[kipiplugins] [Bug 379713] New: Error reporting is inadequate to diagnose problems

2017-05-10 Thread Gareth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379713

Bug ID: 379713
Summary: Error reporting is inadequate to diagnose problems
   Product: kipiplugins
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Piwigo
  Assignee: kde-imag...@kde.org
  Reporter: g...@yahoo.co.uk
CC: frederic.coiff...@free.fr
  Target Milestone: ---

When an upload fails, the error reporting is such that you are told the upload
failed, but not why. In my case, it was because the user I was uploading as was
not an administrator and thus though had permission to see albums, could not
alter them.

Separately, when attempting to secure the pwigio site behind a layer of basic
authentication (in addition to the piwigo user login requirement), the piwigo
plugin was unable to successfully authenticate and I was unable to diagnose the
reason for this.

Calibre (written in PyQt) has this feature implemented. Perhaps mockups and

Ark doesn't use the system default video player (in my case VLC) to play video
files. I'm setting the severity to major because I have no idea what player
it's using, but it's pretty buggy itself.

The attached patch is missing definition for VKI_CDROMREADMODE1.

[systemsettings] [Bug 377310] Single/double click option is in inappropriately in the mouse settings

2017-05-10 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377310

Where else does it change the behavior? The only other behavior it changes that
I've found is in System Setting itself, which IMHO should *not* be affected by
that setting (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377309).

It seems like this behavior should be 100% Dolphin-specific, and then the
setting should be in Dolphin's own settings.

Well, it's a "pointer device" config option, so you're right that it's not the
perfect place, but since we don't have a "pointer device KCM" it's still the
best place because: It not only changes the behavior in Dolphin, but also in
other areas. That's why it can't be in Dolphin settings. Icons or Desktop
Berhavior is worse IMO.

What could be done is a single line of information in Dolphin settings, where
to find this setting option. You could do it as a patch to Dolphin (it needs to
consider that Dolphin is not only used on Plasma).

[kmail2] [Bug 379655] Inbox uses outbox icon

2017-05-10 Thread LtWorf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379655

--- Comment #2 from Salvo "LtWorf" Tomaselli ---
I use oxygen!

There is an icon that is called inbox and is different, but I can't select it
for the inbox folder.

But I am noticing this in the list of the files:

/usr/share/icons/oxygen/base/48x48/places/mail-folder-inbox.png
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/base/48x48/places/mail-folder-outbox.png
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/base/48x48/places/mail-folder-sent.png
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/base/64x64/places/mail-folder-outbox.png
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/base/64x64/places/mail-folder-sent.png

There is no inbox file for the 64 icon. Could this be the problem? Even though
the icons shown should be smaller than 64, and it should fall back to a smaller
one anyway.

[valgrind] [Bug 370028] Reduce the number of compiler warnings on MIPS platforms

2017-05-10 Thread Ivo Raisr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370028

I am afraid I don't see how the latest patch for syswrap-generic.c improves the
situation. On sparc64/Linux, I see the following warnings (line numbers are
approximate but you get the idea):

m_syswrap/syswrap-generic.c: In function ‘inet6_format’:
m_syswrap/syswrap-generic.c:702:11: warning: cast increases required alignment
of target type [-Wcast-align]
   (const struct vki_in_addr *)(ip + 12);
   ^
m_syswrap/syswrap-generic.c: In function ‘pre_mem_read_sockaddr’:
m_syswrap/syswrap-generic.c:1119:36: warning: cast increases required alignment
of target type [-Wcast-align]
struct vki_sockaddr_in*  sin  = (struct vki_sockaddr_in *)sa;
^
m_syswrap/syswrap-generic.c:1120:36: warning: cast increases required alignment
of target type [-Wcast-align]
struct vki_sockaddr_in6* sin6 = (struct vki_sockaddr_in6 *)sa;
^
m_syswrap/syswrap-generic.c:1125:36: warning: cast increases required alignment
of target type [-Wcast-align]
struct vki_sockaddr_nl*  nl   = (struct vki_sockaddr_nl *)sa;

If my understanding is correct then your patch deals just with the first
occurrence. And why is ipv6 now an array of 4 x UInt? This does not make much
sense - IPv6 is just 16 bytes, usually displayed per hextets [1].

Could you:
- Deal with all 4 occurrences
- Use for example ASSUME_ALIGNED for the casts?

2017-05-10 Thread pkjdje
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378750

Hi,
Thought I should contact you to say that the bug has not recurred for a
week or so.
Maybe another update of another package has fixed the issue.
looking through synaptic history I only see
linux*, libicu
that may have helped.

If I dont contact you again before 1st of June,
You can consider the bug closed.
It may be the bug was due to another package or one of the above.
If it does not come up again before then it is likely your code does
not have backward compatibility, and based on the newer versions of the
above or other packages.

I hope this is acceptable.

