[plasmashell] [Bug 375781] New: Plasma freezes while performing slow file operations

2017-01-30 Thread Gabriele Tozzi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375781

Bug ID: 375781
Summary: Plasma freezes while performing slow file operations
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.7.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: bo...@discosucks.it
  Target Milestone: 1.0

This could be a duplicate of #351897, but it seems to be just a similar bug.

When performing slow file operations, the plasma panel (and so the system)
becomes completely frozen and unresponsive.

How to reproduce:
1. Create a network share somewhere
2. Mount that share over a slow network
3. Open dolphin, try to copy a local file to that mount (sometimes just
browsing the mount is enough)
4. Plasma is now frozen until the copy/file operation is done (it could take
minutes)

What I would except to happen:
I would expect plasma to stay functional regardless of running background
operations

I have KDE Connect 1.0.3 on openSUSE 42.2 from the KDE Extra repository.
https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=KDE%3AExtra&package=kdeconnect-kde

There are two users on my machine. When one of the users logs out and the other
logs in, there's a kdeconnectd process still active that belongs to the first
user and it consumes 100% of a CPU core.

OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Output Views
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

When i debug or run a google test executable and there is a failure i would
love to be able to just click on the output to go to the corresponding source
file and line.

Such a line looks like this:
/home/brix/x-project/src/tests/test_foo_impl.cpp:311: Failure

If gtest is not common enough to justify this work, maybe configurable regular
expressions for filename and linenumber would be the way to go. That way all
test frameworks could be supported in one go.

This is happening to me too. I'm using the latest version of plasma on Arch
Linux. For the past few weeks, anytime I try to take a screenshot with
Spectacle, something odd happens. I'm not actually %100 percent sure what is
happening, but the taskbar at the bottom of the screen stops responding, and I
can't alt-tab to another window. The computer seems to freeze for a minute, and
then I am logged out. This happens every time I try to take the screenshot,
usually after it actually takes the screenshot and while I am trying to export
the image to imgur.
This only happens when I click "Take new screenshot". I can start up spectacle
and use the screenshot it takes when it starts up any way I want with no
abnormal behavior.

[kdesvn] [Bug 375776] New: KF5-based doesn't display the authorization dialog for ssh

2017-01-30 Thread Safa Alfulaij

Bug ID: 375776
Summary: KF5-based doesn't display the authorization dialog for
ssh
   Product: kdesvn
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: kdesvn-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: safa1996alful...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

kdesvn doesn't ask me for my ssh password, and just displays the common error
in the errors box:

Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'svn+ssh://s...@svn.kde.org/home/kde'
To better debug SSH connection problems, remove the -q option from 'ssh' in the
[tunnels] section of your Subversion configuration file.
Filling log cache in background finished.

I tried running it from the terminal, and I saw that the it is requesting my
password from there "Enter passphrase for key '/home/safa/.ssh/id_rsa':"!
I entered the password and it worked for caching log entries (that progress bar
appears now, which did not before when started graphically).
For updating to HEAD, I see 3 password promots, and entering my password
whatever number of times doesn't work.

kdesvnaskpass is installed and works when executed from terminal.

Sometimes user like me need to organize and move files from a big cluterred
folder, so its nice if we can sort them by file associations/kind
(document, picture, video, audio, etc..) that makes them easier to move to new
folder all at once example

file.mp3 (audio)
file.doc (document)
file.pdf (document)
file.gif (pictures)
file.jpg (pictures)
file.png (pictures)
file.mkv (video)
file.mp4 (video)

[valgrind] [Bug 375772] New: +1 error in get_elf_symbol_info() when computing value of 'hi' address for ML_(find_rx_mapping)

2017-01-30 Thread Ivo Raisr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375772

Bug ID: 375772
Summary: +1 error in get_elf_symbol_info() when computing value
of 'hi' address for ML_(find_rx_mapping)
   Product: valgrind
   Version: 3.13 SVN
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Solaris
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: iv...@ivosh.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Function ML_(find_rx_mapping)() expects 'lo' and 'hi' addresses.
However get_elf_symbol_info() passes the following to it:
ML_(find_rx_mapping)(di,
 (*sym_avmas_out).main,// lo
 (*sym_avmas_out).main + *sym_size_out); // hi

Causing the debuginfo reader assert horribly when the last symbol ends
precisely
on the text segment end.

I was able to reproduce this problem under special circumstances on
sparcv9/Solaris platform, however it is generic. All other
ML_(find_rx_mapping)() call sites account for 'lo'/'hi' argument semantics.

[digikam] [Bug 375770] New: Creating tag from left panel causes error

2017-01-30 Thread J-o-h-n-
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375770

Bug ID: 375770
Summary: Creating tag from left panel causes error
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.4.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tags
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: forgivenb...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When using the left panel 'Enter tag here.' field to create a non-existing tag
on multiple selected images, the following error dialog box happens:

|Tag creation Error
|An error occurred during tag creation:
|Tag Path Error
|Earth2 Tag name already exists

And then the following apply dialog box:

|Apply changes?
|You have edited the metadata of XX images:
|-caption
|-tags
|Do you want to apply your changes?
|Always apply changes without confirmation

The second error (Apply changes) happens when one or more images are selected.
The first (Tag creation Error) and second (Apply changes) errors both happen
when more than one image is selected.

It seems when multiple images are selected during tag creation, the tag is
trying to be created for each individual file instead of created for the first
and selected for the rest.

It seems there may be two separate issues here, the 'Tag creation Error' issue
and the 'Apply changes' issue. If selecting a pre-existing tag does not cause
the apply changes dialog box, then creating a new tag should not cause the
apply changes dialog box either.

