[krita] [Bug 375585] [mergedimage.png] Vectors layers are not correctly rendered anymore
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375585 David REVOY changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|FIXED |--- Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #6 from David REVOY --- Hey, I ran a big hour of new tests, and I have new informations changing everything! New observations: = The bug affect only vector-layers **with a layer-style on it**. On my example file, the layer-style was disabled (Fx icon on layer stack). So, this new information invalidate the time period information in my report. It can be old. I saw it only last evening. Even if the layer-style is disabled it's sufficient to trigger the bug (Fx icon is greyed, not removed). It's easy to reproduce with krita-3.1.2-x86_64.appimage but **also** krita-3.1.1-x86_64.appimage and krita-3.0.94-x86_64.appimage ... the bug is even more dramatic with krita-3.0.92-x86_64.appimage ( no tiles rendered at all in this situation ) *but* krita-3.0.1-Alpha-4c91a18-x86_64.appimage render everything correctly same for krita-3.0.1-x86_64.appimage , krita-3.0.1.1-x86_64.appimage , krita-3.0.91-x86_64.appimage ; so it means the bug born between 3.0.91 and 3.0.92! ( so between 2016-10-19 and ... 3.0.92 don't have tag in the code, but from blog-post 'Third Beta' it's on 2016-11-07 ). Also, now I can reproduce the bug with any file, with this steps: To reproduce bug from a new file: = 1. open a new 512x512 px white document 2. create a vector layer on top 4. fill canvas with random vector circles, squares and lines 3. right-click on the vector-layer -> Layer-style 4. in Layer style dialog activate the check-box in front of Bevel and Emboss (and Enable Effects) and press OK. 5. Save the file as test.kra 6. On your file manager, open the *.kra file with an archive editor/extractor, and visualize the mergedimage.png Result: === mergedimage.png is empty: no tiles were fast enough to render. Workaround: === - put all mis-rendered vector-layers inside group. - remove the layer-styles. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Breeze] [Bug 375825] New: Please include 1920x1200 size wallpaper
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375825 Bug ID: 375825 Summary: Please include 1920x1200 size wallpaper Product: Breeze Version: 5.9.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-de...@kde.org Reporter: k...@happyjack.org Target Milestone: --- My monitors have a resolution of 1920x1200, which is not an included size with the Next wallpaper. If I select Next as the wallpaper, the size 1680x1050 is chosen, which either results in black bars all around (if it's centered) or a somewhat fuzzy image (if it's scaled). In part this is, I believe, a flaw in the image selection algorithm (see #375824), but given that 1920x1200 is a not-uncommon monitor resolution, it would make sense to include a 1920x1200.png with Next. For what it's worth, it looks like these sizes were included in Breeze 5.3 and 5.4. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 375824] New: Wallpaper image size choice is not optimal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375824 Bug ID: 375824 Summary: Wallpaper image size choice is not optimal Product: plasmashell Version: 5.9.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Image Wallpaper Assignee: notm...@gmail.com Reporter: k...@happyjack.org CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Wallpapers can include many different image resolutions to better match monitor reoslutions. When choosing which image size to use, an algorithm is used which takes into account both the aspect ratio as well as how much larger or smaller the image is than the monitor resolution. Smaller images are penalized doubly: an image which is 200 pixels narrower than the desired image is counted the same as an image which is 400 pixels wider. I believe this algorithm is suboptimal: given a monitor size of 1920x1200, and a wallpaper with two image sizes, 1680x1050 and 2560x1600, the smaller image is chosen even though both have identical aspect ratios to the original. The problem with this is that upscaling an image looks worse than downscaling an image, as sharpness is inevitably lost. In plasma-workspace/wallpapers/image/image.cpp, in the function “distance”, the following is the responsible code: delta = (delta >= 0.0 ? delta : -delta*2 ); // Penalize for scaling up I think that it's probably better to *always* prefer the larger image if the aspect ratio is the same, but in any case, I think the multiplier here for penalizing upscaling should at least be greater so that images which are somewhat larger, but the same aspect ratio, are prioritized over smaller images of the same aspect ratio. In my case, a multiplier of 4 is sufficient, so that 2560x1600 is used on my 1920x1200 monitors, but again, I think it's probably better to err a lot on the side of significantly larger images. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This is so, because the kernel uses the efifb frame buffer instead of the available hyperv_fb driver. KDE neon is using Ubuntu kernel 16.04 LTS, so I assume the patches described in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1287398 should long be integrated? [digikam] [Bug 375703] Moving grouped images into another album removes groups
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375703 --- Comment #2 from Jens --- Is there no clean solution for this? AFAIK the groups only refer to the images anyway (not the paths). so if images are moved, only the image path must be updated. Group information in the database could stay completely unchanged. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355399 --- Comment #4 from Thomas Capricelli --- I'm the creator of the ticket. My purpose is not to have opened PDFs restored on next session. It really is to be able to see the last 20, 50 or 100 PDFs that were opened, because I open/close a lot of them, and I very often need to open a recently opened one. 10 is far far too little for me. The AppImage is done on same computer (VM) than official one uploaded to KDE repository (which more complex to upload day by day this kind of file due to restriction and right). [krita] [Bug 375761] [Wacom] Pressure Sensitivity Not Working (only for Krita) 3.1.1
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375761 --- Comment #4 from gamekille...@gmail.com --- Interesting discovery! Intrigued by why pressure sensitivity works in Krita Gemini and not Krita, I wondered if my first reaction of suspecting Windows Ink truly was correct - so I decided to check for other possible explanations. During this I uninstalled Krita 3.1.1 and rolled back to an older version of Krita - and would you look at that: pressure sensitivity somehow works again! Now, obviously I wanted to find out when exactly this switch from 'working' to 'not working' happened, so I downloaded the installers for all stable releases between the version I got working and the most current one: Krita 3.0, Krita 3.0.1, Krita 3.0.1.1, Krita 3.1.0 and Krita 3.1.1 And it turns out that 3.0 is the only version of all of those that work for me (I haven't checked any older versions than that). It seems like something changed between Krita 3.0 and 3.0.1 that somehow changed how Krita handles pressure sensitivity? Since 3.0.1 was a minor release though, I wasn't able to pin down what exactly changed between those versions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
