[plasmashell] [Bug 365836] "next activity" and "previous activity" shortcuts erratic
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365836 --- Comment #2 from Michael--- Hello - I'm on KDE Neon, so as of today Plasma 5.7.2. It does seem erratic but I think I figured out the pattern. If I press Meta+Q to pull up the activities list, the activities move around the list. The top activity is the current one. "Next Activity" always moves to the second item on the list. "Previous Activity" moves to the last item on the list. So with three activities it's like a shell game, the activities switch around erratically as the list is flipped around with the activity itself changing simultaneously. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 356225] Panel moves to wrong screen when external monitor is connected
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356225 --- Comment #156 from jamese--- I was able to duplicate the issue of moving/migrating panels yesterday on KDE Neon User / Plasma 5.7.1 packages / Qt 5.7.0 with X Intel driver. I had my laptop plugged into a DisplayPort (1.1) screen @ 2560x1440. It's a Dell U2711. DP1 is left of Laptop Screen. Both had/have panels at the top screen edge, which is my preferred position for panels. When I pulled the cable the panel on the Laptop screen blanked for < 1 second then came back with the panel, I put the plug back in and the DP1 screen came back with the panel on it in the correct position. All Good! I repeated the above again and the panel disappeared from the Laptop screen, plugging DP1 back in the screens flickered then DP1 came back up with the correct backgrounds but the panel from the Laptop screen was overlaid over the DP1 panel. There was no panel left on the Laptop Screen. Unplugging the DP1 screen and the Laptop screen is then left with no panel at all. I right click on the desktop and choose "Add Panel > Default Panel" and I can get the panel back but now have 3 panels when I plug back in DP1. Two on DP1 at the top, one on Laptop at the bottom. I removed one of the duplicate panels on DP1, unplugged DP1 and replugged it after a few seconds and the duplicate panel came back for about 5 seconds then disappeared on it's own. I've now unplugged and replugged the screen about 10 times and cannot reproduce the issue with the moving panels at all. So it seems to be a transient problem that is difficult to reproduce, at least for me. One further thing of interest is that If I drag a Chrome window from DP1 to Laptop then unplug DP1 and replug it in after a few seconds, the Chrome window moves back to DP1 rather than staying on Laptop. I'm no KDE/Qt coder but it seems to me that KDE doesn't record the screen "ID" that a Window/Panel/Widget was on? If I put a Window/Panel on Laptop Screen it should stay on Laptop Screen forever and never be moved by the system. Likewise, in my three screen setup where I have two MST DP screens (Panels placed at top) above with the Laptop Screen centred below them (panel placed at bottom), the panels should always remain on the screens that I placed them on. Why would I want them to be moved if I placed them in a preferred position and why would I want the Chrome window to move back to the screen I just moved it off ? Linking a Window/Panel to a screen would completely avoid the problem of having a panel from a Laptop screen move to a screen that's been unplugged and is no longer active. Maybe that's already done and it's not working, I don't know! If one of the devs has a testing process that would help them nail this bug I'd be really really happy to help out testing updated packages on my multi-screen setups. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Scrolling and volume keys change the volume of the de-facto default device (Built-in audio), even if there's a different audio device with higher priority. (Fun fact: kmix used to do (and still does) that). For example, my USB sound card has the highest priority. If it's plugged in, all audio goes to the USB sound card. If it's not, then built-in audio takes all the sound. Scrolling over the icon/volume keys always change volume of built-in audio, even if all my sound plays on USB sound card. It would be preferable if volume keys (and scrolling over the speaker icon in the taskbar) would change sound level of either: A) all hardware devices (possibly ignoring virtual sinks) or B) a currently active device with highest priority (ignoring unplugged, broken or unused audio devices that may have higher priority) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365799 --- Comment #12 from Artur O.--- (In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #10) > The corruption looks very much like a driver bug, you see the buffer tiles > which partially contain junk. > Could be a buffer_age issue - check glxinfo for general support and in case > KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0 kwin_x11 --replace & > > https://community.kde.org/KWin/Environment_Variables#KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE > > On > > laptop screen stops updating while the second monitor works fine > > Can you please dump the supportInformation again, but this time after > attaching the screen and when one screen is dead (given that kwin actually > responds in this state) > Also, does restarting the compositor (SHIFT+Alt+F12, twice) resolve the > state as well? > > --- > nb: this is on Qt 5.7.0 ... Well I played with this at work today. * You can drag/move windows when its "frozen", mouse updates as usual when draging occurs just it won't update the screen/window position other than the mouse. * When toggling compositing with with the combination the moment you turn compositing off the screen updates quickly as nothing has happend. The freeze will also only occur when compositing is enabled. Turning compositing off with the combination and then plugging in the external monitor just works. * I tried the 'KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0 kwin_x11 --replace &' but the corruption still occurs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 365684] Tags Manager : Crash when deleting a tag from the list of tags
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365684 --- Comment #15 from Olli Lupton--- Hi, I just tried, I get the same crash using the GUI on the right-hand-side as well. I have tried experimenting with a clean database + 1 blank-white JPG created in an image editor (=> no tags initially) Remove DB files -> start digikam -> choose collection location -> add tag (Test) to file (gives 'Tag name already exists' error but apparently succeeds) -> Apply -> close digikam -> restart digikam -> (tags list now shows 'People' in addition to 'Test') -> delete 'Test' -> crash This crashes reliably for my main user account. I tried to replicate in a 'clean' user account on the same machine, but there the same prescription does not crash. I am, therefore, wondering if there is some bit of old configuration lurking somewhere that I am failing to clean up, and that is causing the problem (somehow). Currently to make a 'fresh' start I am deleting the three .db files, and removing ~/Library/Preferences/digikam* Is there some other configuration or cache hidden somewhere else? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 361360] git master - playback speed/framerate slows WAY down when using video clips in multiple tracks in timeline (video example included)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361360 --- Comment #19 from Jesse--- Updated. Preliminary testing shows that (1) Composite icons are back, (2) clips playback smoothly when overlapping other clips in timeline, (3) transparency works with .png files, and (4) title clips are working as well in conjunction with all of the other clips mentioned. These all seem to be working in various combinations with different tracks. Looks like you nailed it!!! Killer, sir! This is a huge leap in workflow and performance for Kdenlive. Can't thank you enough for your time in improving this. :) I'm going to send this bug to the mailing list to have others confirm that they can confirm the fix as well (they may have video files that I don't have, different framerate, etc.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 365821] Content of some windows not being updated
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365821 --- Comment #5 from Thomas Lübking--- if it does even happen with xrender chances are good the client simply stops causing damage events (for whatever reason) you probably tried all backends on the same instance? can you cause it on xrender after a logout and fresh emacs process? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 364633] windows sometimes are translated downwards (mostly on kwin crash / kill -9 + restart)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364633 --- Comment #9 from unsuspicious.fakename+kdeb...@gmail.com --- Phew... this is a bit messy, but I think: Konqueror, Qsynth and Smplayer are affected by the bug. Dolphin, Konsole, Qtcreator are NOT affected. Pretty much all gtk applications I tried are affected. claws-mail (gtk+ 2) and Firefox gain "immunity" while it is full height (does not have to be maximized, just vertically maximized or tiled to one half of the screen)... if it's less then full height, it is affected, too. Other apps like xfce terminal seem to always be affected unless they are full screen. And Dragon player expands downwards out of the screen (gets bigger) instead of wandering downwards, but only if it is corner-tiled in the lower half. Otherwise it is not affected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
