Thanks for your report.

I have a couple questions needed to better understand what happen.

In my case, tracks often have both album and artist album. In this case, the
compilation will not get duplicated. Do yours have missing album artist
metadata ?

There is a feature to not collapse identically named albums in case the path is
different (and album artist is missing). This should work under the hypothesis
that if the path is different they are probably different albums. Is this your
case ?

There is a burst of 5+ duplicate notifications.

When there are duplicate notifications (within a certain timeframe? from the
same source?), only 1 notification is captured and displayed.

SUMMARY
When I initially boot my computer, everything works perfectly well, but after
several minutes applications will no longer launch via the menu or panel
shortcuts. I am able to launch the applications from Konsole just fine at all
times, but not graphically via any method that I have found.  I do not see any
error messages, but I also am unsure what log files to search for to find what
might be happening.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot the computer. Click on the menu icon for a program. Notice the
application starts as expected.
2. Wait a few minutes (best guess is that 5 minutes is sufficient).
3. Click on the menu icon for a program. Notice tat the application appears to
start but then closes after about 1 second.
4. The same behavior is seen if the application opened in step 1 is closed and
then attempted to be opened again, or if a different application is chosen for
step 3.
5. Type in the command to execute the program in Konsole. Notice that the
application starts correctly.
6. Reboot the computer and notice that the menu icons work again initially
(back to step 1).

OBSERVED RESULT
After several minutes of running, applications fail to open when clicking on
menu icons.

EXPECTED RESULT
Applications should always open via menu icons.

Note that selected elements in the sidebar seem to have correct theming - IE,
click Now Playing, click off window, Now Playing has the correctly set active
element background color. The only broken color is the default unselected
background.

This also happens in macOS with fast strokes with wacom and genius tablets.

Could it be that there is some latency issues when initializing the stroke? I

Columns may now be hidden using a context menu which can be displayed by right
clicking in the column headers. The Repeat, Colour and Type columns may now be
hidden in addition to Time or Time To. The View menu options to show/hide the

Thanks. It does seem exactly the same. I tried to change the timezone from
Asia/Tokyo to Asia/Shanghai or America/New_York. But it does not work.

Hello emohr,

thank you for your quick answer. This version works, but it seems to be
a completely different version, because I am not able to change it to
my personal layout.

I have deleted now the following files resp. directories in my home
directory:

~/.local/share/kdenlive
~/.cache/kdenlive
and
~/.config/kdenliverc

Kdenlive (the "original" one) still crashes, when trying to open the
fileselector-box for adding clips. It also crashes when trying to set
to full screen.

I know one of the maintainers of Void-Linux, and he told me some time
ago, that they always compile the programs with the standard options,
which the developers recommend. And they never put any modifications to
the programs …

SUMMARY

Currently there's a timeline panel that shows an histogram of the number of
pictures per unit of time, and there's the possibility of saving searches for
specific timeframes. 

However, I feel there's a degree of overlap between the Timeline and Dates
panels and their function is redundant: both show pictures classified by units
of time (year and month) which are displayed chronologically. 

I think the timeline panel has lots of potential if combined with tags (or even
People). For instance, showing the histogram of a Tag. Or overlapping
histograms of different colors for a selection of tags. (e.g.: to visualize the
time frame of the weddings I've attended, or when you last had contact with
some friend).

That's it, just an idea.

SUMMARY
In the "File Search — System Settings Module" window (accessible by "File
Search" in the Application Launcher has a section captioned "Do not search in
these locations".

The drives in this section are, in fact, the ONLY ones in which search works.

If a drive is taken out of this list, implying it WILL work with search, search
no longer works for that drive in Dolphin.

If a drive is put in this list, implying it won't work with search, search
works with that drive in Dolphin.

This behavior can be easily checked and survives reboots.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Put a drive in "Do not search in these locations" section of "File Search"
window
2. Try searching that drive in Dolphin
3. Take that drive out of the section and repeat 2

OBSERVED RESULT
Drives in "Do not search in these locations" section of "File Search" window
are the only ones searchable

EXPECTED RESULT
Drives NOT in "Do not search in these locations" section of "File Search"
window should be the only ones searchable

The mess that’s produces when trying to use arrow keys, backspace, enter, etc.
while using ibus-hangul

SUMMARY
Typing Hangul in Konsole results in characters being printed instead of their
action, e.g. suppr, arrows keys or enter print characters instead of doing
their action.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install and configure Ibus
2. Install and enable ibus-hangul
3. Type Hangul in Konsole

OBSERVED RESULT
- Typing arrow up, right, down, left produces each ｑ, ｒ, ｔ, ｓ
- Typing enter produces －
- Typing backspace results in （
- etc.

EXPECTED RESULT
Typing Hangul works as in other applications.

Wow, I commented here 3 days ago (bug was present for me since always, at least
few years) and some update in meantime seemed to fix the bug!!! There is no lag
on intel X session and it all works fluently like on Nvidia or in Wayland!
Awesome!

The only update that looks like could bring that fix was qt5-base 5.12.4-2.1 or
kwin 5.16.1-4.

Can anyone on Arch or Manjaro unstable also confirm that there is no lag
anymore?

I think I'm experiencing something similar, in a Wayland session the system
tray is not usable after some time (in my experience I can use it more than
once).
The system tray is there and the icons are "updating" but if I click on them
the corresponding "applet" is not shown.
To be more precise, the blue line animation is displayed, but no popup/applet
appears.

Oh!

