[latte-dock] [Bug 405687] New: latte panels go haywire with display on the left

2019-03-20 Thread leftcrane
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405687

Bug ID: 405687
Summary: latte panels go haywire with display on the left
   Product: latte-dock
   Version: git (master)
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: containment
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: leftcr...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I have a secondary display attached to the left of the primary one. On
disconnect, the panels from that display shift to the primary monitor (you can
sort of see them as black bars the video - usually they have icons on them
too). Furthermore, the screen edges are misinterpreted, and kwin thinks the
screen is smaller than it actually is (as can be seen from the attempts to tile
a window in the video).

What I do right now is to just restart latte dock and KWin every time I unplug.
This fixes the problem, though the windows still get squished form the earlier
size misconfiguration.

If you be able to reproduce this behavior with a secondary monitor positioned
to the left.

Confirmed.

The only thing is, alpha inheritance probably doesn't matter that much. If you
disable alpha inheritance in the image and save and try to flatten with the
provided python script, the result is incorrect, too.

Also, since the test image has non-transparent background color, the result is
also incorrect because of bug 405684 . It's unrelated to the missing content
problem here, though.

[krita] [Bug 405686] New: Merge layers can cause the merged layer to be in a different position in the layer stack

2019-03-20 Thread Tymond
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405686

Bug ID: 405686
Summary: Merge layers can cause the merged layer to be in a
different position in the layer stack
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Layer Stack
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tamtamy.tym...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 118936
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118936&action=edit
Test .kra file

SUMMARY
When you merge layers from the example file in the order provided in the
"steps" section, the merged layer will be appear at the top of the layer stack
instead of being one layer below. Thus the projection is different before and
after merge.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the provided file.
2. Select layers: Layer 5, Layer 3, Layer 2, Layer 4. (For example: select
layer 5; hold Shift; select layer 4.) The active layer must be layer 4.
3. Use shortcut (default: ctrl+E), Layer -> Merge with layer below, or
right-click on the layer 4 (important!) and select "Merge with layer below".

OBSERVED RESULT
The result layer appears on top of the layer stack instead of the correct
position.

EXPECTED RESULT
The result layer should be one layer below the top of the layer stack.

NOTES:
- If layer 5 is selected or you right-click on layer 5, the result layer will
be in a correct position.
- If you undo, the selected layer will be only Layer 5 and Layer 3.

The test file is a modified version of a file from bug 405366.

After having model of faces trained and enhanced image of face we want to
recognize. Tricky part here is determining when the face is new (not in
training set) and when it is recognized properly. So we can creat some sort of
treshold for distance .

int predictedLabel = -1;
double predicted_confidence = 0.0;
model->set("threshold", treshold);
model->predict(croppedImage, predictedLabel, predicted_confidence);

[krita] [Bug 405684] New: Flatten image with canvas background color gives non-transparent background in result

2019-03-20 Thread Tymond
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405684

Bug ID: 405684
Summary: Flatten image with canvas background color gives
non-transparent background in result
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Layer Stack
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tamtamy.tym...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 118935
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118935&action=edit
Example test file

SUMMARY
Background color is not saved in the image while flattening. This results in a
wrong results if the background color is not purely transparent.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open file with opaque background color. Example file attached.
2. Flatten using Layer -> Flatten Image.

OBSERVED RESULT
3a. The result looks the same as expected, however if you hide the only layer,
you'll see transparency grid... which means parts that were transparent before
were changed to the color of the previously selected background color.
4a. If you go to Image -> Properties, you'll see Background color set as black,
0% opacity, no matter what was the previous background color.

EXPECTED RESULT
3b. The result looks the same, but the previously transparent parts are still
transparent; transparency just look like a solid color, according to the
settings chosen in Image -> Properties.
4b. The same color is set in Image -> Properties before and after flattening.

NOTES:
- if you undo flattening while having the new layer visible, the undo will be
correct, including the correct background color. If you however undo flattening
when the layer is hidden, you'll get all of your previous layers correct, but
the background color will be set to transparent.
- if you flatten image with transparent background color, but the value of the
color will be different from black, after flattening the result will be
correct, but the background color will be set to black, 0% opacity.
- test file was taken from bug 405366 , just renamed.

Maik,

Well, it was the log that I found at the location described by Gilles. I
couldn't get digiKam to write a new log.

That was my conclusion, too, but something is not right here. If you look at
the Task Manager screenshot in Comment 12, it shows that there was about 1.5 GB
of memory available when it crashed (3 boxes from the right).

Just to be more precise in my previous comment: "Reread Metadata from File"
makes the "Photograph Properites" disappear, no matter whether or not I have
changed a tag outside of digiKam.

