Git commit c31a665b8fc4be456fd29fc3303b81e21a1cbd87 by Friedrich W. H.
Kossebau.
Committed on 25/10/2016 at 05:26.
Pushed by kossebau into branch 'Applications/16.08'.

Workaround slowness of search jobs & Co. by buggy QEventDispatcherGlib

For unknown reasons QCoreApplication::processEvents(flag, maxtime) spins
the whole maxtime with QEventDispatcherGlib, something seems broken in
the event processing.
No idea why any QApplication::processEvents were called with a max time
parameter, so simply switching to the variant with no max time, where no
such bug is experienced.

@Stuart: you have a broken driver installation. The popup comes from Plasma
and not KWin. Overall that looks like a broken driver. Please contact a support
forum on how to fix the driver.

@Alex: still waiting for your glxinfo.

Yeah it's using the modesettings driver. Good.

If you have the possibility, please ssh into your system and attach gdb to kwin

[plasma-nm] [Bug 371524] Password to wi-fi is forgotten after disconnecting from my home wi-fi.

2016-10-24 Thread Jan Grulich via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371524

Open kde5-nm-connection-editor, go and configure your home connection and in
"Wireless security" tab on the line where you have password there should be a
small icon on the right, where you can switch how to store your passwords. I
would also try just not modifying connection and just save it again.

I can confirm that this works for .cbz thumbnail generation. Thank you,

Considering how (relatively) simple this fix is, hopefully it finds its way

Under OSX (and also Windows), this tool is not available because it use KIO
which is a pain to port due to complexity of runtime. We need to found
alternative to replace KIO by a pure Qt5 solution.

[krita] [Bug 371644] New: Layer docker lower buttons and zoom function frozen

2016-10-24 Thread Io via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371644

Bug ID: 371644
Summary: Layer docker lower buttons and zoom function frozen
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0.1.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Dockers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jmiannuzze...@gmail.com

Krita opens normally and allows you to open an existing file or start a new
canvas but you are unable to use the new layer/duplicate/move layer up/down/ect
buttons nor the zoom slider beneath that. The icons for the buttons are there
but they do not highlight like the tool bar buttons when you hover over them
and you cannot click on them. Uninstalling/reinstalling the program didn't
solve the problem and while the keyboard shortcuts seem to all still work (= to
zoom in, - to zoom out, ect) the buttons are just easier to use for myself.

Reproducible: Sometimes

[plasmashell] [Bug 370255] Calendar View crashes in certain months

2016-10-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370255

Small Update: After the 5.8 Update (5.8.2), the error still persists. I have
managed to switch to a tty session while reproducing this bug and started htop.
plasmashell had an unusually high cpu usage, which explains the slow mouse
movement while this bug was active, but it had an especially enormous memory
usage at around 16 (!) GiB. This also explains why this bug sometimes crashed
my whole system.

It looks like there might be some faulty allocation somewhere.

As you can see, obviously not ;). For me the definition of "default" is not
clear enough. Default of/for what? My definition of default is
standard/overall/normal/concerning everything, the meant definition is preset
for new tabs.

[KScreen] [Bug 371643] New: Kscreen display configuration is lost on reboot

2016-10-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371643

Bug ID: 371643
Summary: Kscreen display configuration is lost on reboot
   Product: KScreen
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: patrickrif...@yandex.com

(Unsure if this is considered a duplicate of Bug #361144 as the state it resets
to after a reboot is slightly different. If it is a duplicate please mark it as
so.)

Upon rebooting, display configuration of dual monitors (extended display, not
clone) is lost when set through kscreen. While both displays are still enabled
after a reboot orientation, choice of primary display and secondary display
wallpaper are incorrect and must be reconfigured. Reconfiguring will cause
settings to persist until system is rebooted at which point the settings are
reverted again.

