[okular] [Bug 385468] "Missing \"Version=5\", file '/usr/share/kconf_update/okular.upd' will be skipped."
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385468 --- Comment #4 from Matthew Dawson--- The original reason this was added was that KDE4 update scripts would get run by KF5, creating a configuration file. Then the KDE4 migration would not run, resulting in users losing their settings. This was put in at the time to stop that from occurring. Ideally, kconf_update would not create an empty configuration file for a migration just to note the migration had been run. However, there are some side effects to that change which make it more complicated to implement, and thus has not yet happened. Without fixing kconf_update, I don't want to back out the change as it still has a good reason. I also like that all the update files now have an enforced version header, which will make it easy to update the format in the future. And most configuration file update scripts should now have the header if required, so there will likely be more pain to revert it at this time. However, you do raise the good point that this requirement is not well communicated. That should definitely be fixed. Is there any particular place you would have expected this information to be present? Also, if the configuration update script is for KDE4 configuration files, you can skip putting a Version=5 header at the top. Instead, you can have the fully updated file migrated to the new configuration file location and start with a fresh update script for KF5. Or continue adding to the file. Whatever works best for okular. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Maybe something wrong in the database stored in the file or a scenario not covered in the new version. What I have shared is real snapshots of my records and definitely there is a problem which cannot be reproduced by simulating new projects. I am not sure if I there is any utility that can decrypt the data so i can share my file with you for analysis. if so, please let me know, or I can share my screen with you to validate my argument your self, or we can close this bug if there no other option. [valgrind] [Bug 385912] New: none/tests/rlimit_nofile fails on newer glibc/kernel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385912 Bug ID: 385912 Summary: none/tests/rlimit_nofile fails on newer glibc/kernel Product: valgrind Version: 3.13.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jsew...@acm.org Reporter: m...@klomp.org Target Milestone: --- none/tests/rlimit_nofile fails because it expects setrlimit(RLIMIT_NOFILE, NULL) == -1 and errno == EFAULT. But on newer glibc/kernel this just silently succeeds. This might be a regression in glibc (or the kernel?). [frameworks-plasma] [Bug 385911] New: Font rendering is broken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385911 Bug ID: 385911 Summary: Font rendering is broken Product: frameworks-plasma Version: 5.37.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: components Assignee: notm...@gmail.com Reporter: herberteu...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 108434 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108434=edit Screenshots Font rendering is broken on specific widgets in specific styles after my system is upgraded to KDE Frameworks 5.37.0 using Qt 5.9.1, on NixOS 17.09.1502.19879836d1. The other relevant packages are fontconfig 2.12.1 and freetype 2.7.1. With the font setting in figure-1, widget style set to `MS Windows 9x`, there are several mis-rendering cases. Figure-2 shows that bold italic face is only rendered correctly on title bar in Plastik. Figure-3 shows that italic face is mis-rendered on normal widget. Figure-4 shows that bold face is mis-rendered. If the General face is set to bold, as in figure-5, it can be seen in figure-6 that normal text is rendered bold as expected, but bold italic text is still mis-rendered. For title bar, Plastik is still the only style in which bolt italic face is rendered correctly, as seen in figure 7. This issue was previously discussed on the mailing lists. When the oauth dialogue comes up, during the initial account setup, I enter my credentials and finally the six digit google authenticator code and the dialogue closes before it shows the page where I can grant permission to akonadi to access my account. A few seconds later the oauth window comes back and I have to do the same allover again, again, the dialogue closes immediately after I entered the 6 digit code but before I am prompted to grant permission to akonadi. And so it continues. Only after I disable 2 step verification, it works, but of course that's a security whole that I would rather see fixed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
