[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 358124] Network applet stops updating
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358124 Bzzz changed: What|Removed |Added CC||misc-kde...@wanhunglo.com --- Comment #3 from Bzzz --- Let's bring this back up and connect it to some older wishlist item... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291546 "Network monitor should (optionally) show only connected devices" was closed recently as it was filed for KDE4. This is still an, well, issue with KDE5, and I think it is connected to this bug. Due to my special snowflake WiFi card that needs attention after every sleep->wakeup cycle, the Network Monitor applet thingy hangs a lot. I need to click right on the applet, Configure Network Monitor, select the interface again (this is also bugged as sometimes it does not show up at first, then gets refreshed upon hitting Apply, and then works as expected), and then the monitor resets and does its thing. If we could do a periodic check which interface is available and up, there could be an automatic start/stop of newly active/inactive interfaces. This would also resolve this bug, which to me, sounds closely related. I'm using traditional horizontal panel layout, so I doubt this is a problem that is caused by the rotation of the entire panel. kf5-config --version Qt: 5.9.5 KDE Frameworks: 5.47.0 kf5-config: 1.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 394529] Configure Mouse buttons (Global Shortcuts should accept accept mouse clicks to trigger actions/keypresses/scripts)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394529 --- Comment #15 from sac --- >Why are you reopening this ticket? How would a global shortcut help an >application that expects mouse events >This will not be fixed in KWin, according to its developers. I think you're not getting the idea here. Forget about mouse events (no mouse events in this bug report). The suggestion of the developers was to adjust global shortcuts. Currently Global Shortcuts shows the following tooltip: "Click on the button, then enter the shortcut like you would in the program. Example for CTRL+A: hold the CTRL key and press A." Instead the tooltip should say: "Click on the button, then enter the shortcut like you would in the program on your keyboard or mouse. Example for CTRL+A: hold the CTRL key and press A. Example for righ mouse button: press the right mouse button. " In addition, the option to assign a shortcut to several actions would be great. (yes, I know, just changing a tooltip is only 5% of the work, but maybe this explains it better. BTW: there are keyboards with a button for a mouse context menu. So even a mouse context menu can be triggered, if there's an action for this KEYBOARD BUTTON. Again: no mouse events here, but I'm able to customize my mouse and am even able to call batch sripts or programs [that might trigger mouse events, ugh forget that]) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I've come here from the reddit discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/8v4g5y/extremely_high_ram_usage_by_okular/ 4 page document(90KB in size, e-mail with few small images like logos and icons) using about 28MB RAM when opened. Repeatedly scrolling up and down this document increases memory usage, I stopped at 60MB, it's not freeing or re-using existing memory, that doesn't seem like it's caching content properly. I imagine one could continue this process until all RAM is used or something triggers a cleanup. I'm not seeing any noticeable or major memory increase while the document is idle/inactive, nor CPU usage. When scrolling rapidly (drag scrollbar top to bottom) CPU usage was initially displaying 9% up to 14% when I reached 60MB, this value was consistent at increasing steadily with the RAM. This is probably single-threaded and would cap at 25% requiring more time to process what should be linear time. Additional memory should not be allocated like this, there would be a limit if it were caching properly and utilizing that, the CPU activity is likely associated with the memory leak. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[wacomtablet] [Bug 396012] New: Relative mode inaccurate pen/cursor travel distance
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396012 Bug ID: 396012 Summary: Relative mode inaccurate pen/cursor travel distance Product: wacomtablet Version: 3.0.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jazzv...@gmail.com Reporter: mayazcherq...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I really have no idea how to word this, but here goes. I am using a Wacom Intuos Art Medium tablet, along with two monitors. I like to use relative mode, so the cursor doesn't jump all over the place across one or two monitors. However, when using relative mode, the "bounds" of the tablet still seem to be derived from the screen(s). So the travel distance of the pen is still significantly larger than what it should be to allow for the user to move from one side of the tablet area to the other and in so doing will cause the cursor to traverse across one or both screens. What I would ideally want, is for one centimetre of travel on the tablet, to also reflect one centimetre of travel on the screen, regardless of the size of the screen. This would allow for significantly more accurate drawing, without e.g. moving one centimetre along the horizontal causing the cursor to move quite a significant fraction (due to there being dual monitors) whereas moving along the vertical is much slower. Sorry if that sounds confusing. TL;DR: Moving the pen one centimetre in either the horizontal, vertical, or a combination of both directions, moves the cursor on the screen by that same amount. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kxkb] [Bug 396013] New: Keyboard layout limit of 8 is too low
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396013 Bug ID: 396013 Summary: Keyboard layout limit of 8 is too low Product: kxkb Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: samj...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Hello. Currently using Kubuntu Bionic with KDE Frameworks 5.44, Plasma 5.12 LTS and KDE Applications 17.12.3. Even since Kubuntu Trusty using KDE 4.13.x, the number of maximum keyboard layouts in the KDE keyboard layout settings has been 8 and trying to add a new layout after that produces the error: "Only up to 8 keyboard layouts are supported". Frankly I don't see the reason for this artificial limitation. I myself know seven Indian scripts: Tamil, Devanagari, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Grantha and Brahmi and do need to input all of them at one time or another. I also have a separate layout for the emoji I use. Which leaves me no space for even QWERTY, let alone my preferred alternate Latin layout Workman. I do not see the need for an upper limit on the number of layouts. Is there any technical reason why there needs to be such a limit? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-kxmlgui] [Bug 395988] KMainWindow saves invalid window/widget state under Qt 5.11.1
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395988 --- Comment #6 from Max --- The patch here https://phabricator.kde.org/D13808 Have tried reproducing this issue using just Qt and their recommendation of saving window state in closeEvent(), and it works fine like that.
