Introduce additional sidecar types and refactor

This adds the new tab "Sidecars" to the metadata setup. It contains the
existing settings about sidecars and a new field to enter sidecar extensions.
These files will neither be displayed nor read from or written to. Only if the
corresponding item is renamed/moved/copied/deleted, these files are transformed
accordingly.

The bluetooth code on the desktop side and the code on the Android side is

you merge/rebase the code on both sides to include the changes made on the

Black screen

Potential duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377152 ? It's been
1.5 months since that report was closed, and I'm still facing this bug, so
either the fix hasn't been released in a stable version yet, or it hasn't been
fixed yet.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 336043] SFTP: Should be able to browse external SD cards via SFTP too

I can't tell if this is the same problem as what others are reporting. I am
using the indicator-kdeconnect project to interact with kdeconnect from GNOME.
When I browse files with sftp, internal storage shows up fine, but I don't see
any evidence of the external SD card. I don't have a mnt folder, so no
mnt/extSdCard folder like others have talked about. When I look in the file
manager on the phone, the external SD card is viewable as a separate device. I
can't navigate to it through the directories of the internal storage. It's like
kdeconnect doesn't know the SD card exists. However, for the share & receive
destination setting, I was able to choose the external SD card and sending
files works fine with this setup. So kdeconnect actually can see the SD card.

Is there anything I can do to debug why kdeconnect can't see SD card?

[konsole] [Bug 362857] Background transparency not applied when restoring session

Maxim Therrien changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||acersp...@hotmail.com

What I think is going on is that Konsole windows (and maybe some other apps)
get restored too early, before Kwin is executed, and therefore, are launched
with the preconception that Kwin is not present.

The same concept also applies to another issue that comes up with global menus,
where restored apps will use local menus instead of global menus until
restarted, because they get started before Plasma (or whatever) is executed.

Either delaying the restore process so that it waits for Plasma and Kwin to
fully initialise or creating some sort of pre-binding that restored programs
can hook onto to get Kwin or global menu functionality before Kwin/Plasma is
even started.

Watch this video :

there was also a bug report :
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372221

Given that it's been several versions since the new selector was introduced and
this issue hasn't been fixed, I think we could at least have an option to use
the old "working" selector until the new gets fixed.

I use fill layers all the time and this popup color selector is the only one we
can use for these layers.

Thanks for your attention.

1366x768 here too.
Will likely become even more common with people re-purposing Chromebooks, and
thinner/smaller/lighter/cheaper laptops.

Also noticed while checking resolution that "Displays" has the same issue.

Alt-window drag is a good work-around, thank you, but hidden/discover-able
features should not be necessary to overcome UX/UI problem. Discover-ability of
this is not limited to new users, I've been using Linux for a long time, and
was not aware of it until investigating this bug report.

[plasmashell] [Bug 379589] New: Make Open Collaborative Services (attica and knewstuff) optional

  Target Milestone: 1.0

The requirement for this superficial module and dependencies to be compiled and
installed for a working KDE desktop is unnecessary.

Compilation and installation of Open Collaborative Services should be provided
as optional feature within CMakeLists.txt, for users such as myself who have no
time or interest in "customising" their desktop, and don't want to waste time
and resources compiling and storing an unused feature.

[krita] [Bug 379387] Major lag

2017-05-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379387

Hi again,

Thank you for your advice.

I tried it in the following sequence:

Install newest Krita

Deactivate OpenGL, close Krita

Install latest intel drivers, restart computer

Open Krita: drawing worked

Re-activate OpenGL --> drawing stopped working

De-activate OpenGL again and close Krita

Start Krita: drawing works again.

Conclusion: at the moment, drawing only seems to work with deactivated OpenGL.

Please - if possible - send me an update notice as soon as a patch for this is
available.

Thank you in advance,

Sue

Hi Sue,

We released Krita 3.1.3 today. Your problem sounds like it is caused by a
Windows update that is incompatible with an outdated intel display driver.
Please check whether disabling opengl in Krita makes a difference; if so, try
to update the driver and re-enable opengl again.

This works fine on Wayland. On Wayland the window a window gets raised when
hovering over it during the drag and drop operation.

On X11 this is not possible. Many applications react on the press by trying to
raise themselves, so it would result in a very inconsistent and broken
behavior.

Currently Kmail pulls in a number of GPG dependencies which are unnecessesary
for users without any intention of utilising the feature.

For source distro users particularly this adds unwanted compilation time.

Non-core features, such as GPG, should be configurable for disablement.

think this should be added to the Android App, because it is very limiting
without those "Desktop keys".

Edit. I'm a bit confused by this bug.

/usr/bin/kaccess still crashes, it has ungaurded X calls.

That doesn't match the backtrace here, which is a common theme that comes up in
many places, which is what I've fixed.

[kmail2] [Bug 379584] New: Old "delete" shortcut doesn't work anymore

2017-05-06 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379584

Bug ID: 379584
Summary: Old "delete" shortcut doesn't work anymore
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: gons...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After updating to 5.4.3 (16.12.3?), the "Delete (Shift + Supr)" shortcut that
I've been using since KDE3 stopped working in the messages list.

