[plasma-nm] [Bug 408370] New: Applet stuck in connecting status even though connected

2019-06-05 Thread Slavi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408370

Bug ID: 408370
Summary: Applet stuck in connecting status even though
connected
   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: 5.15.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: applet
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: sl...@devture.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 120615
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120615=edit
plasma-nm applet stuck in a spinning state

SUMMARY

Sometimes the applet would show a spinner on the tray icon and next to the
Wi-Fi network when opened. The network status for the network says "Connected",
but the spinner is shown on the side at the same time (see the attached
screenshot).

There's a Disconnect button when hovering on the network.

Disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't make the problem go away.
Rebooting the system does.

This is similar to bug 339026, but:
- I'm not sure how to reproduce it. I just know that it has happened multiple
times for me over the past few months
- I do have some OpenVPN connections set up, but I don't actively use them, nor
are they set to auto-connect. I definitely haven't connected to a VPN in my
current session (system uptime is 2 days), but the spinning problem occurred,
so we can likely rule VPN out
- I do use the weather applet. I can't say if not using it fixes anything,
because it takes a long time to see the problem happen (days/weeks sometimes).
Removing the weather applet after the bug had happened and
disconnecting/reconnecting yields the same result - spinning forever.

`nmcli general status` says:

STATE CONNECTIVITY WIFI-HW WIFI WWAN-HW WWAN
connected full enabled enabled enabled enabled

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Unknown. I think the problem is triggered after a suspend/resume.
However, not every suspend/resume triggers it (in fact, most don't).

Sorry, I do not understand this bug report. All input images are always
processed to an output image. More is not provided. Should the tool separate
the images by filename or exposure value?

My best result for evidence, like I said I'm not good at this

SUMMARY
Hi this is my first ever bug report for Krita so I
hope I can help resolve this issue.
Anyway, I just recently updated to Krita 4.2.0
and I was noticing an error between the selection tool,
when it come to the older version, I was able to click the function I want
with out worry of a mix up, like if I wanted to subtract from a specific spot,
I could with out worrying about it being colored in. But now it is acting like
the rest of adding, and the only thing currently working for selection is
adding and replace.I was also noticing with the Copy Layer button as well
wasn't working with Vectors like it used to as well, so that's another bug
there.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on tool
2. Select subtract
3. Still Adds

OBSERVED RESULT
Looking like it adds

EXPECTED RESULT
I can cage the area without worrying about the Eraser taking out my picture.

Installing Mesa-dri-nouveau only causes serious drawing errors, with screen
areas flickering heavily when simply moving the mouse over black/white areas
(e.g. sddm login fields). It does not make the kwin crashes more or less
frequent.

On my setup I can't reproduce at all, size is always correct and on the same

This is ongoing: Shift click on the thumbnail will work only if the layer is
not a parent layer (either group or have masks applied) unless we select it,
but if we do select it multiple selection breaks.

I prefer to select using name area, but i will send the change to make it
multiselect on thumbnail. This of course will make selection on groups not
possible if pressing the thumbnail.

We have a report on presets dissapearing if the area is small and ellipsis are
displayed in name of the Tag collection. And the bruses deform always if there
is only one column shown.

Different row height should be fixed now.

Pressing ENTER/INTRO on the search bar creates all sorts of different
behaviours :S, now I have like thousends of empty collections, also thumbnail
size changes sometimes, but some other times it doesnt.

Can you provide me some infor on the preset collections you are using? I
installed a lot to try and reproduce a preset size bug, and this affects the
number of presets shown on search. It's possible there an exact number that
creates this kinds of weird resize behaviour.

Im sorry but there is little information on this bug report. Can you share the
brand and model of your tablet? the windows version? Also update to Krita
4.2.1, it has some nice fixes :)

Also do you remember if windows update recently? Windows updates tend to mess
up with tablet drivers, in which case the recommended path is to reinstall
tablet drivers.

Ok, I worked for many hours during the last couple of days on a better
solution. I think I have it. I have set up an installer button and put it into
the Astrometry configuration options for now. (I will see what others think
about it, they might end up being moved somewhere else. But for right now, I
would like to see if this new configuration and installer works. Please test
this to make sure plate solving works correctly. Before you can use it, you
MUST run the installer. There is no more embedded python. Please see my
screenshot for details.

drive.google.com/open?id=1K3anbNAcsLC3ddy4UVYpMbcjYC60v8xl

Please test plate solving with your system, to be even more helpful, you might
want to try removing astropy, pyfits, numpy, python, and/or homebrew to see how
the installers work. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

I figured out what was happening. I start the Krita appimage from a script (so
I can have a menu entry in my DE) and at one point in the past I had to export
the environmental variable QT_XCB_NO_XI2_MOUSE=1 as part of that script in
order to get Krita to work correctly. Commenting out that export solved the
problem. I imagine it's related to your updated QT version.