Disappearing "Photograph Properties"

Maik,

Well, if you can't reproduce the problem, it's difficult. Nonetheless, attached
a screenshot of what it looks like after adding a tag outside of digiKam. For
this picture (and only for this picture), it remains like that until I restart
digiKam.

Regarding refreshing (I know, this was a different issue): Album / Reread
Metadata is still very slow (about 1.5 seconds per picture in the album), so
its practical use is limited. I wanted to suggest to add a context menu option
for "Reread Metadata" for individual pictures but found that it's already there
in the Captions panel / More. And it can be configured as being part of the
toolbar. Ok.

Which brings me back to this issue: Whenever I do a "Reread Metadata from File"
on a picture, "Photograph Properties" are gone afterwards for this picture.
Maybe you can reproduce that?

Finally, the "issues with the character set" I hinted at earlier turned out to
be not a bug in digiKam but in IrfanView that, through all the years I've been
using IrfanView, I had never encountered. An update of IrfanView fixed that.

Thanks for your continued support, and best regards,

Harald

akonadi_imap_resource crash log

akonadi_imap_resource and akonadiserver crashe every couple of minutes. There
is nothing much to make it happen. It seems it happens only when synchronizing
my IMAP mailboxes, but I am not sure of this.

There is a load of associated bugs in my kmail/akonadi, which may or not be
related to these crashes:
- following one of the crashes, one of my IMAP accounts has mails in its root
folder (which is supposed to be unpopulated; of course I cannot delete these
mails).
- sometimes, after a crashe, the whole mailbox needs to be downloaded again
(this means a couple of gigabytes to download!)
- kmail status bar frequently reports errors (sorry I do not have examples now,
I will try to copy one and add it to this report as soon as I can)
- one of my IMAP accounts frequently loses its name and receives a generic name
instead (such as "Compte IMAP 6", sorry the locale is French).
- in kmail status bar, the agent filtering agent seems stuck forever at 0%
- synchronization seems to often restart several times for a given folder.
Sometimes the progress bar goes back a few %, then progresses again.
- synchronization of big folders is always very slow (although IMAP protocol
should allow for just downloading the delta, should it not?)
- when I mark a message as spam (which should move it to spam folder), the
message comes back at the next synchronization
- spam seems never to be filter out anyway (although the bogosity field is
correctly set up in every received message)

All in all, kmail has become almost unusable for me in the last weeks.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.15
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0
Qt Version: 5.12.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

My setup of kmail/akonadi consists in
- a local mail folder
- 3 IMAP accounts with local cache
- a couple of calendars and address books (probably unrelated to this bug)

Morover, the antispam (bogofilter) filters are set up.

re HVM, you can make a big translucent icon overlay right on top of the
windows. It won't actually obscure the content at all. When I was on gnome, I
relied on this extension to make the overview usable for more than 4 windows
(they become really hard to tell apart):
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/60/overlay-icons/

I can't show what my setup looked like cause the extension requires an old
version of Gnome, but it basically looked like that screenshot, except the
icons were much more translucent and didn't have that gray box around them. It
didn't prevent you from seeing the window content but it helped a lot to zero
in on the app that you wanted.

Canvas transparency bug when the background is at 0% opacity

With a file that contains only one transparent layer (or if the background
layer is at 0% opacity), if you paint strokes on an empty layer, you will see
through Krita's window everywhere the strokes are less than 100% opacity,
revealing the windows in the background.

This happens only with OpenGL activated.

Steps:
1- Create a new standard file with 2 layers.
2- Delete the background layer or put it at 0% opacity.
3- Paint on the top layer with light strokes with a preset like "Basic 4 Flow
Opacity"
4- Other windows behind Krita (or the desktop wallpaper) will show through the
partially transparent strokes.

[kdevelop] [Bug 405678] New: Wrong mime type for folders in KDevelop file tree sftp (kio) items

2019-03-20 Thread Murz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405678

Bug ID: 405678
Summary: Wrong mime type for folders in KDevelop file tree sftp
(kio) items
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: file tree
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mur...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When I select "Open with » External Applications" action on "sftp folder" (and
maybe any other kde-kio item?) item into file tree widget and select some app,
I see the dialog:

> Do you want to open all 'application/octet-stream' files by default with
> [MyCoolApp]?

So KDevelop detects wrong mime type 'application/octet-stream' for folders in
list. As result, this app will applied to all other regular files with unknown
extension.

Also when I select default "Open" item - KDevelop also try to open folder as
file in internal text editor, instead of opening folder in file tree.

Same actions on local folders works well, because KDevelop detect right type of
item 'inode/directory'.

Can you fix this problem or provide some workaround for open sftp folders in
external app?

