[digikam] [Bug 355831] MySQL Schema Improvements

2016-07-19 Thread Richard Mortimer via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355831

The only thing that I am aware of that potentially needs addressing in MySQL is
the TagsTree support. I did note that there were some other issues addressing
that so it may already have been resolved.

[kwin] [Bug 364633] windows sometimes are translated downwards (mostly on kwin crash / kill -9 + restart)

2016-07-19 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364633

--- Comment #5 from unsuspicious.fakename+kdeb...@gmail.com ---
The crashes and freezes are unrelated issues (probably both upstream: crashes
could be kernel, freezes nvidia; don't know yet) and as far as I can tell they
aren't the (root / only) cause of the window position problem, they just lead
to it happen much more frequently. I have not been able to account for the
cause of the window position change every time it happened, but the crashes /
freezes can happen without "window bug" and the other way around.

[kwin] [Bug 365827] Display window icon in Desktop Grid

2016-07-19 Thread apache via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365827

I read it but my idea doesn't change anything in functionality and doesn't
require to rewrite everything in terms of what function does what. I only want
icons. And my request is justifiable as seen on screenshot. There are only two
desktops there. Everyone can imagine or check that nothing would be
recognizable on four desktops.

My request has nothing to do with how users use present windows and desktop
grid because their functionality is different. Present windows cannot be used
to drag windows from one screen to another.

!!!
Why in Present windows icons are justified and in Desktop grid are not
justified? When clearly icons have nothing to do with effects but are only
about easier way to recognize which window represent which application.

My idea has nothing against your idea abut merging effects but your idea from
what I understand is not against my idea (especially when you cannot implement
your idea).

I think you wrongly assume that I use Desktop grid for switching windows. No I
don't. I use Desktop grid to drag windows from one screen to another. Icons
will only make it easier for me.

[kwin] [Bug 365827] Display window icon in Desktop Grid

2016-07-19 Thread Martin Gräßlin via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365827

I'm sorry, but neither Desktop Grid nor Present Windows won't see any
implementation changes any more without the rewrite I talk about. It just won't
happen. The code base is too fragile to be extended - even for something which
looks as minor as adding icons. I cannot justify breakage with a visual change.
Won't happen.

I use KDE Plasma 5.5.5
version of Qt : 5.5.1
Kernel : 4.4.0-31 generic
OS : 64 bits
CPU : 2 x AMD A4-6300 with Radeon HD Graphics
Memory : 5 Go
The screen is connected in HDMI (but the problem exists also on a notebook, and
the screen is not in HDMI)

When i use my computer this morning, the problem arrived very quickly, when i
used Thunderbird . Thunderbird refused to close by : --> File --> Close. So i
close my session.
As it was the beginning of the day. I thought it will be interesting to have
snapshots of the different log files : so i attach them to this response.
A strange thing : when an application like Dolphin (yesterday) had the same
problem, it accepts to close by : File --> Close ... BUT in the taskbar it
appears (image1)

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Just activate the VPN for the office. It is based on Google authenticator with
openvpn: I get a small window asking me to enter the 6-digits code and crashes
(the window stays there and I can enter the code and connect the VPN.)

- Custom settings of the application:
This always happens when activating the VPN. I can provide more info on that if
needed.
I use:

I mean I'm sure "Finish line" is broken down now... But I'm not 100% sure about
if this is really by Stabilizer fix. Simply it looks like these Stabilizer fix
destroyed "Finish line". I have noticed these stop of working ("Finish line")
in build with Stabilizer fix, earlier it has worked ok.

[kwin] [Bug 364633] windows sometimes are translated downwards (mostly on kwin crash / kill -9 + restart)

2016-07-19 Thread Thomas Lübking via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364633

This does *only* affect "quick tiled" windows, right?
What's the state after this happens (window still quick tiled, ie. dragging it
away from the corner restores some size)?

NB: this *only* matters if the problem did NOT occur for a kwin restart (after
kill/segfault/etc.) for the quick tiled state is then lost for sure.

Also, which decoration do you use?

On a general remark, please stop killing -9 unless you really know that you
want it.
-15 is the default (SIGTERM) and should be sufficient, you can provoke
"segfaults" w/ -11 (SIGSEGV)
You can also use symbols ("kill -l" for a list)

SIGKILL means that the kernel removes the process and is really about the worst
of all choices for nothing in the process (incl. libGL) has even a remote
chance to do some cleanup to leave behind a sane context.

