I also am experiencing this issue on archlinux with krita 4.0.2-1 and qt5-base
5.10.1-8.

The tool appears to work just fine however the crash occurs using the tool
after the app has been open for a while.

Possibly related/unrelated the app crashes using the move tool after the app is
open for a while.

These are on 3.x and possible 2.x krita files.

So, [IntelliJ](https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/) and other JetBrains IDEs have
this feature where you can sort of search through all of the various functions
that the software itself has to offer, and it's really nice when you know what
you want but don't remember which of the 15 dropdown menus it happens to live
in. I think it would be really cool if krita had something similar.

Thanks!

I'd really like it if, on importing an image as a file layer (specifically
during click-and-drag, but maybe elsewhere if applicable) that the new layer
were named after the image. For example, if I'm adding an image named
"crab.png" to a larger image of sea creatures, I'd like the layer to be named
crab. It's just a little quality of life thing :)

Created attachment 112623
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=112623&action=edit
green color is white

Actual Version: 18.04.1

I am not sure if this a user interface thing, a problem with the desktop
environment that I am using (gnome) or something else. But it started happening
within the last few days.

I create a new project.

I add a color clip, change it to another color (let us say: green).

The color clip appears in the project bin with a white preview.

I drag the clip to the video timeline and play through it, the project monitor
stays white.

I click on the clip monitor tab and hit play, the monitor window becomes green
(as in, it is white, first, then flips to green).

So something is happening with color and kdenlive.

Problem (which would be a new ticket, but I hope solving this issue will fix
the one that I am about to describe, but might still be related): When I play a
movie in the 'clip monitor' window, the background color is black. When I put
it in to the video timeline and play in the 'project monitor' tab, the
background is white. I am not above saying that it could be a user issue, but
it is odd that a color clip is not showing in the 'project monitor'.

Workstation (laptop) with mesa (nvidia disabled):
On the system with mesa i did run
export KWIN_TRIPLE_BUFFER=1; kstart kwin_x11 --replace
and as for now no artefacts

I didn't reset theme/compositor on MESA (laptop) as it's my workstation that I
could not affort to get a downtime for last few weeks, next week i will upgrade
also my laptop and will try there too, but until new plasma doesn't have a fix
i assume it will be exactly the same

Workstation with nvidia only:

i did also use tripple for short period, no errors noticed, today upgraded
nvidia station to plasmashell 5.12.5 and running without tripple buffering,
time will tell

I saw the simple way to leave a PC working with Audacious (with "winamp" skin)
for a few days, audacious continuously scroll the track name from left to right
forcing refresh/render that triggers the bug, other app show the same problem
but at longer time (as they refresh less frequently)

Also maybe it happens when i have workstation locked, hard to tell.

-
AKA: tripple bufforing somehow helps
MESA: not done anything
NVIDIA: no change on theme/compositor reset

So, I originally made a bunch of layers in one big image, and then I started to
try and move them to file layers for sanity/reuse, but now they don't show up
properly in the main image, it's pretty weird.

For the future: no need to report crashes if you don't have the backtrace. If

at all (you can assume that a functionality like alt+tab normally works, so we

video of (1.), slow animation

This is not a glitch but a ui design issue.

I'm talking about the taskbar that shows icons alongside window titles. See
attached video.

When switching between windows of an application that has multiple windows,
which are grouped together, two types of windows can show up.

1. When you click on the application tab, a window appears that lists all
windows. An animation shows a window sliding upwards.

2. When you hover the application tab, after a timeout an animation displays.
The animation shows a fade in effect of the info window. (The timeout is only
applied the first time the mouse enters the taskbar, so in principle it's
possible to instantly show the info.)

The animation in (1.) slows down the workflow in KDE plasma, because you have
to wait for it to finish before you can switch between windows.
The timeout and animation in (2.) slows down the workflow, because you have to
wait for both to finish before you can read the info.

When you attempt reading the text of the window that is sliding upwards (1.)
whilst it's moving, you can't actually read it.

I can't find an option to disable the animations or speed them up. The timeout
(2.) can't be removed.

Disabling the window grouping is the only way to instantly switch to a window.
I would prefer to use the grouping, though.

Good, apparently there was indeed a small regression in digiKam.

I've attached what I get (yes, that's on a Mac, with the menubar set to be in
the window, and using my personal QtCurve theme).

Notice how the 2nd, "business" entry has the name of the volume, and how the
English text is a little bit more appropriate than the German translation -
though in fact the card reader is neither "at" nor "under" the mountpoint of
the volume on the card in the reader. Something like `"VolumeName" in "SD / MMC
Card Reader"` would be more appropriate IMHO.