THANKS

Bug ID: 379708
Summary: MOVIT playback issue: not displaying timeline contents
properly - shows as green static/noise in Project
Monitor
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: git-master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: jesse.dub...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

BEHAVIOR
With MOVIT enabled, editing a project in the timeline and playing back in the
Project Monitor produces green-colored noise. It doesn't playback the timeline
properly.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
To play the timeline back normally, in fact, even smoother, because it's using
the GPU to process the clips, FX, transitions, etc.

[kwin] [Bug 378452] Escape key not detected by several games in wayland

2017-05-10 Thread Martin Flöser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378452

So I analyzed the patch and it is quite similar to my change. The result is
partially the same. The moving of the timer has the same effect as the removal
of "input()->keyboard()->update();" in my change. The main difference is that
passToWaylandServer happens in your change but not in my change. Although I
assumed that a later filter would do that. This might explain why my change
doesn't work.

What your change doesn't support right now is the hiding of escape from the
window on a long press which cancels the pointer grab. I guess we need the best
of both approaches ;-)

I have the same problem for a month or two. It happened so rarely and randomly
that I couldn't find out whats going on but thanks to the steps provided by
Māris Nartišs its reproducible.

Basically switching to a different virtual-desktop, with the application-menu
or a tray pop-up open, makes them disappear until relog.
When switching desktops via shortcuts (next/previous desktop) it can take a few
switches for the bug to appear but when switching with the pager-plasmoid it
always happens.

Just restarting kwin (kwin_x11 --replace) does not fix it.

I'm glad its solved.

In retrospect my hint to kdeglobals was probably useless. Sorry, there are just
to many configurations with icon theme/DE/distributions.

Maybe
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Qt
would also have helped.

And Ubuntu is special again: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372966#c24

Well, it would be more useful with a backtrace, but I am not sure if you can
run gdb on os x? A quick google tells me it's installable, but I am not sure if
we have debug packages for os x...

Could you instead tell us which version of OS X you have, and more details
about the image. Is it a big image? Is there anything that might be out of the
ordinary?

my current test patch

It didn't take long to catch a deadloop, despite the early return. I think
that's probably because the calling finalCleanup() function doesn't check for
duplicate indices either and just keeps calling Bucket::deleteItem() with the
same index.

On a side-note: I also had a runtime hang, in duchain.cpp while trying to get a
lock. I got out of that one by attaching a debugger and setting a non-zero
timeout. Maybe a thought, using a "very long" timeout by default (if this
starts happening more often)?

[trojita] [Bug 379692] UnknownMessageIndex: Got FETCH that is out of bounds

2017-05-10 Thread Jan Kundrát
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379692

This looks like a bug in the server.

Here's the relevant part of the log:

14:08:35.66612 <<< * 918 EXISTS
14:08:35.66612 <<< * 379 RECENT
14:08:35.66612 <<< y9 OK Completed (0.002 sec)
14:08:35.67712 >>> y11 UID FETCH 918:* (FLAGS)
14:08:35.75912 <<< * THREAD [...]
14:08:35.76012 <<< y10 OK Completed (918 msgs in 0.033 secs)

At this point, the server let us know that there's 918 messages in total, their
MSNs are ( by definition) 1-918. So far, so good.

14:08:35.91312 <<< * 918 FETCH (FLAGS (\Recent $X-ME-Annot-2) UID 918)

This one was also reasonable -- the server let us know about an update of the
last message's flags. That is nice.

14:08:35.91312 <<< * 919 FETCH (FLAGS (\Recent $X-ME-Annot-2) UID 919)
14:08:35.91312 <<< * 919 EXISTS

But here's the bug -- the IMAP server sent a FETCH FLAGS about a message with
MSN 919, but it didn't let us know that there was an arrival before. EXISTS
must be sent prior to FETCH.

14:08:35.91312 <<< * 380 RECENT
14:08:35.91312 <<< y11 OK Completed (0.001 sec)

I've notified a friend who works for FastMail about this.

[krita] [Bug 378877] Brush offset/scaling on canvas

2017-05-10 Thread Richard Gardner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378877

Sorry to take so long getting back to this

Krita is Ver 3.1.3 Beta 1, but I have had this problem in previous versions as
well.

I ran the MS Debug view, this is the tail end of the logs, I am scratching the
stylus back and forth over the bottom right corner of the Helix screen. If I
am reading the logs correctly, it thinks I am at pixel 1920x664 when I should
be at 1920x1024. I have tried manually adjusting the input (shift-stylus tap)
to 1920x664, but it doesn't change.

If its not a bug, any advice on how to adjust to make it run correctly? I have
tried in a few other apps (photoshop, OpenToonz, Alchemy) and they all read the
stylus correctly, as does windows in general.

thanks

[valgrind] [Bug 379525] Support more x86 nop opcodes

2017-05-10 Thread H . J . Lu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379525

(In reply to Julian Seward from comment #2)
> HJ, what's the use case here? Where are these coming from?
> Not from gcc-7.x AFAICT. So .. where?

