[krita] [Bug 403576] Cannot edit transparency masks as greyscale images when using pixel brush with wash mode.

2019-05-01 Thread Brendan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403576

I'm pretty sure Wolthera is describing a different, albeit probably related
bug.

My problem is that I cannot view any transparency mask without isolating the
layer first. There is nowhere on the node that I can click to bring up the
greyscale image that represents the mask, and I'm pretty sure there should be.

[Discover] [Bug 407145] New: Restrict keyboard shortcuts to characters without diacritics on Discover

2019-05-01 Thread Thiago Sueto
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407145

Bug ID: 407145
Summary: Restrict keyboard shortcuts to characters without
diacritics on Discover
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.15.4
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: lei...@leinir.dk
  Reporter: herzensch...@gmail.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 119791
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=119791&action=edit
Note the ê.

SUMMARY
Currently, Discover seems to randomize the keys used for keyboard navigation
every time the application is run, at least partially.
However, keyboard navigation on Discover using Alt also allows to use
characters with diacritics that can only be inserted using dead keys (not sure
if that's the correct name). It shouldn't, as it's impossible to type them in
certain keyboard layouts. For instance, in Brazilian Portuguese, the characters
õ, ê, ó, í and á, which require either one dead key press before the character
or Shift+dead key+character, are impossible to do when added to Alt. Some
examples of localized words with these issues can be seen on the attachment.

No, it's not fixed. We fixed all tablet bugs, but touchpad events are not
affected. So the cursor gets stuck.

Zoom cursor is the most prevalent.
Rotation cursor can get stuck, but since panning restores painting cursor, and
rotating without panning is quite dificult, it almost never gets stuck in this
one.

In a terminal
  balooctl monitor
  balooctl disable

I downgraded kdenlive to 18.12.3 and made an archive of the project I
previously attached.

I upgrade kdenlive on my neon system to 19.04.00 (MLT 6.14.0) and tried opening
the archived project and kdenlive crashed.

I downloaded the latest AppImage, 19.04.00 (MLT 6.15.0), and tried opening the
archived project and it loaded without any problems.

Please let me know if you need any further testing on my end.

[plasmashell] [Bug 407144] New: [feature] Add another behavior when switching from a grouped active application to another

2019-05-01 Thread Guido Sanchez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407144

Bug ID: 407144
Summary: [feature] Add another behavior when switching from a
grouped active application to another
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.15.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: sanchez.gu...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

The intended behavior should work as follows:

1. When the user clicks an icon of an application that is not focused, the Task
Manager should change to the last active window of the application (whether the
application has one or more windows).

2. Since the left click will no longer show the list of the application
windows, when the user right clicks on an application icon, the context menu
should also display the list of windows of the application (if there are any).

I tried to do both things by editing the Task Manager QML files but only got
item 2 working. You can see what I've done here:
https://github.com/gmsanchez/plasma_taskmanager/

I built kstars with your bug fix and then attempted to repro under valgrind. I
did not see any use after free errors. Great!

Note that running kstars under valgrind is somewhat frustrating. You do need a
release build or it's simply too slow, and I needed a number of suppressions to
deal with the 15 million errors generated in various system libraries
(especially DRM).

In addition, you need to be very patient with a number of the GUI actions. I
found that kstars would often deadlock when doing things like starting or
stopping the indi server, and I was forced to kill it (and crashed my window
manager) several times. Clicking around while the indi server connection
(slowly) processed would certainly put kstars in a bad state.

Here's an example where I had to manually terminate the process (the SEGV is
artificial):

I opted to release a new version: 2.0.17. It will contain some extra features
and fixes.

It should probably be arriving tomorrow at the mirrors.

Problematic PDF

SUMMARY
The EPub generator wraps the page content with a html table, and after
QTextDocument::setHtml(...) the pageCount() is -42192. This later leads to
crashes when the page number is used as an array index.

Removing the wrapping table from the firstpage code path avoids the bad
behavior.

The problematic PDF is the one from
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406116, but with the bad navPoint entries
removed. According to EPubCheck, the fixed file is wellformed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to open the attached EPub with okular.

