2019-05-21 Thread Sol
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407807

Bug ID: 407807
Summary: Discover says it is offline when tryint to update
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.15.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: lei...@leinir.dk

CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I'm running a Kubuntu 19.04 installation that was upgraded from 18.10, which
was also upgrade from 18.04. For some reason, even though I am online, discover
is not able to populate the list of packages to upgrade. Going through the
command line and running apt does work.

What is even stranger is that the System Tray widget shows the number of
packages that needs to update, but when I click on "Update", after a while, I'm
greeted by the message "cannot refresh caches whilst offline".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Wait for the Discover system tray widget to announce that there are packages
to update;
2. Click it and click "View Updates"
3. Wait for the window to open and try to load the package list

OBSERVED RESULT
Blank list with the message "cannot refresh caches whilst offline"

EXPECTED RESULT
List of packages do upgrade

2019-05-21 Thread Kåre Särs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367710

I have already implemented the scrollbar marks for "Find All" in the built-in
find.

As we only search one match forward at a time in the non-all-searches, it would
not make sens to add only one scroll-bar-mark at a time. The whole point with
the marks is to show where in the document we have matches. Displaying one mark
for the already visible area is pointless...

So is this now Resolved?

To be fair, the original English "Secondary toolbar text location" is also
pretty incomprehensible! I think this specific case is an example of where we
either need a better English string, or a re-imagining of the feature itself or
its UI.

The alignment is intentional; the whole unit is centered. When labels on the
left are really really really long, the entire layout becomes wider.

In general the proper solution here is to improve translations, or even improve
the original English strings. These left-side labels are not supposed to be
longer then 2 or 3 words in English.

I don't think this should be changed in Breeze.

If you have large font size (say 40 pixels height), but only want a button with
an icon, which is only 16 pixel height, then the button shouldn't allocate the
40 pixels for the text.

I am reassigning to Gwenview, because it could set a minimum size for the
buttons to accomodate both the font size as well as the icon size.

Alt instead of Shift is Qt-ism, so we've inherited it by using Qt as our GUI

familiar with uses shift instead. However this isn't something we can easily
override in KDE land. Could you report it to the Qt folks? Thanks!

2019-05-21 Thread Ahab Greybeard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407805

Bug ID: 407805
Summary: Oversize preset icons and other icons in other dockers
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Dockers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ahab.greybe...@hotmail.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The May 18th appimage build (Build 487) and all following builds including the
latest Build 490 krita-4.2.0-beta-1baa794-x86_64.appimage have a bug where
docker icons and some lists are presented at a very large size that fills the
width of the docker.
This affects the brush presets, the palettes and the Workspaces/Window Layouts.
Selecting a palette from the docker's drop down list and selecting a Workspace
from the drop down list shows this immediately.
For the brush presets, see Steps To Reproduce.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In the brush presets docker wwith presentaion set to Details, select a
different tag to the one currently displayed. The icon will expand to fill the
width of the docker.
2. Select Thumbnails view and it goes back to normal.
3. Select Details view then select a different tag, it goes to full width icon
in the docker.
4. After Quit and restart it is back to normal appearance.

OBSERVED RESULT
See above.

EXPECTED RESULT
It shouldn't happen.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
All Linux appimages from the May 18th evening build onwards.

Git commit 1ae75b39c952eb2a41ed6292a6ee27fc2e29 by Nate Graham, on behalf
of Tom Moebert.
Committed on 21/05/2019 at 17:31.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

Accelerate thumnailgenerator when loading JpegContent

Summary:
JpegContent::load() is extensively called by the ThumbnailGenerator. Its major
purpose is to retrieve EXIF data from a file, if available also an embedded
thumbnail. This change memory maps the file, rather than reading it all in
using QFile::readAll(). This should also explain the heavy load pointed out in
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331435 .

2019-05-21 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380227

Does this still occur with 5.x? We just had another but filed (bug 047800)
about a moved date for a scheduled transaction. It's not exactly the same
problem, but possibly related.