System specifications:
KDE Plasma Version: 5.8.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.27.0
QT Version: 5.7.0
OS: Arch Linux x86_64
GPU: Intel® HD Graphics 2000 (modesetting driver in use)
Display server: Xorg

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure dual screen layout with kscreen (either through kcm or "Displays"
module)
2. Reboot system (either through Plasma menu or "sudo reboot")

Actual Results:
1. Display configuration is lost and must be reconfigured

Expected Results:
1. Display configuration persists

My monitors are connected to the motherboard's onboard VGA and DVI ports, not
though a PCI/PCI-E graphics card. Could this possibly confuse kscreen when it
detects the displays?

I am unable to test on Wayland at the present time as there are issues which
leave Plasma unusable on my particular setup.

Attempted fixes:
- Deleting all files in ~/.local/share/kscreen, rebooting and reconfiguring
- Configuring through seperate "Display" window as opposed to kcm module

This file worked fine. Rendered OK - did not hang the comptuer. It's not
exactly the same as I couldn't make it the same, I also simplified the opening
by pre-rendering it, but I'm attaching the file in case looking at this one and
the other helps you see what was causing the hang.

When changing font and/or font size in the message list and message body in the
mail component of Kontact, nothing happens. The font is listed in the
configurations dialog as being changed, and consistent opening of the dialog,
even after restarting Koncact, shows the previously selected settings but fonts
are still displayed in default font and size. The folder list fonts are able
to be changed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Mail component of Kontact.
2. Open 'Settings', 'Configure Kmail', 'Appearance' and select 'Fonts' tab.
3. Change Font or either font attribute for 'Message List' and/or 'Message
Body' and select 'Apply'

Actual Results:
After closing dialog, fonts in message list and body remain at default
settings.

Expected Results:
After closing dialog, fonts should be what user selected.

[kdevelop] [Bug 371641] New: KDevelop Icon style can not be customized.

2016-10-24 Thread michael via KDE Bugzilla

  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI: general
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: reeves...@gmail.com

The lack of themability in KDevelope appears to be by design. This didn't
bother me until I tried using 5.0.2. The first thing I noticed was that
KDevelope is not distributed in a single "appimage" file. This makes the icons
it uses by default in accessible for any sort of unsupported mod without
rebuilding the whole thing. Unfortunately the chosen default icons are breeze
themed. Which means gray scale toolbar icons. I don't use the breaze theme on
my desktop and that's why. KDevelope should be made theme able to match the
system theme regardless of what that is.

Reproducible: Always

Oh it happens all the time.

I am on Scientific Linux 7.2 and Xfce 4.12 now. The problem comes and goes.
If it drives me too crazy, all I have to do is exit Krusader and restart it.
About 1/2 the time is clears up and stays that way until I restart Krusader.
This has the odor of an uninitialized variable. If you guys come up with some
kind of trace/debug that would show you were the problem exists, please let me
assist.

[kipiplugins] [Bug 363913] Improve export menu structure

I would second Jens comment about the repeated 'Export to' labels in the Export
menu, it looks amateurish now, especially without the suggested grouping.

As a hack, I'd suggest encoding something that strips out contributed menu
entries when the context is known (i.e. under the Export menu)

if (menuLabel.startsWith("Export to ")  {
menuLabel = menuLabel.remove("Export to ")
}

[systemsettings] [Bug 371640] New: File type assocations override Gnome preferences

2016-10-24 Thread piedro via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371640

Bug ID: 371640
Summary: File type assocations override Gnome preferences
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_filetypes
  Assignee: fa...@kde.org
  Reporter: piedro.kul...@googlemail.com

As I understand there is a file for desktop specific mime type preferences:

The file association dialog doesn't write to "~/.config/kde-mimeapps.list".

This leads to overlap with the Gnome desktop preferences. The mechanism for
using a desktop specific file type association file is already there
implemented in the XDG standard - it should clearly be used.

Otherwise users have to reset their association preferences every time they
start another DE.
Or build their mime type lists manually which seems a bit challenging...