[systemsettings] [Bug 408366] New: Border Size Adjustment Issues With KDE Plasma Version 5.12.8 And OSX_Aurorae Theme

2019-06-05 Thread dasmith
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408366

Bug ID: 408366
Summary: Border Size Adjustment Issues With KDE Plasma Version
5.12.8 And OSX_Aurorae Theme
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.12.8
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_lookandfeel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: dasm...@electronicaidesdesign.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 120612
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120612=edit
Here is a good full screen snapshot example of the Window Border Size being
Huge and can't be change back to Normal size or any other size.

SUMMARY

I am currently using KDE Plasma Version 5.12.8, which was included with
OpenSUSE Leap 15.0 Distribution. There seems to be an issue I am having with
adjusting the Window Border Size in the Configure Desktop when the OSX_Aurorae
theme by Andi Berger, (abgr), from Vienna, Austria. Window Border Size defaults
to "Huge" size and can't be changed unless selecting a different theme, such as
the KDE Plasma default Breeze theme.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Go into the Configure Desktop > System Settings > Application Style > Window
Decorations > Look and Feel of Window Titles.

2. Click on the "Get New Decorations..." button to bring up the System Settings
Add-On Installer window.

3. In the Search field, type in: OSX_Aurorae and the OSX_Aurorae theme should
appear in the list of themes. Note: at the bottom left of this window, I get a
red X with a message which says: "Unknown Open Collaboration Service API error.
(405). Now click on the "Install" button associated with the OSX_Aurorae theme
to install it and then click on the "Close" button.

4. Now click on the OSX_Aurorae theme graphic example in the Look and Feel of
Window Titles. Then either click on the Wrench icon or the Border Size button
to select the desired border size, such as "Tiny". Note: the "Apply" button is
grayed out as though it was disabled, but click on the "Apply" button anyway to
apply the OSX_Aurorae theme setting.

OBSERVED RESULT

The border size of the Look and Feel of Window Titles window suddenly changes
to huge and will not change from huge, unless you select a different theme such
as the Breeze theme, etc.

EXPECTED RESULT

The window border size should change to the size selected from either clicking
on the Wrench icon in the OSX_Aurorae theme graphic example or clicking on the
Border Size button in the lower right corner of the Look and Feel of Window
Titles window, then click on the "Apply" button.

After looking into the code I found that exactly this case is already be
implemented. :-)

Unfortunally in kmymoney/settings/kmymoney.kcfg there is:

The palette used to render charts
   2
   0
   2

which indicates that the default setting is set to 2 (='subdued') and produces
exactly the colors from the screenshot. Using either 'default' or 'rainbow'
gives much better results.

At least for new users the default value should be set to 'default' from my
opinion.

SUMMARY
Diagrams with several accounts are often difficult to distinguish, since the
colors used are very similar.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a report with multiple accounts
2. show as diagram

OBSERVED RESULT
In the attached example, the lines for the account "different costs" and the
line for "room costs" can hardly be distinguished, also for "car costs", "cost

The used chart library supports different color palettes (see

so it should be possible
1. to choose another one or
2. add support to let the user choose a color palette from a predefined set or

[frameworks-kwayland] [Bug 408358] New: Use after free in KDE Wayland integration

2019-06-05 Thread Michael Weghorn
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408358

Bug ID: 408358
Summary: Use after free in KDE Wayland integration
   Product: frameworks-kwayland
   Version: 5.58.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: client
  Assignee: mgraess...@kde.org
  Reporter: m.wegh...@posteo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 120608
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120608=edit
Valgrind output with wayland built from git master on KDE Neon unstable

SUMMARY

There is a use-after free problem in
plasma-integration/libkf5waylandclient/libwaylandclient.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. log into a Plasma Wayland session
2. start any KDE (or Qt widget) application with environment variables
'MALLOC_CHECK_=2 MALLOC_PERTURB' set.

OBSERVED RESULT

The application crashes, e.g. like this:

$ MALLOC_CHECK_=2 MALLOC_PERTURB_=153 kate
kate: ../src/wayland-client.c:226: wl_proxy_unref: Assertion
`proxy->refcount > 0' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

EXPECTED RESULT

The application should run just fine.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

VM with:

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0
Qt Version: 5.12.0
Kernel Version: 4.18.0-21-generic
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel Xeon E3-12xx v2 (Ivy Bridge)
Memory: 7,7 GiB of RAM

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

* Package versions on KDE Neon (originally observed in Debian testing with
older versions):
  * plasma-integration: 5.15.5+p18.04+git20190604.0336-0
  * libkf5waylandclient5: 4:5.58.0+p18.04+git20190602.0143-0
* The real world use case is LibreOffice with its relatively new qt5/kde5
integration. The LibreOffice shell wrapper sets the above two environment
variables, so LibreOffice currently doesn't start in a Plasma Wayland session
with kde5 integration in use.
* The same happens when using upstream wayland libs built from its current
master branch (as of commit 78c8681e28739da1fea667ae59118cfc0968497).
* Valgrind output for that scenario attached.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 402154] Baloo reindexes everything after every reboot

2019-06-05 Thread Kieran Ramos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402154

I have also noticed similar behavior. I am hypothesizing that the problem is
because I instructed baloo to also index a secondary drive which is using
encrypted ZFS. Unfortunately on my last reboot my encrypted ZFS partition did
not automatically mount, but after mounting it baloo started to reindex it. The
reindexing takes hours and a lot of resources that slows down the system. This
has been a recurring issue.

