[Phonon] [Bug 398448] New: Independent Device and Application Volume Controls
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398448 Bug ID: 398448 Summary: Independent Device and Application Volume Controls Product: Phonon Version: 4.10.0 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: KDE platform plugin Assignee: sit...@kde.org Reporter: fred_we...@charter.net CC: myr...@kde.org Target Milestone: 4.8 Independent Device and Application volume controls are confusing and limiting. - System Tray Audio and/or keyboard volume control adjusts only the Device Output and not the Application Playback volume. - Applications (Amarok, Clementine, Cantata/MPD, Chrome, etc.) adjust only the Application Playback volume and not the Device volume. The problem... KDE system audio (for example) Outputs to the Device, which is generally set to a comfortably low volume. Applications must then be set to 100% just to play at that same volume. However, client controllers such as KDEConnect control only the Application Playback volume, which is already at 100%. Thus, one cannot use the application to increase the Application volume to a preferred level, which is being limited by the lower Device volume. Reversing the volumes gives greater control to applications, but blasts system audio. Why not a single volume control, which is what I suspect the end-users truly expect and assume. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[latte-dock] [Bug 398447] New: Some icons are badly visible on a dark background

The dock's background is completely transparent, cause that's what I want. Most of the icons are visible very well, but they are in full color. The one I speak about now are black, like the volume icon, the multi-media and network ones. On the KDE bugreport (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382264) there is a solution for poorly visible icons on the log-out screen. Can this solution be implemented in Latte as well? [frameworks-kio] [Bug 398446] New: Remote locations accessed with a KIO-using app are not visible in a non-KDE file picker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398446 Bug ID: 398446 Summary: Remote locations accessed with a KIO-using app are not visible in a non-KDE file picker Product: frameworks-kio Version: git master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: fa...@kde.org Reporter: n...@kde.org CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Let's say you use Dolphin to navigate to a Samba share, NFS location, FTP server, or Google Drive. All is well so far. You use Dolphin to open a file there in a non-KIO-using app like LibreOffice Writer, Inkscape, or Blender. All is well. You change the file and save it. KIO displays a dialog asking you whether you want to re-upload the changed file to the server, which is a bit annoying (see Bug 398216), but it works. There is a problem, though: The non-KIO-using app's non-KDE file picker cannot see the remote location. This means that you cannot use File > Open... to open new documents on the remote location, nor can you use File > Save As... to save a copy of the document to the remote location using. There is probably nothing we can do about this short of secretly mounting the remote location using FUSE like GNOME's GVFS does (See bug 75324) and exposing the mount to the GNOME open/save dialogs, but I'm filing this bug anyway just in case anyone can think of something clever we can do anyway. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Breeze] [Bug 382264] Black buttons unreadable on the black logout screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382264 --- Comment #16 from DeMus --- I use Latte-dock on KDE 5.13.5. Some of the used icons are poorly visible on a dark background, they are volume, network and media-player. As icon theme I use Breeze. When I asked about it on the KDE forum I was pointed to this bug-report and so here I am. Latte is using a transparant background to still see the wallpaper on my desktop. When I open Latte on a light background, for example in Dolphin, the icons are visible. [okular] [Bug 398443] New: okular sometimes goes into a state where "space" is recognized for navigation, but not "delete" or "pageup/pagedown"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398443 Bug ID: 398443 Summary: okular sometimes goes into a state where "space" is recognized for navigation, but not "delete" or "pageup/pagedown" Product: okular Version: 1.5.1 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: frede...@ofb.net Target Milestone: --- I've experienced this problem for a while now. Randomly, I'll open a PDF document, say via a text-based web browser, in Okular. I'll use "space" or the mouse wheel to navigate down the document. However, when I hit "delete" the keypress is ignored. Same with "pageup" and "pagedown" - ignored. But if I use the mouse and click on the document, then it fixes things and I can navigate with these keys again. