[krita] [Bug 379228] Bugs while using drawpad to draw. Here's my drawpad: Genius mousepen m508w

Sorry for the late reply, I agree with the fact that the genius drivers
aren't the best suited for what I want to do. I got a new drawpad and
everything is working fine now. Thank you for replying.

I had that problem with my intuos 2 pen after it fell to the ground tip first
:c.

The brush you attached works correctly on my genius tablet, There is no bubble
from "a little bigger step than the others". however I did play a little with
the settings and It might help to reduce the spikes to 2 (this makes no
difference in appearance in circular brushes) and also remove the "softness"
checkbox from the dynamics properties and achieve the softness from the curve
alone. Using softness dynamics on the soft engine produces a double halo on
some curves (Visible if you uncheck size and paint gently). the halo could
produce the effect you are seeing, but testing with the setup I have I could
not get any bubble.

you can try to see if the problem is the pen tablet information krita is
reading by toggling on the tablet logging "Ctrl + Shift + T". Analize the
output using this python tool @yoyobuae made(get it from here
https://twitter.com/yoyobuae/status/1013094034313801728 and running the tool as
instructed in the tweet). the curves will not be super smooth but the curve
should not have abrupt bumps. (I know you said it was not any hardware issue,
or driver. but it might have to do with processing speeds, only way to know is
to peek at what krita is seeing)

[kmymoney] [Bug 396147] New: KMM crash while importing downloaded bank .ofx file

  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: importer

  Reporter: wgkin...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I just upgraded from KMM 4.8 on Mint 18.2 KDE to KMM 5.0.1-2 on kubuntu 18.04.
When I go to my bank and download transactions as .ofx file, I get a browser
popup offering to open file with KMM (which is already running). If I accept
the browser option KMM picks the correct account , then analyzes txns as
duplicate, new, etc. When I click KMM crashes without importing any
transactions.

If I download the .ofx file, then chose "File->Import-> " from within
KMM, it works fine.

KMM is not logging into the bank. I do that on my own outside of KMM. I poked
around for an error log but did not find anything.

It took me a while to get it to show up on recording... there is no sure-shot
way of reproducing this. You can see that I was very aggressive with scrolling

lock-up and the process not dying are also shown in the video.

I am using a Dell XPS 15 9550 and many times KDE doesn't remember my touchpad
settings when I wake up the device from suspend mode. In particular, KDE
automatically switches off "Reverse Scrolling" ("Vertical"). When I go to
System Settings > Touchpad Settings the following message appears: "Active
settings don't match saved settings. You currently see saved settings." So then
I have to change settings and click "Apply" and then change again and reapply
to switch on reverse scrolling. Looking on the internet I found that others
have had the same issue
https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/5s056t/most_of_the_touchpad_settings_are_disabled/

I am using libinput version 1.9.4 on KDE NEON

Please could you explain what you were doing when the tools stopped working? A

How to reproduce

After some attempts of
1. clicking "Smart Patch tool"
2. Change brush with popUpPalette
3. use patch tool.

The assert is triggered. this provoques the tool to be in the active mode, so
even if its selected the tool will appear to be broken.

I could only trigger the assert with the "Smart Patch tool"

The variable wasn't set. So QPixmap didn't delegate to QX11PlatformPixmap, but
to QRasterPlatformPixmap.

> I can't find memory chunks large enough to hold contiguous range
> of memory for page bitmaps

Now I know why heap didn't contain expected chunks. The inner objects of
PagePrivate::PixmapObject::m_pixmap were NOT in heap, but on stack.

@Albert: As I understand, the Page QPixmap is meant to live long. Is this
correct? If yes, we have a bug here, because stack memory of course doesn't
live long.

That's what I did, maybe someone can repeat it for confirmation.

I've tried to manually compile kauth branches on Fedora 28 (VirtualBox with no
devices). Didn't crash even when I switched to dummybackend. But so far I don't
see anything wrong with those packages either.

P.S. I only compiled with -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr

I'll try with your RPMs and some devices later...

2018-07-03 Thread Tymond
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396144

Bug ID: 396144
Summary: [Wish/Bug] Picking colors from Reference Image (Color
Picker tool doesn't work; enable option to pick by
just clicking)
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.0
  Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tamtamy.tym...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

If you select the color picker from the toolbar, it doesn't pick colors from
Reference Image the way that quick color picker (ctrl + click) does. Also it
would be nice to have an option to pick colors from Reference Image without
holding ctrl (but as an option).

Reproducible: Always.

Steps to reproduce:

A. Color Picker Tool:

1. Open new document, color it to two colors (X and Y), add a reference photo.
1. Choose Color Picker Tool.
2. Click on Reference Image (repeatedly, on top of both colors).

