I have something simular. First run looks good, in the top middle, but from
that on all openings of the window moves to the top left of the screen.

If you try to change yakuake window size via Shift-Alt left/right arrows, the
resize will actually reposition the window to the correct top middle location
with new size. But if I close the window and repoing it again, it moves back
the incorrect top left position.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386110

No, it doesn't. The searching itself works, but there is no highlighting.

I found out that it has to do with display scaling. On my system,

~/okular(master)> echo $QT_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTORS
eDP-1=1.5;DP-1=1.5;HDMI-1=1.5;HDMI-2=1.5;DP-1-1=1.5;DP-1-2=1.5;DP-1-3=1.5;

If I replace all these 1.5 by 1.0 then the bug disappears.

[frameworks-kconfig] [Bug 386170] New: Strange prefix change in cmake or compilation

2017-10-25 Thread shevegen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386170

Bug ID: 386170
   Summary: Strange prefix change in cmake or compilation
   Product: frameworks-kconfig
   Version: 5.39.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: matt...@mjdsystems.ca
  Reporter: sheve...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Hello.

I downloaded the kconfig framework program from here:

  https://download.kde.org/stable/frameworks/5.39/kconfig-5.39.0.tar.xz

I extract it then do this:

  cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr

The error I get is:

CMake Error at cmake_install.cmake:400 (file):
  file cannot create directory: /usr/s/cmake/KF5Config. Maybe need
  administrative privileges.

make: *** [Makefile:129: install] Error 1

-

I have no idea why /usr/s/ is the prefix when I use /usr only as
prefix. It confuses me completely. I never had that with GNU
autoconfigure either. Is there some stray prefix that gets inserted?

Because I can assure you to 100%, that I used manually this line:

  cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr

so no idea why it suddenly becomes /usr/s/.

[frameworks-kconfig] [Bug 386170] Strange prefix change in cmake or compilation

2017-10-25 Thread shevegen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386170

--- Comment #1 from shevegen  ---
Btw the error message is also bogus.

I am the superuser, so I have no idea why the message tells me
"need administrative privileges". :)

I also created a file called s in "/usr/s" because I can not
explain the behaviour, so the above trigger is because of course
you can not create anything in the "directory" /usr/s - because
I made it a file. But this is not the issue anyway, the real
issue is why something in the build system assumes /usr/s/ as
the target prefix when /usr/ is used.

Thanks for filing the issue here. Though it would be better to have individual
symptoms filed separately, so they can be properly tracked. There might be
several roots involved, which all will need individual treatments. (And a title
"issues with translations" is very generic, could be anything and thus sadly
rather useless when scanning the list of bugs).

On recent master and 5.2 branch, after
https://cgit.kde.org/kdevelop.git/commit/?h=5.2&id=5cba8f47dbcf9e4fa46909011e86a1d6725f75a7
, I cannot reproduce the issues listed here:
"Color Theme" menu item and the "Coloring" settings in Settings/User Interface
are translated using the strings from the catalogs matching the locale
settings, either from env var or as stored in klanguageoverriderc.

If you can still reproduce the issue mentioned here

One related open issue which still can be seen, but which needs being filed
with KDE Frameworks as provider of logic is that translations for Qt strings
are by chance not respecting the custom language switching, due to race
condition with Q_COREAPP_STARTUP_FUNCTION both being used by
ecm_create_qm_loader's generated code and kswitchlanguagedialog's one :/

When kmail crashs it will display a dialogbox (kcrash) which will provide a
crash info. So we can know where is the bug. But you need debug info package
from your distro.

[krita] [Bug 386172] New: Layers mixed up

2017-10-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386172

Bug ID: 386172
   Summary: Layers mixed up
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.3.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Layer Stack
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: j...@ritman.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

I am using Krita for very simple images and have noticed a tendency for the
layers to get mixed up. So I may have 3 layers but frequently bits of layers
I've turned off are showing in the main image (If I hover over a layer on the
layer table it displays a small picture of each layer correctly). The same
thing happens when I save to png files, layers I've turned off are exported to
the output file - if fact today, when I wanted to export the 3 layers I'd
created to 3 separate files the only way I could do it was to delete other
layers completely, turning them off failed to work. I understand this is not a
very normal thing to do but I am using Krita to knock up some sprites for a
game.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385982

--- Comment #6 from cryptod...@libertymail.net ---
Patch available:  https://phabricator.kde.org/D8469

It just uses the XDG_DATA_DIR to calculate the default directory for the
encrypted data.
The stuff the user actually interacts with is still set at ~/Vaults/[name]

And these are just suggestions, defaults.

