[dolphin] [Bug 409541] New: Sort by toolbar icon not changing properly

2019-07-05 Thread Gabriel Fernandes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409541

Bug ID: 409541
Summary: Sort by toolbar icon not changing properly
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 19.04.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: gabrielfer...@gmail.com
CC: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 121346
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=121346=edit
Zip file containing 3 screenshots about the problem

SUMMARY
When you set icons to individual sorting types, like an icon to sort by name,
another to sort by size, you can do this by changing the icon of the "name"
toolbar for example, the sort by toolbar icon gets changed when you use that
sorting type, if you use sort by size and you have set an icon to the "size"
toolbar the sort by toolbar icon gets the same icon, pretty neat, you can know
which sort mode you are on.
The problem is when you sort by another thing that doesn't have icon the last
icon used keeps, for example you were sorting by size (and it has a different
icon) and after it you change the sorting type to sort by Rating, the icon to
sort by size doesn't change, you may think you are still sorting by size. Which
makes me think it's a bug is when you close Dolphin and open it again it shows
the default icon of Sort By if the sorting type doesn't have icon, which could
happen immediately when you change to a sorting that doesn't have an icon.
Changing between sorting types that has icons works great, the icons are
changed immediately.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add Sort By toolbar
2. Add some sorting types toolbar to change its icons ("name", "size",
"modified")
3. Change the sorting type between the ones you changed the icon (the Sort By
toolbar icon will change to it too)
4. Change to a sort that doesn't have an icon, the last icon will stay (instead
of going back to default Sort By icon)
5. If you close and reopen Dolphin if the last sorting didn't have icon the
default will get used (could have happened without needing to restart the
application)

OBSERVED RESULT
When changing the sort type to one that does't have a different icon, the last
icon of Sort By toolbar doesn't get back to the default icon.

EXPECTED RESULT
When changing the sort type to one that does't have a different icon the Sort
By icon come back to the original one.

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 409540] New: inconsistent tabbing behavior in Save as... dialog

2019-07-05 Thread skierpage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409540

Bug ID: 409540
Summary: inconsistent tabbing behavior in Save as... dialog
   Product: frameworks-kio
   Version: 5.59.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Open/save dialogs
  Assignee: fa...@kde.org
  Reporter: skierp...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In the Save As... dialog of at least Spectacle and KWrite, the tab key advances
between widgets haphazardly, then after the Folder path field is focused it
gets "stuck" in three widgets.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Spectacle, take screenshot, click [Save As...].
2. Press until the Folder path field above the directory listing is
selected.
3. Now try to tab to the Name field.

OBSERVED RESULT
The tab field order is inconsistent. It starts in Name then File type - (skips
Automatically select filename extension) - Icon size control - Places - Save -
Cancel - Directory contents listing - Folder path field.

Once the focus has landed in the Folder path field, tabbing only advances among
the folder path, the directory contents listing and [Save]. It never jumps to
Name or File type or Automatically select or [Cancel]. It's as if there's a
second set of tab fields and once you drop into the smaller set you can only
get out by using the mouse.

EXPECTED RESULT
Tabbing between fields should consistently work. The tab order should in
general be right-to-left top-to-bottom, and you shouldn't get locked out of
certain fields. Maybe the Folder path field is special because it can be
"dirty" and not match the directory contents listing, but the behavior us
confusing.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0 (using xcb/X11)
Qt Version: 5.12.4

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I noticed this bug in Spectacle, but Kwrite seems to have the same bug, so I
assume the bug is in the framework.

Workaround: press to reveal the keyboard shortcut 'N' for Name.

Maybe the setFocusPolicy fix for inconsistent tabbing Bug 398275 in DrKonqi,
and related commit c695aa5a21a7 , applies?

[kalarm] [Bug 409538] New: Display alarms don't work, but command alarms do work

2019-07-05 Thread David Jarvie
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409538

Bug ID: 409538
Summary: Display alarms don't work, but command alarms do work
   Product: kalarm
   Version: 2.11.16
  Platform: Mint (Debian based)
   URL: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=229=161065
=14561f16894657f31191970140131294
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: djar...@kde.org
  Reporter: djar...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Reported in KAlarm forum:
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=229=161065=14561f16894657f31191970140131294

Command alarms work, but display alarms do not.

I create a simple message to pop up in a minute or two. When the time arrives
there is no message displayed but the entry is removed from the list as I think
might be expected. Also, when I click the "Try" button to test it, nothing
happens and no popup occurs. There is no error message.