OBSERVED RESULT
Crash

Trying to make a shortcut to my shell script I've created a desktop file in
.local/share/aplications/. Then, I've added the app in the global shortcuts
with systemsettings5.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create the file ~/.local/share/applications/vlc-bébé.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=VLC bebe
Comment=VLC avec la playlist bebe
Exec=vlc-bebe.sh
Icon=vlc
Type=Application

2. Open systemsettings5, global shortcuts, add this "app".

3. Add shortcut "ctrl+alt+Q", quit systemsettings.

OBSERVED RESULT
On next start of systemsettings5, open "Shortcuts" (global shortcuts). This
fails with:

Failed to contact the KDE global shortcuts daemon
Message: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote
application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the
reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

A. In journalctl -f I get:

kglobalaccel5[28685]: QDBusConnection: error: could not send reply message to

B. I guess the issue is because of the UTF8 characters in the filename or file
content.

C. As a result, I can't access the global shortcuts panel in systemsettings5.
How can I remove this offending entry? I've tried to edit
~/.config/kglobalaccelrc but the offending group "vlc-bébé.desktop" reappears
on next login. Where is this data stored?

Second to last line of the patch:

So, you're still including the iconSize().height() in the calculation. Removing
that should work, I think.

but all this can be provided by a plasma taskmanager inside a Latte dock/panel,

It's the correct term when there's a filter field. But in save dialogs which
define a list of supported mimetypes that the file can be saved as, the text
field disappears and becomes a combobox with file type options. In this case,
"File format" or "File type" would be the correct string.

CPU and RAM usage with lock/freeze effect in action

The May 01 17:09 build of krita-4.2.0-pre-alpha-96b04ed-x86_64.appimage has
the two commits listed but still shows lock/freeze with the sample file as
before.
This time, the RAM usage varies in a cyclic manner over a long time with
variations in CPU load characteristics as well.
The attached image shows the file being opened at about the 145 second mark
then activity to the right.
Activity between 230 and 170 seconds is the activity of the Apr 26 4.2.0
appimage which does not show cyclic RAM usage. (The Network History is not
relevant.)

[dolphin] [Bug 398908] Dolphin uses up huge amounts of memory

2019-05-01 Thread Knut Hildebrandt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398908

I noticed that the number of file.so and sftp.so processes jumps up when the
usage of memory increases whereas it is dropping when memory usage decreases.
Shortly after reboot there where only two file.so, right now - usage decreasing
- five. When dolphins memory usage jumps up and some of the instances use lot
of CPU time the number of above mentioned processes goes up to 10-15.

BTW, switching off didn't help. Since system boot about ten hours ago and
hibernating the system twice memory usage increase do almost 5 GB.

Thanks a lot for all the info!

I have been trying to reproduce this issue for some time now and I am not sure
I can. But I have been leaving an instance of Dolphin running on my machine for
2 days now, and I can actually see a rise in memory usage. It is not as big as
the increase you see but it does use more memory over time. Currently I am at
41MB and 2 days ago it was 25MB and I haven't use the Dolphin instance at all
(though I have been using the PC, so it might have something to do with
filesystem monitoring). But I will keep digging, and again if you find more
exact patterns please post keep posting them :D

[frameworks-plasma] [Bug 407129] New: Mouse cursor jumps for about one frame when transitioning to different icon

2019-05-01 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407129

Bug ID: 407129
Summary: Mouse cursor jumps for about one frame when
transitioning to different icon
   Product: frameworks-plasma
   Version: 5.57.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: libplasma
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: felixbra...@quicknet.nl
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The mouse cursor gets offset for one frame or so when it transitions to a
different icon, such as hovering over a clickable link or at the edge of a
window.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a terminal (Or any preferred window), make sure it is not maximized.
2. Place the cursor at the bottom of the window, causing the icon for adjusting
the height of the window to pop up.
3. Move the mouse rapidly between this position and a few pixels down, causing
the icon to change rapidly. Note that moving the cursor rapidly, or this
specific icon transition is not necessary for reproducing the bug but it is the
way it becomes the most visible.

OBSERVED RESULT
The icon sometimes gets displaced to the lower right for about a frame causing
a form of flickering.

EXPECTED RESULT
The icon should switch without jumping around.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: -
macOS: -
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.57.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I don't really know which product is causing this bug to be honest. I will
create a new bug report for the right product if someone can point me in the
right direction, if necessary.

[konsole] [Bug 407084] Changed behavior of profile shortcuts in Konsole

2019-05-01 Thread Mykola Krachkovsky
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407084

But why this was introduced as replacement of old behaviour? IMHO, this have
broken not just my workflow, as profile in Konsole much more powerful than just
visual style.

So basically we need to revert/rework

Right?

2019-05-01 Thread NiO
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407028

One extra bit of info: I am able to transmit files from PC to phone without
issue, the problem only exists transferring from phone to PC.