The XDG_DATA_DIR is specified as;

"the base directory relative to which user specific data files should be
stored"

User data, in other words.

When running kfind in Qt 5.10, the drag starts but once the drag pixmap

pressing Escape.

This worked in Qt 5.9 and it also seems to work in other apps using QTreeView

I can confirm. I disabled my global menu and now Okular doesn't show its menu
bar anymore. I can toggle it using Ctrl+M, however. The same affects Gwenview
from what I can tell. Other apps, like KWrite, just show their window menu bar
again automatically.

[Discover] [Bug 385482] Discover crashes immediately when scrolling through Games section with down arrow key

Aleix Pol> Hey, can you provide a backtrace? Also I'd need some more
information, for example what Discover version are you using.

Nate Graham> Unfortunately the version of Discover packaged with
Kubnutu 17.04 is super rough and buggy.

I think Nate's comment explains the problem -- I was using the version
of Discover packaged with the 64-bit Kubuntu 17.04 download (from
https://kubuntu.org/getkubuntu/ ).

On an older Windows laptop, I used the Universal Installer recommended here --

https://www.pendrivelinux.com/put-kubuntu-10-04-on-a-flash-drive-using-windows/

to put a Live CD-equivalent copy of Kubuntu on a USB drive. It seemed
to work fine. After a reboot, Kubuntu was running on the laptop with
no apparent errors.

I immediately tried to use Discover to look at what software packages
are available, and ran into trouble -- slowed me down a bit on my
attempt to move to Linux on that laptop.

Sounds like the crash is more or less a known issue, so it's probably
fine to close this bug. If I see it again on a newer version of
Discover I'll email again.

Many thanks --

Dave

If I'm reading your patch correctly...

When using encfs you are now enforcing the location of the encrypted data.

>Only when the user picks EncFS we then continue to not allow the user to
>pick his 'device' directory where the encrypted files would go, just store
>this on the XDG_DATA_DIR which is defined as

Whilst that may be *your* ideal, and I don't doubt the security issues
underlying it. The user now has *no* choice. I can't agree with that.

I apologise in advance if I've misread your patch.

Untested. If this does not work, I will try a tested patch later.

for (int i = 0; i < s.length(); ++i)
if (!s[i].isPrint()) {
if (s[i].isHighSurrogate() && i + 1 < s.length() && s[i +
1].isLowSurrogate()) {
uint uc = QChar::surrogateToUcs4(s[i], s[i + 1]);
if (QChar::isPrint(uc)) {
// also skip low surrogate
++i;
continue;
}
}
s[i] = QChar(u' ');
}

This only replaces wrong surrogates (not paired), and unprintable paired
surrogates with spaces.

Nate has it right, since CryFS doesn't have the security issues there are no

Removing the choice for EncFS makes sense because security isn't optional.

Loading the minimal test case I verified:

With syntax highlight and auto indent:
- Move the cursor to the end of lines 2 or 3 and hit enter: BUG.
- Move the cursor to the end of line 1 and hit enter: WORKS.
- Move the cursor to the middle of any line and hit enter: WORKS.

With NO syntax highlight, but with auto indent:
- Move the cursor to the end of lines 2 or 3 and hit enter: BUG.
- Move the cursor to the end of line 1 and hit enter: BUG.
- Move the cursor to the middle of any line and hit enter: WORKS.

With syntax highlight, NO auto indent:
- All cases WORK.

Similar effect on kdevelop, but I did not test so thoroughly.

[akregator] [Bug 256034] Feed content is displayed with date 07.02.2106 07:28

2017-10-25 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=256034

--- Comment #22 from Marc González Majoral ---
So, after updating to 5.5.3, akregator has been a mess, and I noticed something
that maybe could help with this issue.

A weird bug happened to me causing that, after updating all feeds, all new
articles appeared with no date on them (empty column). After a reboot, all the
articles I tried to read with an empty date now appear as 07.02.2106 07:28.

