[plasmashell] [Bug 387341] Memory leak in plasma shell with 5.10.5

2018-03-09 Thread Nick Coghlan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387341

Nick Coghlan changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |FIXED
   Version Fixed In||5.9.4

I just tried to reproduce the slideshow-specific misbehaviour that I was
seeing, and I agree that it has been fixed since I last reproduced the problem
back in January (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387341#c12)

$ rpm -qa plasma-desktop qt5-qtbase
plasma-desktop-5.11.5-1.fc27.x86_64
qt5-qtbase-5.9.4-4.fc27.x86_64

Now, even after changing my wallpaper back to switching 1440p images every
second, plasmashell memory usage remains pretty stable (around the 146M mark),
whereas the previous symptom was for it to shoot up by multiple megabytes per
second.

So closing again, and marking as "Fixed in 5.9.4".

(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838#c57 indicates that I *might* be
being overly optimistic here, and there may still be a race condition that puts
the basic render loop back into the "bad" state. Even if that's the case
though, I don't think keeping this issue open will offer any benefit given the
more detailed analysis in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838)

Fullscreen mode has been changed in the master branch, making it sync with
KWin's fullscreen, and pressing Escape exits fullscreen. The latter change I
think mitigates the problem with discoverability.

[k3b] [Bug 386105] K3b FFmpeg decode plugin seems to be broken, produces noise

2018-03-09 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386105

I found that every frame produced by fillOutputBuffer() contains (some patch
of) corrupted data just right after the middle.

Also citing the FFMPEG docs:

>Some decoders (those marked with AV_CODEC_CAP_DELAY) have a delay between
>input and output. This means that for some packets they will not immediately
>produce decoded output and need to be flushed at the end of decoding to get
>all the decoded data. Flushing is done by calling this function
>(avcodec_decode_audio4()) with packets with avpkt->data set to NULL and
>avpkt->size set to 0 until it stops returning samples. It is safe to flush
>even those decoders that are not marked with AV_CODEC_CAP_DELAY, then no
>samples will be returned.

Revision for this: https://phabricator.kde.org/D11202

As mentioned in revision, it might be a bad idea to change the default
behaviour. Other ideas are to make the default a config option, or have the
crop tool remember the last chosen ratio.

[kmymoney] [Bug 391650] New: I would like the ability to create a Spending by Category Pie Chart with percentages

2018-03-09 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 391650
Summary: I would like the ability to create a Spending by
Category Pie Chart with percentages
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 4.8.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: reports
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: vireos74...@mypacks.net
  Target Milestone: ---

For reference see think link:
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=69=151384=395815=86b2b4b5f319755070f52891217f01fb#p395815

I really miss the Spending by Category pie chart that was on the home page on
MS Money. I analyzed those percentages daily. Is there any way to replicate
that chart in KMyMoney? I have searched the web and tried and tried but I can't
figure it out.

Kicker shows unnecessary scrollbar

Greetings,

when I open Kicker, and search for a string which will yield no result (such as
"yyy"), Kicker shows a scrollbar, even though there is not even one result to
show.

I should mention that sometimes, when I type it in really fast, the scrollbar
does not show up.

Some additional information, which might be useful:
- in the settings, "align search results to bottom" is disabled.
- in the settings, "flatten menu to a single level" is enabled.
- in the settings, "show recent applications/documents/contacts" are disabled.

Screenshot is attached.

[plasmashell] [Bug 391642] New: Plasma shell crashes when changing to desktop view

2018-03-09 Thread Edward Kigwana
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391642

Bug ID: 391642
Summary: Plasma shell crashes when changing to desktop view
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Desktop Containment
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: edwardw...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

QT 5.10.1
Plasma 5.12.80 (master)

Plasma shell crashes when I right click to change desktop from folder view to
desktop view. I have a dual monitor setup and a possibly unrelated issue is
that when I click apply, the dialog on the right side jumps to the left monitor
then plasma crashes. On the left it jumps to the right then plasma shell
crashes. So there is some symmetry after a crash.

