not the SD card - it seems as if I am missing read permissions to
that folder/mount, because I can see the mount, but its contents are empty.

On Kubuntu 16.04, the system is unusable out of the box with Baloo running.
This appears to be version 5.18. Disabling Baloo allows me to use the system
again.

I'm running into the same problem: in KDE's settings, under Translations I set
Preferred Languages: American English, while under Formats I set Region:
Nederland - Nederlands (nl_NL). However, I get Dutch output from some programs
now, for example Make.

As Dennis wrote, the cause seems to be ~/.config/plasma-locale-settings.sh
which sets LANG to nl_NL. If I unset LANG, Make returns to printing English
messages.

POSIX.1-2008 describes LANG as:
This variable shall determine the locale category for native language, local
customs, and coded character set in the absence of the LC_ALL and other LC_*
(LC_COLLATE, LC_CTYPE, LC_MESSAGES, LC_MONETARY, LC_NUMERIC, LC_TIME)
environment variables. This can be used by applications to determine the
language to use for error messages and instructions, collating sequences, date
formats, and so on.

Since this definition mixes up language and regional settings, which should be
two entirely separate things, in my opinion it's best to not set LANG at all.

With 16.04 (64-bit), I observed this and could not install an individual font.
One font did get installed when selecting 4 fonts. But in either case, and
without the backend died message,  the installing window states "Updating font
Configuration, Please Wait..." --which goes on forever. I have to pull the plug
to end the process as System Monitor does nothing. I even tried re-installing
Kubuntu, but the same thing happens.

On installation, Network Manager defaults the connection to DHCP. This gathers
lots of useful information - gateways, DNS settings, etc.

If I then decide to change the network address (I have a reserved static range
that I use for machines that act as servers), the connection editor presents me
with a completely page of settings.

It would be very helpful to fill these in with the parameters already supplied
by DHCP.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Networks from the system tray.
2. Select the "Configure network connections" icon - Connection Editor launches
3. Right click on a connection and select "Edit..."
4. Select the "IPv4" tab
5. Select method "manual"


Actual Results:  
The fields for DNS server and current IP address are left blank for you to fill
in.

Expected Results:  
These fields should be auto-filled with the DHCP-supplied information (if
available) for editing.

A Debian 8 system was established first with Gnome 3 as default desktop
environment, then I switched to KDE. Then I installed xrdp 0.612 and vnc4server
4.11 from the standard Debian repository to access the system by a Windows 7
computer via Remote Desktop Protocol. In  "etc/xrdp/startwm.sh", the default
line ". /etc/X11/Xsession", that would start Gnome,  was replaced by "startkde"
to ensure also rdp users see the KDE desktop. Indeed, KDE was loaded, but
produced a failure dialog box. Nevertheless, after closing the failure dialog
box, KDE seems to work fine (except 3 unusual icons in the system tray).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Installation of xrdp 0.612 and vnc4server 4.11
2. Replacement of default line ". /etc/X11/Xsession" by "startkde" in
"etc/xrdp/startwm.sh"

I was thinking more along the lines of creating a snap package for KMM.

As you know, this would encapsulate all the resources that KMM would require
with zero KDE footprint on Ubuntu.

I also see this (Kubuntu 16.04, 64 bit). Example: select the "Systems and
Settings" category. The icon for "Synaptic Package Manager" is shown in the
first row of displayed applications.

Despite it clearly being present, it cannot be found by name. In the search
box, type "package" - zero results. Type "Synaptic" - zero results. Type "Syn"
- zero results.

Curiously, if you type "Sy", I get four results, BCache Monitor,
plasma5-applets-system-panel, bumblebee-indicator and Lackadaisy. This last one
is not even in the selected category.

The original poster's comments are a little unclear, but I think I also see
this bug (running Kubuntu 16.04 LTS 64-bit: application discover/discover,
version 5.6.2, Linux (x86_64) release 4.4.0-21-generic).

In the carousel at the top of the home screen, a number of programs are shown,
along with their descriptions. The descriptive text is correctly placed
vertically, but horizontally it overflows its bounding box and extends a long
way to the right. This makes it difficult to read and it also interferes with
the description of the item to the right.

I really can only explain it like this: Spectacle saves screenshots correctly
and these screenshots can be viewed with Dolphin, Gwenview.. but for exmaple
when I try to upload that same file using Chrome it complains, depending on the
site, that it's not a valid file, it's size is zero or that it's not the right
format. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take a screenshot
2. Try to upload anywhere using non KDE software
3. Errors happen

Actual Results:  
Non KDE software can't open images.

Expected Results:  
Image works fine everywhere.

The mime type is fine and here's an interesting bit, if I import the image to
Inkscape and export it the image then works.

Sorry, still no useful backtrace.

showing ok, then I upgraded some packages including a new set of icons and it
disappeared although dropbox is still running in the background, its annoying
since I can't even uninstall dropbox from the system as it says it isn't
installedhowever I just wanted to know if there was any fix for the dropbox
icon missing? thanks

Since in kshisen (Help/About KDE)  no KDE version is indicated I infer from 
the installed Fedora package libkdegames-15.12.3-1.fc23.x86_64
that current KDE version is 15.12. 

The kshisen configuration is: 
1) General/gravity is on and the 3 other options are off. 
Board difficulty: Hard
Piece Removal Speed: Fast
Board Size: 30x16
2) Tiles: Tradional
3) Background: Egyptian
