Hi Tyson Tan,

what is the code of the language you are using?

How did you install the KDE Frameworks libraries? Did you build them on your
own, or are you using them as available in a Linux distribution (which one)?

Composite and transform transition causes white background

Dear developers,

in Kdenlive 18.04 the "Composite and transform" transition previews and renders
with white background instead of black. This anomaly also affects the picture
Fade effects which now fade to/from white instead of fade to black. If
"Composite and transform" is removed from the clips, the Fade effects fade
to/from black as it was the case in previous versions.

This bug was not present in Kdenlive 16.12.2 (mlt 6.4.1) which I used on
Debian. Now I use 18.04.2 on Manjaro. Projects I create with 18.04.2 can be
properly previewed and rendered on 16.12.2

I attach a screenshot for better clarification. The white area in the preview
was always black in previous versions.

Mlt 6.8.0-2
frei0r plugins 1.6.1-5
KDE Frameworks 5.46.0
Qt 5.11.0 (built against 5.10.1)

Best Regards,
Andrej Mernik

[krusader] [Bug 394938] Can't run .desktop files

2018-06-13 Thread Nikita Melnichenko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394938

--- Comment #6 from Nikita Melnichenko  ---
(In reply to amilino from comment #5)
> Why do we have .desktop files, they
> should be shortcuts to execute something right?

They are shortcuts for a menu or a desktop [1]:

 In GNOME and other freedesktop.org-compliant desktops, an application gets
registered into the desktop's menus through a desktop entry, which is a text
file with .desktop extension. This desktop file contains a listing of the
configurations for your application. The desktop takes the information in this
file and uses it to:

put the application in the Main Menu. To find a list of valid categories,
take a look into FreeDesktop.org's Desktop Menu Specification.
list the application in the Run Application... dialog
create appropriate launchers in the menu or on the desktop.
associate the name and description of the application.
use the appropriate icon.
recognize the MIME types it supports for opening files.

> What is the use case to open
> .desktop file in some default text editor like Kate. Who needs that. :)
We do this for any text file. Consistency. You can modify association with this
mime type and associate a program to run a desktop file. Don't ask me, I don't
know such an app. :)

> If you have "Exec" in desktop file then it should be executed or should I
> open it in Kate and copy/paste command in Terminal. :)
Simply use a one-line shell script instead of a desktop file.

Since it is implemented in Dolphin, then someone else has cared about at some
point in time and it becomes a signal that Krusader may need this as well.
However, the current way Dolphin does it (by modifying contents and
permissions) is a really bad practice. If you suggest to implement it
differently, then we'll consider, but I think it should be governed by an
external app and you simply set an appropriate association.

[krita] [Bug 395338] New: Missing some button strings in krita.pot, some translated strings not reflected

2018-06-13 Thread Tyson Tan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395338

Bug ID: 395338
   Summary: Missing some button strings in krita.pot, some
translated strings not reflected
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.0.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Translation
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tyson...@mail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

In many Krita dialogues, some basic buttons are not translatable.
In particular:
[Create] [OK] [Cancel] [Restore Default]

Especially that "&Create" in Create new document dialogue sticks like a sore
thumb because it's literally the FIRST button people would ever press in Krita.

There are some translated strings that I did not being reflected Krita 4.0.4.
I'm not sure if it is because of 1) KDE not pulling KDE China's built in time;
2) It will work in 4.1.0, but obsolete in 4.0.4.

I will attach all screenshots I can find about the missing translations below.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

The version is actually 18.04.2 according the "About kdenlive."

Adding a slideshow clip using the file name pattern does not play all the
images found.

Add a slideshow clip to a project.
Change from MEME to Filename Pattern for selection.
The first file fills in and several images files with the same name pattern
fill in the file box. In my case, 6 files.

It is added to the clips.

Select the clip and play back in the clip monitor.

Only the first file plays back.

I was using jpg files.

I think a good feature for when the DeviceNotifier fails to unmount a drive
because it is in use, should list the processeses that are using the drive,
(and perhaps resolve the process names with an application icon like ksysguard
can.)

Right now, users have to guess, or use fuser.

It is my understanding that it uses the udisks backend? I don't know if udisks
has this functionality though...

start wayland session
open system settings, open user manager, select your user account,
check "automatic login", click "ok" and type your password to apply the
setting.

restart your computer, wayland session is started automatically but plasma uses
25% of the screen as you can see in my picture. Furthermore plasma is running
under X11 instead Wayland. Open konsole, type "xwininfo" and move cursor on
wallpaper. Cursor changes to "+" indicaiting X11 session.

[kmymoney] [Bug 395327] Split entry reports

--- Comment #6 from Ralf Habacker  ---
Created attachment 113262

kmymoney test file (update)

Thanks for this pointer - the updated test file now contains all required
transactions.