I also notice that digiKam doesn't detect neither card insertion nor removal.

I installed it and it works. Can see under card reader 2x the SD card. (See
screenshot)

The only thing is when you click on the first entry it say: Camera not
connected (red bar on the bottom)
If you click on the second entry (s. screenshot) you are able to import the
pictures.

Installed it unter OSX 10.13

yes, PKG has a backward compatibility with MacOS 10.8. Macports and XCode are
set in this way.

If you want to see how i build the PKG, please take a look here :

Will that installer run on 10.9?

FWIW, Macs have always been extremely easy to boot off an external disk holding
a clone of an older OS - with OS X you can use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a
bootable clone. And that doesn't have to be on the same computer; you might
even be able to clone your 10.10 VM onto an external drive and use that to boot
an actual Mac.

As I showed in my previous post, it looks something is different in metadata.
I installed wget command from MacPort, but if you do not have it yet , try this
commands to remove metadata. (As all commands are in /bin or /usr/bin that
means there is no need to install something. There should be a better way, but
I don't know other ways...)

$ mkdir temp
$ mv ~/Download/krita-4.0.3.dmg temp/krita-4.0.3-broken.dmg
$ cd temp
$ COPYFILE_DISABLE=1 tar cvf temp.tar krita-4.0.3-broken.dmg
krita-4.0.3-broken.dmg
$ mkdir tmp
$ tar xvfC temp.tar tmp
$ mv tmp/krita-4.0.3-broken.dmg krita-4.0.3.dmg
x krita-4.0.3-broken.dmg
$ rm temp.tar
$ rmdir tmp

Then, I hope you can use temp/krita-4.0.3.dmg

[kio] [Bug 380056] kio info component creates large amount of empty rekonq tabs

2018-05-13 Thread Lars Fischer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380056

--- Comment #1 from Lars Fischer  ---
After a fresh install of Kubuntu 18.04 (formatting / and keeping /home with the
whole user config of KDE) it works.

First I noticed that man:gawk and info:gawk are opened in firefox. When firefox
is invoked by info:gawk from krunner, it opens an URL like
"file:///home/username/.cache/kioexec/krun/21448_0/gawk" . That works fine, but
clicking on a section like Foreword3, firefox tries to open the url
"info:/gawk/Foreword3" (notice that there is no kioexec/krun/21448_0 part).

After installing konqueror, krunner opens "info:gawk" in konqueror and browsing
works as expected in konqueror.

I would consider this as Fixed.

hijacks touch events after timeout
   Product: frameworks-kirigami
   Version: 5.46.0
  Platform: Other
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: mfbernar...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: Not decided

Calling showPassiveNotification with an actionText and callBack ends up
hijacking the bottom area of the screen.

Even with the actionButton invisible it still receives and handles all touch
events.

According to MouseArea documentation it does not propagate the enabled property
to children, so by binding background enabled to root's it works as expected,
although might not be the best approach.

[kaffeine] [Bug 376844] Freeze at channel switching with GPU/VDPAU

2018-05-13 Thread romeoK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376844

--- Comment #13 from romeoK  ---
I had several other continous errors and freezes when switching channels, like
below:

core input error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late (pts_delay
increased to 300 ms)
core input error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called

and also

Stream seems to be too havy[sic] to be displayed.

I could completely get rid of all these errors by setting the following
parameter:

--file-caching 1000 (tested with lower values too, but gave above errors
again).

I'm not sure why file-caching and not live-caching has to be altered, but it
works.
Hopefully this helps someone, and maybe the vlc buffer could be raised by
default?

Also, digiKam 5.9.0 shows my SD card just fine (I only have one with a GUID

import menu; one for the card reader device and one for the volume mounted from
the inserted card. I presume that's because of the different way IOKit presents
drives, disks and volumes, and evidently there's nothing to import from the
former.

invisible layer ->isolate layer

some layers playback or flipping through frames will work fine and as expected

but sometimes playback is blank,and flipping is stuck on a single frame.

13:30:17 - Bollebib_Laptop: there seems to be an issue where if you isolate
layer,on invisible layer, this works fine for a single frame

[digikam] [Bug 383588] Imported video files have time shifted exactly 2 hours later

2018-05-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383588

--- Comment #5 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com ---
If you use 5.x, the video metadata handling was the hell through Exiv2.

With 6.0.0, ffmpeg is now used in background and this must fix the problem.

But for performance reason, in camera interface, the metadata are not read by
default to catch the video date. There is an option to enable in Setup/camera
for that. When this open is disable, the file system date is used.

You can try the last 6.0.0 pre-release as AppImage bundle available here :