We decided not to show up tun connections as displaying them is useless for
majority of users. We already show the active VPN connection which user
activates using NetworkManager and the tun connection would be like a

Git commit 4b69f8708e63beaf242d1114aba070a336260341 by Sebastian Kügler.
Committed on 19/07/2016 at 13:57.
Pushed by sebas into branch 'master'.

kscreen kcm: block changed signal after save

Summary:
When changing position (and potentially other properties) of the screen
setup, we receive delayed signals way after the sync operation finishes.
This enables the apply button after the config has been applied, leading
to the apply/discard confirmation dialog when closing (or navigating
away from) the kscreen kcm.

This patch disables propagation of the changed() signal at the highest
level, meaning that config widgets internally still get updated, but the
apply button only gets enabled after 1000 milliseconds. This magic value
is what I've figured out by testing. It's long enough to re-request edid
information on two outputs, but short enough to get in the way from
further changes.

I'm not super-happy with the timer, but I don't see any other way to fix
this glitch in the user experience. We don't really have a way on X11 to
know when all changes are flushed.

Test Plan: Tested systemsettings and kcmshell, with this patch, it works
reliably and doesn't get in the way.

I am not sure I agree with you here. If it is difficult to reach at the top,
how did you reach the (sub)menu in first place?

[systemsettings] [Bug 365864] New: Display layout preview renders off-window in Display Configuration using Wayland

2016-07-19 Thread Eric Hermes via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365864

Bug ID: 365864
Summary: Display layout preview renders off-window in Display
Configuration using Wayland
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.7.1
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
   URL: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45069517/plasma_wa
yland_offscreen.png
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ericher...@gmail.com

In Display and Monitor: Display Configuration, the display layout preview
renders even if it is scrolled off-window. This only happens when logged into a
Wayland Plasma session.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log into a Wayland Plasma session
2. Navigate to System Settings: Display and Monitor: Display Configuration
3. Scroll down in "Manage and configure monitors and displays"

Actual Results:
The display layout preview continues to be rendered over the window chrome and
even outside of the System Settings window.

Expected Results:
The display layout preview is hidden by the window chrome, and does not render
outside of the System Settings window.

I am using Gentoo with Plasma 5.7.1, KDE Frameworks 5.24.0, and KDE Apps
16.04.3. Here are the results of emerge --info kde-plasma/systemsettings:

https://gist.github.com/ehermes/b34efdfadbefa23d5b087c9fdd8d0835

The system is running in VMWare Workstation 12 Pro version 12.1.1. I have
open-vm-tools (from the vmware github repository) version 10.0.0 installed. I
am using the vmwgfx DRM driver built into the Linux kernel (version 4.6.4).

[kwin] [Bug 364633] windows sometimes are translated downwards (mostly on kwin crash / kill -9 + restart)

2016-07-19 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364633

--- Comment #7 from unsuspicious.fakename+kdeb...@gmail.com ---
Oh... I only had quick tiled windows... is resizing them all a bit enough to
test if it happens to other windows? If so, then: Most normal windows except
for maximized ones seem to be affected (at least when I trigger it with kill
-9. I'll leave some windows floating around to see if behaviour is the same
when it happens on its own over the course of the next few days).

Using "Breeze" decorations.

I noticed that "Dolphin" (at the moment at least, with kill -9) does not seem
to be affected, which is weird. Many gtk and at least some qt applications are
affected. Recompiled one of the affected applications (smplayer "Using Qt 5.7.0
/ compiled with Qt 5.6.0") but it's still affected now that it has been
compiled with Qt 5.7.0.

---
( I normally only use -9 on kwin, when an instance of kwin freezes with 100%
cpu and can't be killed or replaced in other ways... nvidia libgl or something
on that lvl might be what causes those freezes in the first place, so asking it
nicely to stop just doesn't work. )

[systemsettings] [Bug 365865] New: Display resolution setting in Display Configuration not obeyed in Wayland Plasma session

2016-07-19 Thread Eric Hermes via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 365865
Summary: Display resolution setting in Display Configuration

  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

When attempting to change the resolution of my display in a Wayland Plasma
session, the setting in System Settings: Display and Monitor: Display
Configuration is not obeyed. When changing the resolution in the Resolution
drop down menu and then selecting "Apply", nothing happens.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log into Wayland Plasma session
2. Navigate to System Settings: Display and Monitor: Display Configuration
3. Change resolution in the drop down menu
4. Click "Apply"

Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
The display resolution changes to the selected resolution

I am only able to change the resolution of a Wayland Plasma session by
configuring a resolution for Grub using kernel mode-setting. This resolution is
kept throughout the boot sequence and into a Wayland session.

