Coredump from one such crash

Kactivitymanagerd dumps core when one tries to switch users.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Press the 'switch users' > 'start new session' from the lockscreen.
2. Log in to another user

Actual result: The new session opens in the same vt, and the old session dies.
Expected result: The old session should remain working even after switching
users.

The coredump is provided as an attachment.

potential calligraphy icon design

Here is a potential icon design. It has just a zoomed up view of the pen's nib.
Doing a basic google search on "calligraphy icon", this seems to be the general
direction that other people think of. I can ask Animtim what he thinks if he
wants to make any tweaks. I have the SVG for this

This seems to work when I test the latest master branch on my Ubuntu 16.10 box

1. Select freehand brush
2. click the choose a preset from the toolbar
3. add the clone tool to the favorite tag

The clone brush appears on both my pop-up menu and Brush preset docker.

I see elliotJ mentioned a build in the last comment, but the one he referenced
in the link is from July 2016. Maybe he can try out a newer version. The latest
nightlies can be downloaded on the link at the bottom of the download page.

(visit the bottom of the krita download page to find this link)
https://ci.appveyor.com/project/alvinhochun/krita-packaging/build/artifacts

I did some work on the brush presets docker and the brush editor with some
fixes, so it also might have 'accidently' got fixed with something with that.
Let us know if the master build still has the issue for you

I've checked bicycle profile and OSRM:

For Germany, routing with Bicycle works through CS with height profile.
For Poland, Bicycle routing doesn't work.

OSRM works for both Germany and Poland, gives time and distance, but no height
profile.

So OpenRouteService doesn't work, OSRM works, but without a height profile,
which was a very nice feature when it worked.

[kile] [Bug 377789] New: Log parser confused by empty parentheses pairs in .log, causing all messages to be misattributed

2017-03-18 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377789

Bug ID: 377789
Summary: Log parser confused by empty parentheses pairs in
.log, causing all messages to be misattributed
   Product: kile
   Version: 2.1.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: user interface
  Assignee: michel.lud...@kdemail.net
  Reporter: ree...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Kile's log parser appears to be vulnerable to the same bug as TeXStudio's. The
issue is diagnosed on TeX SE at
http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/358990/all-warnings-and-errors-of-my-document-refer-to-forest-sty/359152#359152.
Like TeXStudio, if the log contains an empty parentheses pair (i.e. '()'), of
the kind routinely output by xparse, all errors, warnings etc. will be
attributed to the package, class or file responsible.

For example, in the example posted initially on TeX SE, everything is
attributed to Forest. In the minimised version in the answer, everything is
attributed to the minimal package.

The following code can be used to demonstrate the bug.

\begin{filecontents}{demobug.sty}
  \ProvidesPackage{demobug}
  \typeout{()}
\end{filecontents}
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{demobug}
%\typeout{)}
\begin{document}
xx

\sewt
\end{document}

The log parser attributes both the overfull box and the undefined control
sequence to demobug.sty, opening that package in the editor for inspection.

Uncommenting the following line

%\typeout{)}

is a workaround which enables at least some messages to be correctly
attributed. (I have tested only minimally, so I don't know how robust the
workaround is.)

TeXStudio has identified the bug in their parser and will include a fix in
2.12.4 (http://tex.stackexchange.com/a/359098/).

I don't know if the bug in Kile's parser is the same, but hope that it can be
fixed also.

Deduplicate code between icon and table view (V2)

So the idea of the two patches is just to split this into smaller changes that
are easier to review. If the refactor has problems, the rest won't work either.

There were some typos and C errors in the context menu, the issues you (Maik
& Gilles) reported should be fixed now.

by redirecting to https the installer now fails to read mirror lists and
releases.

How to reproduce:
1. Download installer from
https://download.kde.org/stable/kdewin/installer/kdewin-installer-gui-latest.exe
2. run installer

What happens:
The installer shows a message box that is could not fetch the mirror list

What is expected:
The installer should be able to fetch the mirror list

Additional information:
The installer uses libcurl to fetch files over http or ftp and it looks that it
does not support https. It is required to build libcurl with https support or
to use QNetworkAccessManager which requires to be build also with https
support.

Doing what cmake does sounds fine to me.

And to your claim that "the distro Qt is always the right one" - that is
completely wrong. In my work for KDAB I see tons of Linux based Qt projects,
and only the minority of those rely on the distro Qt. Most instead use a
specific Qt version built into /opt or elsewhere. Especially for embedded
projects, people often even put the SDK's qmake into their PATH.

(In reply to Viorel-Cătălin Răpițeanu from comment #6)
> > I can't reproduce the problem on my dev system.

