(Note: while the leak does seem to be wallpaper slideshow related, I don't believe this is a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381000, as the memory leak portion of that was deemed to have already been fixed in Qt 5.9.2, as per https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386844 ) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 387328] Squished fonts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387328 --- Comment #5 from John --- The only thing I'm doing in '.Xresources' is setting the font dpi: $ cat ~/.Xresources Xft.dpi: 288 It seems like everything related to the shell has squished, or tall text. So that includes the settings menus. I took screenshots comparing my laptop, the one with the squished fonts, to my desktop. They are both configured the same way. The one with the squished fonts is on top. I also included full screenshots with both of them with the settings menu open. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Note that Okular now behaves like a normal editor, i.e. no more autosave. Same for https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/devnet/actionscript/articles/PLRM.pdf. Try to save it to another location." I can confirm that saving to another location does work correctly. [okular] [Bug 332136] Enable saving .okular archives as pdf, preserving annotations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332136 Henrik Fehlauer changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED CC||rk...@lab12.net --- Comment #7 from Henrik Fehlauer --- As of KDE Applications 17.12, saving an Okular document archive originating from a PDF back to a PDF while preserving annotations will be supported. Not only that, it also works actually (just tested it :). As for saving arbitrary formats to PDF, this can be achieved to some degree via printing in theory. However, preserving annotations probably won't work in that case. [okular] [Bug 266680] Show recently/frequently used documents and bookmarks on otherwise empty start screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=266680 Henrik Fehlauer changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED CC||rk...@lab12.net Summary|Library, or list of |Show recently/frequently |bookmarked documents. |used documents and ||bookmarks on otherwise ||empty start screen --- Comment #2 from Henrik Fehlauer --- Fest: Thanks for your thoughts and the sketch. I feel this workflow issue (i.e. adding a second type of favorites in addition to regular bookmarks) is not really specific for Okular, you could argue similarly for nearly every application and eventually even think about a new meta-library-manager. However, this new application already exists and is called Dolphin, i.e. there you have the option to create a "Favorites" folder and add (static) symlinks to documents (of any type, not only PDF) as you wish. I believe with Baloo there is also the possibility to (dynamically) list frequently used documents (but maybe this could work better with grouping by filetype/author etc.?). Note that Windows Explorer also has a feature called "Library", not sure how that works but could be worth studying in detail and opening feature requests for Dolphin for the nice parts we are still missing. Florian: I like your alternative suggestion to improve the empty start screen, as this adds some of the library feature without adding clutter to the rest of the UI. Let's make the bug (or rather feature request) about this. We could also look at Gwenview, LibreOffice and Firefox regarding ideas. But also adding unique features might be useful, e.g. sorting by author or a search-as-you-type drill-down list. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[okular] [Bug 336381] Directly save bookmarks to PDF
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336381 Henrik Fehlauer changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rk...@lab12.net Summary|easily transfer bookmarks |Directly save bookmarks to |between computers |PDF --- Comment #11 from Henrik Fehlauer --- Saving bookmarks to Okular document archives is tracked in Bug 330961. Let's make this bug about saving bookmarks natively to the PDF. Testing Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader, both have a single/combined panel for bookmarks and TOC entries (Okular has separated "Bookmarks" and "Content" panels, but also supports other file formats). Adding a "bookmark" in those programs will show up as a new "Content" entry in Okular. Okular now supports storing annotations directly to PDF and PDF is probably the most important file format for Okular's user base by far. In addition, epub documents are likely to be read from start to finish, while tech spec PDFs tend to get quite long without being read linearly and custom bookmarking is most useful in that case. Therefore, I propose to optimize the user experience regarding (sharing) bookmarks with non-Okular users for the specific case of PDFs. In addition to providing support for saving bookmarks to the PDF, this would need some thinking about workflow and UI, i.e. how not to confuse "Content" and "Bookmarks". (Note that in macOS Preview "Bookmarks" seem to be separate too, but I could not investigate further how this is handled there.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Interesting. If I dock the tool panel, this behaviour doesn't occur, however your guess as to hovering doesn't seem to be the case. When it's undocked, it doesn't matter which tool I might cross over, if any, because pressing space always switches to the same (seemingly random) tool for that session. In my test just now, it kept going back to the crop tool, even if I picked a variety of other tools and never went near the crop tool with my cursor. There's something amiss with it when undocked it seems. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291176 Henrik Fehlauer changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 CC||rk...@lab12.net Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED --- Comment #4 from Henrik Fehlauer --- Testing with 17.12 Beta, ".okular" is preselected and also mentioned at the bottom. If you change to ".pdf", it will actually be saved as a PDF and work fine. If you have no extension at all, ".okular" gets appended automatically. Only if you change to something strange like ".okular-foo", Okular's automatic reopening will fail, and the saved version cannot be opened manually unless renamed. IMO the behaviour of the file dialog is good enough. [okular] [Bug 268575] Okular should display a warning about before annotating
