[krita] [Bug 389770] Transparency mask after layer transformation
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389770 --- Comment #2 from Dmitry Utkin --- Thank you for response, I understand the technical complexity, but it is really inconvenient how it works now. You have to switch to the mask and re-fill the emptied region. When you do complex transformations, you have to repaint the whole mask, because it become impossible to fix. This involves more time to complete the work. Often when developing software you have to write exceptions and hacks for some scenarios to make software work smoothly for the end user (at least this is my experience of developing software for the last ten years :). Well.. if it's not possible at all or too much work to to fill the cleaned area with opaque, it's still usable. Thanks again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Hi King, Thank you so much! But I argue that I don't need real equipment, CDEmu[1] is enough to reproduce general issues or debug for supporting general features, so I prefer K3B users build k3b from github[2] by themselves, and provide screenshot, debug log, or gdb back trace info. Hi Thomas, Thanks for your teaching! Yes, K3B is just the frontend, it is just like Compiler Technology, the MinddleEnd and BackEnd are much more important than FrontEnd, so please continue leading me to fix relative issues :) [1] http://cdemu.sourceforge.net/ [2] https://github.com/kde/k3b Regards, Leslie Zhai GCC developer https://github.com/loongson-community/gcc/ LLVM developer https://reviews.llvm.org/p/xiangzhai/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387267 --- Comment #5 from reptilli...@live.com --- I believed I have commented on here before, but it didn't show up. I think there has to be a way to see networks of clone layers in order to make it easier on users to work with many clone layers to avoid this error. But I don't think this is a valid report, but it does reveal the very issue of working on many clone layers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386694 --- Comment #5 from reptilli...@live.com --- Okay, I think this bug report can be closed as it's invalid, but I do think this bug report reveals a big issue that needs to be addressed at some point. If someone works with a bazillion filter layers/clone layers, then it can be difficult to track them, and to resolve this issue, there needs to be some way to reveal how the document works via a network to track those filters/clones easier. If the developers believe that there needs to be some way to track those layers down easier, I'll make the bug report if any developers asks me to do so if necessary, and let me know on the decision on that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[k3b] [Bug 257602] K3B cannot burn Blurays (or AVCHDs)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=257602 --- Comment #20 from King_DuckZ --- I can open an issue on their github, but just to be sure we're talking about the same thing: I already have a directory containing a BDMV subtree (and CERTIFICATE). I don't know if anything needs to be modified during the burning process, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm just asking to burn that directory onto a bluray that will work correctly on tv players. As things are now, I can already burn everything using K3B and UDF 2.01, but tv players will not recognise the bluray as a video one. Likely because of rule n. 1 here: http://www.blu-raydisc.com/en/Industry/Specifications/PublicSpecs.aspx So as I see it as a user, K3B should just do the same thing as ImgBurn: you select the directories you want to burn, ImgBurn guesses from the tree structure that it's a video disk and asks if you want to use UDF 2.5 and make a video disk indeed. Then you press ok and wait for it to finish. If you're talking about the actual creation of bluray videos from your own .mkv files for example, then I think that's going to be much more complicated. However, it's not what I'm asking for. Either way, I found a mildly interesting forum thread here http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-141361.html detailing the binary file formats (see frank's post). As I understand it, the burning program might have to edit some files before burning them, depending on the medium type. This is all new to me, but on another forum they refer to the same post and add this comment: "So depending on whether you choose "Remux to AVCHD (FAT32/PS3 compatability mode)" or Blu-Ray that headers will be corrected. Currently it's a 1/2 BD 1/2 AVCHD by tsMuxeR (see posting above with highlighting)". So if that's the only thing the burning software has to do, and the rest is just a regular UDF filesystem that udftools can create, then all the components are there, or am I misunderstanding things? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 356225] Panel moves to wrong screen when external monitor is connected
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356225 --- Comment #297 from Michael Butash --- I have tried most of these things at some point. Different distributions on a clean build pc this last build, even different video, and found that the experience has been consistent in the same ways, particularly worse with these samsung 4k displays. Those being mostly the window placements and compositing stability over time. First was Ubuntu, probably with old data imported. I think it was suggested then to try a clean profile, so I did with no suitable difference, then later arch. Originally I was using an old ATI 7980 to drive 6x 1080p displays, and not only back to 4.x kde did it have issues dealing with the displays, but only marginally got better with 5.x. It worked better when using the oss ati drivers once they stabilized circa 2016, but then I upgraded the video and displays. Moving to nvidia and the 3x 4k displays, I moved to arch to even try a different distro, clean everything, but same compositing weirdness as before, plus now it also jumbled everything everything I powered down the displays. The compositing seems to deteriorate quicker with the 3x4k res too. Quickest and laziest solution I find is to not power them off. This means they remain on with a "no signal" message moving around all night, and burn power like mad still. I find doing so angers kde, cinnamon, or whatever DE, but all in very different, interesting ways. So yes, various ways I've gone through and purged all my .local and related kde files, or entirely new profile/drives, and can try again next weekend. It's tough to throw my main rig into a live cd, as it usually takes some time of use, and a few cycles of the displays coming and going before kde gets really angry. If I can do so over a few days, I will try this too, but need a long weekend without work. I do appreciate the help, and will try these. I'd love to see KDE just work again for myself and everyone, as I miss it - no other DE is quite like it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Writing into internal storage works. Thinking the possibility that FUSE permissions are broken, on my desktop I tried to touch a file as root and it failed. [kwin] [Bug 389818] Warn that global shortcut does not include modifier
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389818 --- Comment #4 from ras...@gmail.com --- The reason I love KDE is because of the degree of customization it provides. I like being able to set any feature to any keyboard shortcut. I can't imagine why a feature would work with one shortcut but not with another. On top of that, I can't imagine why it wouldn't tell me if I picked a shortcut that won't work, even if it has to be an awkward message box. Anything would be better than nothing. I'm sure you don't appreciate me reopening the report. I'm sure you can imagine I don't appreciate that after finding unexpected and seemingly buggy behavior, going thru the trouble of checking for an existing report, and typing up a description of the problem, my report was marked as "invalid" with absolutely no attempt made to explain why you think it is. I don't mean to sound entitled. I'm not expecting a blog post. A one-sentence explanation would be fine. Maybe something like "Unfortunately, due to the way the system is designed, it would take an unreasonable amount of effort to fix the issue." Instead I got a denial that this is even a bug. I hope you put some thought into how you respond to bug reports, because frankly this doesn't cut it. This kind of attitude is exactly what drives potential contributors away from the community. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387784 --- Comment #4 from Henrik Fehlauer --- You certainly have not read the article in one minute ;) I think your definition is too broad. A missing button would be a usability issue. However, here we already have solved the usability design problem years ago and it was now only a task for the software engineers to fix a glitch. Usability engineering is about applying specific methods to diagnose problems and propose changes in design, not about Q&A. Anyway, that was a bit off-topic.