The default behavior of the Task Manager changed recently so that now it only
shows windows open in the current virtual desktop. If you don't like this, you
can change it back!

Right-click on panel or task manager > Configure Task Manager > uncheck "Show
only windows from this virtual desktop"

That will bring back the old behavior that you liked better.

That makes sense, because Baloo intentionally does not resolve symlinks. I
think the idea is that the location that the symlink points to should itself
simply be added to the index instead.

Maybe Elisa can take care of resolving the symlink itself and pass the resolved
path to Baloo?

[placement] Avoid smart placement strategy with invalid client sizes

Summary:
To do so can in some situations lock up as the loop goes through
different positions incrementing by client->width/height.

If this is zero we can get into a stuck state.

This became a more common issue due to my earlier patch that places windows
in ShellClient::finishInit to allow the maximize placement strategy to
set the first configure size.

It's likely that new Mesa drivers were installed when I did the new
installation of the system. Before that, the driver was locked and never
updated.
Unfortunately, I don't know which version the old driver had. I didn't expect
such a problem so I didn't pay attention for it.

I'm quite new in using Linux but when I add the nVidia repository to my
software sources it doesn't show me a suitable nVidia driver for tumbleweed.
The only driver there are for GeForce 400 series and newer or GeForce 600
series and newer, respectively.
I don't like to install the driver from nVidia's homepage as it dates from
2017.9.19.

Should I report my problem at Mesa project?

I can not see a difference in the sharpness with a test image from the web. For
me, digiKam has developed the better RAW image if the automatic brightness
option is activated. Please make a screenshot with both programs in the view.

IMO, this is supposed to work:
If the application is sending SIGKILL to itself,
the syscall is intercepted, and some special handling is suppose
to happen to ensure the process dies.

See e.g. m_signals.c async_signalhandler
and/or syswrap-generic.c ML_(do_sigkill).

So, if it does not work, this looks to be a real bug.

do you have a small compilable reproducer ?

2. View the RAW file in editor
3. The image looks out of focus. 

OBSERVED RESULT
The image looks out of focus, looks blurred. The same files imported and
displayed in darktable are looking sharp.

SUMMARY
I have several albums on my PC which in the ID3 tags only have the same "Album"
tag, the Artist tag is different for the songs in these albums.
But in Elisa in the "Albums" view I see these albums many times for each artist
and each "Album" in Elisa contains only the Album<->Artist combo instead of
being grouped into one Album.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have multiple files with the same Album tag but different Artist tags

OBSERVED RESULT
Observe that they don't get grouped into one album but into an album per artist

EXPECTED RESULT
Instead of being one Album per album tag with the different songs/artist being
inside that.

At least for ~/Music being a symlink to somewhere else, this is the issue:

org.kde.elisa.baloo: rootPaths: ("/home/luca/Music")
org.kde.elisa.baloo: LocalBalooFileListing::triggerRefreshOfContent
"/mnt/hdd/Music/Monstercat/Monstercat 020 - Altitude/16. Muzzy - Lost
Metropolis.mp3" does not match root paths

So basically the symlink has to be resolved. After changing the Elisa config to
not point to /home/luca/Music but to /mnt/hdd/Music, my music finally appeared.

Btw for debugging baloo stuff in elisa, the command 'env
QT_LOGGING_RULES="org.kde.elisa.baloo.debug=true" elisa' is quite useful.

@unxed: Can you try this with the 4.2.1 appimage from the krita download site?

The bug.kra file provided shows a green colour in the Tool Options docker when
the shape is selected but indicates full opacity on the opacity slider.

If I try to recreate this image with a new file, I get opacity of about 0.75
showing on the opacity slider after save and re-open and selecting.

Also, copy/pasting the text from bug.kra to a new image (same size of course)
and using the same font/size etc values, I get larger text.

Examining the original bug.kra file svg contents, the detailed syntax is
different from anything I create and is also different if bug.kra is saved to a
new filename. This is for both the shape and the text.

In the bug.kra file (as in one I create), the shape stroke is opacity=0 and
width=0 (i.e. no stroke). If I manually edit bug.kra to have width=1, then the
total transparency effect doesn't happen when you move both together.

There seems to be something unusual happening with the .svg representations and
interpretation.

What Qt version are you using?

Even though the debug symbols are missing, your backtrace looks pretty much
like bug#404275.
That was a bug in Qt (the crash only occurs with certain time zones), and
should be fixed in Qt 5.12.3.

Hmm, Apple seems to cook its own soup again. I do not see a name, just a
FaceID, if that. Probably digiKam can not find a name and ignores the region.
This will be difficult to implement. Can you please upload a test image?

Make automatic spellcheck work after reloading a document

Summary:
When a document gets reloaded for whatever reason, automatic spellcheck
should be refreshed so as to re-process the document contents.
FIXED-IN: 5.61.0

Test Plan:
- Open a document - with a couple of misspelled words - in kate
- Enable "automatic spell checking"
- Reload the document
- The misspelled words in the document should be higlighted after reloading

if you send Krita running on Integrated Intel GPU, I can test it. If you are
considering an AMD hotfix, I believe it will not work because this is Apple GPU
driver problem.

If digikam is than used to assign a name to that region, the name is only added
as a keyword. The item in the RegionList is not updated. As a result, reloading
the metadata from the file will lose the name.

4. Use digikam to assign a name to the face

Why has the state changed to "RESOLVED"? It's still not resolved, it happen to
me every few days that kmail starts with a blank screen and no contents.

After closing, there still remains a process named "kmail" and I have to kill
it, before I can start starting a next kmail-session.