Not yet, I hope. This behavior exists in KDE Plasma version 5.8.6, from
openSuse 42.2 on a Toshiba laptop with an i5 CPU. It was a problem in 42.1
also. In addition, a mouse-over doesn't hide the panel when, for example, the
Networks icon has opened the network manager window or when using Spectacle for
a screen shot. Some of the content at the lower edge is always blocked by the
panel.
Oddly, the problem does not (yet) appear on an AMD desktop with the same
openSuse 42.2 installed. I hope I can supply any additional details you might
want to treat this bug.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 377784] New: On standby resume applet "connects" automatically to OpenVPN, but doesn't set the route

2017-03-18 Thread Abderrahman Najjar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377784

Bug ID: 377784
Summary: On standby resume applet "connects" automatically to
OpenVPN, but doesn't set the route
   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: 5.9.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: applet
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: abderrahman.naj...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When resuming, the applet will reconnect to the connections set to
automatically connect to. If a connection (e.g. WiFi) is set to automatically
connect to another OpenVPN connection, on resume it'll connect, and show the
connected icon, but the default route isn't set and checking the IP reveals the
ISP's.

I need to disconnect, then reconnect again (VPN connection) for the route to be
established correctly and work as expected.

This problem isn't present when Plasma starts for the first (i.e. on boot)

1) Go to sleep
2) Resume
3) plasma-nm will attempt to connect to WiFi, LAN, etc. And will attempt to
connect to the VPN connection tied to the connection (say WiFi)
4) plasma-nm will show "connecting" and take the usual time to connect to VPN
5) "Connected" lock icon will appear
6) Checking the IP in browser reveals the original (ISP) IP
7) Disconnect the VPN connection, then connect again, the IP check is now
showing the VPN's IP

Latest kernel, Plasma, and OVPN packages from Arch repos: plasma-nm 5.9.3,
plasma-framework 5.32.0, openvpn 2.4.0, networkmanager 1.6.2,
networkmanager-openvpn 1.2.8

Deduplicate code between icon and table view

This is the part of the patch that is not actually directly related to
grouping. I just needed this to get consistent behaviour between the two views
and to get rid of duplicate code. In my opinion it is cleaner and much less
error prone. It probably makes sense if you first look at this and when this is
committed we can look at the grouping stuff.

[digikam] [Bug 375703] Moving grouped images into another album removes groups

2017-03-18 Thread Ricardo Sanz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375703

IMHO I don't think grouping images is so similar to subalbums. One typical use
of groups is group the RAW and the JPG file of the same image. This way you
only see one picture (the JPG probably) of your images instead of having the
RAW image, the camera JPG and your own developed JPG.

Also, about mentioned advantages, it's said: "Image groups are represented in
the file system and not just in the database (better for external image
manipulation)". This may be true, but is it really an advantage? Using groups
for each picture and its derivatives (RAW, JPGs, etc) means each 'real' album,
in the filesystem, would be a bunch of directories, with all versions of the
same picture on each. Is this better than having all in the same directory?
IMHO is not.

Using directories for each group probably will end in a cluttered album view
with thousand of tiny albums. Also, it makes necessary to select the main
picture of each subalbum to be shown in the parent album: this needs a
convenient GUI to do it. And, are all subalbums going to be shown in the parent
album alongside the parent's picture? This will be a change in current
Digikam's behavior, potentially affecting many users.

Also, grouping is a feature present in other image software like Darktable or
Adobe Lightroom.

I just wanted to add my point of view, of course I don't know the problems that
grouping brings to the Digikam base code, I'm a talking only as a user :)

[kmail2] [Bug 377744] KMail 2 - If more than one Identity, the "Me" as my own e-Mail address disappears

Yes, but:
 1. There's the "Standard" Identity.
 2. There's an e-Mail address noted in the KDE System Configuration in the User
Account details.
---
Therefore, IMHO, there's 2 places where one could determine the preferred
identity related to "Me".

[clazy] [Bug 377617] clazy-qstring-left makes false assumption

2017-03-18 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377617

--- Comment #3 from markus.enzenber...@gmail.com ---
The danger that I see right now is that someone runs clazy on code they didn't
write, simply follows the warning to replace left(1) by at(0) and thereby
introduces a new, maybe subtle and rarely triggered bug.

The optimal solution would be that clazy recognizes if a check for size 0
already exists in the code.

But as a short-time fix, maybe the warning message could be improved to mention
that left(1) can be replaced by at(0) if the string is not empty?

Probably the Drm backend. I'm currently working here on stuff related to
standby, but I'm not sure if it fixes your problem. Hopefully it lands in 5.10
and then you can test again.

Otherwise this stuff is hard to debug, especially when it's related to wake up
from standby.

Who says that the user doesn't want to use the distro Qt instead? IMHO, the
distro Qt is always the right one if something else was not explicitly
requested. It is the one most likely to just work.

there's no way we can make it right for all platforms, I'm afraid. When you
