You can configure on your phone which apps get their notifications relayed.

Also, for presentations you can enable do not disturb mode since Plasma 5.16
which hides all notification popups.

[kdiff3] [Bug 409482] New: horizontal scrolling in diff view does not show full line

2019-07-04 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409482

Bug ID: 409482
Summary: horizontal scrolling in diff view does not show full
line
   Product: kdiff3
   Version: 1.8.x
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: reeves...@gmail.com
  Reporter: kol...@aon.at
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
clicking on a different file when comparing a directory shows the diff view
at the bottom.
There I scroll down to see the changed line, which is wider than the left or
right source view so I scroll horizontally to see the rest of the line.
However the right part of the line is sometimes not shown or shown cut.
For me this looks like a redraw problem since when I scroll by dragging the
scrollbar handle, nothing is shown at the part which is moved into the view
from the right side. However when I click inside the scrollbar to scroll
page-wise to the right, then I can see the right part of the line

[kstars] [Bug 405437] Local astrometry server crashes after upgrading from KStars 2.9.8 to KStars 3.1.0, and 3.1.1 afterwards

2019-07-04 Thread Rob
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405437

Thanks for the idea. I think we almost have it all sorted out. In the past I
have tried the cloud makers app for plate solving and I have found it to be
nice for downloading and managing index files, but not as nice for the actual
solving.

The really good news is that the stuff you had to do from the command line is
no longer necessary because I found a way to integrate the error output so that
it all prints in the Ekos window now. No more needing to copy and paste the
commands to see what is wrong.

When you said. That you need to use the cloud makers app to manage your index
files, why is that necessary? I spent a lot of time about 2 years ago making
an index file manager in Ekos. Is that not working for you?

PS I am on vacation in Alaska and won’t be back for two weeks. I have spotty
internet service. So I might not get messages right away.

This was reported a few weeks ago (I'm sure Boud was involved) and I've deleted
the emails for it so it's probably been fixed. I can't find the bug report
using search though.

Can you try the Stable Windows build at:
https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Krita_Stable_Windows_Build/

If that doesn't work, try the Nightly build at:

Same. Marking it as fixed.
I'm on 5.16.2 as of a few days ago and xrestop shows it's behaving.

I upgraded at that time because of 2 issues which I didn't post about...
1) I had previously disabled the window thumbnails because of that "leak" and
switched to the window previews, which had it's own problems such as it not
handling the mouse movements in time when under load and keep the transparency
in place until I hovered over a window in the application panel again.
Other times, if I right mouse on a window in the panel to get the context menu
options, again it would sometimes switch to transparency because of load/timing
and I couldn't even see the menu.
Great features, buggy implementations. Nice to get this back though.
2) Some new bizarre encounter where plasmashell and ksysguardd were pulsing
high cpu usage. I upgraded on the day after that began.

Another reason to upgrade was a supposed fix to another "feature" (not really a
bug) I posted about, regarding a change with the notification system where I
began to get bursts of notifications.
I'll have to look again because I thought it was this release, but it's still
happening.

Whatever the case, this issue seems to be resolved by "something".

Updated scope:
I've asked several artist friends of mine to see if they notice it, and each
one (all windows 10, various hardware) said they notice it doesn't seem smooth.

I've installed a dual-boot of Ubuntu 19.04 on my primary desktop to see if that
works, but the same exact issue is occurring in that environment as well.
Frames are 'skipping' just like on windows, despite the canvas rendering at
over 60FPS

When I try to drag a file to the dock when it's hidden, it doesn't show up.

You can check the problem in this GIF:
https://media.giphy.com/media/MCQykQqkKCM8HHkWhJ/giphy.gif

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set the dock in Dodge Active or auto hide
2. Maximize Dolphin window or cover the dock with it
3. Drag a file from Dolphin to the dock

OBSERVED RESULT
The dock does not show up so I cannot maximize the desired program to share the
file. Maybe something to do with the UDH screen?