The conclusion is that apparently, if there's a problem with setting the date
when getting/reading a new article (which seems it should never happen, why not
just set the current date then?), for some reason it gets the 07.02.2106 one
(that seems like a maximum possible integer value for a timestamp or something,
don't you think?).

Hope it helps, this has to be one of the longest running bugs in kdepim, and
still unconfirmed for some reason.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: gons...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

After updating to 5.5.3, I can't do anything with articles.

Even with any article selected, the "Article" entry in the window's menu bar
has all its elements greyed out, and when I right-click any article, the
contextual menu doesn't show up. Also I can't use any article-related
shortcuts, like 'Supr' for deleting, 'Return' and the variants to open the
articles, etc...

I'm also missing the contextual menu when I right click any feed in the feeds
list panel.

This basically means akregator is unusable for me right now. I can only get new
articles or create new feeds.

[krita] [Bug 386178] New: Invoking Color Selector, Show Common Colors or Show Color History deactivates keyboard and shortcuts in krita

2017-10-25 Thread ocumo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386178

Bug ID: 386178
   Summary: Invoking Color Selector, Show Common Colors or Show
Color History deactivates keyboard and shortcuts in
krita
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.3.1
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kxk-ocumoatbugs...@lugosys.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Invoking the Color Selector, Show Common Colors, or Show Color History widgets
disables (temporarily) the keybord and all Krita shortcuts, until moving the
focus from Krita main window to any other place and returning back.

It seems to be related to this particular type of Qt widget, which is different
than the normal modal dialogs. It would seem as if the widget is not
destroyed/exited properly or somehow doesn't return the focus properly until we
perform one of the actions listed below, after which the shorcuts and keyboard
work again.

IMPORTANT: This problem happens in the Xfce window manager, and it does NOT
happen in KDE (or at least I can't reproduce it there).

The problem would appear to me to be related to the infamous "Qt in GTK" or
"GTK in Qt" troubles; I wonder if it would also happen in other GTK
environments.
Please note that this bug is somewhat similar to Bug 366353, but I am opening
it new here, because that one is not very well documented, no answer was ever
provided to developer's question, it's old and seems dead.

Krita 3.3.1 (appimage) in Kubuntu 16.04 running Xfce (system details below).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to reproduce:

0. Use Xfce window manager. (In my KDE system this problem does NOT exist.)
1. Open a krita file and paint some stroke.
2. Invoke the the Color Selector widget (e.g. Shift + I in my case). When it
shows up, select a color.
Note: The same problem will happen if you invoke the Show Common Colors or
the Show Color History widgets.
3. Paint some stroke. From this moment on, shortcuts stop working, i.e. krita
does not respond to any keyboard shortcut at all, e.g. Shift + I, ctrl + Z, U,
etc.
4. Try any krita shortcuts, for example undo with ctrl + Z or any others. Krita
does not react to any keyboard shortcuts.
5. To get the shortcuts working again, changing the focus from the main Krita
window and then focus back again to Krita will "fix it". For example, doing any
of the following actions works:
a) Press + and release it. After this, the shortcuts work again.
OR:
b) Click on any other window that is open on your Desktop, to change the
focus to that window, and immediately click back on Krita's window to get the
focus on Krita again. OR:
c) Minimize the Krita main window, and then restore it back. OR:
d) Open any krita dialog by clicking menus, and then close that dialog.
Examples:
Click Settings > Configure Krita and just press Cancel to close the
dialog. OR:
Click File > New, then click Cancel or hit the Esc key to close the
dialog. OR:
Probably opening and closing any dialog would do.

The shortcuts work again, but opening any of the mentioned widgets again, the
problem reproduces again: it works, but then shortcuts stop working until you
change focus of the window or open and cancel any dialog.

Expected Results:

Invoking and using any widget or tool should not cause any blockage of
shortcuts or any other usability impairments.

Additional notes:

Although I'm not 100% sure these are related, I thought I should mention:

The following error is shown on console output around the time we select Shift
+ I (Color Selector shortcut) for the first time, (but not necessarily
anymore):

QLayout: Attempting to add QLayout "" to QWidget "KritaShape/KisToolLine",
which already has a layout

In my .shotcuts file, 'KritaShape/KisToolLine' is set to 'none'.

The following warning (and/or other similar ones) is also show during this
time:

krita.general: WARNING: The following shortcuts are not registered in the
collection, they might have wrong shortcuts in the end:
