2017-10-17 Thread Philippe ROUBACH
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385891

i right click on a "from" address in a mail
then
i select "HTML" then check "display html format for this contact"
then
i right click on a "from" address in same mail
then
i select "HTML" then "display html format for this contact" is not checked !
then
i wait about 15 s
then
i right click on a "from" address in same mail
then
i select "HTML" then "display html format for this contact" is well checked.

if i don't wait 15 s then i rechecked "display html format for this contact"
then this creates a second identical contact in addressbook.

[kalarm] [Bug 385892] New: Sound not working

2017-10-17 Thread Rodrigo Alonso
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385892

Bug ID: 385892
   Summary: Sound not working
   Product: kalarm
   Version: 2.11
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Reporter: rodrigo.alons...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 108421
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108421&action=edit
Console output

When setting an audio alarm, there is no sound, even though the interface
reacts as if there was. Audio works otherwise normally in KDE, in fact I can
listen an audio file from the preview button in the file dialog window but not
when clicking on the Try button nor when triggering the actual alarm.

How to reproduce: I had previously set a command alarm. I opened KAlarm from
the console, clicked on create audio alarm, manually wrote the path to an
existing OGG file, then clicked on "Try" (to the left of OK/Accept) and nothing
happened (other than the `QObject::connect: Cannot...` logs onwards)

2017-10-17 Thread RJVB
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385883

How is that a library bug? You may not agree with the design principle, but
it's nothing new that not all headers are always self-sufficient. There's no
bug in the sense that testGbmSurface completes without error.

That said, I see that I only had the 10.1.3 dev package installed, the library
is at 11.2.0 . The gbm.h from that newer version includes stddef.h, that should
also prevent the issue.

[kdevelop] [Bug 385889] New: Kdev-Xdebug enters to a loop when an invalid variable is inspected

2017-10-17 Thread Waldo Cancino

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: wcanc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hello,

I use the Xdebug Kdevelop plugin in both 4.x and 5.x (master). When I try to
evaluate an expression in Xdebug ( i.e. $a+$b ), the debugger enter in a loop
and renders the interface unresponsive. The same happens if, for instance, I
make a typo in the variable name. This problems seems to happen only in the
Xdebug component, I try the same in c/python debuggers an error is displayed
when typing an invalid expression.

Simple way to reproduce it

Breakpoint on the echo line, then start xdebug and type "c" in the variable
inspector ==> unresponsive interface.

We do have a number of test programs under none/tests/arm which are supposed to
test VFP.

Please could you have a look if your test program would belong into one of
these; otherwise add it there.

Then post the results of running the regression test suite before and after
your changes are applied. I will then take your patch in.

Bug ID: 385886
Summary: Right clicking on a menu item and immediately right
clicking somewhere else will show the menu item's
contextual menu and not the contextual menu of the
clicked element
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.11.1
  Platform: Other

  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: rodrigo.peloro...@gmail.com

I could reproduce this in Gwenview and Dolphin.

To reproduce in Dolphin:

- Left click on the File menu
- Right click anywhere but the top menu bar (an file or the white space between
files)

Result:

The contextual menu for the File menu item will appear.

I have recorded a video of such behavior here: https://youtu.be/DbEDLj2ptPo

Bug ID: 385885
Summary: Rectangular Region Selection doesn't work w/ scaling
on multiple monitors
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: dark...@nearce.com
  Target Milestone: ---

This may be a duplicate of: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357022.

However, it seemed different enough, I figured it warranted a report.

Reproduction Steps:
1. Set DPI Scaling to 2x on a multi monitor system
2. Relogin
3. Take a screen shot using Rectangular Region mode

Actual result:
The secondary monitor goes white.

Expected result:
The rectangular region tool works the same with and without scaling.

Reproduced on KDE 5.11.1 using both native 4k and HD resolution hardware.

2017-10-17 Thread William L . Thomson Jr .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313697

Others may not run into this. But I think you can replicate by storing Kmail2
maildir folders on a full partition. I bet that will replicate the issue.
Seemed to record an entry in akonadi but the email was empty on file. Maybe
should have errored out etc vs show empty email.

The empty email was pulled from server, so it was not recoverable after. Thus
the need for an error vs current action. Its likely a one off scenario as
mostly likely use a single large partition or other. But I believe the problem
still exists and could be replicated by having a partition without enough free
space to store and incoming email. But enough space for akonadi to record the
email and attempt to fetch it, just unable to write to disk.

[dolphin] [Bug 385758] Genre Option in Additional Information

2017-10-17 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385758

Building from source in principle isn't too hard.
1. get dependency packages `apt build-dep dolphin` (in Ubuntu/Debian-based
distros)
2. Clone Dolphin repo locally: `git clone git://anongit.kde.org/dolphin.git`
3. Build it: `cd dolphin && cmake . && make && sudo make install

There are many ways this can go wrong, and if that happens, you should head
over to the KDE forum or another online support resource, as that's not what
this bug tracker is for.