NOP opcodes are turned into real instructions on new processors
from time to time. MPX is one example. CET:

https://software.intel.com/sites/default/files/managed/4d/2a/control-flow-enforcement-technology-preview.pdf

is a new one. It is safe for Valgrind to treat those NOPs as NOP.

[krita] [Bug 379639] Krita doesnt show changes until I minimize it or open a drop down menu

2017-05-10 Thread Rafaela
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379639

it stopped working again! I really don't know what else to do... sometimes it
works and sometimes it doesn't, and just to make sure, all the times I use
krita, I close all other devices, and usually my computer is very fast, I don't
have any problems using photoshop or adobe premiere...

Gwenview 17.04.0 with KDE Frameworks 5.33.0 and Qt 5.8.0 also can not open webp
with Gwenview.

There is/was a library "/usr/lib/kde4/plugins/imageformats/kimg_webp.so" but
there is no library for webp in "/usr/lib/qt/plugins/imageformats/".

Even the KImageFormats plugin for QImage does not include this format.

So it seems to me that there is just no support for webp in Qt 5.

I assigned the "meta + volume mute" to the global shortcut "Play/Pause media

other in sequence with the end result that it still does not play or pause my
music. (Tested on both VLC and spotify)

IMAP folders mapping for sent mail, drafts and templates gets randomized when
akonadi database needs to be deleted. That is, e.g. the mappings
Sent -> GMail/[Google Mail]/Sent
Drafts -> GMail/[Google Mail]/Sent
Templates -> ...
will map to random folders (even of other IMAP accounts, also e.g. trash
folders!) after
rm -rf .local/share/akonadi
(+ restart of akonadi and kmail).

Desired behaviour:
If Kmail's mapping is not working any more, it should at least ask the user! In
no case should Kmail map to arbitrary folders automatically.

I do not understand how to enter a loan (to a friend) which he should return in
an indefinite future (not in a fixed day of a month or like this) without an
interest rate.

Please re-design your Loan account dialog to make this easier to enter and
understand.

Now your Loan dialog is bloated with interest rates and other information
useful when dealing with a bank. I need to deal with a friend not a bank.
Please make it easier to lend to a friend and record the information easily
(and without definite dates).

My friend owes me some money as I paid for his assets using my credit card.

I created a "Loan" account and then entered the sum of the debt along with
other data of the account.

But to see the credit card payment withdrawn from my main savings account, I
entered the same sum again in Ledgers.

So, why I was forced to enter this number twice? For me it looks like a
misdesign of KMyMoney. Or at least it is hard to understand how to use it
properly.

Please make it easy not to enter the same number more than once, when giving a
loan to a friend.

I have a Members Database and from this, with a Query, I select a Group of the
Members.
I then created a Report to print out or email a Report for each of these
selected Members.

Problem 1 - I have >300 Members and the one Group is about 150 of these.
I can not find a way to select a particular Member to bring up the Report for
him??!! The counter shows only how many in the selected Group and not the Table
Record No.
I CAN do it manually by clicking through ALL the records one-by-one until I
find the one I want. But this is a VERY slow method.

Problem 2 - Once I have the Report I want on screen I select "Report > Export
as > PDF"
BUT it prints out the FIRST Report in the Group and NOT the one on-screen.

To do a lot of these it would be better if you could trigger the Report for the
current Record on-screen from the Form. Is this possible??

[valgrind] [Bug 379502] Checking the code of Valgrind dynamic analyzer by a static analyzer

2017-05-10 Thread Andrey Karpov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379502

Yes, we can make patches, but I think it's not a very good idea. We don’t know
the code much and can fix it incorrectly. And we have no opportunity to deal
with every warning in detail. We regularly write articles about various
projects, and we just don't have enough time to create such a large number of
patches. Let me explain this with numbers. Now we have 11037 errors in the base
( https://www.viva64.com/en/examples/ ). If we start making patches for all of
them, we’ll have to hire a whole new team for this. We aren’t that rich yet to
do it. :)

P.S. If you want, I could give a PVS-Studio license for Valgrind Team. I should
warn right away, that there will be a lot of false positives. Most of all they
will be caused by active usage of macros. If you are interested, contact me at
karpov[@]viva64.com.

The problem was observed on 5.8.6 with the following two applications:

All other applications accepted keyboard input.
There's no information whether or not the application was autolaunched by KDE.

Closing the Konsole application and starting a new one fixed the problem.

It was called the KDE desktop back when I started using Linux so the whole
Plasma concept hasn't stuck yet 😊 Good thing out may get into Plasma so I can
use this wallpaper option again. Thanks!

[plasmashell] [Bug 379649] Application Launcher search box does not accept keyboard input

2017-05-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379649

After additional use, I've observed that the problem is not limited to
Application Launcher, but is also visible when authenticating to install
package updates (e.g. authentication dialog pop up from Discover) and the
network manager.

I no longer know under what category this issue should be classified and would
appreciate if someone more knowledgeable could set a more appropriate, and
perhaps more general, classification.
