[kdenlive] [Bug 386932] Audio playback is different pitch & not smooth.

2017-12-13 Thread Jesse

Just tested with the latest Appimage build JB provided. I can confirm: no more
pitch issue using .ogg or .wav audio files (even with audio driver set to
"Auto" in Kdenlive). Really nice work sir. :) Your time and efforts really paid
off on this one.

I'm experiencing this issue in 5.2.1 and it is quite annoying.
Any thoughts on whether it would be a simple or difficult fix?
It's not just unit tests but executable targets in general.

[kwin] [Bug 371731] Present Windows lags/stutters when window close buttons are enabled

2017-12-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371731

On both my Ivy Bridge and Skylake machine (both using integrated intel GPU), I
saw a great improvement in graphic performance including on this bug by adding
the following xorg config file: 20-intel.conf in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/
containing:

Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
Option "TearFree" "true"
Option "DRI" "3"
EndSection

AND by switching to the xserver-xorg-video-intel-hwe-16.04 instead of
modesetting.

This worked on both machine, one running neon user (plasma 5.11.4 Qt 5.9.3) and
the other neon lts (plasma 5.8.8 Qt 5.7.1) and add no problem since. This
effect is now very snappy rearranging windows after closing one. And again it
has improved performance on the desktop all around.

I found the solution here when look for another issue I had with graphics.

2017-12-13 Thread Thomas Schmitt

Hi,

but mkisofs has no stake in image burning. It _makes_ images.
Are you sure you have chosen the right job in K3B ?

(Normally i'd ask to run the mkisofs command in a shell and to watch for
an abort message, or to try xorrisofs as replacement of mkisofs.)

Have a nice day :)

Fortunately this is a packaging issue. No change is required on Kdenlive's
code. It simply means that packagers should be aware that libsamplerate is now
a mandatory dependency. Waiting for Jesse's confirmation so we can close this
one!

well, sorry, we rewrite simple.
we write issue it.
1.does not new action in brushes toolbar.
2.can new action in maintoolbar toolbar.
oh, why use 2 different name in settings?
filetoolbar or maintoolbar?
settings→toolbr show→file
settings→configure toolbrs→maintoolbar
we say firetoolbar same it.

reenact hear.
1.setting→configure toolbars
2.choose brushesandstuff
3.move new to brushesandstuff toolbar
4.ok
see, you click new in brushesandstuff toolbar.
do it?
we try disable and enable opengl.
ofcourse, we restart krita.
but does not change even it.

issue solution?
we think next.
1.do not move and use new with brushesandstuff toolbar.
2.can action new with maintoolber only.

and after that "akonadictl start" so it's not necessary to reboot machine.

I wishing Okular could display two .pdf music sheets side by side in its
presentation mode and that they could be advanced two pages at a time as well.
It behaves like this in whatever the mode is called before you enter
presentation mode.

Gotta close this as a WONTFIX, sorry everyone. It doesn't do anyone any good to
keep open tickets we don't intend to act on.

I understand that this is frustrating for folks, but Eike makes a lot of good
points. Many apps set really lousy window icons[1]. Often they're 32x32
bitmaps. Sometimes they're radically different from the pretty theme icons. And
they're not supported in Wayland anyway. Sometimes you have to make tough
design decisions, knowing that you can't please everyone and some people will
be negatively impacted. It's a hard call, but ultimately having consistent app
icons used throughout Plasma is important, so here we are.

[1] Some prominent examples:
- Firefox: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1371932
- Thunderbird: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1371931
- LibreOffice: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65754

[krita] [Bug 387884] New: Scripter does not run edits unless saved

2017-12-13 Thread Brendan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387884

Bug ID: 387884
Summary: Scripter does not run edits unless saved
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.0 pre-alpha
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Scripting
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bunf2...@apps.opensourcelaw.biz
  Target Milestone: ---

If a scripter script has been saved, using the Run action causes scripter to
load and run the script from its associated file - even if there are unsaved
changes in the script window.

To reproduce:
start scripter
file->new script
print("hello")
file-> save (choose filename and save)
press Run/Ctrl-R:

==
hello

add to edit window:
print("world")
press Run/Ctrl-R:

==
hello

That is, "world" is not printed, despite being in the edit window. This is
because saving the document sets _activeDocument flag and that causes the
script to load directly from the file.

There are different approaches to solving this
* add a dirty flag to the edit box and check that, put a dialog up to query
saving before running - or visual indicator that script has been changed or
toolbar warning that running script from file
* automatically save edit window before running (or have this as an option in
settings)
* have separate actions save+run (... from the file) and run (...from the
editor window)
* have separate actions run from file, run from editor (manual saving)
* have a "run-from-file" mode which doesn't display the edit window - or makes
it read only?
* run only script in window
* some combination

I personally would like to be able to run scripts directly from the file - so
that I can use a different editor.

Wanted feedback on UI before diving into patching.

if i set the view to show only unread articles, then i press '-' to navigate to

disappears, then the next article, then the next, ... until the entire
view/feed is marked as read.

Seems a bit like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381656, where the volume
indicator sometimes gets hidden with certain icon sizes.

Can you try this:

1. When you do see a "multiple windows" indicator, try resizing your panel; can
you make it disappear?
2. When you don't see a "multiple windows" indicator and one should be there,
try resizing your panel; can you now see it?

Please let me know if you can make either or both of those happen.

Hi Ural! I'm not sure it makes sense for us to implement what you're requesting
for such a specific use case. However, thanks to Plasma's flexibility, maybe we
can find you a new approach that gives you what you want in principle. With
such a complicated setup, it sounds like you might actually benefit from using
the regular task manager in a vertical configuration, with enough horizontal
width on your panel to see the icons' window titles, or at least the beginning
of them.

I think the problem doesn't appear any-more, the task manager has improved
since my report. But I'm now using the Latte Dock so I can't check in similar
conditions right now.

Couple of questions:

1. Can you test with Breeze, just to make sure the same thing happens there?

2. What you are calling the "Application launcher"... is this a Quicklaunch
widget, or are those apps that you pinned by right-clicking on their Task
Manager buttons and choosing "Pin" or "Show a launcher when not running"?

[kdenlive] [Bug 386932] Audio playback is different pitch & not smooth.

2017-12-13 Thread Jean-Baptiste Mardelle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386932

Ok, finally after spending many hours checking for regressions in the toolchain
I think I understood what happened. Recently, FFmpeg and thus MLT dropped the
avresample filter.

Before that change, MLT could use either libavresampleSo when an audio file
needs to be libsamplerate of FFmpeg's avresample filter. The AppImage only
relied on FFmpeg's avresample, so when it was dropped, we were left without
resampling, leading to the distortion reported.

I have now updated the AppImage to include libsamplerate which can now be used
be MLT for resampling tasks.

An updated AppImage is currently uploading at:
https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/kdenlive-17.12-x86_64.AppImage.mirrorlist

(File should be about 170Mb and should be ready in 45 minutes)
Please test whenever you can

I can still reproduce on 5.11.4. You don't even need to activate
raise-on-hover, just do this:

1. Turn on or continue to use focus Follows Mouse
2. Move one window partially in front but not completely covering another
3. Click on that window's Task Manager button

It gets minimized, not raised.

As of Plasma 5.11, the workflow listed in comment #10 is fixed: when the mouse
is hovered over an entry to display a tooltip, and then the mouse is clicked,
the tooltip disappears even though the cursor is still above the button. Since
that's fixed, and an alternative proposed hide-on-typing feature is basically
impossible, let's call this resolved now.
