(In reply to Bug Janitor Service from comment #3)
I do not understand what is expected of me now. This should be an RFE.

The only thing I can contribute to information is the following link.
https://github.com/oxan/systemd-kde-agent
This is a project that tried to provide a "Password Agent" for KDE 4.

[konsole] [Bug 403911] New: Background is visible through 1-pixel "cracks" on 4K display

2019-02-03 Thread Alexey Neyman
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403911

Bug ID: 403911
Summary: Background is visible through 1-pixel "cracks" on 4K
display
   Product: konsole
   Version: 18.04.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: sti...@att.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 117819
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=117819&action=edit
Screenshot

SUMMARY

See the attached screenshot - there are two 1-pixel bright blue vertical lines
on the right, near the scroll back + 1 horizontal line at the bottom, between
the Konsole's window and the panel. These 1-pixel lines are actually desktop's
background image showing through the Konsole window. One of the vertical lines
(left one) is sometimes repainted black - but a scroll-up in history brings it
back. I am not sure if it is konsole's bug or window manager's - please
reclassify if necessary.

I don't see this issue on a 1920x1080 screen, only on 3840x2160 - which makes
me think there is a rounding error somewhere...

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Kubuntu on a system with 4K screen
2. Run Konsole and maximize the window
3. Observe

OBSERVED RESULT

1-pixel wide lines of background image inside Konsole's window.

EXPECTED RESULT

Konsole's window covering the whole window's area.

years of neglect. Most distro's still have the older version. That will start
to change once the official release is made.

- enable 4G
- suspend
- resume
- wait the ~10s that the modem needs to initialize and show up
- click the "Networks" icon in the tray to open the applet

After these steps the 4G modem is enabled (as it was enabled before suspend),
but the "Enable mobile network" checkbox in the popup is disabled, which
requires an extra click to disable it if needed.

Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-1030-oem x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
cannot say a lot about this sadly except that this happened everytime when I
tried to move suff around between the NTFS data partition of my SSD and the
NTFS second hard drive.

before that it will always spawn a whole lot of access denied messages which at
a retry, would say that the file no longer exists, no if I go to autoskip, it
crashes.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

No 0.98 is the last release by the orginal mantainer some years ago. I'll
provide a link the currently mantained repo when I get home. This project
unmatian for years. The source forge repo is not being updated. I no longer
maintain a kde4 version do the amount of work needed for the kf5 port.
1.7.95 is version in the new repo. I currently working toward a formal
release of the new kf5 version.

[latte-dock] [Bug 403907] New: I can't use system tray

2019-02-03 Thread beou11Xc
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403907

Bug ID: 403907
Summary: I can't use system tray
   Product: latte-dock
   Version: 0.8.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: sdada...@smiesznadomena.pl
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 117814
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=117814&action=edit
Demonstration of this bug

I can't access system tray elements on latte dock.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create latte dock with global menu, system tray, date plasmoids
2. After using this configuration for some time (I'm not sure for how long,
maybe even instantly) you can't access system tray's entries.

OBSERVED RESULT
I can access other plasmoids, they work just as expected:
- Click to reveal
- Click again to hide

In this case when I click on the system tray I can't access the contents
- Click reveals "Status and notifications" while clicked element was for
example sound control. (plasmoid that does control the sound alongside system
tray works just fine).

However:
- I can use mouse wheel to regulate volume with system tray as well with the
dedicated plasmoid alongside.
- jetbains-toolbox works just fine
- Right click works as expected (well.. kind of, normally only the menu
provided by given element is accessible as far as I remember and here I can see
the latte dock specific menu entries as well, but that's most likely the
correct behavior).

EXPECTED RESULT
System tray should provide element's "content" when clicked with left mouse
button.