[krita] [Bug 405677] New: add a shortcut to toggle between selection tools (alternatively: between any specified tools)

Bug ID: 405677
Summary: add a shortcut to toggle between selection tools
(alternatively: between any specified tools)
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.7
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
Component: Shortcuts and Canvas Input Settings
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: trueki...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Problem: There are seven selection tools in krita. Tablets have a very limited
number of keys and even on a full keyboard that's a lot of hotkeys to memorize
and jump between during painting.

Solution: It would be super usefull to have one key that just toggles between
those tools when you press it multiple times.

It should probably always start with the same tool, which I'd guess for most
painters (since krita is targeted mostly to them) is the outline selection.

Alternatively adding a more general solution could be a great improvement in
available tools for tablet users and a neat feature overall. This option would
allow assigning multiple chosen tools to a single hotkey that would toggle
between them.

I guess it might be possible to make a plugin for that, but at my 0 level in
coding this seems way too hard.

Please add actions to right-click menu of file tree items: "Rename file", and
"Make copy" that do copy of current file/folder in same location with new name.

At now users must open separate app (eg Dolphin) for make this actions.

Also will be good to have standard clipboard actions for file (cut/copy/paste
file) like in Dolphin too.

At now when I select file or folder in KDevelop file tree and press Ctrl+C, I
see in clipboard only file/folder name.

Same action in Dolphin do copy full file path to clipboard. And when I press
Ctrl+V on other app (Dolphin, Krusader, other file manager), it will paste
copied file to folder.

As result, I can't paste file, copied from KDevelop, to other apps.

Can you fix this problem? Thanks!

[plasmashell] [Bug 405674] New: Interpreting mouse clicks in Kickoff seems to be faulty.

2019-03-20 Thread Lukas Ruzicka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405674

Bug ID: 405674
Summary: Interpreting mouse clicks in Kickoff seems to be
faulty.
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.15.2
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: lruzi...@redhat.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 118929
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118929&action=edit
Attempt to start ABRT

Description of problem:

When I open Kickoff using the launcher icon in the lower left corner of the
desktop and I want to start an application, I expect this behaviour:

1. Run Kickoff.
2. Click on Applications
3. Click on Submenu
4. Click on application launcher
5. Start the application.

When doing this manually, there is no problem with that. Whenever I hover over
an item with the mouse, the item gets highlighted (a blue bar appears behind
it) and when I click on that launcher, the application starts. This is what
people want and expect.

When I use an automated testing framework, such as OpenQA, the produced mouse
click is so quick that the icon can never be highlighted with that blue bar. As
a result, the machine produces a click on an icon, but the highlighted
application is started instead of the clicked application.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Plasma desktop on Fedora 30. version 5.5.12

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:

It can only be reproduced in an automated testing framework, OpenQA. You cannot
reproduce it manually. I am attaching a video for you to see it. The task is to
run ABRT, which means:

1. Go to the menus.
2. Click on applications.
3. Hit down arrow until it finds the submenu System.
4. Click on the ABRT icon - the orange emergency light.

Actual results:

You can see, that instead of ABRT, Kfrb (desktop sharing) is started, because
it was highlighted. However, the testing framework really clicked onto a
correcte icon of ABRT, it can be seen in the logs and on OpenQA screenshots.

Expected results:

Kickoff should open the clicked application, no matter the position of the blue
bar if that click is too quick.

[ksudoku] [Bug 405422] ksudoku live-git (commit 09814312d) small-game generation fails with "Unable to generate a puzzle of the chosen variant"

2019-03-20 Thread Duncan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405422

--- Comment #7 from Duncan <1i5t5.dun...@cox.net> ---
Just a couple notes for the moment, pending testing of the fix, since the bug
has been traced to qt5's tmpfile handling:

When I first noticed the bug and when reported, I was on qt 5.12.1. Since then
I upgraded to 5.12.2. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.

On my system, both system and user tmp are tmpfs, so the copy from installed to
a tmpfile is cross-filesystem. It's possible that may be the complicating
factor that explains why I have the bug while others on qt 5.12.x may not.
(Apparently one tester had a single filesystem containing both the installation
and tmp, so it wasn't a cross-filesystem copy for him.)

It's now my weekend and I should be doing routine system and git-build updates
later today or tomorrow. If the potential fix isn't on master before that I
plan on switching branches and verifying the fix one way or the other, so we
should have confirmation then.

Sorry for the double comment but I thought of another idea. The windows' titles
would be better put below or above the windows.

Writing on top of the window obstructs the window and again makes it more
difficult to find.

Git commit e58804bf9eb8d507d3ef4aa8faf12d6854f5a8bc by Igor Poboiko.
Committed on 20/03/2019 at 09:01.
Pushed by poboiko into branch 'master'.