Unfortunately the downgrade didn't help for Opensuse tumbleweed, kmail 5.7.2,
qt 5.10.0.
KMail doesn't start anymore because of dependencies

Kate and KDevelop were already fixed upstream in Qt 5.12:

It's also possible that this bug also will be improved or fixed by that patch.

Currently only cartisianated historagamic graph is available, many hardware

2018-03-09 Thread Zakhar

Bug ID: 391638
Summary: Harddisk I/O monitorm, memory monitor and network
monitor widget update rates
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Gentoo Packages

  Target Milestone: 1.0

Currently those widgets update at a rate unchangeable to user, it would be
great to allow changing their update rates. Especially useful for network
monitoring since one might be monitoring for something that has a short time
window.

Using the output of heaptrack would be easiest by using AccumulatedTraceData
(Rather than trying to reparse the text output format). To do that, however,
more headers would need to be exposed.

It would be great if all the headers were installed to make this possible.

After 5.12 update the brightness of the screen cannot be adjusted from the

brightness indicator is shown and there are changes in the bar reflective of
the key combination pressed but no change in screen brightness.

I ran the command `journalctl -af` and this was the only output when changing

The font setting in konsole profiles is separate from the kde user-wide "Fixed
Width" font; what's happening here, IIUC, since no particular font face/size is
set in the Default profile konsole uses whatever font "Fixed width" is set to.

When the "Fixed Width" setting is changed, konsole picks up the change after
it's restarted, which is expected in this case.

Note that if you change the font face/size in the konsole profile you're using
then this setting isn't going to be affected by the "Fixed width" setting at
all.

I'd close this as wontfix; but I'll differ the decision to the konsole
developer(s).

So after a little testing, it appears that identities are indeed inherited.

Identity in settings dialog -> Identity of root folder -> Identity of other
folders (Inbox, Draft...)

This means that
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311143
would also be fixed already.

It all looks very intransparent however, for example, why are identities of the
account and the root folder not in sync and can be set to different things?

[kdeconnect] [Bug 390970] kdeconnect crashes when showing notification from a specific contact from whatsapp

2018-03-09 Thread Swipe
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390970

To confirm, this also happens under kernel 4.15.5-1-ARCH and is intermittent so
I don't think it is kernel related after all.

Right now, you have to configure keyboard shortcuts to switch between modes. I
think it is a good idea to have a menu to choose mode(statistical, simple or
science)

The file that reproduces the issue is available at
https://nofile.io/f/wx5M48ugyO9/10.1007_978-1-4302-6653-2.epub. I can't attach
it here because it's slightly too large for the 4MB file size limit.

[plasmashell] [Bug 391628] New: Icon missing when copying launcher of Flatpak applications to desktop

2018-03-09 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391628

Bug ID: 391628
Summary: Icon missing when copying launcher of Flatpak
applications to desktop
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.11.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: f.alexander.wi...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When dragging a launcher from the application launcher to the desktop, one is
given two choices: create a copy or create a link.

When choosing the "copy" option, a generic gray "executable" icon is used, when
choosing the "link" option, the correct icon is used.

yeah, what would make more sense is an "undo" button, since that's pretty much
the only actionable thing you would want to do with that file right after
trashing it.

[Spectacle] [Bug 374864] Using "Capture the current pop-up only" option causes Spectacle to disappear with compositing enabled

Hmh, I think that's very unlikely. The issue in the other bug is that closing
is delegated in a lambda to Plasma (!), and if Plasma fails to call back,
Spectacle stays open forever. He we have a problem in getting an image from
KWin, i.e. we are not even in the code path triggering the notification ("GUI
mode").

You're in luck; looks like someone submitted a patch for this:

I can't comment on the likelihood of its being accepted, of course.

4.12.0 is a really older version (more than 3 years ago).

Please test with current 5.9.0 pre release Linux universal AppImage Bundle
available here :