Actual results:
3a. When on color X, color picker prints out (in Tool Options docker) that
specific color and updates current color to it. When on the other color (Y), it
prints out different values and updates current color to it. When on various
parts on Reference Image, it prints out different values (different than X and
Y and usually picked colors differs from themselves), but the current color
remains not updated.

Expected results:
3b. Current color is updated to the new value picked from Reference Image.

B. Picking by just clicking (the way it worked in Reference Docker):

1. Open new document, add a reference photo.
2. Click on reference photo.

Actual results:
3a. Painting behind the Reference Image.

Expected results:
3b. Option to pick colors from Ref. Image with just clicking; when
selected/checked, after clicking it should update the current color to the
color picked from the Reference Image.

A -

A is very much needed, B is (for me) a nice addition, but should be optional
because this functionality might be confusing.

Implementation-wise this is easier. I think that in practice it's not very nice
because you never know how many full progress bars you'll end up getting, but
it's easily doable.

Please attach one of the documents you're using to reproduce this.

Also it would be great if you could do this, while you have caused okular to be
looping at 100% CPU open a terminal and type

gdb attach `pidof okular`

if it complains it can't you will need to run that as root (i.e use sudo or su
to become root)

Once you're inside the gdb command line do type
bt
continue
press Ctrl+C
bt
continue
press Ctrl+C
 do this a few times

And paste here the output of the bt commands, this may help finding out where
it is hanging.

[KEXI] [Bug 396139] Welcome screen hangs KEXI

2018-07-03 Thread Jarosław Staniek
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396139

There can be various reasons for the plugin hangs. In my case it was using ASAN
(address sanitizer) for a test version of KEXI. In this case building KEXI
without ASAN helps.

Second workaround: run KEXI with project filename (or .kexis connection file)
as an argument so the Welcome screen is not displayed.

Third workaround: remove PREFIX/share/kexi/3.2/status/status.ui file before
running KEXI.. If KEXI was compiled by you, also remove the
src/main/status/status.ui file from the source code before running KEXI. In
this workaround KEXI won't find the file so it will not hang before trying to
load it.

This is a bit of a weird case, but some websites do lie about file type, and it
might make someone lose their progress unless they'll guess to clear
references, so I've decided to report it anyway.

Steps to reproduce:
* Give a png image .jpeg extension (or vice versa)
* Add it via reference tool

What happens:
* No error message, but image isn't actually added on the canvas either
* Can no longer save the file, unless "Delete all reference images" button is
clicked and the ghost reference is deleted

When trying to save (manually or with autosave), I get an error:

  Could not save /home/jazz/test.kra

Thanks for the idea; I'd like this too, and I think it's a valid request.

Let's move it to plasmashell since it would probably affect more than just

would be elsewhere.

[Discover] [Bug 396140] New: Proposed UX improvements for update behavior

2018-07-03 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396140

Bug ID: 396140
Summary: Proposed UX improvements for update behavior
   Product: Discover
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Updater
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

For packaging formats that have separate download/install phases, the typical
process of updating results in entries on the Updates page exhibiting the
following behavior:

- First the progress bars for every item fill up halfway
- Then once all of them have filled up halfway, they all start to complete one
at a time

This results in a somewhat uncertain experience for a user, because most
progress bars don't behave this way, and it may be unclear what's going on. The
user may be left thinking, "What's happening here? It is stuck? Should I close
the app and start over?"

I'd like to propose a more user-friendly behavior:

- Once the update process begins, each item's progress bar displays the word
"Downloading" and fills up to 100%
- Once an item has been downloaded, its text changes to "Downloaded" and its
progress bar resets to 0%
- When an item moves to the installation phase, its tech changes to
"Installing" and the progress bar fills up to 100% again as it's installed
- Once each item is successfully installed, it *immediately* disappears from
the list

Combined with the sorting proposed in Bug 390911, I believe the result will be
a substantially improved user interface that makes it much more clear what's
happening, and as a consequence generates increased confidence in Discover as a
GUI updater.

[kwin] [Bug 372305] Crash in ContrastEffect::uploadRegion

  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=113741=edit
New crash information added by DrKonqi

kwin_x11 (5.13.2) using Qt 5.11.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Switching back from tty1 to tty7

I am running KDE Neon on a Lenovo ThinkPad T470 laptop with NVIDIA GeForce
940MX hybrid graphics, with two external displays connected through a dock.
This issue just started happening after upgrading xorg to the HWE version so
that I could stop screen tearing.
When I was running xorg 1.18 I didn't have any issues regardless of if the
NVIDIA GPU was enabled or not.
I'm also running the latest nvidia-390 display drivers.