React to config updates inside indexer

Summary:
In case a config was changed, we need to:
 1. Stop the ContentIndexer (bug 373430)
 2. Remove all scheduled indexing of files that should not be indexed
 3. Check for stale index entries. Those includes documents marked for
indexing, that should be removed
(because of that we need to do it inside `scheduleIndexing` before content
indexing)
 4. Finally, check for unindexed files (if new files were added)

(based on {D15939}). Also note that `IndexCleaner` should clean all files, not
just those inside `includeFolders`

Test Plan:
Seems to be working. But it would be nice to test it more.

 1. Add large folder to config. `baloo_file` start indexing it.
 2. Add it to exclude list. `baloo_file` stops indexing it, and removes entries
from DB.
 3. Remove it from exclude list. `baloo_file` starts indexing it again.

[krusader] [Bug 405670] New: krViewer-okular integration

2019-03-20 Thread Adam Groszer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405670

Bug ID: 405670
   Summary: krViewer-okular integration
   Product: krusader
   Version: 2.7.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: krviewer
  Assignee: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: agros...@gmail.com
CC: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Just installed okular to be able to annotate PDFs.
okular sort of sneaked into krViewer.
Upside is that the viewer now neatly displays images and PDFs.
Downside is that the TEXT viewer is also replaced by okular making text
selection, copy-paste PITA. As I deal with the viewer+text a LOT this is a
problem for me.

Is there a way to disable this krViewer-okular integration?

[kmail2] [Bug 405669] New: Feature request: ability to download only recent message bodies

2019-03-20 Thread Kishore Gopalakrishnan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405669

Bug ID: 405669
Summary: Feature request: ability to download only recent
message bodies
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.10.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

If we right-click on an IMAP folder and go to 'folder properties > retrieval',
one can choose to either retrieve full messages, or retrieve on demand. It
would be useful to be able to retrieve full messages for recent mails, and
retrieve on demand for older ones. For people with large mail inboxes,
retrieving everything just to have access to perhaps the last 30 days of mail
offline seems like a waste. Ideally, there would be a third option which would
retrieve full messages only for mails in the last X days (where X could be
user-configurable).

Apologies if this already exists as an option somewhere. I couldn't find it.

[krita] [Bug 405494] Problems with Qt's Windows Ink implementation

2019-03-20 Thread Boudewijn Rempt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405494

Okay, with 5.12.2 and our patch to disable wintab disabled, wintab still
doesn't work. Windows Ink still is broken: it keeps reverting to the default
preset. I'll try to disable both Qt's tablet implementations and revert to
ours.

Bug ID: 405668
   Summary: Mouse dragging looses focus
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.15.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Desktop Dashboard
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com

SUMMARY
When doing "drag selections" (Left click and drag) on the desktop is done, the
mouse loses sometimes while doing so.

If its relevant, the mouse used is Logitech G903.
I have not been able to track down what is causing this behavior. Tried to
close all running applications one by one, without luck.
The bug occured after updating the arch system.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Hold left mouse button
2. Drag mouse around the desktop, or in any application
3. The mouse should now lose focus arbitrarily

The preferred way to contribute (at the moment) is to do a review-request on
phabricator.kde.org

If you want to use the web-interface:
https://phabricator.kde.org/differential/diff/create/

Upload the patch, select the proper repository and create the diff and describe
the changes.

Alternatively you can use arcanist

arojas, could you please update the patch for the corresponding package in Arch

not contain the patch for

The empty print preview is a bug in Qt 5.11.3, see bug#403159.

And the crash looks like another duplicate of bug#398577...

Actually, the attachment is ONLY of the previous version of plasmashell, NOT

so too will be guidance for doing so.

[plasmashell] [Bug 405667] New: Plasmashell And Google Chrome Freeze

2019-03-20 Thread naroyce
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405667

Bug ID: 405667
Summary: Plasmashell And Google Chrome Freeze
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.15.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: generic-crash
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: nroycea+...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 118922
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118922&action=edit
plasmashell 5.15.1 gdb bt

SUMMARY
Chrome and plasmashell freezes/hangs after some time of normal usage.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run Google Chrome and any other programs.
2. Go about normal usage.

OBSERVED RESULT
Eventually Chrome and plasmashell become unresponsive.

EXPECTED RESULT
It should not hang/freeze? If it's a memory issue, handle it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0
Qt Version: 5.12.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
After some time (days/weeks) of my normal usage, I have been finding more often
that Chrome will stop responding (freeze/hang) and so too with plasmashell.
Other programs will remain up and usable somehow, and windows can be moved
around (including maximize).
I think ALT-TAB window-switching also works.

It happened for over 1 month and I saw there was an update for plasma* and
chrome and decided to upgrade both before submitting the issue.

The gdb attachment is from the previous version (5.15.1 & 72.0) of both.
Since I see it is happening again, I CAN start a new gdb attachment to this
version of plasmashell if so desired.