Please just change the location where the file type associations are stored so
they only apply to KDE and do not interfere with the preferences of Gnome and
XFCE and what ever else there is by using the intended methods...

thx for reading,
piedro

Reproducible: Always

Any progress on this item? I'm not seeing any option to export selected images
to the local file system (on v5.2 OSX). All the Export-related options refer
to online services instead.. all of which would seem harder to implement
than this 'basic' functionality.

Client fails to start. I get the activity timer ticking as if it is going to
load, then it vanishes without starting. Yet I get the notifications that
emails are arriving.

So I can't view the mail boxes nor send emails.

So where do I look to find what the problem is?

One option I have is to use thunderbird... but I would need to disable Kmail
entirely. Obviously the part that polls the pop server every 5 minutes is still
working.

Reproducible: Always

[valgrind] [Bug 371471] Valgrind complains about non legit memory leaks on placement new (C++)

2016-10-24 Thread Tom Hughes via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371471

Tom Hughes changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |FIXED

So this is the leak it is reporting:

==24123== 72,704 bytes in 1 blocks are still reachable in loss record 1 of 1
==24123==at 0x62228BAD: malloc (in
/usr/lib64/valgrind/vgpreload_memcheck-amd64-linux.so)
==24123==by 0x624C0A5F: ??? (in /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6.0.22)
==24123==by 0x6160CD89: call_init.part.0 (in /usr/lib64/ld-2.23.so)
==24123==by 0x6160CE9A: _dl_init (in /usr/lib64/ld-2.23.so)
==24123==by 0x615FDCB9: ??? (in /usr/lib64/ld-2.23.so)

So it's nothing to do with the placement new but rather is some initialisation
inside the standard library. It's also still reachable when the program
terminates, so not really a leak at all, which is why the details aren't shown
by default.

In the newly released 3.12.0 it goes away anyway because we now call the
libstdc++ cleanup routine at exit by default.

I'm also seeing this, specifically for HTML only emails (ie. no text/plain part

The attached file is a simple email that shows the problem with a
multipart/related - On hitting reply the quoted text is 'Image1' which is the
data for the first attached image, not the expected 'HTML Text'.

Thanks, this helps to identify the root cause.

The root cause looks to be a problem of resolving forward declared uml objects.
On loading the file the objects named LOST_... are referenced in a diagram
widget, but are later defined in the file.

[kdenlive] [Bug 371630] Kdenlive Causes Full System Lockup

2016-10-24 Thread Eric Mesa via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371630

One more thing before this gets too spammy (if it's not already there) - I was
able to render a 47 second file from the Canon Rebel T6s without any effects on
it - without a hard crash.

So to recap:
1) Doesn't appear to simply be the video file
2) Even in the Kdenlive Alpha Appimage - with the same kdenlive file it hard
crashes.

Right now it seems to my mind (someone who's technical, but not when it comes
to coding a non-linear video editor) that the most likely culprit seems to be
the kdenlive file.

I'm going to attempt to recreate it as best as I can (obviously, I won't be
able to get the cut points exact) and see if that fixes the issue.

[kdenlive] [Bug 371630] Kdenlive Causes Full System Lockup

2016-10-24 Thread Eric Mesa via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371630

Eric Mesa changed:

I don't know what this tells you, but I ran the new alpha App Image you guys
posted today and had the same issue - crash on a render. So I bumped up the
version number.

On the theory that it's maybe a corrupt kdenlive file or something like that -
basically, I had a template already set up with the way I wanted things, but it
was from the older version of kdenlive. Also, an asset had been deleted and I
was using a placeholder asset. So maybe something's borked on there? So I'm
going to try rendering one of the Canon Rebel T6s files from the same hard
drive in a brand new kdenlive file and see what happens.

[systemsettings] [Bug 371636] New: Allow to choose Background Images from Wallpapers / Gallery

2016-10-24 Thread richardlm via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371636

Bug ID: 371636
Summary: Allow to choose Background Images from Wallpapers /
Gallery
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_sddm
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: richard.l...@gmail.com

Currently when one wants to set a custom background he is only presented with a
file picker. It is not possible to select pictures from the wallpapers gallery.
This is really bad from user perspective, because one can use GHNS to get new
wallpapers, but they are stored somewhere (nobody knows), so one cannot select
them as a background.