Since you're a DIY kind of guy, why don't you make the video yourself once
you've managed to build it from source? ;)

You should upload a video tutorial on how to change Genre from Source Code. If
I can do Dolphin then I could do tweak other Free Source Apps. Reading can
sometimes be confusing because simple things as renaming dependencies, learning
other things, and using new software is hard to understand when I'm just a DIY
learner.

Ever since Kubuntu-12 I wanted to change this little nuisance. I never had the
time, but now I think watching videos has helped me a lot.

For me on Plasma 5.11.1 it works fine: KDE applications have their global menu
(at least under X) and GTK or QT4 applications have their local menu.
Libreoffice firefox, GIMP.. They all have their local menu. Even an audacity
flatpak has its own local menu.

Is this the case for you too? Or do you still have problems with menus that are
hidden?

Bug ID: 385883
Summary: KWin5 trivial build failure against gbm 10.1.3
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.11.1
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: general

simple patch

KWin 5.11.1 fails to build against the system gbm on Kubuntu 14.04.5 LTS (for
use with a personal Neon5-like environment). It's a trivial error: size_t is
undefined (= gbm.h apparently expects sys/types.h to be included).

Including the headerfile fixes the build.

[kmail2] [Bug 377070] Kmail emptied inbox, all emails deleted!!!

2017-10-17 Thread William L . Thomson Jr .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377070

(In reply to Martin Steigerwald from comment #9)
> William, do you really expect someone to read this after all your previous
> ranting? I wouldn´t.

I have different expectations of others. Given the experience, I could
understand if another was expressing frustration due to issues. If software I
wrote caused serious problems for another. I would likely read it if they took
the time to write it. If they did not care, they would not even comment right?

> Also "something with filters" is *way* to unspecific in order to say
> anything about it. So if you have a reproducable bug regarding filters, feel
> free to report it, but please 1. with a different tone, and 2. in a *new*
> bug report.

I would but I moved on and am not able to help in that process. If its not
effecting others it would just be a false report.

> I do have an insanely complex filter setup and it works just fine. But there
> are many ways to setup filters in a way that they conflict which each other
> and so on, so what you see can easily just be a result of misconfigured
> filters (i.e. mistake made by you as an user.)

I would love to blame myself. But I had not messed with filters in some time. I
had lots of them, and they worked fine. Once I setup them up I rarely change.
They had been the same for some time, across a few versions of Kmail2. I cannot
explain what caused emails to end up in all sorts of folders they did not
belong. I just assumed it was a filter, as that seems to be the only think that
sorts emails. It very well could have been something else.

> Thanks, Martin (do not expect me to reply to any rants you may come up with,
> its not that I think Akonadi is perfect – far from it, I even agree it might
> be good to replace it at some time, maybe with the new Sink – but for me it
> basically works quite okayish meanwhile).

Sorry for the rant, but having had numerous email issues with Kmail2. I was at
my limits. I can handle issues with many things, but email is not one. More so
when used to make a living and losing important work emails. Its not something
others even tend to believe. My email client screwed up and deleted emails.
Yeah right that was something you did. Just like my issues with filters was
blamed on me, regardless if it was a user issue or not. Which I am pretty sure
I did not mess up filters. They worked before and after.

I had no clue the emails were in the wrong folders. I thought they were
deleted. Many did not even match any filter as they were from my inbox. It was
super weird but given my numerous issues and lost emails before. It was not
till migrating to Claws Mail that I found them and commented.

> Thank you and good luck with Claws Mail.

Thus far months later not a single issue with claws mail other than some very
minor UI quirks. I haven't even bothered to file bugs. I may look to submit
patches/PR in any bug report as part. Being more familiar with C than C++.

Part of why I moved on. I did not see myself being in a position to actually
help with the issues. At least I reported them. Its not like most take time to
report bugs.

I think if you put yourself in my shoes you can understand the frustration and
rants

Thanks for being receptive, dealing with the rant, and closing with a polite
statement! I really liked KMail2, just not the backend stuff. I am a DB guy but
more of one to put it all in the db. Syncing dbs with files on disk is
difficult. But filters many avoid. Part of why I left QT was like Trojita, the
alternative to Kmail2 will not get filters. The developers I believe are anti
filters. I need filters :)

Maybe to filter myself at times :P

Yakuake having it lauched the second time in a Plasma-Wayland session

When using Yakuake under a Plasma-Wayland session something strange happens:
after having Yakuake started and launched the first time everything seems
alright. But when launching it the second time something strange happens:
It doesn't appear as expected at the top of the screen but right in the middle
of it. I still can use it for usual terminal work but it is just strange.
The Attachment shows the problem.
I'm using KDE-Neon User Edition with the Plasma 5.11.1 desktop,
KDE-Frameworks-Version 5.39.0
Qt-Version 5.9.1
Kernel-Version 4.10.0-37-gereric