SUMMARY

There was a change (apparently) in the Node.save() function that breaks the
"Export Layers" built-in plugin.
Line 172 of it has:
node.save(layerFileName, self.xResSpinBox.value(), self.yResSpinBox.value())

but if you check the documentation the Node.save() function has a fourth
argument "const InfoObject & exportConfiguration" so as expected the plugin
throws a "Not enough arguments" error

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open krita file
2. Tools > Scripts > Export Layers
3. Error Window

OBSERVED RESULT

The plugin throws a "not enough arguments" error

EXPECTED RESULT

save the layers

Just as a note, the next libinput version 1.13 will have high-resolution wheel
scrolling which changes things a bit again. So might be worth waiting until
that API is settled, or jumping in at

SUMMARY
I am unable to download my email with very recent releases (last few days with
OpenSUSE). I keep getting the error, "org.kde.pim.ews.client:
a:ErrorServerBusy: The server cannot service this request right now. Try again
later." This is with Akonadi 18.12.1-lp150.83.1 connected to Office 365. I have
nuked everything and re-created the account on numerous occasions (and had to
manually add the password stuff via qdbus due to another bug). The strange
thing is I have another machine running the exact same version with the exact
same settings and I am not seeing the problem there. I have verified that all
settings for EWS are identical.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an EWS account in Kontact
2. Try and download email from Office 365
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Emails are never downloaded and the debug log is filled with,
"org.kde.pim.ews.client: a:ErrorServerBusy: The server cannot service this

I can safely say that you are not (heck, two out of three active devs are
German speaking).

My best guess would be that not that many users have upgraded to v5.4 yet, and
out of those users only a subset does not already use the compressed file
format and of those users only a subset uses non-English category names.

Still, we should have done a better job testing this seemingly innocent change

Git commit b45dd424da08833004a081347cda62eaeb23eb72 by Johannes Zarl-Zierl.
Committed on 03/02/2019 at 22:00.
Pushed by johanneszarl into branch 'master'.

Flush name cache when changing database compression.

For performance reasons, FileReader::unescape and FileWriter::escape
cache the results of (un)escaping.
With the recent (introduced in v5.4) push to use the compressed file
format by default, kphotoalbum would load an uncompressed file and later
store it as a compressed one. In this process, the cache would be
populated for an uncompressed file and later used to store a compressed
file, producing incorrect results.
On the next attempted database load, these incorrect results may be
discarded if they are invalid XML attribute names, thus leading to data
loss.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 403902] New: Since I named an XML file .spx, Baloo crashes at every login

2019-02-03 Thread David Hurka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403902

Bug ID: 403902
Summary: Since I named an XML file .spx, Baloo crashes at every
login
   Product: frameworks-baloo
   Version: 5.54.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Baloo File Daemon
  Assignee: baloo-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: david.hu...@mailbox.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: baloo_file_extractor (5.54.0)

Qt Version: 5.11.2
Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-45-generic x86_64
Distribution: KDE neon User Edition 5.14

-- Information about the crash:
I saved an XML file with .spx somewhere under ~, after I created it with Kate.
It was definitely not similar to speex audio (.spx).

Immediately at clicking Save the "Baloo Closed Unexpectedly" window popped up.
Since then, it pops up after every login, although I have deleted all .spx
files in the meantime.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392022

The last used are not sorted and always at the beginning of the list, in the
end it would be pointless. Theoretically, a maximum of 10 last used items are
possible, practically there are already after 2 entered letters usually only
about 2-3 items.

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 403668] All keywords/"Schlüsselbegriffe" removed from database with 5.4

2019-02-03 Thread Ingo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403668

I'm kind of happy to hear that my first analysis was going in the right
direction, but I'm wondering that I seem to be the only one stumbling over this
issue? Am I the only German user of kphotoalbum?

I fixed my database by a dynamically created sed script building valid
xml-options for the "Schlüsselbegriffe" from the old database. A few hours of
work, but that fixed it for me. Your approach would have been easier.

I've upgraded my system to OpenSuse Leap 15 in the meantime and noticed, that
5.3 is still the default version of kphotoalbum. To get 5.4 you have to use the
optional Kde:Extra repository. Obviously I used Kde:Extra also with 42.3.

SUMMARY

KSyntaxHighlighting don't highlight constants, like "false", "Inf", "NaN",
"nothing", "true". Is this so conceived? Just, in other supported languages,
they are usually highlighted.

wow that was quick but what means:

separated lists or single list each with different icons?
There might be others blaming that the last ones used are hard to find as the
list is too long.