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to reproduce this. It happens every day, but it may be dependent on a race condition or something because I can't make it happen on demand. Maybe I am doing a particular thing without realizing it, e.g. starting to type before the document comes up. Or maybe it only happens on new documents that Okular hasn't seen before. Usually when I open a document, all keys work for navigation at startup. I use the i3 window manager and the w3m web browser. I'm not sure if the bug is dependent on opening a document with w3m. I know this isn't much to go on but I wanted to submit here because I'm not making any progress on getting more information, and I thought maybe somebody familiar with the code of Okular could say what is happening. It seems that something is going on related to focus. Is there a focus state where Okular responds to "space" but not "delete" for navigation? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[okular] [Bug 398442] New: okular doesn't respect page reverse setting of PPD or lpadmin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398442 Bug ID: 398442 Summary: okular doesn't respect page reverse setting of PPD or lpadmin Product: okular Version: 1.5.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: printing Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: frede...@ofb.net Target Milestone: --- See this bug: https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-filters/issues/47 and here: https://github.com/apple/cups/issues/5315 I wrote: > Okular fails to respect the "reverse" setting in the PPD. You have to > manually check the "reverse" button each time. But xpdf, which has the same > print dialog and also seems based on qt5, lacks this problem. I couldn't find > any documentation of the correct behavior. The problem is that when printing documents on an inkjet printer, I would like to be able to pick up the document and staple it without manually reversing the pages first. But that means having the pages come out in reverse order, since the printer is printing face-up. There are settings in the PPD and in other CUPS tools which allow me to specify that pages should be reversed by default. However, Okular seems to be ignoring these settings. Unless I check the "reverse" box in the print dialog, pages come out in the wrong order on my inkjet. Some things were fixed in cups-filters but I find that the bug persists, so I'm letting the Okular team know about it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Would it be possible to let them retain the focus (or have them think so), but filter out any event so that they receive nothing? I expect such a functionality to be useful in multiple places in kwin. An alternative way could be to provide an interface to ask permission before taking the screenshot. The resulting layout can be seen in the first attachment. When using the desktop cube animation to switch virtual desktops, corruption is shown on my screen. This bug dates back to the kde4 days, as far as I know (it might have been fixed at some point, though). I am using an Intel igpu on this specific computer, with Mesa 18.1.8. Top-left, with the shape of an auto-hiding panel (see bug 382829) that sits here, appears a part of another activity. I do not see that myself (just the panels that becomes semi-transparent; with the right background) when switching desktops, it only appears on the screenshot. [LabPlot2] [Bug 398342] ProjectImportTest segfaults while loading Excel file
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398342 --- Comment #3 from Alexander Semke --- Looks like our code that parses Origin's binary files is not ready for big-endian ppc64 architecture. I'm not sure we can easily and quickly fix this now. A pragmatic solution would be now to switch off the import of Origin's files on ppc64. This would switch off one single feature and would unblock you from shipping LabPlot in Adélie Linux. In parallel we'll look for a solution of this problem in our code. Alternatively, compile and LabPlot in the LE-mode - not sure this is possible, I'm not an expert here... [wacomtablet] [Bug 397775] Support for CTL-4100WL
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397775 --- Comment #5 from Valeriy Malov --- (In reply to lylewang.au from comment #4) > I'm not sure if that means it just works the way it is, or could there be > anything else to look into ? > The mouse cursor still jumps to a different point when I move the pen in the > air (outside area the tablet can detect) If it's actually set to relative mode, there's not much the KCM can do. Might be a driver bug or a hardware issue, so it's worth reporting to linuxwacom project. For my tablet, there is a small distance above the tablet when pen movement isn't registered anymore but it still causes jumps in relative mode. If lift my pen further, relative mode works as intended. > For the additional buttons, I don't see that "Express Buttons" tab. > I didn't use the tablet finder tool to set it up, I just connect via > Bluetooth then it works and I setup in the Settings. 1) Which device ID does the KCM show in the Select Tablet dropdown list in square brackets? 2) Do you have a ~/.config/tabletdblocalrc file? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