EXPECTED RESULT
The dock show up and then I can maximize another windows to share the file.

SUMMARY
I connect thru FISH protocol to a server as root with Krusader. If I try to
change file owner thru "Changing permissions and file ownership" using KRename
(I don't know any other easier way, maybe that's the problem) when I click on
the list of selectable users and groups, I only can see the local users and
groups.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect as root to a remote server with Krusader
2. Select some files/folders and press "Shift + F2", click "Plugins" tab and
selec "Permissions" in "Plugins" list.
3. Enable "Enable plugin" and "Change Owner".
4. Click on "User" list -> You will see only local users
5. Click on "Group" list -> You will see only local groups

OBSERVED RESULT
Can't change remote files user/group to remote server existent user/groups

EXPECTED RESULT
Let user at least to TYPE user/group that user needs to assign.

[frameworks-plasma] [Bug 409490] New: Recording desktop video isn't possible with compositing disabled

2019-07-04 Thread Nick Stefanov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409490

Bug ID: 409490
Summary: Recording desktop video isn't possible with
compositing disabled
   Product: frameworks-plasma
   Version: 5.59.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: components
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: m...@abv.bg
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Record desktop isn't possible with compositing disabled. Since enabled
compositing introdice heavy stuttering and visual glitches in some games, when
I record a gameplay video it's recommended to disable compositing if the game
doesn't turn off it by yourself via "Allow applications to block compositing"
option.

And here is the problem - when I disable compositing the recorded video is a
black screen or the first frame from the game, be it a splash screen, movie or
a company logo. I tried every singe record desktop software available and all
behave the same way - blank video with compositing disabled.

If I enable compositing the video is recorded fine but with graphical glitches
and stuttering. I'm forced to instal a LXDE DE to record videos which isn't ok
I think.

Excuse me if the isuue isn't in the right section but I really don't know where
to post it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Disable compositing and try to record a game video.
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Blank video with sound but no image.

EXPECTED RESULT
Video with image.

1. Yes.
2. I can open it but it crashes when I play it and when I don't do anything to
the animation. I tried on both On-disk and In-memory and they both gave the
same result.
3. I was able to draw on each of the frames but few seconds after finishing,
Krita crashed.
4. I was able to create the blank frames and draw on them but when I played it,
it crashed. If I don't play the animation after drawing on the frames, Krita
crashes after a few seconds.
5. I changed it to In-memory and get the same result as when it's on On-disk.

I've noticed that after doing these tests, after the crash my drawing tablet
stops working. I have a display tablet and the screen is still displaying my
laptop screen but the pen won't move the mouse after the crash. I have to
replug it into my laptop in order for it to work again.

[kwin] [Bug 409492] New: Graphic artifacts on Kubuntu 18.04

2019-07-04 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409492

Bug ID: 409492
Summary: Graphic artifacts on Kubuntu 18.04
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.12.7
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: megastall...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Plasma artifacts screenshot

I've got graphic artifacts, looking like blinking colorful dots and dashes
after Kubuntu 18.04 installation on my Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5 laptop with
intel graphics.
It happens once a couple of days, after a couple of hours of work. To stop the
blinking, you can just move the application window around. I've tried switching
different OpenGL backends, and changed other compositing changes, but nothing
helps.
I can provide more insights on hardware and/or logs if needed. Thanks much!

[krita] [Bug 409373] Krita crashes when Background and Layer 1 are present in Timeline box at the same time

2019-07-04 Thread Ahab Greybeard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409373

Just to clarify: You're running Windows 10 64-bit?

What make and model of laptop do you have?

What make and model of display-tablet do you have?

Disconnect your display-tablet and reboot your laptop and use only your
mouse/trackpad. Go to C:\Users\{your-user-name}\Application Data\Local and
rename the file called 'kritarc' as 'kritarc-previous'.