Apparently there's another "Delete the message" shortcut that I tried setting
to (Shift + Supr), but then it won't let me delete more than one message at a
time and also it will always show a popup asking for confirmation, without an
option to "Not show again".

Extremely annoying regression sadly.

[kdenlive] [Bug 379582] New: Editing the duration of a title clip does not work fully

2017-05-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379582

Bug ID: 379582
Summary: Editing the duration of a title clip does not work
fully
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 17.04.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: pgkos.bugzi...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After changing the duration of a title clip to a longer duration, the clip
contents disappear just when the previous shorter duration ended.

For example, if I prolong a title clip from 8 seconds to 10 seconds, the clip
contents will vanish after 8 seconds.

Restarting Kdenlive does not help, but I have discovered that in the project
.kdenlive file there is:

200

which contains the old value (from the original, shorter duration). It should
probably contain the updated, longer duration value.

Also, in the:

the "out" property value also does not get updated, so the animation stops at
the old duration endpoint.

I have some images which IPTC tags are Unicode characters. The characters can
be displayed correctly in Windows file property dialog, and the "Metadata"
sidebar in digiKam. However, those character are displayed as diamond blocks
beneath the image preview, and the in the "Properties" sidebar.

I saw there're some patches to add Unicode support in IPTC metadata. But it
seems that patch only add the support to one place on the UI.

  Target Milestone: 1.0

When using the wallpaper slideshow two consecutive images are shown at login.

The first image is shown for only a very brief period (blink and you'll miss
it), the second image then correctly remains for the duration set by "Change
every:", (which in this case is set to 1 hour, 0 minutes, 0 seconds).

The first image appears random, it is not for example the last displayed image.

This is consistent and repeatable.

I vote for the second fix, better safe than sorry. One can always explicitly
enter in the remote directory, to trigger the previews of the files in there.

David, reading comment #2, my impression was that the issue here is sddm
crashing, so unrelated to the backtrace added at comment #4, which I already
identified as bug 372597.

Could you please clarify which of the two bugs the commit resolves, and maybe
reopen this one?

Git commit c5022358de3a5c3f6bbde44915ae48702cee719d by Albert Vaca, on behalf
of Nicholas Killewald.
Committed on 06/05/2017 at 12:26.
Pushed by albertvaka into branch '1.x'.

Made getLocalIpAddress ignore rmnet-related interfaces.

Any interface with "rmnet" in it is an internal interface that has to do
with the device's cellular connection or USB tethering. Since those
interfaces might give IPv4 addresses that are unreachable from any other
device, this change makes getLocalIpAddress ignore anything rmnet-related.

Hi Juri,

Great! From a quick glance at the bugreport and the explanation, I don't see
another easy way around this. Your patch however, will need a bit of cleanup
and proper review. Could you post it to KDE's phabricator, so we can run it
through our review process, get it up to our standards and then merge it?

The address is phabricator.kde.org .

Thanks!

[Akonadi] [Bug 364114] moving a folder within one maildir resource is extremely slow and inefficient

2017-05-06 Thread Martin Steigerwald
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364114

During akonadictl fsck:

Moved 15029 unreferenced files to lost+found.

Also it only found about 21000 files in there at all (output scrolled out of
buffer, but I bet it was 15029+6371).

On second run it now reports "Found 6371 external files." and this now seems to
be correct:

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/akonadi> find file_db_data -type f | wc -l
6371

Yet it only moved 15029 files to lost+found:

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/akonadi> find file_lost+found -type f | wc -l
15029

I seriously have no idea what it did with the other:

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/akonadi> find file_db_data -type f | wc -l
46846
(see previous comment #7)

46846 - 15029 = 31817 files

However as I think they have been related to that aborted move operation I
don´t mind them to be gone. Still that output is not really trustworthy.

The bug is still here and is very annoying. You can't have office PC without
the clock in the tray. A suggestion for a workaround would be highly
appreciated.
In my case, digital clock is missing hours, and displays something like "
:45". Happens sometimes after reboot and the only cure is to reboot.
I use 4k display and I somehow think it may be connected.

2017-05-06 Thread Martin Steigerwald
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364114

Okay, I now stopped Akonadi after more than one hour of it trying to move that
folder around. So far it didn´t move a single mail file. They are all still
here:

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/local-mail/.Lichtvoll.directory/.Linux.directory>
find btrfs-ml -type f | wc -l
63720

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/local-mail/.Lichtvoll.directory/.Linux.directory>
du -sh btrfs-ml
521Mbtrfs-ml

Additionally it didn´t even create the target directory.

This is *just* moving a folder!

So my guess is again that it was still occupied with moving all those mails
into the cache, i.e. into mysqld database or if threshold exceeded lost and
found.

Well sure enough it was:

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/akonadi> find file_db_data -type f | wc -l
46846
martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/akonadi> du -sh file_db_data
462Mfile_db_data

I bet some are also in there.

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/akonadi> du -sh db_data
4,2Gdb_data

Luckily after the restart Akonadi forgot that it was to move that large folder.
So… I will just fsck and then vacuum the whole thing back to some sanity again.