Therefore I suggest to present two options upon click on set background image:
- Choose from Gallery...
- Load from File...
(and Clear)

This is also how it is handled in the select avatar option of the user manager
KCM.

Reproducible: Always

[digikam] [Bug 371635] New: dK freezes often when moving to next photo

2016-10-24 Thread Erik Herlé via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371635

Bug ID: 371635
Summary: dK freezes often when moving to next photo
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.2.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: AlbumsView
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: erik.herle+digi...@gmail.com

In order to weed out imported pictures I use the Rejected/Pending/Accepted
labels to qualify them. I use the keyboard shortcuts (Alt+0 .. Alt+3) to assign
a label and the cursor keys to move to the next picture. After a couple of
label picks, dK does not respond to my cursor keys (Left or PgDn) to move the
next picture. I have to mouseclick the current/next picture and then I can use
the cursor keys again.

It is impossible to process an imported batch entirely by keyboard, I am forced
to use mouse over and over again after a couple of picks. Usually it happens
after 2 to 4 picks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
See details above.

Actual Results:
See details above.

Expected Results:
I want to be able to process my imported photos entirely with my keyboard. That
is the fastest way to process them. So I would expect that is not necessary any
more to mouseclick a picture to continue the process.

[kdenlive] [Bug 371630] Kdenlive Causes Full System Lockup

2016-10-24 Thread Eric Mesa via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371630

Some extra comments I was thinking of:

1) Might not be the hard drive that has those clips, maybe it's because they're
clips that came from a Canon Rebel T6s. I've been able to use it in the past
without issue, but perhaps something in one of the dependencies for Kdenlive
has changed.

2) Just experienced the lockup on Rendering twice - same file.

3) I'm using Nvidia proprietary drivers - latest RPMFusion RPMs

4) Info on one of the video files based on VLC:
Video codec: H264 part 10 avc1
Frame rate: 29.9
1920x1080 resolution

5) I had to switch to the gstreamer backend instead of VLC backend in KDE and
the video file doesn't play. But I think based on when I had top running that
Kdenlive calls ffmpeg

[valgrind] [Bug 371471] Valgrind complains about non legit memory leaks on placement new (C++)

2016-10-24 Thread Tom Hughes via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371471

I'm pretty sure it's not the same anyway as the other bug is about static
objects, and there are none here. This is almost certainly something different
- the fact that it is reporting two allocations suggests that it is trapping
the placement new and treating it as a real allocation that is then never
freed.

Git commit ae39d79a9b9c6898cb4d54fd95cd59c388e93d85 by Timothée Giet.
Committed on 24/10/2016 at 21:28.
Pushed by timotheegiet into branch 'master'.

I noticed this bug came from mainWindow->showOpenFileDialog();
I first replaced it with a standard QFileDialog::getOpenFileName();, which
worked, but didn't have all the properties set.
So I copied showOpenFileDialog there, and issue is gone.
It's maybe not the cleanest fix, but it does work.

Pushed by timotheegiet into branch 'master'.

I noticed this bug came from mainWindow->showOpenFileDialog();
I first replaced it with a standard QFileDialog::getOpenFileName();, which
worked, but didn't have all the properties set.
So I copied showOpenFileDialog there, and issue is gone.
It's maybe not the cleanest fix, but it does work.

[kdenlive] [Bug 371630] New: Kdenlive Causes Full System Lockup

2016-10-24 Thread Eric Mesa via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 371630
Summary: Kdenlive Causes Full System Lockup
   Product: kdenlive

Fedora 24
KDE 5.26
QT 5.6.1
MLT 6.2.0
AMD 8 Core
24GB RAM

Recently started having an issue with Kdenlive. As far as I can tell it's only
involving raw footage on a particular hard drive (although that could be a red
herring). I had top running the other day after dealing with this issue and
trying to debug it. CPU usage that top said was due to Kdenlive went past 100%
and then it locked up.