Go to https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/4.1.7/krita-x64-4.1.7.zip and say
OK to accept the download which is the portable/standalone version of krita
4.1.7.

Right-click it and Extract All, which will give you a folder of the same name.
Go into that folder to find a shortcut called 'krita' and run it. This will not
affect your existing krita installed version and krita will create a fresh
default kritarc configuration file, as you'll notice from the theme, etc.

If you can't make an animation using 4.1.7 like that, then there is something
wrong with your laptop configuration. I don't think it could be caused by the
display-tablet drivers, which I assume you've installed, but I don't know about
that subject.

If 4.1.7 does work like that with no problems, close it and delete the freshly
made 'kritarc' file then rename the 'kritarc-previous' file as 'kritarc' to get
back to your familar configuration. Try 4.1.7 again and if it doesn't work then
it's a strange krita configuration problem and you'll need to provide the
kritarc file as an attachmnent for a developer to have a look at.

If 4.1.7 does work with your original kritarc configuration file, then go to
https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/4.2.2/krita-x64-4.2.2.zip to accept and
download the krita 4.2.2 portable/standalone version and Extract it and use it
to see if that works, still with just the laptop mouse/trackpad.

Cannot reproduce with that version on Manjaro. The screenshot data comes from
the distro; if Kubuntu is still providing you with tiny screenshots, that's
something to bring up with them.

After trying to package Smb4K as flatpak, I have to admit that I give up. I was
not able to make Smb4K's flatpak invoke the mount command. And, at the moment,
I assume that the design of a flatpak won't allow that invocation. Sorry.

Closing for downstream. Generally you should file bugs about failed debug
installation to the distribution first as the installer itself is
distribution-specific tooling. If and only they find it to be not a bug in the
installer itself is it worth filing a bug in drkonqi about whatever is wrong
with drkonqi.

Assuming the original problem here really was an empty list of files this
should no longer happen. There is a guard in place to prevent showing the
install button when no libraries are detected as missing.

unable to parse and io-slave errors are (I think) totally separate issues. If
the "unable to parse" error is gone, I'd close this bug. I don't have time to
check right now if there are already any open bugs about the io-slave error,
but I know it has been discussed, although I don't recall any definitive
cause/solution. Separately - if the original problem was only with the
appimage and not the Ubuntu package, I would change the Platform label for the
bug.

On the io-slave, since it is specifially complaining about https, what versions
of openssh and openssl do you have installed. Perhaps there is a mismatch of
some sort between your versions and the versions used to compile the appimage?

SUMMARY
the 'Run Actions' extension crashes/freezes Falkon

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Compile the latest Falkon sources under Python 3.6 and Ubuntu Bionic 18.04.2
distribution (trivially, by reverting commits

d7dd0ac98e58237ab3f4ff5e6ea52681df69113c restoring Qt 5.9.5 compatibility)
2. Start Falkon and try to activate the 'Run Action' extension (in recent
commits addressed the b'b'b problem under Python 3)

OBSERVED RESULT
Falkon crashes/freezes as follows:
Falkon: Python plugin support initialized

Is this a packing issue?
Or should I report this to the devs of each app?

Git commit 99c87f4922cd994032405cc2a29d4c603e83e210 by Michael Pyne.
Committed on 04/07/2019 at 15:51.
Pushed by mpyne into branch 'master'.

sample-rc: Give the only anon module-set a name.

It is optional for module-sets to have names, but it's still a good idea
to *have* a name since kdesrc-build will try to provide you information
on which module-set a given module is being built from. If no name is
present then you'll get an ugly name for the set like
"Building qca from ".

As long as the user doesn't mind that's fine, but our base configuration
should set a higher standard.

This was the only anonymous module-set in the current base
configuration. Thanks to Laurent for the report.