When I logged on in a Plasma session. I got "all shell packages missing" but
the blank black desktop was quickly overlaid with three KAlarm test display
messages that I had created yesterday.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux Mint 19 Tara (based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS), Gnome

Then installed korganizer, plasma-workspace, kalarm (probably KDE Applications
17.12.3, KAlarm 2.11.16)

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE gives:
x11

echo $DESKTOP_SESSION gives:
xfce

yes, its prudent since reinstalling will not mess with your krita user's
configuration. Krita uses a default configuration if none exists, but if there
is one that is the one it will use.

Update. This seems to only affect my workspaces. In particular, the separating
boundaries on the elements are affected. Please see attached screenshot to
illustrate. Now, even when I reload my own workspaces, as you can see from
screenshot the boundaries have moved on both tools and palette. These are
supposed to be further down (so that you can see all of the tools without
having to scroll up & down constantly. This has to be reset constantly during
program usage. On each reboot, and every time the window scaling is touched,
even slightly moved. As I’m sure you can imagine, this is really annoying.

Fix extracting of some properties to match what was written

Summary:
Currently, one can write and read through taglib extractor and writer
plugins. Unfortunately, some "smart" transformation on the data are
applied when reading them. This does not allow to read exactly what was
written.

Test Plan: New automatic test is OK, no regressions.

Hi! Krita does remember workspaces, at least on the kritas Im using. So as an
idea could you reset your configuration options and see if the problem
persists? (how to reset config:
https://docs.krita.org/en/KritaFAQ.html#resetting-krita-configuration). It is
possible the configuration got corrupted somehow.

This was actually done by design but I don't agree with the choice. Should
either be an option to turn this behaviour on/off . Or open in a new tab if the
Command is not a local shell.

[krita] [Bug 409535] New: Unable to remember workspace last used on program exit

2019-07-05 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409535

Bug ID: 409535
Summary: Unable to remember workspace last used on program exit
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.2
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: lozmacdesi...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Unable to remember workspace last used on program exit. Additionally, if user
makes the program take up half the screen, this also breaks the scaling of the
workspace. Both result in having to choose unwanted workspace, then go back in
to choose preferred.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. choose any workspace
2. close program
3. reopen and the selected preferred workspace has reset and has to be manually
selected by choosing another then the preferred one again. This has been a
glitch for some time now.

OBSERVED RESULT
It has to be reset constantly each time you restart program and if you change
the scaling (make program half screen) it also has to be reset. Program thinks
it has done correctly so user has to chose an unwanted workspace first before
rechoosing their preferred workspace set up.

EXPECTED RESULT
Most vector and raster editors with workspace options that I have used so far
do not contain this glitch. Should be able to load up the last workspace used
on reboot automatically and making the program take up half screen should reset
the workspace again on full window resize.

Someone who can suggest a way to debug this? I was able to build everything and
log into a dev version of Plasma. I suppose it is difficult to use gdb in
there. Can I read logs somehow from that QML file or from the component?

I can confirm this is happening with KGlobalAccel at least, not sure of its
relationship (if any) to kxmlgui, but it's currently preventing me from making
shortcuts with Caps Lock after binding it to Hyper. I can confirm with xev that
Caps Lock is set to "Hyper_L" however.

[cantor] [Bug 409240] warning messages stop execution

2019-07-05 Thread avlas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409240

I was wondering if there is any progress on this issue.

Asking because there is a use case that I have identified that deviates from
regular python, IPython, etc.

It's about a code that removes columns from a panda dataframe:

- In regular python, a warning is displayed (only the first time) and columns
are removed. Invoking the same instruction again triggers an error because
these columns are present no more.

- In Cantor, the warning is treated as an error, so the columns are not
removed, and the user needs to run the instruction twice to get it done. After
that, invoking the instruction again fails as one would expect.

In this context, I think a Python user that is not aware of the issue will not
understand what is really going on under the hood.

More generally, I would encourage to treat all warning as messages to be
displayed in Cantor.

I think this would also be more consistent with Jupyter Notebooks (btw, I look
forward to trying the import/export functionality between notebooks and cantor
from the GSoC!).

Thanks for the reply!

The problem is that apparently some personal file is what is leading to the
corrupted index. I assume that's why more users aren't reporting this problem,
because it's something specific to our personal files.

