[plasmashell] [Bug 389815] New: Possibility of code execution when opening volume which label contains `` or $() from notifications panel

2018-02-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 389815

   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.10.5
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux

  Reporter: ksieluzy...@gmail.com

Hello,

When opening volume which label contains `` or $() from notifictions panel the
code gets executed. For example, opening a volume named `touch blabla` creates
a file named blabla in user home folder.
This happens only when opening volume from notification bar (see attachment),
not when opening it from Dolphin directly.

Regards,
Krzysztof

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Import-Albums
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: flo.hen...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I facing a similar problem as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301936 but
instead of rename, I'm having problems with the "Date-based Sub-album" import.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Change the modification date of some images to a different date as the
"Creation date" stored in the metadata.

2. Open the Import dialog (Crtl+Alt+I), select the images and enter
"/-MM/-MM-dd" as custom date in the "Auto-creation of Albums"
settings.

3. Import the images.

Current result: Sub albums are created by the modification date entered in step
1.

Expected result: Sub albums are created by the creation date of the images
(anything else doesn't make sense).

If possible let the user choose which date should be used as described in the
linked bug ("Use file metadata (makes connection slower).")

Tiny icons on right click menu

Hi,

I have a laptop with a 4k hidpi screen. Scaling it up via the Display > Scale
option works, however context icons in various locations do not get scaled and
remain tiny. For example:

- The right click menu on the desktop
- The check mark/x on the OK/Cancel buttons of the configure desktop dialog
- The right click panel menu icons

I've looked at screen shots and videos of other users' hidpi desktops, and the
icons look normal for them - so perhaps its something unique to my setup.

Please see attached screen shots

[dolphin] [Bug 389810] New: Previews occasionally stop working after dragging files in / out of the directory

2018-02-02 Thread Mircea Kitsune
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389810

Bug ID: 389810
Summary: Previews occasionally stop working after dragging
files in / out of the directory
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 17.12.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: sonichedgehog_hyperblas...@yahoo.com
CC: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I was reluctant to report this bug as it's extremely rare and I have no idea
how to reproduce it on demand. However I've noticed it every now and then, and
it has been there for quite a while now.

Sometimes, typically after keeping a Dolphin instance open for a while and
having navigated between different directories, previews will stop working
properly: If you drag any new files into the current window, previews disappear
for all other items and they only show up as their icon. The issue goes away
once you press F5 to refresh, but its cause persists in that instance so if you
change the contents of the directory again you'll see the same problem.

To replicate: Open a Dolphin instance and try using it for as long as possible
to do various activities (I don't yet know the exact trigger). Then navigate to
a directory containing images where preview mode is enabled. Drop a new image
into or out of this window, and once you've done that you should see that
previews disappear and Dolphin acts as if they're disabled. You'll see previews
again if you navigate out and back into the directory or press F5, but the
issue will persist as you move files around until you restart Dolphin.

When inline renaming is enabled and you rename a file or directory, Dolphin
waits for roughly one second (potentially as it refreshes the contents of the
current directory) then moves your selection back to the item you just renamed.

This is a big annoyance, because if during this one second you use the arrow
keys to focus on another item you're taken back to the one you renamed and have
to start moving the selection all over again. Further more, if during this one
second you attempt to rename another item, the name seems to be applied to the
wrong file as well which is a potential danger.

I was reluctant to report this bug as it's extremely rare and I have no idea
how to reproduce it on demand. However I've noticed it every now and then, and
it has been there for quite a while now.

When sorting is set to "manually", the task manager will sometimes stop letting
you sort items on your own: Trying to drag entries around on the taskbar has no
effect, as if the option is set to "alphabetically". Sorting only starts
working again after closing certain windows or opening up new ones of a given
type. I know that it's independent on which desktop you're looking at and what
windows are minimized, but so far I couldn't find a pattern that offers more
info.

[dolphin] [Bug 389807] New: Dolphin freezes when hitting "enter" quickly after "delete"

2018-02-02 Thread Mircea Kitsune
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389807

Bug ID: 389807
Summary: Dolphin freezes when hitting "enter" quickly after
"delete"
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 17.12.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: sonichedgehog_hyperblas...@yahoo.com
CC: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I've been seeing this strange bug in recent versions of Dolphin. Note that it
may be difficult to reproduce on demand, and getting this exact effect may take
a bit of trial and error. Here is what I noticed so far:

If you select a file or directory, press the delete button, then immediately
hit the enter key, Dolphin permanently becomes unresponsive. It does not eat
any CPU unless most freezes of this sort, but the window is no longer painted
and you must kill the process to shut it down.

This would appear to be caused by the confirmation prompt ("do you really want
to delete this item" message) when enter is pressed right before the window
pops up. It looks as if the dialog forgets to inform the main window that it
has been closed, so the parent process still thinks the confirmation prompt
exists and that it's waiting for you to answer it.