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=268575 Henrik Fehlauer changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED CC||rk...@lab12.net --- Comment #39 from Henrik Fehlauer --- As of KDE Applications 17.12, automatic saving of annotations to the external location has been removed. For PDFs, you can save directly. For unsupported file formats, you get this warning upon saving or closing: "You are about to save changes, but the current file format does not support saving the following elements. Please use the Okular document archive format to preserve them." As Comment 1 is about "standard conformance", this probably concerns PDFs and has been achieved. Therefore I am closing this bug now. For files like JPGs, a warning will be shown although not upfront, but why would anyone expect saving annotations natively to work anyway? IMO the warning is good enough now. If anyone cares about a warning upfront and also an indication that printing annotations won't work (yet) in this case (which is more of a missing feature, actually), please open a new bug without the noise and clearly state your use case. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Therefore this changes the situation a bit. However, it still does not work. We get "The file 'a.pdf.gz' has been modified by another program, which means it can no longer be saved.". Even worse, "Save As" does not work either, meaning any annotations added to a gzipped PDF cannot be saved in any way. Workaround to still get a gzipped file: Unzip PDF, open in Okular, save as "Okular document archive" (which is a tar.gz, actually). Nevertheless, this should be fixed as the workaround is not obvious for regular users. Reverting 559836c39270 solves the issue as well as the old bug for me, so the fix is probably easy (some special timestamp handling for gzipped files?). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

That is not restricted to Windows. If the widths are inadequate to show the content, it is probably due to a font related issue, rather than Windows specific. The intent is definitely that all the content be visible. One possibility is that the system is returning incorrect font metrics, but I'm not sure how to check for that. [kdenlive] [Bug 369505] Audio and video clips randomly moves in the timeline after mysterius duplication of clips.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369505 --- Comment #3 from Clinton --- I have the same issue, but figured it was an edge-case beacuse I've a 16 hours timeline. I assumed I was pushing the scalability limitations of the software with a 1 megabyte project file. Loading and saving usually jumbles up some arbitrary section. I've decided to use Kdenlive as a "sandbox" for my project, and then edit together what I piece together into smaller project files with a more traditional workflow. If the problem is reproducible on a small scale, I'll submit the project file. But if the issue is a matter of scale and only large projects are vulnerable, then I'm happy to set up a Syncthing folder to transfer my project to any dev who wants a 19 gigabyte project with 306 files to reproduce the problem. My project is bigger now, but that's an older revision in which the problem still crops up. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385716 --- Comment #2 from Victor Wåhlström --- Tried this again. It smells like a Qt bug. When I tried 4.0 pre-alpha before I think I built it from source. Now I explicitly tested it with appimages, and the problem exists with both the 3.3.2 and 4.0 version. I cannot repro it when building locally. Both 3.3 and 4.0 works. At least the 3.3.2 appimage was built with Qt 5.6. I use Qt 5.7. I can't easily test with older version of Qt, though I suspect this might get resolved if built against a newer version of Qt. [kile] [Bug 387024] manually update live preview and separate it from editor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387024 --- Comment #2 from Stas --- Hello, thank you for the suggestion. However, this is not the same thing, as in case of normal compilation I loose the synchronization between source and preview. I want the preview to synchronize the position in the code and vice versa. To the save statement. The save for back-up is not the only issue. I often define new commands and they are in an extra mycommands.tex file. Now, when the live preview is enabled when I switch from the mycommands.tex file back to the text file, everything gets saved and the compilation of the live preview starts. But there is no need for me to update the preview as I have only added a commands without actually changing the real text. So I start to type in the text.tex file and the compilation breaks up Giving me some errors as output. Sometimes after such an error I have to run the live preview twice in order to have the preview compiled. You see, there is more than just "saving" behind this wishlist. I I can imagine that implementing this feature would not be a big deal as the functionality already exists and only a b´new button with a command has to be created. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
