[latte-dock] [Bug 403471] Application Dashboard when called through Meta blocks Latte and stops hiding itself when needed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403471 --- Comment #8 from Michail Vourlakos --- Ok, this is easily fixed I think, it just needs investigation... If I use the Latte global shortcuts it works just fine, so if instead of "Meta" I use "Meta+1" which a Latte activate entry shortcut it works ok... just a comparison between the two code paths will probably provide a solution -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[latte-dock] [Bug 403471] Application Dashboard when called through Meta blocks Latte and stops hiding itself when needed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403471 --- Comment #7 from Michail Vourlakos --- (In reply to Michał Dybczak from comment #6) > > As to latte shortcuts, this needs to be rethought. I am not a fan of this > feature. I never needed it and when it came back it hijacked many of > shortcuts. When I want to assign a new shortcut, it is usually taken... with > latte so I have to override it. It's not blocking anything but still, this > is annoying. I wish I could disable all latte shortcuts with one switch. this is how it is designed from kde kglobalaccel which is responsible for global shortcuts. When a new app is run it requests from kglobalaccel some global shortcuts. If some of them are already taken then they are not assigned to the new app, but if they are free then assigned directly. Personally I find it just fine... All global shortcuts have an interface if you want to disable them from Global Shortcuts->Latte Dock. You can disable them all them in that interface, even though it would request from you a few more clicks (you can request from plasma devs a "Disable All" button in there), this is needed only once, after the first time you run Latte > Latte shortcuts are too aggressive and they never should have override > existing shortcuts. > they dont override existing shortcuts that is a fault assumption > Anyway, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I suspect I added a lot of work > but meta key is frequently used so it keeps freezing my dock constantly the issue is not from Meta key, the issue is from Application Dashboard because Latte makes the assumption that when it is closed as a normal applet informs Latte about it which is not the case. All other application launchers work just fine with that behavior -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Discover] [Bug 403523] New: Discover: Implement a Filter field
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403523 Bug ID: 403523 Summary: Discover: Implement a Filter field Product: Discover Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: discover Assignee: aleix...@kde.org Reporter: derek...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Implement a Filter field so finding particular updates is easier. For example, with 5.15 we can now de/select all. A common use-case could be to de-select all, then find the specific updates we want to install and individually select them. This would be quicker and easier with a filter field. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Discover 2. De-select all updates 3. Manually trawl through all the updates to find the ones we want to select. OBSERVED RESULT Manually locating updates can be less efficient than being able to filter. EXPECTED RESULT Improved navigation efficiency. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46 --- Comment #12 from Nate Graham --- Can't reproduce myself, but I recognize a lot of these symptoms. It s what happens when KIO is told to fetch a remote resource from a GTK app. Usually this happens only for things on like Samba and NFS shares; it shouldnb't be happening for HTTP(s) links. The fact that it is makes me suggest that LibreOffice is sending the URL request strangely, or else your browser has gotten de-registered to handle HTTP(s) URLs. [Discover] [Bug 401176] No embedded videos in software description, just blank space and nonclickable links
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401176 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|FIXED |--- Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED --- Comment #5 from Nate Graham --- Well, it's half-fixed. The link is indeed clickable now. However the link doesn't actually point to a valid video. So there's a big clickable empty area in Discover that loads... nothing. That part isn't fixed yet. On the webpage (https://store.kde.org/p/1110512) there's also no image or thumbnail there because the youtube video link isn't valid, but the emptiness doesn't take up so much space. Could be that the KNS backend isn't properly signaling that there's no content here so Discover reserves space for something empty. Just guessing. Dan, any thoughts? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403518 Bug ID: 403518 Summary: Cropped notification indicator and unexpected transition shadow when zoomed Product: latte-dock Version: git (master) Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: rapiteanu.cata...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY: In dock form, the notification indicator (in case of large numbers, like +), gets cropped by the neighbor application icon, even if that's transparent. Also, as a related note, when you zoom between these 2 items, you get a small visible vertical rectangle on each icon (see attached video). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add next to each other 2 round icons (like Steam and Spotify) and set the notification indicator for the application on the right to +. 