To reproduce: Select any item in dolphin, then hit delete quickly followed by
enter. Enter must be pressed the instant the confirmation prompt appears, if
not a few moments before that. If you keep doing it at various time intervals,
you should eventually see Dolphin freezing and no longer responding.

recent issue (after an update perhaps) or was this an issue the first time you

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389785

I solved it! Instead of linking to /usr/lib64/libexec/kf5/kioslave I just had
to link to /usr/bin (I think that to other paths in the appimage are relative
paths as .././libexec/kf5...). So it works for me now.
To answer your question: I KDE Neon has the latest version (5.8.0 Build date:
Jan 14 2018 (target: Debian)) in the packages but I'd like to try the new
technologies as appimage since it is easier to switch between versions. And
this core functionality should work regardless of the used version.

To make this long story short: if anybody else has this issue, just link
kioslave to /usr/bin and everything is fine.

digikam. Do I have to grant special permissions? Is there a way to "manually"
call kioslave with the parameters digikam uses?

Let's see, maybe we can add another search path to the AppImage. Here it works

Where is this file in KDE Neon?

I'm sure this was already Qt 5.9. I've not seen the double linked list
corruption again. Instead most times I see a segfault in:

Thread 1 "digikam" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
QHashData::nextNode (node=node@entry=0x2dfd630) at tools/qhash.cpp:617.

But I'm not sure if this is the same bug. Maybe this one should be closed and I
open a new one for the segfault in QHashData

[kmail2] [Bug 389804] New: Crash on clicking on spam folder

2018-02-02 Thread Allan Sandfeld
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389804

Bug ID: 389804
Summary: Crash on clicking on spam folder
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@carewolf.com
  Target Milestone: ---

KMail now consistently crashes when I click on my spam folder (which somehow
also got itself changed to "act on new email").

The backtrace shows it is a recursive loop and probably a stack-overflow. It
has more than 4000 entries that all look the same:

I haven't found the bottom. The kmail version is 17.12.1 from neon.

[digikam] [Bug 389785] 'Open in Filemanager' dolphin not working

2018-02-02 Thread tuxflo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389785

Hmmm that sound strange, since KDE Neon is the "official" KDE distribution and
comes directly from the KDE community, so I think this should work. Also I'm
pretty sure, that there is not much KDE4 related stuff included in the system.

The other thing is, that I thought that the big advantage of technologies as
appimage (or snap, flatpak...) is that every dependency is included. So why not
add the needed kioslave executable to the package (if thats possible)?
Is there another way to get the recent version of digikam in this LTS version
of ubuntu (or KDE Neon)?

I can confirm this bug on latest ArchLinux with Plasma 5.11.5, and add
important things.

Both in Konsole and in Kate font change picker UI even doesn't have an option
to set bold style for Monospace.
BUT when I directly select "Hack" font with bold style in Kate - it works fine
and it's persistent after restarting Kate. When I do the same with Konsole -
font works only till I restart Konsole(but it's saved correctly in profile
anyway - "Font=Hack,12,-1,5,75,0,0,0,0,0,Bold")

Info:
Fonts in system - only default Noto-fonts + ttf-hack
Konsole, Kate - v17.12.1

Finally, the point is, whenever two commands get sent out (command 1: change
state; command 2 change colour OR command 1: change group 1 and command 2:
change group 2), Plasma crashes.

If I combine the two commands in one (changing state and colour OR greating a
new group with all lamps previously in groups 1 and 2) all is fine.

So the problem lies in the paralellization of commands.

Maybe that info helps.

Forget comment #11, Plasma crashes also when the Hue widget is asked to perform
two actions on one (available) lamp.

[dolphin] [Bug 389803] New: Improve Places category show/hide behavior: show/hide when clicking on header

2018-02-02 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389803

Bug ID: 389803
Summary: Improve Places category show/hide behavior: show/hide
when clicking on header
   Product: dolphin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: panels: information
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pointedst...@zoho.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 110311
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110311=edit
How macOS Finder does it

We now have support for hiding and showing Places panel categories. Yay!
However, the UI for this is rather hidden: you have to right-click on the
header to hide it and its category, and then when you do, the entire
thing--including the header--disappears, so you can easily forget about it or
not even realize that there's anything hidden that can be shown!

I would recommend using a UI more similar to how the macOS Finder implements
this: when you click on a header, its content collapses, the but the header
remains, to show you that there's hidden content. It's quite slick.

Bonus: if we implement this, we can feasibly hide certain categories by default
to reduce clutter (like "Search for") without impairing usability or
discoverability because people can easily show it if they'd like.

[krita] [Bug 389802] New: Old (Krita3) ODG text is saved into new .kra files (SVG) incorrectly

2018-02-02 Thread Dmitry Kazakov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389802

Bug ID: 389802
Summary: Old (Krita3) ODG text is saved into new .kra files
(SVG) incorrectly
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tool/Text
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: dimul...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

1) Open this file https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110279
2) Select a shape, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V
3) The new shape (it is a new-type text shape!) will have wrong font size!

The problem is somewhere is a way how we handle the resolution of the font
height. It is both saved and loaded as 12pt, but looks different.