[frameworks-solid] [Bug 402660] Device notifier clears a device after unmount, but before unplug

2019-02-03 Thread Mihai Sorin Dobrescu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402660

--- Comment #17 from Mihai Sorin Dobrescu ---
I have a supplemental issue related to this.
Some disks go to sleep after a while (WD Green type).
At this point, I can't revive them unless a power down them occurs.
At this point, the disks are mounted from the OS point of view. Trying to eject
them or system shutdown/reboot will try to eject and power them down
indefinitely, as they are already powered down or sleeping (?). This is a mess.
Don't know if it is possible to raise some event when the hardware goes to
sleep, though.
Another problematic situation is when a disk goes to sleep and the system seems
to "think" the disk is available. You have apparently a woken up disk, Dolphin
can browse on it as long as it has a cache of the file system until you try to
operate on it, like copying or moving files. Then KDE becomes pretty much
stalled. No new mounts can be done, complaining to have not available D-Bus
resources anymore for that. Dolphin starts having trouble. But not Gnome's file
manager, not the GTK based apps (like EasyTag). VLC works too. But even the
KDE/Plasma Desktop might become unresponsive. I don't know how much of thesee
can be fixed, but it should improve KDE as much as possible.

SUMMARY
When a web page renders an HREF as a clickable link, I can right-click on it,
and select Open link in new [tab|window]. It would be great if that same option
existed for full URLs that for some reason are not rendered as HREFs.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Navigate to: https://www.techdirt.com/
2. Look at the box titled Techdirt Insider Chat in the right-hand column
3. Select a URL.
4. Right-click on the selection.

OBSERVED RESULT

1. The only option to navigate to that URL is Go to web address
2. That takes you away from the page you are browsing

REQUESTED RESULT
1. Additional Options like Open in new tab and Open in new window and Open in
new private window

Currently, kzip cannot handle zip64 files. Quazip can handle that, so Krita has
switched over to that library. However, KArchive should support it too, so e.g.
kimageformat plugins can access zip64 kra files. Plus, it would be nice to

I am also affected by this bug. After I had to manually upgrade the db via
mysql_upgrade first, I ran into the above issue.

Git commit 2fe372e97b012442f6f5be462ee23ebfcd19a5ab by Thomas Baumgart.
Committed on 03/02/2019 at 18:46.
Pushed by tbaumgart into branch '5.0'.

Added automatic fix to adjust settings of precious metals

Files created before Jan 19th 2019 will most certainly have a false
setting for the smallest account fraction of the precious metals gold,
platinum, palladium and silver.

This change fixes the problem in the file when the file is opened.

At the same time it initializes an investment transaction with the
commodity of the account and not the base currency.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 403898] New: Add option to declare network as a metered connection

2019-02-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403898

Bug ID: 403898
Summary: Add option to declare network as a metered connection
   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: alex...@gmx.net
  Target Milestone: ---

A metered connection is an Internet connection that has a data limit associated
with it. Therefore, add an option to set cellular, WiFi and Ethernet network
connections to be metered. Some apps might work differently on a metered
connection to help reduce data usage.

Windows 10 offers this possibility for instance.

Bug ID: 403897
Summary: Add option to spoof MAC address at each connection for

  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: alex...@gmx.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Connecting to a public WiFi leaves traces as the WiFi owner can track and
recognize the user by its unique MAC address, whenever the user connects to the
network.

Windows 10 Pro for instance has an easy to use option to automatically spoof
the MAC address at public networks.

Patched test file

Looks like you did not create the test file with today's git master and that is
(still) causing the problem.

I added a fix provided on Jan 19 to the source repo in this commit:

https://cgit.kde.org/kmymoney.git/commit/?id=e38492cbc059796addb5a62861e75b851b2428e0

Unfortunately, your test file is older:

The fix creates the XPD currency with the necessary SAF setting. The first line
below comes from your test file. The second one is from the file I patched
(just added that bunch of zeroes as per the instructions in the commit
message).

<
---
>id="XPD" scf="100" name="Palladium"/>

I attach the modified file here as well. Opening this, you should
instantaneously see correct results. Let me check if I can come up with a more
automated solution.