2. Slowly zoom between those 2 application. OBSERVED RESULT 1. The notification gets cropped, even if there is enough space to fully display it. 2. You can see a small rectangle (application box), when you transition between them. [latte-dock] [Bug 403471] Application Dashboard when called through Meta blocks Latte and stops hiding itself when needed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403471 --- Comment #6 from Michał Dybczak --- B issue is not so troubling. It's just lingering a bit longer then it should before hiding, but that's just a very minor annoyance, so at the moment let's forget it. As to latte shortcuts, this needs to be rethought. I am not a fan of this feature. I never needed it and when it came back it hijacked many of shortcuts. When I want to assign a new shortcut, it is usually taken... with latte so I have to override it. It's not blocking anything but still, this is annoying. I wish I could disable all latte shortcuts with one switch. Latte shortcuts are too aggressive and they never should have override existing shortcuts. Anyway, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I suspect I added a lot of work but meta key is frequently used so it keeps freezing my dock constantly and sooner or later others would complain about it too. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403514 Bug ID: 403514 Summary: [Feature Request] advanced search - multiple strings at a time - match any of the words/strings Product: okular Version: unspecified Platform: unspecified OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: vjera.t...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I wish there would be an advanced search option - searching several words (strings) at a time. Adobe has it by the name "match any of the words" as explained here: https://superuser.com/questions/843309/can-i-somehow-search-few-words-at-the-same-timealternative-in-foxit-reader-or. Regular(standard) search would acquire searching for example: "dog", viewing results, then "cat", viewing results, then "monkey"... - which would mean when inspecting results you wold have to go through entire file 3 times. I wish to input a list of words (strings) "cat", "dog", "monkey", "baby lion", and as I go through results, one by one, have all of the matching strings displayed, requiring going trough entire file only once. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a 100+ pages pdf file 2. Search for fairly common word in it 3. Inspect all the results 4. Search for another fairly common word 5. Inspect all the results 6. repeat step 4., 5. and 6. OBSERVED RESULT You are required to go trough entire file as many times as there are words/strings you wish to find. EXPECTED RESULT When in search for multiple strings occurrences having to go trough file only once. Having all the results displayed in order they occur in file. For example "dog", "cat", "dog", "baby lion", "cat", "monkey"... [telepathy] [Bug 403061] Telepathy lacks SNI support?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403061 --- Comment #4 from Brandon Bell --- (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #3) > There's an applet. I believe this issue is actually less about Telepathy and more about KDE Online Accounts with which Telepathy integrates. The Google provider for Accounts allows for more than just Hangouts. It integrates Google Drive into Dolphin (and KIO?) as well as something with YouTube. If you're suggesting using a dedicated applet for Google Chat/Hangouts/Allo, I appreciate the alternative, but I still think this issue needs addressed. So this issue is due to Google now requiring the SNI to be provided during TLS negotiation. Clients communicating with some TLS servers like Google now need to be modified to provide this. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403511 Bug ID: 403511 Summary: Brush Engine's Sharpness curve is useless Product: krita Version: 4.1.7 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Usability Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: noemie.sche...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In the brush engine, the curve under the "sharpness" option doesn't do anything. Maybe because you can't have a stroke half sharp (in which case, just remove it or grey it out, it's confusing), maybe because you can and it doesn't work. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the brush editor. 2. Check "Sharpness", then "Enable Pen Pressure" 3. Play with the curve there (you can try different values for Brush Tip > Auto > Fade, too), and watch the brush preview in the upper left OBSERVED RESULT No change whatsoever EXPECTED RESULT some change SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 27 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403486 --- Comment #10 from avlas --- (In reply to David Hurka from comment #9) > Maybe I understood you wrong, so I will try to clarify. > > I thought you are talking about showing/hiding the Thumbnails/Contents Panel > when opening a new document, provided the Navigation Bar is already shown. > > Currently, Okular remembers the state of the Navigation Bar (in menu > Settings), and selects the Thumbnails/Contents Panel when a new document is > opened. > > If the Navigation Bar is hidden permanently, it is likely to forget about > it. So I thought you just want to hide the panel when opening a document. > > Then I suggested to hide the panel when opening a document with few pages. > > The image shall explain my word usage. Yes, we are talking about the same, but talking about it in different terms. I was referring to hide/show (or enable/disable) the bar as the behavior you can see by the F7 shortcut. You use those terms for what I refer as folding/unfolding. So, we use different terminology but refer to the same thing, and your comments indeed belong here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