I did actually check the OpenGL setting at someone else's suggestion. After
switching to Direct3D, that actually ended up fixing the issue. Krita now
functions perfectly normal for me. It might help to find a universal setting in
Krita to help most people get started without issue.

--- Comment #3 from dasm...@electronicaidesdesign.com

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #2)
> Does it work if you switch back to the default Breeze theme?

Yes, Nate. As soon as I selected the default Breeze theme and click on the
Apply button, then the Window Border Size could be adjusted. However, if I
selected the OSX_Aurorae theme, the Window Border Size returns to "Huge" when I
click on the Apply button. If I select the Plastik theme and click on the
Apply, I can adjusts the Window Border Size even though the Border Size
adjuster widget button shows "Normal" and the Apply button is shaded out like
it's disabled. This needs to be fix because it doesn't work consistent.

Thank you,

Ok. Please keep doing more tests with this Kernel version. As this seems to be
an intermitent bug, better to keep this running for a while. If it keep working
properly for a couple of days, please attach the output of dmesg with the
working Kernel and with the problematic one.

The device you're using is the saa7134-based Kworld ATSC 110, right?

The only change on this driver since 4.18 was the addition of composite and
s-video inputs for "ASUS P7131 4871", with shoudn't affect anything.

So, if a regression was introduced, it was somewhere either at the PCI core or
inside the Kernel core. Before trying to dig into it, better to confirm that
the bug has gone with 4.18.

there's another possibility, too, now that I think of it. The appimage cannot
load the KDE plasma Qt platform plugin that might be present on your systems,
and that does stuff about single and double mouse clicks. If you're using
plasma, does changing the single/doubleclick setting make a difference?

Dialog box where you change the maildir folder

If the default maildir folder is changed using the dialog box as shown in the
attached snapshot then kmail fails to use that folder but creates a new folder
under your home directory in a folder called "file:"

Example:

If you enter /home/nick/Data/local-mail as the folder containing your maildir
files, kmail instead creates and uses
/home/nick/file:/home/nick/Data/local-mail.directory/

which of course isn't where your maildir folders and files are !

Why is kmail creating a subdirectory called "file:" in your home directory ?

The problem this creates is that any old emails that are in
/home/nick/Data/local-mail don't get indexed or displayed by kmail.

Also because kmail insists on creating a file: subdirectory in your home folder
and storing new email there you can't have all your emails on a different
partition to your home folder.

Commit 1ef147cdc5bab0a84bb30f3af1b8355c38fe433e on 19 April 2019 for bugs
396225 and 392305 showed ALL accounts when an import needed to map to an
account, but the information in the import was wrong and led to the desired
account not being listed.
I think the commit went a bit too far, as now even investment accounts are
listed, and these are inappropriate for importing any account type except
investment. (I'm hoping no institution gets this wrong, but only sometimes
mixing asset with expense types.)
As this is only a minor inconvenience, it might be reasonable to make this a
wishlist. The original commit had a comment that one possibility was a UI to
allow selection of what type of accounts should be shown if the desired account
was not on the list originally presented for import.
In addition - if the list is being shown to choose the brokerage account to use
when importing an investment account, that investment account should certainly
NOT be included in the displayed list.

Note commit 1ab18d6b13b20af947a3c43e9a67a1db1e97d430 from bug 363069 in 2016
apparently also addressed this issue, hopefully not relevant now.

manually quit kauth's mainloop

Summary:
kauth helpers have a qcoreapplication started which auto-terminates after
10 seconds of idle time. this would be an added time out on top of our
life time management that is not necessary. to prevent this additional
delay simply quit the qapplication directly.

this makes helper termination almost instantaneous even when the dbus
client disappears due to crash or SIGINT, and largely removes the
need to call stopHelper altogether.

Test Plan:
both partitionmanager and calamares instantly quit the helper no matter how the
client process gets terminated

other than that everything seems to work as before

Ok. It seems very likely that this is either a Kernel or a dvbv5 library
regression.

Let's try to isolate it. Could you please try to:

1) run the Fedora 29 Kernel you have at the LiveCD on Fedora 30?

You should be able to download it from https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/,
for example (or even from a F29 repository).

2) do the same for dvbv5?
