[plasmashell] [Bug 387341] Memory leak in plasma shell with 5.10.5
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387341 Nick Coghlanchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED Version Fixed In||5.9.4 --- Comment #20 from Nick Coghlan --- I just tried to reproduce the slideshow-specific misbehaviour that I was seeing, and I agree that it has been fixed since I last reproduced the problem back in January (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387341#c12) $ rpm -qa plasma-desktop qt5-qtbase plasma-desktop-5.11.5-1.fc27.x86_64 qt5-qtbase-5.9.4-4.fc27.x86_64 Now, even after changing my wallpaper back to switching 1440p images every second, plasmashell memory usage remains pretty stable (around the 146M mark), whereas the previous symptom was for it to shoot up by multiple megabytes per second. So closing again, and marking as "Fixed in 5.9.4". (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838#c57 indicates that I *might* be being overly optimistic here, and there may still be a race condition that puts the basic render loop back into the "bad" state. Even if that's the case though, I don't think keeping this issue open will offer any benefit given the more detailed analysis in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386105 --- Comment #6 from bl...@vivaldi.net --- I found that every frame produced by fillOutputBuffer() contains (some patch of) corrupted data just right after the middle. Also citing the FFMPEG docs: >Some decoders (those marked with AV_CODEC_CAP_DELAY) have a delay between >input and output. This means that for some packets they will not immediately >produce decoded output and need to be flushed at the end of decoding to get >all the decoded data. Flushing is done by calling this function >(avcodec_decode_audio4()) with packets with avpkt->data set to NULL and >avpkt->size set to 0 until it stops returning samples. So there is some symmetry after a crash. * 1Thread 0x77f82800 (LWP 27909) "plasmashell" QJsonPrivate::Object::indexOf (this=0x559daa68, key=..., exists=exists@entry=0x7fffcf97) at json/qjson.cpp:184 2Thread 0x7fffe10f2700 (LWP 32332) "QXcbEventReader" 0x7129c3d5 in __GI___poll (fds=0x7fffe10f1ca8, nfds=1, timeout=) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 3Thread 0x7fffdb0f2700 (LWP 1624) "QDBusConnection" 0x7129c3d5 in __GI___poll (fds=0x7fffd4004db0, nfds=3, timeout=) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 4Thread 0x7fffd96ad700 (LWP 1748) "QQmlThread" 0x7129c3d5 in __GI___poll (fds=0x7fffcc004a00, nfds=1, timeout=) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 5Thread 0x7fffd219f700 (LWP 2126) "disk_cache:0" 0x70b507cd in futex_wait_cancelable (private=, expected=0, futex_word=0x55ab4058) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/futex-internal.h:88 6Thread 0x7fff4262e700 (LWP 3364) "QQuickPixmapRea" 0x7129c3d5 in __GI___poll (fds=0x7fff3c0057b0, nfds=1, timeout=) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 7Thread 0x7fff2f458700 (LWP 4001) "KCupsConnection" 0x7129c3d5 in __GI___poll (fds=0x7fff28006450, nfds=1, timeout=) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 10 Thread 0x7fff19b46700 (LWP 17113) "QQmlThread" 0x7129c3d5 in __GI___poll (fds=0x7fff0c03c700, nfds=1, timeout=) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 #0 QJsonPrivate::Object::indexOf (this=0x559daa68, key=..., exists=exists@entry=0x7fffcf97) at json/qjson.cpp:184 #1 0x71bc3de3 in QJsonObject::value (this=this@entry=0x7fffd140, key=...) at json/qjsonobject.cpp:393 #2 0x73d114da in KPluginMetaData::readStringList (obj=..., key=...) at /var/tmp/portage/kde-frameworks/kcoreaddons-/work/kcoreaddons-/src/lib/plugin/kpluginmetadata.cpp:175 #3 0x77995975 in PlasmaQuick::AppletQuickItemPrivate::preloadWeight (this=0x559d4d70) at /var/tmp/portage/kde-frameworks/plasma-/work/plasma-/src/plasmaquick/appletquickitem.cpp:94 #4 0x77995e92 in PlasmaQuick::AppletQuickItem::~AppletQuickItem (this=0x559d5560, __in_chrg=) at /var/tmp/portage/kde-frameworks/plasma-/work/plasma-/src/plasmaquick/appletquickitem.cpp:509 #5 0x7fffd3bda1eb in ContainmentInterface::~ContainmentInterface (this=0x559d5560, __in_chrg=) at /var/tmp/portage/kde-frameworks/plasma-/work/plasma-/src/scriptengines/qml/plasmoid/containmentinterface.h:51 #6 ContainmentInterface::~ContainmentInterface (this=0x559d5560, __in_chrg=) at /var/tmp/portage/kde-frameworks/plasma-/work/plasma-/src/scriptengines/qml/plasmoid/containmentinterface.h:51 #7 0x71c1f4b0 in QObjectPrivate::deleteChildren (this=0x559bd650) at kernel/qobject.cpp:1993 #8 0x71c2046e in QObject::~QObject (this=, __in_chrg=) at kernel/qobject.cpp:1023 #9 0x75fb0e19 in Plasma::Containment::~Containment (this=0x559ce160, __in_chrg=) at /var/tmp/portage/kde-frameworks/plasma-/work/plasma-/src/plasma/containment.cpp:95 #10 0x71c196d8 in QObject::event (this=0x559ce160, e=) at kernel/qobject.cpp:1238 #11 0x72baa8dc in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper (this=this@entry=0x55811f50, receiver=receiver@entry=0x559ce160, e=e@entry=0x5a325d00) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:3732 #12 0x72bb2076 in QApplication::notify (this=0x7fffd970, receiver=0x559ce160, e=0x5a325d00) at kernel/qapplication.cpp:3491 #13 0x71be9a37 in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2 (receiver=0x559ce160, event=event@entry=0x5a325d00) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:1050 #14 0x71bed606 in QCoreApplication::sendEvent (event=0x5a325d00, receiver=) at kernel/qcoreapplication.h:234 #15 QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendPostedEvents (receiver=receiver@entry=0x0, event_type=event_type@entry=0, data=0x558078e0) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:1740 #16 0x71bedb68 in QCoreApplication::sendPostedEvents (receiver=receiver@entry=0x0, event_type=event_type@entry=0) at kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:1594 #17

[konsole] [Bug 335933] [frameworks] Konsole does not update fonts when changed in System Settings
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335933 Ahmad Samirchanged: What|Removed |Added Version|2.99.900|master CC||a.samir...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Ahmad Samir --- The font setting in konsole profiles is separate from the kde user-wide "Fixed Width" font; what's happening here, IIUC, since no particular font face/size is set in the Default profile konsole uses whatever font "Fixed width" is set to. When the "Fixed Width" setting is changed, konsole picks up the change after it's restarted, which is expected in this case. Note that if you change the font face/size in the konsole profile you're using then this setting isn't going to be affected by the "Fixed width" setting at all. I'd close this as wontfix; but I'll differ the decision to the konsole developer(s). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391619 --- Comment #2 from k...@trummer.xyz --- So after a little testing, it appears that identities are indeed inherited.