[Falkon] [Bug 409496] New: need a way to disable ALL HMTL5 notifications completely (and expose any mechanisms for doing so)

2019-07-04 Thread Derrick G.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409496

Bug ID: 409496
Summary: need a way to disable ALL HMTL5 notifications
completely (and expose any mechanisms for doing so)
   Product: Falkon
   Version: 3.1.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: ddgaux+kde...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Currently the only ways I seem to be able to modify HTML notifications are A)
going into Preferences removing an individual choice for a given site that was
previously made when loading that site and B) attempting to set such a choice
when loading said site. However, in the case of the latter, the message that
only sometimes briefly appears at the top of the website viewport disappears
when I try to move the mouse pointer to it in order to Deny the website's
request (and to Remember the choice).

Most of the time, the decision area bar at the top of the screen (which seems
to appear in conjunction with some mysterious modal window with no content)
disappears in less than half a second before I can even move my mouse (so I
cannot even take a screenshot of it to attach here). The modal window with no
content does not disappear at this time. I decided to try to click somewhere in
the darkened modal window to see what happens, and this returns me to the
website I am loading, but it is not intuitive.

If there is a place somewhere in the file system in a config file where I can
manually block ALL such notifications, can you please tell me?

[plasmashell] [Bug 409498] New: plasma crash

2019-07-04 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409498

Bug ID: 409498
   Summary: plasma crash
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.16.2
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: kdeb...@blws.org
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.16.2)

Qt Version: 5.13.0
Frameworks Version: 5.59.0
Operating System: Linux 5.1.10-1-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Tumbleweed"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I had just logged in, had only opened a konsole window and typed because firefox had crashed on that user to a degree that I couldn't
recover from even by killing all the firefox instances. This happens constantly
lately. After that command I was going to go see if the User Management in Yast
had some way to fully logoff a user. I clicked the Application Launcher icon on
the default panel at the bottom of the screen and plasma crashed. While going
through the bug report I clicked it again in order to start my password manager
to login to bugs.kde and it did the same thing as soon as I clicked the
Application Launcher button. While writing this I have clicked on it a couple
more times and it HASN'T crashed plasma those times.

When I first logged in as root the software updates notifier popped up with an
error message.
"Update Error
The PackageKit daemon has crashed"

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 378953] Effect "Freeze" stops working after overlay

2019-07-04 Thread Edward
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378953

Ok, I downloaded the latest kdenlive-19.04.2f-x86_64.appimage and running it
straight off seems to work with freezing the video with an overlay ontop. Tried
both without anything in between, and a dissolve. Frame was frozen ok.

And I can see what you mean by the code has changed. At first I could not find
Freeze, but after clicking "Show All Filters" I found it. The transition also
looked different. However, my only problem with having JUST the AppImage is
that all the hundreds of other effects that I have in a previous version are
not listed. I suppose I'll have to insert a new repository link if I want to
update the installed version with this?

I can replicate this with amarok (and running with the fluxbox WM) by enabling
bluetooth headphones listening and then stopping the playback, disconnecting
the headphones (in blueman applet) I check that the output bluetooth device has
gone, so it all looks good. But if I then try to listen with wired headphones I
get the popup loop.

Bug ID: 409499
   Summary: Krunner returns empty item
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.16.2
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

empty item in results

SUMMARY
When I use krunner and search for certain string, empty / null item is among
results. It is always reproducible on one of my computers, but others work
fine. Sometimes this empty item is image, sometimes folder, sometimes video.
However it is consistent with search strings. Eg. when I search for "spo", it
is always image. When I search for "a", it is always archive, when I search for
"b" it is always video.

If I disable plugin "Desktop Search", empty items do not appear in results.

When I click empty item, I get error Malformed URL.

I understand this is weird issue. Is there anything I could use to add more
detailed information? Can I somehow call krunner query from console?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open krunner (I have Win key to open krunner)
2. Search for string spo

OBSERVED RESULT
Empty item appears. See attachment.

EXPECTED RESULT
No empty item.