2019-07-05 Thread Dominique Dumont
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405206

Hi

I've been testing kmymoney from 5.0 branch. The only change I've seen (although
I might be wrong) is ofx importer proposes a different account when is
present or not:
- with importer proposes "cartes de crédit"
- without , importer proposes main account

Unfortunately, the ofx importer ignores the target account choice and imports
data in the wrong (or right) account depending on whether is present
or not.

All the best

How do I do that? I tried removing "-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -Wnodev" from
cmake, but all I can get in the output is:

QObject::disconnect: Unexpected null parameter
KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = cantor path = /usr/bin pid = 13042
KCrash: Arguments: /usr/bin/cantor
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/drkonqi from

I was referring to the highlighted text. That text you mark using the
highlighter tool in Okular. Perhaps isn't called "highlighter" in english: the
tool you get pressing F6 and then 4. Sorry if I didn't explain myself better in
my first comment.

Since an image is word 1000 words, I'm attaching a screenshot of a real use
case. I hope it avoids misunderstantdengs. Thanks for you good will though.

force a token refresh before submitting the report

Summary:
when the user takes a very long time to prepare the bug report the original
login session may have timed out and prevent submitting the bug report.
as a super simple way to prevent this let's simply force a refresh.
we need to do a query to check validity anyway, so we might as well
force a refresh and get a new token right away.

this temporarily chains the login interfaces to the report interfaces, upon
successful login the report is sent. if any of the two throws an error
the page goes into error state which offers a retry button to run
aboutToShow again. therefore we also want to disconnect the signal chains
to avoid multiple slot invocations on possible retries.
FIXED-IN: 5.17.0
CHANGELOG: Login tokens get refreshed before submitting reports to prevent
unauthorized errors

Test Plan:
- file bug without any interruption all goody
- add `Bugzilla::connection().setToken(QString());` to simulate the token
having gone invalid -> continues to work
- disconnect network before submit causes a network unreachable login error ->
connect again -> retry -> submission succeeds

[krita] [Bug 409373] Krita crashes when Background and Layer 1 are present in Timeline box at the same time

2019-07-05 Thread Ahab Greybeard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409373

The kritarc file isn't very big so it's ok to attach it to a comment here. The
contents may (or may not) be useful for finding out what went wrong.

The next stage is to establish if your laptop has problems with 4.2.2 (or not)
and then if your tablet is giving problems. (You previously said that removing
the tablet still resulted in a problem but it may be that the presence of the
tablet sets up some kind of faulty configuration, either in krita or in your
operating system.)

Rename your current (fault giving) kritarc file as kritarc-faulty-A and attach
it to a comment here.

Still with no tablet attached, download the 4.2.2.zip portable version as noted
in my previous comment, do the extraction process as before, then run it from
inside the resulting folder. It will recreate a fresh kritarc file as you'll
notice.

You should be able to play/create an animation. If not, there is a strange
incompatibility between your laptop and krita 4.2.2. Either way, close krita
then make a copy of the kritarc file and rename the copy as kritarc-fresh-B,
keeping it for later if needed for examination.

If the 4.2.2 portable seems to be working well with no tablet, close down the
laptop, connect the display-tablet, power up the laptop and tablet, then run
the 4.2.2 portable again to see if all is still ok when using the stylus to
draw for an animation.

If adding the tablet and using the stylus causes problems then it's a difficult
situation so I hope it doesn't come to that.

[kio-extras] [Bug 409309] No .djvu thumbnails in Dolphin

2019-07-05 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409309

--- Comment #21 from toon.peperm...@hotmail.com ---
update: I tested the live .iso of Manjaro KDE and here .djvu thumbnails worked
out of the box; when I looked at the packages, djvulibre-bin (version 3.5.27-4)
was installed.
Then I downloaded the latest KDE Neon .iso but again no .djvu thumbnails here,
and no djvulibre-bin installed. Version 3.5.27.1-8 was present in the
repositories and when I installed it the thumbnails worked immediately after I
had restarted Dolphin.
So in my case only Manjaro works as expected.

I'm sorry. I tried to look if there's a patch for it already but I'm not really
familiar with the Phabricator interface so I must have missed it :/

I set the same reviewers as you did now. Thanks for the info.

1. Yes
2. Lenovo ideapad 510
3. Parblo Coast 10

I can make an animation and/ or play an animation by renaming the file to
"kritarc-previous" and then running 4.1.7. When I delete the new "kritarc" and
change "kritarc-previous" back to "kritarc" and run 4.1.7, it crashes after I
animate and/or when I play the animation after a few seconds.

Do I provide the kritarc file in this thread?