I can't control-alt-F# to any other terminal. I can't activate num lock or caps
lock. The mouse doesn't move. The screen doesn't update. The fan on the CPU
remains full speed. I waited 10 minutes - it did not unlock itself.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I have the following in the terminal when
I run kdenlive:

Ok, I can see crash in neon myself now. Indeed as Vishal wrote earlier, crash
is gone after rebuilding exactly the same source code.

So I'm almost sure this bug is just due to ABI break in kpmcore and partition
manager was not recompiled in neon dev edition...

If that's not the case please reopen this bug once newer package reaches neon
(I'm not sure when it will be though).

Please provide a .deb or .rpm to download!

dev stable edition has the same package as dev unstable (where kpmcore is newer
than partitionmanager).

But I think today there was a new build of partitionmanager, so it would be
interesting to see if anything changes once it gets into neon repos.

Unfortunately console output is not really useful... There isn't anything that
could help to find this crash.

The workaround doesn't help - I still can't change the *.aac association. If I
do it just jumps back to audacious in my case.

Also there is no way to reset all the mime types or at least one by one to

The button "load defaults in the systemsettings is just greyed out.

Frustrating because this seems a major problem for anyone actually working on
KDE.

I took a look at the source code and found the problem.

When the archive is a rar file the thumbnailer has an algorithm to identify the
presence of an unrar binary and when it finds one in the path it calls it with
"--version" but both that unrar and rar binaries do not accept that argument
and instead they expect arguments to have a single dash (just "-version").

I tested this with a dirty hack (tm) by moving /usr/bin/unrar to
/usr/bin/unrar-bin and replacing it with the a bash script and the thumbnails
are now being generated correctly.

For anyone interested, the script looks like this (do not forget to "chmod
755"):

#!/bin/bash
if [ "$1" = "--version" ]; then
exec unrar-bin -version
fi
exec unrar-bin "$@"

[krita] [Bug 371542] Pen Pressure has stopped working completely, Items in dropdown menus do not appear

2016-10-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371542

Apologies for the double post, I'm still trying to figure out how to use this
website properly. Removing both files seems to have solved the issue, thanks
for your help.

The kritarc file has been posted as an attachment. I tried uploading
kritashortcutsrc as well but get an error message. If there is a preferred
method of sharing files please let me know, I will be keeping them until I can
send them off properly.

it's because I open the old project (Umbrello 1.18.x) in the new version.
I solved by delete that lost class and rewrite them again in new version. this
fixed my problem .

[krusader] [Bug 371582] [2.5.0] Wrong representation of files and paths with Russian names (ru_RU.UTF-8)

2016-10-24 Thread Sergey via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371582

In Konqueror and other browsers files are displayed correctly. They also were
displayed correctly in 2.4.0_beta3-r2 version of Krusader. The only problem is
with Krusader-2.5.0. The problem may also be related to fresh Gentoo ebuild of
Krusader I have. IDK.

[krunner] [Bug 365855] Krunner's "Recent documents" results still there after "forgetting" recent docs in appdashboard

2016-10-24 Thread piedro via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365855

piedro changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||piedro.kul...@googlemail.co
   ||m

I think there might be even a bit more of a problem.

Also krunner shows documents from folders I excluded beforehand. I do backups
for customers, projects and other machines. I exclude these folders from
searching and indexing obviously.

Krunner still finds stuff that doesn't belong to me. So it seems that the
settings for indexing and excluding folders from recent documents doesn't do
the job.

Also excluding some folders or patterns at a later time should delete them out
of the database.

Please ignore this comment if I misunderstood your approach and my concerns are
already included in the proposed solution. A users history of recent activities
and documents as useful as is should be the first focus of system security in
my opinion...

thx for reading, p.