Also - "non-processing day" is not necessarily the same as a "holiday" and at
least in the US, both Saturday and Sunday are considered non-processing days.
I suppose we might want to better define that term in the handbook, and
consider adding a setting for whether Saturday, Sunday, both, or neither are
considered non-processing days.

I believe 21 June is Solstice Day in Canada (and elsewhere.) However, I agree
there is something funny going on with KDE holiday calendars. I added Canada
to my US holidays by configuring the digital clock on the panel, and it shows
up there, but even separately adding Canada holidays to korganizer, I don't see
them there. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to post this, but I strongly
suspect it's not a KMM specific issue.

If you have been constantly saving, there should be a backup file (those end in
.kra~). Try to rename that to some_other_filename.kra and try to open it. If
the original .kra file is larger than 0 bytes, you can try to repair it with
ziprepair pro.

There are several reasons why failing might save (no disk space, saving to a
dropbox folder just when dropbox decides to sync and lock the files, hard disk
trouble), and we're currently working really hard on making it clearer when and
why a save has failed, but there's not much we can do with this report, since
the failures are always system-specific.

[kdenlive] [Bug 401068] Repositioning and scaling image unintuitive to find

2019-05-21 Thread Henrique Sant'Anna
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401068

Just to add that today I went through this situation where I wanted to resize
the image and to position it inside the frame.

The first place where I looked was the image inside the project monitor, where
I looked for a way to select the image, to activate borders where I could
resize it, and drag and drop it inside the monitor.

Since doing that was not possible, I tried to go with Clip Properties tab, and
on the sub-tab Properties I could find something that could be adjusted, but it
was only the Proportion rate, not the size (or relative size) itself, or
positioning.

I really had the feel that those properties should be there at that tab.

Then I understood that an effect should be needed, but I had no idea of each
one to test first. Tried "Corners", but it wasn't exactly what I was looking
for. Then sow "Transformation", which I applied to the figure on the timeline
and that worked pretty well, with all properties I was expecting to find at the
beginning, from Clip Properties tab.

My suggestion is that Kdenlive should by default to auto add the right effect
to any figure added to the timeline, that would let users easily control the
size, rotating and positioning of the figure.

To this my experience, the "Transform" effect did the job pretty well.

If you set holiday calendar to (none) then processing date shows correctly.
I've tested about 12 other calendars and they all seem to move 21st to a future
date. Some e.g. Canada and France, move it to 25th even though I can not see a
holiday on 24th June either.

Same issue on Fedora-30 KDE-5.15.14 (not on Gnome)

I tried with nm-connection-editor and plasma configuration panel (with root and
without).

I also point out that I do not have kwallet installed ( I haven't tried it yet
with ).

It works if you store the key for all users (no encrypted).

Hi, I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone too but the Android app does not crash
on launching.

If your phone OS is up-to-date, then please check whether it helps to clear the
data/cache of the KDE Connect app on your phone. To do this,
1. press-and-hold the app icon of KDE Connect and select App info,
2. Tap Storage,
3. Tap Clear data

Note: this will clear all data related to KDE Connect on your phone.

Now, try to launch KDE Connect on your phone and pair the phone to your PC
again.

Edited the title to better reflect the nature of the issue, and added a new

Note: on the left several presets are missing because they are outside the
boundary of the presets button's dropdown.

When adjusting the thumb size in the dropdown, the thumbs in the docker get
resized correctly. When size is adjusted from the docker, it will display the
same issue the dropdown does.

Git commit 2cff5cb70a9e680f7c14fbd60b00e31143373399 by Vlad Zagorodniy.
Committed on 21/05/2019 at 12:43.
Pushed by vladz into branch 'master'.

[tabbox] Properly determine depressed modifiers on X11

Summary:
A keysym can be assigned to several keycodes, so more proper way to
determine whether given modifier is depressed is to iterate over all
returned keycodes and see if any is pressed.

If we check only the first keycode, then alternative mappings may not
work, e.g. alt key mapped to win, etc.

The difference you see is in the encoding of the groups, it doesn't matter for
the issue at hand.

Where is the media located? Is it on an external hard-drive for example? Is it
possible that you have a faulty disk that causes the file to be read with
errors?

That doesn't need to be a problem, we would just send a configure event with
