[extra-cmake-modules] [Bug 373175] New: _XOPEN_SOURCE needs to be defined when using -std=iso9899:1990
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373175 Bug ID: 373175 Summary: _XOPEN_SOURCE needs to be defined when using -std=iso9899:1990 Product: extra-cmake-modules Version: 5.28.0 Platform: Compiled Sources OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: alex.me...@kde.org Reporter: awil...@adelielinux.org CC: ecm-bugs-n...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 102573 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=102573&action=edit KDECompilerSettings: Ensure POSIX correctness When building on non-glibc Unix platforms, such as Solaris, NetBSD, and Linux/musl or Linux/uclibc, multiple components of KF5 fail to build. This is because -std=iso9899:1990 is specified (for strict C90 compliance) but _XOPEN_SOURCE is not defined, so none of the POSIX interfaces are exported. I have seen this reported in at least: * kscreenlocker * plasma-workspace The attached patch resolves this issue on all our build boxes; additionally, applying it to my glibc builder did not change the already working result. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[konsole] [Bug 367882] FileFilter implementation cause konsole cpu usage to go to 80-100%
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367882 Alexander changed: What|Removed |Added CC||alex3...@mail.ru --- Comment #8 from Alexander --- Created attachment 102564 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=102564&action=edit Program, that illustrates regexp slowness on complex regexps I found a good test case when FileFilter causes consuming a lot of CPU: echo '/' And move the mouse inside the window. The big regular expression is formed from mimeDatabase.allMimeTypes(). If you have more than 1000 mime types registered (it is 992 in default Kubuntu 16.10 installation) the pcre jit compiler generates very slow code. I created small python program to illustrate this behaviour. $ python3 slow_regexp.py 1000 in 0.08 sec 1001 in 4.62 sec The constant 1000 is rec_limit in pcre_compile.c: http://vcs.pcre.org/pcre/code/trunk/pcre_compile.c?view=markup It seems, that other mechanism than mimeDatabase.allMimeTypes() is needed to create the regexp. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdevelop] [Bug 373156] New: Allow build targets to be specified per project item.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373156 Bug ID: 373156 Summary: Allow build targets to be specified per project item. Product: kdevelop Version: 5.0.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: all build tools Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: bunge...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I'm currently creating a IBuildSystemManager for GN project.json files. See https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/master/tools/gn/docs/reference.md#Generic-JSON-Output for some details (this is the build system being used by Chromium). Because GN supports multiple toolchains in a single build it is not possible to always create phony rules with the expected names, so the only way to ensure that one is building the correct thing is to use the full non-phony ninja target name when building. One of the issues I'm running into because of this is that the current ninja builder (like the other builders) really wants to use the 'text()' or 'path()' of project items directly as ninja targets to use. This can be exceedingly awkward since full non-phony target names must be used as the user visible names in the project view and makes it basically impossible to build source files (the UI doesn't directly allow it, but adding them to the 'Build Sequence' works, but then the file path isn't what ninja expects because it's been made absolute). It would be much more flexible if the IBuildSystemManager had two additional methods like bool IBuildSystemManager::isBuildable(KDevelop::ProjectBaseItem* item) which would return 'true' if the UI should allow building this item (and it could return true for ProjectFileItems in particular). Then QSet IBuildSystemManager::buildTargets(KDevelop::ProjectBaseItem* item) which would actually calculate and return which targets should be built for the given item. This approach isn't very different from how IBuildSystemManager::includeDirectories and IBuildSystemManager::defines currently work except for actual building instead of parsing. The alternative of putting the target names on the items themselves seems a bit iffy, since the items themselves shouldn't necessarily know which builder they're building with. Presumably the IBuildSystemManager should be the only one who knows which build system is being used. This also would somewhat preclude lower level items from actually building parent items if that's the only realistic way to do so. (Also like includes and defines not being on the items themselves.) My current work arounds are to create a rather ugly project model (with rather strange trade offs) or copy-paste the ninja builder into a new builder plugin just to replace kdevninjabuilderplugin.cpp#argumentsForItem to provide the answers I already have from the project.json file gn created. I'm willing to work on this issue, but before starting it would be nice to know if this would be a generally acceptable approach or if some other approach would be better. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

(For me, this happens e.g. with "kwallet" and "firefox") Expected behavior: As long as I don't move the mouse, I expect krunner to entire ignore the cursor. I like to start e.g. the KWalletManager by typing "WIN-r k w a l ENTER" without any noticeable pauses. I *know* kwalletmanager is the first thing to appear on the query "kwal" (and Win-R is my shortcut for KRunner), to this should always work. Actual behavior: Sometimes, the item under the mouse is selected even though the mouse did not move. This seems to depend on how quickly the contents are loaded. Typing another key usually fixes this, but when I quickly enter a query and hit ENTER, it's already too late -- some random document has already been opened. This is pretty frustrating. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 373153] New: Closing windows in grouped task manager entry leads to mixed-up menu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373153 Bug ID: 373153 Summary: Closing windows in grouped task manager entry leads to mixed-up menu Product: plasmashell Version: 5.8.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: p...@ralfj.de CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 102563 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=102563&action=edit A screenshot demonstrating the issue Steps to reproduce: * Have at least 3 windows in a group. * Left-click that group * Right-click a window in that group and select "Close" Expected behavior: * The window closed and disappears from the group, and nothing else happens Actual behavior: * Another window can start showing up in the group -- even windows that are not usually shown, e.g. "plasma". I will attach a screenshot demonstrating this. This is not entirely reproducible because it seems to depend on the exact state of the task manager, i.e. how many groups of which size are presented in which order. Still, it happens frequently for me. Having more windows grouped increases the likelihood of seeing this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
