2017-12-17 Thread Duncan

Bug ID: 387983
Summary: kcoreaddons git commit fbc5881b9 breaks kwin build
   Product: frameworks-kcoreaddons
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Target Milestone: ---

kcoreaddons commit fbc5881b9 (current head) breaks building kwin.

I'm running gentoo, with most kde packages from live-git using the gentoo/kde
overlay. Today, kwin refused to update, and even pinning to the currently
installed commit wouldn't allow it to build due to an automoc error. I traced
it down to kcoreaddons, and bisected there to current head, fbc5881b9. Using
the previous commit, kwin builds fine.

Here's the error from the log:

[kmymoney] [Bug 387970] Drill down backwards (via link) from a report to all transactions that support the report's number

I could think of having a specific hyperlink under each number of e.g. an
exp/inc report. In case you click on the link you will get a new report that
shows all the transactions that led to that number (the filtering configuration
for that report needs to be provided in the link somehow). A transaction report
itself already has a hyperlink on the date that you can click to open the
ledger at that transaction.

This is basically what the last paragraph of #261849 mentions (the idea did not
change in recent years). In fact, #261849 has some ideas for additional
hyperlinks.

Hello, see above

steps to reproduce:
1. open or make a new file
2. hit ctrl-T or the transform tool button

There was nothing on the backtrace, and I downloaded the debug symbols but that
did nothing after I reproduced the crash. It worked fine even a couple hours
ago, I don't know why it's not working and how to get more informetion about
the bug :( Im going to be using krita 4.0 for now.

I see, openSUSE's OpenSSL is built with FIPS enabled so it did not try to
compile all functions.

Patch updated, builds without OPENSSL_FIPS define as well.

[plasmashell] [Bug 358990] Make possible to move desktop icons freely again

Hello, I have used Unity and Gnome for many years, now I switched to KDE. Main
reason for that:

-> I heard/read that the philosophy of KDE is to offer an environment which is
most flexible and most freely configurable in many aspects.

For many KDE functions, I found this to be true indeed, and I like it. But this
restriction described above bothers me, too. I also want to be able to arrange
the symbols on the desktop freely, without forcing them into an invisible grid,
without the system forcing me to use one symbol layout structure.

This "grid-lessnes" should be configurable. It is for all other desktops
(Unity, Gnome, Budgie, Cinnamon, ...). So if KDE wants to be the most flexible
desktop manager of them all according to their philosophy, it should be at
least as flexible as the others. Currently, it is not in this aspect.

[digikam] [Bug 375703] Moving local grouped images into another remote album removes groups

2017-12-17 Thread Vincent Tassy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375703

Guys,

I downloaded the digikam-5.8.0-20171212T132305-x86-64.appimage

I'm still experiencing the same problem of the image groups being lost when
moving images to another collection.

Is the proposed patch incorporated in that build ??

When downloading Astrometry index files within the EKOS Alignment module, I now
get a message from KSTARS that the download timed-out even though the files
continued to download. That error message window would not go away preventing
the user from accessing any other windows our functions, you have to turn off
the power and restart.

[kwin] [Bug 387993] New: Compositor freeze external screen when plugging HDMI output after boot

2017-12-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387993

Bug ID: 387993
Summary: Compositor freeze external screen when plugging HDMI
output after boot
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.11.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: compositing
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: nono31...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi everyone,
I am using a Dell XPS 9560 running Archlinux (with KDE Plasma) as my daily
driver.

In terms of graphics, I only use the Intel graphics and have the NVidia card
disabled (/proc/acpi/bbswitch is OFF).

I tend to have my laptop connected to an external screen in extended desktop
mode (either through the HDMI output or an adapter / hub through the USB-C /
Thunderbolt 3 port).

If I boot my laptop with the screen connected, everything works.

However if I disconnect the screen and plug it back in, I end up with the
second screen showing the exact screen of the main laptop screen from the
moment I plugged the cable. The external screen is kind of freezed on that
image.

If I grab a window from the main screen and move it to the external screen with
my mouse, I onlw see the mouse moving on the second screen. The window seem to
be moved as well as I can see it disappearing progressively from the main
screen and I can grab it back (through a keyboard shortcut) to the main screen.

It's like there is an overlay showed between where the normal extended desktop
should be and the cursor that's 'frozen'.

In order to unfreeze the second screen and have the dualscreen setup work again
I need to press Shift+Alt+F12 to suspend the compositor. After that, my desktop
is fully functionning again.

[okular] [Bug 332835] Feature request: Insert text and replace text annotation

2017-12-17 Thread Simone Gaiarin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332835

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually I never thought of using the underline or
highlight associated popup notes for this task.

Still, I think that, especially when the document is shared with other users
(e.g. windows users), the fact that there is not a specific visual
representation of the deletion and addition of text can be confusing and not
intuitive.

A possible scheme for the workaround can be:
- Red underline means deletion
- Yellow highlight between two words means addition
- The two previous combined means replacement (this requires to switch between
the two tools to perform a single operation).

I would need to communicate this scheme to all the people I share the pdf with,
which may be inconvenient.

Acual result of hightlighting

When declaring a global lambda, or sending a lambda into a function inside the
global scope, all parameters of the lambda and variables in the body of the
lambda are hightlighed light pink, as of they were all in the global scope.

Expected result:
All variables and parameter to be hightlighted in different colors.

It's related, but not the same specific issue. I'm simply saying that myself
(and I'm sure other users) would like the choice of specifically filtering
which results show up when searching from Kickoff. I could care less for my web
browser bookmarks to show, but I search my documents OFTEN so I don't have to
go scouring through my folders to get to them.

[dolphin] [Bug 387936] Can't write on nfs mounted dir from Dolphin but can from terminal

2017-12-17 Thread Wolfgang Wallner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387936

Wolfgang Wallner changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||wolfgang-wall...@gmx.at

I can confirm this bug on Kubuntu 17.10, using Dolphin 17.04.3.

I have a folder mounted via NFS, and I can read its contents in Dolphin, but
can't create/modify/delete anything (e.g. the context menu for Create New is
grayed out).
It works from the command line, and I can also save files to this folder from
other progams.
However, Nautilus shows similar behavior as Dolphin.

Detailed description:
I have a Synology NAS, and mount some of the shared folders via NFS.
Mounting the NAS folder /volume1/homes shows this bug, while e.g. accessing
/volume1/video via NFS and Dolphin works fine.

The Synology NAS only accepts NFSv3 for /volume1/homes, but I do not know why.
Mounting the video folder with NFSv3 and NFSv4 works fine.

Permissions for the individual folders:
ls -ld / /mnt/ /mnt/DS216/ /mnt/DS216/homes/ /mnt/DS216/homes/woife
/mnt/DS216/Video
drwxr-xr-x 24 root root 4096 Dez 8 15:55 /
drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4096 Dez 17 13:12 /mnt/
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 0 Dez 17 19:36 /mnt/DS216/
drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 4096 Dez 5 21:53 /mnt/DS216/homes/
drwx-- 10 woife users 4096 Dez 17 19:16 /mnt/DS216/homes/woife
drwxrwxrwx 8 root root 4096 Dez 17 19:12 /mnt/DS216/Video

It does not matter if I mount the folder via autofs or manually.
The only option I pass via autofs is "-rw".
