[digikam] [Bug 325655] MIGRATION : after MySQL to Sqlite database conversion, random tags are assigned to new images

Swati,

This problem is certainly due to the famous bug about lft and rgt ID assigned
of tags in Mysql DB.

As this bug is fixed now, a fresh Mysql DB converted to SQlite will not have
this problem.

For older Mysql DB, where ID confusion still exists, i think nothing can be
changed/fixed.

So, the first stage for this bug is to try to convert a large Tags hierarchy
from fresh Mysql DB to Sqlite to see if problem remain.

Hi mdhirsch,

Sorry, I forgot to mention what my system looks like:
4.4.0-31-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 13 00:07:12 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64
x86_64 GNU/Linux
with KDE Plasma 5.5.5 (QT 5.5.1)

For example, I don't have a conf file in .kde/share. Did you try to modify it
there? Maybe it could also help to restrict the access to read only...

The bug is more than 4years old and no one seems to care :(

No, looks like your project has no composite transition. Did you update mlt to
latest git?

melt -query transitions | grep qt

Should give you qtblend as output. Can you check?

There are several folders (at this time 6), and several files (at this time
around 10).
I see sometimes that it happen, when a file change the size (for example at end
of the download, or copying). But frequently I don't do anything. Maybe there
is something changed by other system components at that time. It is difficult
to say.

The question is where Mysql database request chunk size are defined ? I don't
remember a place in DK database interface where something is hardcoded.

Or perhaps it's in private implementation of Qt SQL driver ?

Marcel, do you have an idea for this point ?

Testing this the past 48 hours with the latest git master build on some
projects. It's coming along quite nicely. I'm not able to put clips on top of
each other, or overlapping each other, but spaced out between 1, 2, or three
video tracks without any loss in framerate playback. Great work sir!

One issue, so far. .png files don't work at all -- the transparency doesn't
reveal the clips underneath the image, whether it's right over the clip in the
timeline, or whether its a few tracks above it.

[okular] [Bug 365843] New: Have a "Save" action beside "Save As"

2016-07-18 Thread Martin Koller via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 365843
Summary: Have a "Save" action beside "Save As"
   Product: okular
   Version: 0.25.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: PDF backend
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: kol...@aon.at

When doing a review of a larger document, which might take some time to
complete, I'd like to save the document some times while working.
Currently I always need to use "Save As..." and in addition confirm the
overwrite dialog.

It would make this task much simpler if there was a "Save" action with the
CTRL-S shortcut, used in all other editors, where I would not need to select
any target file and without an additional confirmation dialog.

Reproducible: Always

Hi,

Can you specify the version of Plasma you are using, not the version of KF5 -
is it 5.7?

When you open the switcher, is the 'erratic' next activity the second on the
list, or is the switching actually skipping on to some random activity in the
list? Or is the order in the switcher unexpected?

[kdenlive] [Bug 365841] New: git master - audio meter in clip monitor not working when clip is selected in Project Bin (screenshot included)

2016-07-18 Thread Jesse via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365841

Bug ID: 365841
Summary: git master - audio meter in clip monitor not working
when clip is selected in Project Bin (screenshot
included)
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: jesse.dub...@gmail.com

When I added a clip (.mkv) into the Project Bin, I noticed that the audio meter
changed to a series of lines on the Clip Monitor. No indication of audio
activity during playback. Project monitor audio monitor, however, works fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new project (HD 1080p, 24fps)
2. Add clip (.mkv, 1904x800, 23.976fps)
3. Have selected and look at Clip Monitor and/or playback clip in Clip Monitor.

Actual Results:
Audio Monitor is showing as a series of grey horizontal bars.

Expected Results:
Audio Monitor should work like normal.

Bug discovered while using Kdenlive git master build via
ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-master.

Linux Mint 18 x64, Cinnamon 3.0.7 desktop environment.

[kdenlive] [Bug 365840] New: git master - Consider reversing order of effects stack widget: bottom effect is first, top effect is last.

2016-07-18 Thread Jesse via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365840

Bug ID: 365840
Summary: git master - Consider reversing order of effects stack
widget: bottom effect is first, top effect is last.
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: jesse.dub...@gmail.com

I noticed when really using the Properties (formerly "Effect Stack") widget,
that the order of the stack goes from top to bottom. So, the top effect is
applied first, then the ones below it. Personally, this seems a little
counter-intuitive. It's just an opinion, but I feel that the bottom effect
should be processed first, followed by the one above it, then the one above it,
and finally the one on the top.

I feel that the heirarchy of a "stack" is starting at the bottom, then building
to the top, you know?

So, I wanted to suggest that the order in which effects are processed in the
Properties widget is reversed from its current configuration. I suggest the
bottom effect be applied first, and the top effect be applied last.

Reproducible: Always

Bug/improvement suggested while using Kdenlive git master build via
ppa:kdenlive/kdenlive-master.

Linux Mint 18 x64, Cinnamon 3.0.7.

I can nab one later today when back at home, but it's pretty much ANY invite
email whether from gmail, exchange, or Kontact/Kmail/Korg itself.

However one note, I think this may be unrelated but one thing noticed was when
accepting an invite (using patch above) which was sent from a different time
zone it added it to my local timezone at the same time/ignored their time zone
specification, that may be a separate bug as I've seen multiple date-related
issues since 16.04 in Kontact but figured would mention just in case, will
submit a report for it when can confirm the results.

Git commit e33355a4d0f57a27ca50270d74b23486fd3ddf2c by Kurt Hindenburg.
Committed on 19/07/2016 at 01:37.