The transaction by category report generated with this file and disabled
trailer and subs category only shows the transaction split for
auto:maintenance, which looks like what is expected.

In contrast, the monthly report with disabled trailer:maintenance category and
sub categories contains all tranactions splits, which means that the category
filter is ignored if a transaction contains a split. Compared to the first
report this behavior looks inconsequent and therefore seems to be a bug.

Actually no, the idea was never had it rendered in the mainview, just in the

actual inline notes is kind of hard.

Moving this to wishlist since it wasn't what we envisioned when we implemented
it.

Hi

I work on a ribbon/tabbed bar ui for libreoffice. Pro: you can show all
functions for a specific workflow in one tab. Con: everything else is hidden in
another tab and you have to click where this actions are.

In the end eg. MS outlook is confuse and ms paint don't have items in each tab
cause there are not that much functions.

Caligra office has tabbs and a sidebar. In general the ui should depend on the
app and not on a desktop environmental hig.

Kate has enough functions for a ribbon ui, but kate has only a menubar by
default, cause power users use shortcuts and default users write text and if
you need a specific action search in the menubar is faster than in tabbs cause
read a vertical list is faster than on an icon label tab.

--- Comment #2 from ralph.godd...@outlook.com  ---
I used actual data as there isn’t any personal info being shared.

>From another Bug report dialog, I understand this is the way the program is
designed and not a bug. I find it very confusing as I only had AUTO&SUBS
selected for the report. Not being an accountant, I thought there was a filter
problem with the REPORT by MONTH.

As you can see, there is a $245 difference between the two reports which is the
TRAILER category amount.

If you tell me this is normal report behavior, then cancel my bug report and
I’ll remember not to rely on MONTH reports where splits are concerned.

Report by month – only AUTO& SUBS categories selected

Wacom Intuos Pro Medium tablet wacom_devicelist requires modification for
Plasma desktop control via kcm-wacomtablet.

Optional packages from the AUR: wacom-utility-git -- Graphical tablet
configuration utility input-wacom-dkms -- Latest Kernel modules form Wacom
tablets (DKMS). Useful if your wacom tablet is not supported upstream yet (not
sure how useful in this instance).

Verify you tablet is identified:

lsusb

 056a:0357 Wacom Co., Ltd PTH-660 [Intuos Pro (M)]

Edit /usr/share/wacomtablet/data/wacom_devicelist and search for that ID (or
660). This ID is not located in the file.

Copy the previous model of the Medium tablet in the wacom_devicelist to the end
of wacom_devicelist file, edit device ID and device name to match the name
similar to the code below:

sudo vi /usr/share/wacomtablet/data/wacom_devicelist

##
[0357]
 model=PTH-660
 layout=bl_4
 name=Wacom Intuos Pro M
 padbuttons=9
 wheel=no
 touchring=yes
 touchstripl=no
 touchstripr=no
 hwbutton1=1
 hwbutton2=2
 hwbutton3=3
 hwbutton4=8
 hwbutton5=9
 hwbutton6=10
 hwbutton7=11
 hwbutton8=12
 hwbutton9=13

Disconnect tablet and reconnect to verify it is identified.
Open the Graphic Tablet from Plasma menu or Settings and the tablet now appears
as expected and can be configured properly.

Git commit 8c5e258640e8c70889ba1b3f796d3143240a7cda by Heinz Wiesinger.
Committed on 13/06/2018 at 19:10.
Pushed by wiesinger into branch 'master'.

Fix using reserved type names in identifiers.

Summary:
Remove special tokens for base type names (PHP itself doesn't
have them either in their AST). Unfortunately, keeping them,
while cleaner, is also a lot more complicated and would leave
us with double the amount of FIRST/FIRST conflicts in the grammar.
(Mostly when NamespacedIdentifiers would conflict with base types
in typehints. Think 'String\Stringhandler $foo' vs 'string $bar'.

Removing the tokens essentially immediately resolves the bug,
with the remaining work just being error handling and a bit of
cleanup.

Fix QuickOpen with Qt 5.11

It remains to be investigated whether this is a regression in Qt
itself, or misuse of the API on our side. There is at least one
misuse (the call to mapFromSource) which is wrong in the old version,
so this patch improves the situation in either case.

Hi Ralph,

thanks for this bug report. I took a look at the mentioned bugs and found:
> Same as BUG reports 212097,  330944
these bugs were caused by user configuration and are not a kmymoney app issue
>and 382245
4.8.2 is not affected by this bug

If your issue is still present, please provide more information to be able to
reproduce this issue either by appending a simple kmymoney test file showing
the issue (please create a related report and mark it as favorite) or by
reporting the detailed steps starting from a newly created file.
