[konsole] [Bug 405798] New: Konsole becomes unusable after a search is made, even after cancellation

2019-03-23 Thread A. Wilcox
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405798

Bug ID: 405798
Summary: Konsole becomes unusable after a search is made, even
after cancellation
   Product: konsole
   Version: 18.12.2
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: history
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: awil...@adelielinux.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Let us assume we have a large scrollback buffer in a Konsole tab, from
compiling a lot of packages. (I am a distro package maintainer.)

Let us also assume I need to search the scrollback for a phrase. So I use
Konsole's search functionality. I type in a phrase ("libjni" in this case).
It scrolls to the result after a considerable amount of time, highlighting it
in red. The entire Konsole process is very laggy and unresponsive (even in
other tabs) during this time; even switching tabs takes multiple seconds.

Even after closing the search view, Konsole continues to be laggy for at least
10 minutes until it finally finishes. All the while, the terminal tab shows
"activity" (possibly highlighting other matches? not sure) even though there is
no activity happening in that terminal tab.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Build software in a Konsole tab. Lots of scrollback; my example had 173 MB
of history.
2. Attempt a search in the tab.
3. Close / cancel the search.

OBSERVED RESULT
Still extremely laggy for minutes.

EXPECTED RESULT
No more lag after the search is closed or cancelled, even if the rest of
history has not been searched yet.

Since some time before nightly build 27678b4ca0 (#494), PyQt5 is not detected
when building Krita.

PyQt5.Qt.PYQT_VERSION)
[2019-03-23T08:22:39.918Z] AttributeError: module 'PyQt5.Qt' has no attribute
'PYQT_VERSION'

I suspect it needs to be PyQt5.QtCore.PYQT_VERSION instead, but I don't know if
it is a change since some version of PyQt5 or if there is a bug in the
toolchain. Anyway, whatever change to this will need to be verified on all
platforms.

Transparency on Linux

It happens for me on Linux (KDE) too - I added a screenshot.
Same behavior when I launch Krita with optirun.

I found that disabling the compositor with Shift+Alt+F12 fixes it.

Just for completeness: I'm running LANG=de_DE.UTF-8. When starting kmail from
the command line, I get the following message approx. 100 times (i.e. once for
each address in the vcard.vcf):

org.kde.pim.kcontacts: address format database incomplete (no format for locale
"en" found). Using default address formatting.

[kmail2] [Bug 405791] New: Crash when clicking on a mail that contains vcard.vcf attachment

2019-03-23 Thread Christian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405791

Bug ID: 405791
Summary: Crash when clicking on a mail that contains vcard.vcf
attachment
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.7.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: christ...@cstimming.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kmail (5.7.3)

Qt Version: 5.9.5
Frameworks Version: 5.44.0
Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-46-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
In KMail's list of mails in the inbox, I clicked on one mail that contains a
vcard.vcf attachment. Kmail crashes instantly, before I see any parts of that
actual mail. As a side-effect, I can't get rid of this mail because before I
can delete or move that mail, I have to select it by clicking on it, but this
crashes kmail as mentioned.

The vcard.vcf attachment of that mail contains a somewhat larger list of
multiple adresses - approx. 100 addresses inside that vcard file.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Regardless of the method used to store the window dimensions, Kate is not
remembering the last size in a multi-monitor setup with different resolutions

[kdeconnect] [Bug 375644] Unable to pair kdeconnect when connecting via OpenVPN, even if specifying hostname or IP address

2019-03-23 Thread Keith Zubot-Gephart
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375644

I do intend on trying to bludgeon an OpenVPN and routing setup at work this
week (hopefully Monday if nothing else gets in the way) into accomplishing
this. I'm still somewhat unsure that this is entirely possible with my own
setup, however; Erik Duisters' solution including removing a masquerade rule
making all traffic appear to be coming from the VPN server doesn't apply to my
case, where each VPN client in fact gets its own IP address. That a lack of an
applicable routing rule is nonetheless stymieing me doesn't seem entirely
unlikely; however I've tried setting one from the host PC and added the
hostname in the Android app and seen no success.

(All of this would be abrogated, at least in scenarios identical in practice to
mine, by bluetooth support finally landing, which I'm *also* looking to try out
this week although I know it's far from actually ready yet.)

SUMMARY
With the 'Hide sidebars' setting checked under Views->Full-Screen, the sidebars
revert to their respective default widths if one switches to full-screen, after
changing the sidebar width(s), then switches back to window view. If 'Hide
sidebars' is unchecked then the sidebars do retain their widths after switching
back from full-screen to window view.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Menu selection Settings->Configure digiKam...
2. In Configuration window, go to Views->Full-Screen tab.
3. In Views->Full-Screen tab, enable 'Hide sidebars'.
4. Click OK button at the bottom; this will close the Configuration window.
5. Alter the widths of the left and right sidebars by dragging their respective
boundaries.
6. Switch to full-screen view.
7. Leave the full-screen view.

