Nate as I have said before I would rather have a respectful conversation but when told one thing and my eyes see another I do call BS. As I have said respect has to work *both ways*. > We are all trying our best to fix the issue here. We're talking about removing less than two lines of code that should not have been there in the first place. We're not talking some complex application that has to be completely taken apart to fix. Really you don't have to remove any code just roll it back to the original that worked. I'm not sure what versioning software you use but all of them have them ability to do a roll back. About respect, I asked you a direct question that you did not address. Where are the links I ask for on where to find the older binaries? Can't I just copy them over to my machine? [kio-extras] [Bug 397705] Dolphin + KIO SMB: Very inconvenient behavior with applications, even data loss possible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397705 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED CC||n...@kde.org --- Comment #1 from Nate Graham --- I fully agree, and KIO's Samba functionality is very disappointing to me too. That said, we can't have bug reports that are general gripes or that list many issues, as they are un-actionable and don't tend to be satisfactorily resolved. See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting#One_issue_per_bug_report > Browse an SMB share with Dolphin and open an archive in it with Ark: Even with > this KDE program, the archive gets fully copied to a local place before it can > be opened. Sounds like a bug in Ark, please file it there. > Browse an SMB share with Dolphin and open a video file with basically anything > but VLC (e.g. mpv): The whole video needs to get copied to a local place first > before it can be played. I worked hard to help make even VLC work, BTW. :) See https://pointieststick.wordpress.com/2018/01/17/videos-on-samba-shares/ More generally, this requires fixing Bug 75324. > And the worst: Browse an SMB share with Dolphin and open a LibreOffice > document. > Edit the file and save it. Then close it and open it again: The changes > haven't > been saved, they are entirely gone and there was no indicator for this to warn > the user! This sounds very bad and we need a dedicated bug to track it! Might be alleviated a bit by fixing Bug 40115. Marking as a duplicate of Bug 75324 since fixing that would resolve everything here. [kwin] [Bug 354741] Cancelling quick tile causes window to flicker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354741 --- Comment #6 from Vlad Zagorodniy --- So, the root of the problem is the Fade effect. The outline window should not be animated by any of current effects. (if we want it to fade in/out, then we have to have dedicated effect for that) On X11, that's not really easy to fix this bug. On Wayland, things are a little bit better. We can lower the outline window. So, during fade out animation, it will stay below its "parent" window.