I am using VMWare Workstation 12 Pro version 12.1.1 with the open-vm-tools
(from the VMWare github repository) version 10.0.0 and the vmwgfx DRM driver
built into the Linux kernel (version 4.6.4). When logging into an X11 Plasma
session, the display resolution is constantly updated to fit the VMWare
Workstation window on the host.

I am using Gentoo with Plasma 5.7.1, KDE Frameworks 5.24.0, and KDE Apps
16.04.3. Here are the results of emerge --info kde-plasma/systemsettings:

2016-07-19 Thread Hans-Peter Jansen via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 365866
Summary: When using a KDE4 color scheme with contrast=0, KF5
uses a background gradient anyway
   Product: Oxygen
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: style
  Assignee: hugo.pereira.da.co...@gmail.com
  Reporter: h...@urpla.net

Try attached color scheme, it's a little different to many others, but looks
but ugly with a background gradient enabled (KDE:contrast != 0)
Unfortunately, the oxygen bindings in KF5 ignore this setting, and use a
background gradient, which looks very different to KDE4.
While at it, the menu background is different, too (white in KF5, while gold in
KDE4)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. throw LISAGold.colors into $KDEHOME/.share/apps/color-schemes
2. enable LISA-Gold in systemsettings
3. switch to oxygen in KDE4 (and KF5)
4. install a KF5 app, and check the difference

Upgraded from Plasma 5.6.5 (which didn't have this issue) to 5.7.1 on a desktop
with three monitors. HDMI1 and HDMI2 have the same black, non-click-able
background (but still usable) and all panels are bunched up on HDMI3. The login
screen spans all three monitors as expected. Restarting plasma fixes the
problem (though I have to rearrange all panels immediately afterwards).

no hang occurs, so it definitely is localization specific.

qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation

Attached the qdbus output.

Wow, indeed, Alt+Shift+F12 fixes the problem. But when I enable compositioning
back, the problem appears again. Why is this?

> Hummwhat?

s/rendered/renderer, sorry, typo. I mean, I wanted to test with another
renderer (I remember there was a choice between OpenGL versions, and XRender),
but didn't find the setting, and docs
https://userbase.kde.org/Desktop_Effects_Performance#OpenGL_mode says it was
removed. Though it is probably wrong part of documentation, I ought to look at
the "Compositing type" paragraph. Anyway, I didn't find the setting either way.

The search text "mä" is for "märkmed", which means notes. When I search for
"rkmed", the "Märkmed" (notes) widget shows up just fine.

If there is anything else I can help you with, I am all ears.

[ark] [Bug 365869] New: [Libarchive] Data-loss when aborting an AddJob

2016-07-19 Thread Elvis Angelaccio via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365869

Bug ID: 365869
Summary: [Libarchive] Data-loss when aborting an AddJob
   Product: ark
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plugins
  Assignee: rthoms...@gmail.com
  Reporter: elvis.angelac...@kdemail.net
CC: elvis.angelac...@kdemail.net

See steps

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a huge tar-based archive
2. Add some file to it
3. Close Ark

Actual Results:
The original archive is gone, the resulting file is only a fraction of what it
was before.

Expected Results:
The archive should not be modified at all, since we aborted the job.

CLI-based plugins don't seem to suffer this issue.

run "kcmshell5 kwincompositing"

I second this request. I always turn off automatic transitions for my projects
as it doesn't fit my needs.
I favor the idea of a global default in the configuration.

[plasmashell] [Bug 352445] Loss of panel translucency at initial login

2016-07-19 Thread Antonis K via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352445

Antonis K changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||antk...@gmail.com

I have the same issue with kwin 5.7.1 (and for some time now) on default breeze
theme.
Even restarting kwin on the same session (kwin_x11 --replace) makes panels etc
translucent, but on initial login everything is opaque.
Tried on a fresh profile and this behavior is still present.
My hardware is intel gma x4500.
Any steps for further investigation would be greatly appreciated.

2016-07-19 Thread Constantine via KDE Bugzilla

> run "kcmshell5 kwincompositing"

Okay, I ran, and tried XRender, OpenGL-2.0, OpenGL-3.0 (both EGL and GLX).
Neither fixed the problem.

I don't know if that help, but the problem is neither present on Enlightement,
nor on Gnome, not on Awesome+Compton.

(yeah, I know, it's too many DEs, it's just, as everyone goes to Wayland, I'm
considering to use a full-fledged DE with tiling. kwin has more or less usable
tiling btw; "more or less" mostly because of an old kwin bug; but still,
non-updating content in windows is a problem)