OBSERVED RESULT
The sidebars have their respective default widths.

EXPECTED RESULT
The sidebar widths are those set in #5 above.

Kate uses KWindowConfig::saveWindowSize() and
KWindowConfig::restoreWindowSize(); looking at the code this is the expected
behaviour, KWindowConfig saves both the width of the screen and the width of
the window, the same goes for the height. So IIUC, saving/restoring a window
size is tied to the screen dimensions.

Closing as not a bug, feel free to reopen it if you don't agree.

How did you downgrade? TO an appimage, or a repo package?

The only thing that 4.1.8 has is a workaround for bugs in Qt 5.12 -- and
depending on how those packages are built, yes, that workaround can introduce
bugs.

Use the appimage instead, if your distribution's packages are broken.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 405788] New: Cannot browse handheld from desktop

2019-03-23 Thread Giuliano
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405788

Bug ID: 405788
Summary: Cannot browse handheld from desktop

   Version: 1.0
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: gcab_d...@libero.it
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I am running Debian 9.8 amd64 with KDE, and installed KdeConnect in the version
provided by Debian.
Everything works fine on the phone side (Honor 7), right upon connecting.
On the desktop side, I can ring the phone and share clipboard.
When trying to browse it,instead, while I correctly get the device listed on
Dolphin (and Konqueror and Krusader), the content is just a folder with a
strange denomination (5D67-6224). Trying to open it I get the message:
"Error: The file or folder
/home/giuliano/.config/kdeconnect/1ee2f76378eb5b6a/kdeconnect_sftp/1ee2f76378eb5b6a/5D67-6224
does not exist." And in fact that folder does not exist.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
As said above. The error repeat always, and with the same folder name.
Installing the files suggested with KdeConnect does not change the situation.

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT
Being able to browse the phone is of course a major feature of such a wonderful
instrument, for which I congratulate and thank you for your work.
Please give some hint on how to solve the problem, even considering that the
connection via usb cable does not work (the connection goes up an down), so I
have no way to browse the phone.

   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tak...@gelbfuchs.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
If you use a tablet (wacom pro in my case) and use the stylus to move the
cursor off the canvas, for example to the dockers, it stops working on the
canvas. The cursor is missing (like klicking or using the side buttons) doesn't
work anymore, except in the dockers.
Activating any menu item or doing something in the dockers (like changing
layers) usually brings the cursor back.

Sometimes the cursor doesn't break but it's still often enough to make it hard
to work with Krita at the moment.

The Tablet is working fine in other applications and outside Krita.

Might be related to Bug 405369, since they appear at the same time and moving
the mouse for a second, brings back the cursor and the pen is working again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the Stylus to move the cursor to the docker. Clicking anything is not
needed, just hovering over some UI-Elements is usually enough.
2. Use the Stylus to move the cursor back to the canvas.
3. Try to paint.

OBSERVED RESULT
Cursor is missing, and nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT
Cursor should be visible and Pen-Buttons should work.

I have removed the recognition db and re-run the scan but I am still puzzled by
the results. In trying to name the face images I am wondering about the blue
'+' and red 'x' symbols in the dialog. The red x means "not a face" but what
does the blue + mean?

back to whatever I set in the configurations.

Hi,

Can I tempt you to create a tablet log?

You can go to settings->configure Krita->tablet settings and open the tablet
tester. There, draw a bit on the window that shows up. There should be debug
output on the righthand part of the window. If you could make some strokes and
try to enable the eraser sidebutton while doing so, and then copy-paste the
output, we can see what kind of events Krita is receiving for the eraser side
button if any at all.

kdenlive will not use the absolute path of the video but the relative path.
Then it fails finding these videos with relative paths when reopening the
project.

I tested this on Ubuntu 18.10 and Fedora 29 with the AppImage packages (stable
and refactoring), as well as with the native Ubuntu package. Result is always
the same.

As soon, as I store the project in another folder as where the videos are,
everything is fine (project-file uses now absolute paths).

[AudioCD-KIO] [Bug 405783] "CDDB information.txt" file from audio cd does not open with the app associated to txt files

2019-03-23 Thread Yuri Chornoivan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405783

Adding

entry.INSERT(KIO::UDSEntry::UDS_MIME_TYPE, QStringLiteral("text/plain"));

into audiocd.cpp:601 allows opening in the default text editor, but only if the
file opens with Konqueror. Funny thing. :)

Do not know how to fix it though.