Thanks for finding this issue!

Since the bug report you're commenting on was tracking the implementation of
the feature itself, and because that feature was indeed implemented and mostly
works, I'd prefer a new bug report to track the issue you've discovered. Would
you mind filing it? Thanks!

[kio-extras] [Bug 79943] It should be possible to limit the amount of disk space used by thumbnails (.thumbnails directory)

2018-07-03 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79943

Actually, it's a 14 year-old bug. :)

KDE cares a lot, but we have thousands of other bugs too, and not enough
developer resources to address every bug in as timely a manner as folks would
prefer. Not being addressed yet is probably because this is not a visible bug
that causes data loss, and doesn't seem trivial to fix.

That doesn't mean it's not important, of course! But most of us (including me)
don't get paid to do this. I'm currently on vacation, yet here I am, triaging
bugs.

We would welcome patches from anyone who happens by and thinks of a clever
method to do this. Here's our documentation on the subject:

Does it give you an issue if you render it out at 2690x2303 (the original
size)...or only if you change the dimensions in the render dialog?

Maybe we are both referring to different things when we say 'custom
dimensions'. Custom dimensions to me means exporting a video at different size
then your canvas size.

[okular] [Bug 396137] New: Okular hangs when scrolling fast on both pdf and djvu documents

2018-07-03 Thread Max Sydorenko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396137

Bug ID: 396137
Summary: Okular hangs when scrolling fast on both pdf and djvu
documents
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.4.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: maxim.starga...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Fast scrolling through large pdf or djvu document sometimes causes okular to
fail to display content of the pages from some point. It just sits consuming
100% CPU time, pages content never displayed (empty white pages are displayed
with okular logo in the left upper corner). Meanwhile interface remains
responsive and pages, rendered before the hang occured, are still displayed
when you scroll back. Okular does not actually crash, it just hangs, endlessly
running at 100% load.
Most often can be reproduced when holding PgDn(PgUp) continuosly for some time
so okular is forced to go very fast, skipping pages. Sometimes it occurs when
you type in some page number from the middle of the document and go directly.
This bug is much easier to reproduce when processor is heavily loaded in
background (i.e. building stuff). In that case it could be reproduced almost
every time with any large document. When system is idling it still happens
sometimes but you have to try for a while.

Hey, sorry if seems like it was closed for no reason, you can just reopen the
bug if you feel that there is something wrong with the default settings of the
brush, I understood that it was only when the settings were changed when the
issue would occur thus thought it was a matter of calibration.

But if what you are saying is that the brush (if you mean the "engine" then
every single pixel brush is also affected?) in its original state is having
issues. Please open the bug, and see if someone else is experiencing the same.
I still can't reproduce that behaving as mentioned in previous posts. Again,
sorry for closing prematurely. :)

Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: frap...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

First of all, I am not sure which product I should have created this bug
into...

I am from Argentina, however I prefer to have my system configured in English,
and the issue I have is that, even that the language is English, under
"Numeric, Currency and Time Formats" (System settings -> Regional Settings ->
Formats) I configure the "Region" to be "Argentina", and now the "long format"
for the time is in spanish: https://i.imgur.com/TBscdmJ.png

I tried changing this to be either United States or UK under region, but then
it would change the short format to be MM/DD/ and imperial system for
units.

What I want is to have the time, money, numbers, and all of the settings in
normal "International" format, while the text to be English.

This is particularly annoying since I use KMail for work and when I reply to an
email I get half English, half Spanish template:

https://i.imgur.com/2cEZyWF.png

Being able to choose a different language/region for specific applications,
would also be great

Thanks! Please mention the Qt bug report URL here, and let's see what shakes
out there. We can always re-open this if there's anything we need to do on our
side.

2018-07-03 Thread Maksym
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396133

Software versions:
Manjaro KDE 17.1.11
Plasma 5.13.2
Qt 5.11.1
KDE Framework 5.47.0
qBittorrent 4.1.1 (also 4.0.4)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add global menu to the panel or any other place (desktop or as titlebar
button)
2. Launch qBittorrent
3. Close it to the System Tray
4. Restore it from System Tray
5. Now you can see the empty window

The bug is also present here - Plasma 5.13.2 Arch Linux. It started with Plasma
5.13 update. However I don't use Global menu. See the details in this GitHub
bug:

Doesn't work because the problem disappears if I restart kglobalaccel5. Is it
possible to launch the application is debug mode and redirect the output to a
file?

Or maybe I should try to replace it by a wrapper script
