Backtrace

SUMMARY
Plasma crashes a few times a day. I'm quite confident that it is related to me
getting messages on Telegram. I'm not sure whether it is related to the
notifications from Telegram-desktop or those forwarded from KDE Connect

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run Plasma with telegram-dektop and KDE Connect
2. Receive a message on Telegram

OBSERVED RESULT

Plasma crashed often, but not sure if all the time

EXPECTED RESULT
No crash

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Qt Version: 5.12.0

[kmymoney] [Bug 397094] Scheduled transaction date keeps incrementing to current date in ledger

Real transaction in ledger

Et voilà the transaction is now stored in the ledger with the date we wanted
and it is not grayed out anymore (because it's not a scheduled transaction but
a real one). The date of this transaction does not change without user
intervention.

Enter the details of the transaction

You can now enter the details of the transaction. The date is set to the actual
due date. I left it here as is to see a change in the ledger and simply pressed
Enter. If you change anything here, you will be asked if this is a one time
change or should be used for future transactions.

Restart the application

In this state when the application starts it detects a schedule that needs to
be entered and informs the user. It is still shown grayed out in the ledger.
Then press OK to see the next dialog.

[krita] [Bug 372906] Brush color changes after color picking with a noticeable delay

I would like to add few of my own observations:

I confirm:
--
1. It happens also for me.
2. It happens with big images.
3. It lags when using color picking via hotkey (alternative invocation of brush
tool)
4. Drawing immediately after picking color is impossible, often Krita needs
time to apply selected color and puts a stroke with previous color.
5. It happens with instant preview turned on.

My own observations:

1. Number of layers has direct influence on the lag in my case. 12 layers
(filled with random stuff) with resolution 3840 x 2160 creates a noticeable lag
in my case (although I don't have a powerful computer)
2. With the same set up (12 layers, res 3840 x 2160) color picking using color
selector tool (default shortcut: P) works without any lag.

Annoying workaround:

To pick a color:
1. Switch to color selector tool.
2. Pick a color.
3. Switch back to brush.
4. Paint.

Conclusion:
---
I think the hardware doesn't seem to be the problem in my case. Since color
picking using color selector tool works without any problems. Only color
picking via alternative invocation of brush tool with instant preview creates
the lag.

Automatic check upon application start

This option needs to be turned on so that the schedules are checked at
application start. A setting of 0 days in advance will enter them exactly on
the date they are due.

The schedule in the ledger

If you switch to the ledger of the account the transaction is shown with todays
date. This is the standard behavior. It is grayed out to identify a schedule
that is due but not yet issued.

dmesg and coredump information

(I'm not sure if Plasmashell is the correct category for this - please change
it if needed.)

When KDE desktop is used with Wayland, the desktop sometimes crashes completely
and returns to the SDDM login screen. Most processes of the user are also
terminated when this happens. This occurs randomly and not very often. The
desktop may work for hours before it crashes. The crash may occur at any
moment. I haven't noticed any specific actions that lead to crash.

Please note that render loop is set to Basic in "kcmshell5 qtquicksettings" as
suggested in the comments of bug #396614

Some dmesg and core dump information is attached. This time only drkonqi
appeared in the core dumps. Sometimes other processes appear as well.

Hi!

When I run my PC which use a UHD monitor(HiDPI) int the authenticator display
the (SDDM screen) doesn't scale the UI, only its scaled the pointer, but once I
login in into a user and I lock the session the UI is scaled properly but not
the pointer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
- Boot a PC with a 4K monitor.
- Look if the UI is re-scaled.
- Log into a user and re-scale the UI as you want.
- Reboot your PC and look if SDDM is re-scaled without any logged in user.
- Log into wit ha user and block your PC or whatever scenario to show the SDDM
with an active user.

OBSERVED RESULT
The SDDM re-scaling factor is not applying in all cases.

EXPECTED RESULT
The UI scale factor should re-scale in all cases and not apply depending if a
user is logged in and has the UI factor re-scaled.

You should use "Apply Initially" rules for that purpose.

This is a standard requirement for crash bug reports. For us, it can be hard to
reproduce bugs, backtraces help a lot to understand what went wrong.

[kiofuse] [Bug 75324] Integrate KIO Slaves into file system using FUSE gateway

2019-01-27 Thread Bo Simonsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75324

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #66)
> Any update, Bo? :)

There are really issues with kiofuse. Tried to transfer a relatively big file,
got me 6 mbit/s and intensive CPU load, with plain sftp I got 100 mbit/s. I saw
in the log

log_kio_sftp: seek, offset = 31170560
log_kio_sftp: write, offset = 0 , bytes = 4096

So kio_sftp is called just to write 4K, because "cp" does it. KIO provides
file_copy, file_move etc for these operations. FTP has shortcomings as well,
because no seek is possible kiofuse is not able to mount the ftp kioslave.
I am quite sure an analysis will discover other shortcomings as well. I must
say I am not really fan of inventing the wheel again here, maybe using existing
fuse technology like sshfs is a better choice, or gvfs.

If I change the line 126 to e.g: width: 10, it will not crash, but the hotkey

[kdenlive] [Bug 403650] New: Effect Compressor (avfilter) explodes when attributes changed

2019-01-27 Thread Dominik Leiner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403650

Bug ID: 403650
Summary: Effect Compressor (avfilter) explodes when attributes
changed
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 18.12.1
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@dominik-leiner.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The effect "Compressor (avfilter)" works correctly when added to a clip.
However, when any value is changed (and changed back to the previous value),
the audio exceed the 0db limits by far (massive overmodulation). May be related
to German interface (using comma as decimal separator).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add video to timeline
2. Add effect "Compressor (avfilter)"
3. Play video -> everything works correctly, filter s active
4. Change any setting (incl. Detection or Mix) and change to previous setting
5. Play video -> Clip plays much too loud an heavily distored

EXPECTED RESULT

Same effect of the effect if the same settings are set.

[Falkon] [Bug 403612] Crashes as User but Not as Root

2019-01-27 Thread Christoph Feck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403612

Funny that you think that a mission-critical production OS should keep at old
software versions, while newer software versions have a multitude of security
fixes.

See for example the QtWebEngine security issues that were fixed in the Qt 5.9.6
-> 5.9.7 update alone:

I was not aware of these icons. view-object-histogram-linear does the job.

Not me. If that bug isn't important enough to you to get a poppler account,
then it cannot be more important than the 549 bugs currently open in the
poppler issue tracker.

please retest with last commit, I fixed a binding loop for height in there and
it could be relevant. The binding loop for width I can not reproduce yet in my
system