Add option to use the selected font's line characters

Konsole has builtin code to manually write out line characters. There
are certain reasons why this might not be desired. This adds a profile
option to use the fonts line characters. The default is as-is today
using the builtin code.

The estimated age of the universe is 14 billion years, only about 1.4e10. So
these are theoretical lifetimes incomprehensibly greater than the age of the
universe. I think it's fair to call them 'stable' and leave it as is. It might
be interesting to add another setting that lists theoretical lifetimes when a

[plasmashell] [Bug 365838] New: Weather widget loses city info with each reboot

2016-07-18 Thread Kanwar Plaha via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365838

Bug ID: 365838
Summary: Weather widget loses city info with each reboot
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.7.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: kanwar.pl...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

The default weather widget has to be reconfigured with my city name every time
the computer is restarted.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Drag weather widget to desktop or a panel
2. Configure widget to show weather for a city
3. Reboot or login/logout
4. City name/settings in the weather widget are lost

Expected Results:
The widget/plasmoid should retain city settings once configured.

I haven't marked it Minor because it is something a weather plasmoid is meant
to do. That is its only function. So, I've marked it as a normal bug.

Took a while longer than it should have, but I just noticed that:
1) I can reliably reproduce this after all with "killall kwin_x11 -9;
kwin_x11&". Always seems to happen with -9.
2) It does not only affect corner-tiled windows (any more?). Seems to have been
random that none of the (few) other windows I had open were affected before.

Repeatedly pressing meta+tab switches activities in a strange order. Sometimes
it is erratic. Sometimes it flips between the current activity and the activity
used directly prior to the current one. Pressing and holding meta and pressing
tab implements the desired behavior, which is to cycle through all activities
one at a time. This was working in Plasma 5.6.

Reproducible: Always

1. Press meta+tab a few times.

Hello
I reopen the bug because it is still valid for me.
I made the same manipulation, and there are still problems.

I have 14 files 'Test 01.jpg ... Test 14.jpg'

1) Eveything is fine in digikam. See 1st screenshot [1] with details about
'Test 10.jpg'. See for instance that this picture is geolocalised (map icon)
and camera is Panasonic.

2) I delete 'Test 07.jpg' and rename Test 08 -> Test 07 etc...  (outside
digikam)

3) Now in digikam, NOK: see 2d screenshot [2] with details about 'Test 09.jpg'
(which was 'Test 10' before, so same picture as above). See that this picture
is no more geolocalised (map icon) and camera is Canon. These are the
properties of picture 08 (old 09), so all the picture properties are 'shifted'.

Note: comparing [1] and [2], you see immediately that there is a problem with
the map icon (top-right side of thumbs) AND with the date (from 'Test 08',
there is now a 'Modification Date')

It's a particularly unhelpful comment. There are KDE versions, it's just that
KDE's distributed software has been - according to this
https://www.kde.org/download/ - separated in to Applications, Desktop, and
Framework and so now there are versions for all of these.

So yes with hostile pedantry one can claim "There is no KDE version."
truthfully. But also truthfully there are KDE versions, just that there is no
single KDE version as the [KDE] software has been separated out and now several
version numbers are needed to specify the full nature of the KDE software
installed.

$ sudo apt show plasma-workspace libkf5coreaddons5 | grep -E "Package|Version"

will give the Plasma Workspace and KDE framework (KF) version numbers eg on a
Kubuntu system.

Aside: TBH, that kde.org/download/ page is one of the worst web pages I've
seen, the homepage offers a big call to action "get KDE software" and that page
offers the casual explorer nothing. If you ignore the big button that promises
downloads and instead follow a news item from the homepage (eg
https://dot.kde.org/2016/07/05/kde-plasma-57) then you'll find that you get
download links with version numbers and a tiny bit of visual design to help
guide you. It looks designed to prevent people from installing KDE.

If the Qt bug is resolved, but Konsole/Kate/KWrite/Calligra are still not
working as expected, you would need to report this separately for these

[partitionmanager] [Bug 365789] Add partition manager to system settings

2016-07-18 Thread Andrius Štikonas via KDE Bugzilla

Andrius Štikonas changed:

The main reason why late Volker Lanz decided to remove KDE Partition Manager
KCM module (i.e. systemsettings module) is that you can't easily make it have
all same features as standalone application. And this confuses people a lot
since they think that KCM module is the whole application.

Root privileges is another problem. Hopefully KPM will not require root in the
future but it is still quite some time in the future.

In addition, writing KCM module would require to spend a lot of manpower (which
we don't have that much and it is better spend on other things) on another UI
which will only be useful to Plasma users. KDE Partition Manager is obviously a
KDE project but it might be useful to other users too, it even has some
features that Gparted lacks (vice versa too, gparted does some things we
don't).

I couldn't get SuperHans' idea to work for me. The system I tested on is an

On my system, I could see that ~/.kde/share/config/kglobalshortcutsrc gets
overwritten on KDE start-up. So I tried creating a small
~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc but that didn't seem to have any effect.

Are you sure? OP here does not even mention any problems with resolution.
However he complains on arrangement of _panels_ – "Now it always happens that
all panels are overlaid on the Full HD screen, which I set-up as primary." In
addition if you read comments on bug 356225 people complain on many different
things not being restored, not only panels. That bug should really be renamed
as it's not only about panels.

> bug 356225 got manifest in KDE 5.4, this one was introduced by KScreen 5.7.0.

OP writes "With the latest update to 5.7 I have to reconfigure my screens after
every start." indeed but that's what many people (including me) had been doing
for a long time now. I guess there must have been some other change in addition
to update to Plasma 5.7 which triggered behavior described by OP but witnessed
by many people much earlier.