[kcalc] [Bug 375681] Not correctly handle binary numbers

2017-01-30 Thread Evan Teran
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375681

Yea, this one is tough because I can see both implementations as being
reasonable. As a programmer, I would expect a value of 0777 to be interpreted
as octal no matter what ... because it is an octal number by convention.

But you may a good point, and not everyone is a programmer. Perhaps a
compromise would be to prefer using the current mode, but if that produces an
invalid number (like 0x12345 in decimal mode), then fallback on the current
behavior. I dunno, I'm not sure if I love that either :-/

Certainly, it is possible to make this a configurable option. So maybe that's
reasonable.

I'd been a while since I have been terribly active in kcalc, so bear with me
while I get a bit reacquainted with the source :-).

Confirmed on 5.4.0. For all mp4 files digiKam used a file modification date
instead of any content create date from metadata. Looks like exiv2 does not
read any metadata from mp4 files yet.

It happens when battery drops to 5%.
Must be a bug, it's quite illogical to increase brightness when battery is
about to die.
Audible notification is good enough ;)

[plasmashell] [Bug 375769] New: Mouse wheel over activity pager does not switch activity

Bug ID: 375769
Summary: Mouse wheel over activity pager does not switch
activity
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.4
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Pager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugzi...@kerridis.de
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When I use the mouse wheel over the desktop pager I can switch desktops, when I
click on the current desktop in the pager all windows are minimized. That's
fine and the desired behaviour. The activity pager alas treats the mouse wheel
as if it is a click: When I use the wheel over the activity pager all windows
are minimized. "Natural" would be to switch activities with the wheel, the
activity pager should operate the same way as the desktop pager (consistency).

[kipiplugins] [Bug 375729] Broken google photos upload

2017-01-30 Thread T . Narol
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375729

Hello,

I just tried with version 5.4.0 the problem is the same. The plugin is able to
connect to the Google Photos account and discover the existing albums, import
pictures from existing albums... But after uploading a picture I can't find it
in the album.

This is a new thing. I've been uploading hundreds of pictures this way in the
past, working perfectly.

My guess is that it is caused by a recent change in Google Photos API.

Best regards

Gilles,

export showed none of these two. declare -p neither. I did

wolfgang@wolfgang-tuxedo:~$ declare -x BROWSER="/usr/bin/firefox"
wolfgang@wolfgang-tuxedo:~$ export

and got

declare -x BROWSER="/usr/bin/firefox"

but this didn't help. /usr/bin/firefox is a link pointing to
/usr/lib/firefox.sh which is wrong. I found firefox.sh in /usr/lib/firefox and
did

declare -x BROWSER="/usr/lib/firefox/firefox.sh"

but to no avail. Help/Handbook is still not working and the buttons in Right
Sidebar/Maps neither.

I personally got around the issue by building from source, by modifying the

But I will certainly test out 5.0.81 when it's available.

[digikam] [Bug 375767] New: In Editor switching between pictures with left/right key is reversed ! Pic 1 of 80 is displayed as 80 of 80 !

2017-01-30 Thread Mike
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375767

Bug ID: 375767
Summary: In Editor switching between pictures with left/right
key is reversed ! Pic 1 of 80 is displayed as 80 of 80
!
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.4.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: ImageEditor
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: mailto.mi...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I use Manjaro KDE latest version 4.4.41-1-MANJARO and since the last Digikam
update it seems viewing Pics in the Editor is reversed:
In preview I see for example Pic 1 of 80 in a folder and with the left-right
keys I can switch back and forth. Normally I dont use preview mode instead with
"Enter" I directly go to Edit mode and then the picture suddenliy is not 1 of
80 instead its 80 of 80 ! So pressing right key doesnt work because Digikam
thinks its picture 80 of 80 but in real its picture 1 of 80!. Pressing the key
left however shows the next picture but it says picture 79 of 80. In real its
picture 2..; Somehow in Editor the picture sorting is reversed. Sorting is set
to "date" and "ascending" order. I dont see a setting for this behaviour but so
its almost unusable because I'm used to go back and forth from the pic I
entered the editor. Spacebar also works reversed...normally it should forward
to the next picture. Now its going backwards !

Hi,
thanks for answer, but it is really bad behavior. I have tested windows calc

this functionality). If I'm in binary mode, all inserted data (OK maybe as
string) is binary, very easy and functional.

Additional info: Your distribution may need to manually enable JP2 support (via
jasper libraries) in QtImageFormats, because the jasper library was no longer
maintained upstream. Some distributions already use recent jasper libraries
which have several security issues fixed and enabled jasper support again.

See http://doc-snapshots.qt.io/qt5-5.8/qtimageformats-index.html

This bug/feature request still stands for people using Okular on desktops other
than KDE. In other words, the session restore feature mentioned by the original
poster is not available in other desktop environments, including Unity, Gnome,
etc. So the users of Okular using alternative desktops still need the number of
recent documents increased, or a desktop-independent, application-specific
session restore feature implemented.

[plasmashell] [Bug 375730] Starting Kwin with NVidia Proprietary drivers / libraries throws: "Plasma is unable to start as it could not correctly use OpenGL 2."

2017-01-30 Thread Christian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375730

Hello David,
I'm running on real hardware, no virtualization.
It's confusing, I also noticed the vmware from glxinfo and I have no idea why.
I've built now a new kernel and a new qt from dev branch in git, reemerged the
nvidia drivers and will post more info after I try everything again.
