[systemsettings] [Bug 410265] New: There are few bugs in association apps with file types. This bugs is present in every KDE I used from 3.0 to current stable release in Neon!!!
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410265 Bug ID: 410265 Summary: There are few bugs in association apps with file types. This bugs is present in every KDE I used from 3.0 to current stable release in Neon!!! Product: systemsettings Version: 5.16.3 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: kcm_filetypes Assignee: fa...@kde.org Reporter: szykc...@spoko.pl Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY There are few bugs in association apps with file types. This bugs is present in every KDE I used from 3.0 to current stable release in Neon!!! The bugs are: 1. When I install View Your Mind (or Umberello) it does not associate it self with *.vym files. 2. When you right click in Krusader and chose "open with" and then chose app and click "remember". It do something, then it open file in decent program, but don't remember file association in KDE (when I close program and try open the same file again). 3. When I enter "System Settings" (form KDE), and go to the "Programs" and add new file type (e.g. Application/*.vym) and chose application for this file (eg. View Your Mind), and click save. It do something, but KDE does not remember this file association. Instead when I click (in Krusader) on the file it open applications tree and (stupidly) ask for app selection, and suprisingly when I chose my app and click "Remember" it correctly remember associated app to file (it open correctly file this time and every next). This is strange as hell why such basic feature is so poorly supported in KDE?!? On Windows - which is lame due to lack file recognition by content - this feature always works as expected and newer fail!!! STEPS TO REPRODUCE As above. OBSERVED RESULT Failed to open file with associated app. EXPECTED RESULT 1. Open file with associated app: After app installation (eg. VYM or Umbrello). Run chosen app after click on file matched pattern extension. 2. Easy associate app with file type: Right click on file *.vym, chose "Open with", chose app from app tree (eg. "View Your Mind"), click "Save". Run chosen app after click on file matched pattern extension. 3. Advanced associate app with file type: In "System Settings", click "Programs" or "Applications" (depend on translation), click "File associations", click file group (on tree), click "Add", type extension, chose app from apps tree, click save. Run chosen app after click on file matched pattern extension. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.16.3 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.3 KDE Frameworks Version: ? Qt Version: ? ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I observe this problem in every KDE I used. I don't know why? Krusader do something wrong? If so: Why in System Settings, when I type file extension and chose app, and click save, then it can't open attached app to the file extension. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 410179] Plasma shell killed by OOM killer after few seconds of running
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410179 --- Comment #4 from Martin Ottmar --- It seems that the problem won't appear until I enable "PIM events plugin" in settings of digital clock applet. When I enable "PIM events plugin" option, there are missing calendars to choose at all in the side "tab", but at the moment, akonadiserver, mysql and akonadi_imap_resource_3(?!) start to exhaust CPU for a lot of minutes. And RAM allocated for plasmashell starts to grow slowly (cca 200kB per second?). And then, let's say, after cca 10minutes (probably just when akonadi_indexing_agent starts) the consumed memory skyrokets up to 2GB... If there is enough of free memory and OOM killer leaves plasmashell running, then CALDAV calendar events finally appear in the digital clock calendar, and akonadi stops draining CPU. This akonadi behaviour is new too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The vision to handle QStandardPath from KF5 team and Qt5 team is completely different. As i know this divergence is not yet resolved in source code. So to join dots, i write a shell script, which patch automatically QStandardPath call everywhere before to compile codes when we build MacOS PKG : https://cgit.kde.org/digikam.git/tree/project/bundles/macports/fixbundledatapath.sh Called here : https://cgit.kde.org/digikam.git/tree/project/bundles/macports/03-build-digikam.sh#n105 https://cgit.kde.org/digikam.git/tree/project/bundles/3rdparty/ext_kf5_frameworks/CMakeLists.txt#n128 https://cgit.kde.org/digikam.git/tree/project/bundles/3rdparty/ext_marble/CMakeLists.txt#n59 But i doubt that the problem come from this patch, else nothing will work properly, as the KXMLGui XML definition will not be loaded and GUI will appear without menu for example. I thinking more about a wrong path used to package icons in the bundle. The current limit on manjaro anyways is too small ~3MB (don't know what neon uses, couldn't find the info). It should be at least 15MB for today's needs for local images. [Akonadi] [Bug 404990] Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404990 --- Comment #17 from bwl --- gmail account is valid and integrates with KDE/akonadi on a parallel system (see below): Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20190723 KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.59.0 Qt Version: 5.13.0 Kernel Version: 5.2.1-1-pae OS Type: 32-bit Processors: 2 × Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz Memory: 1.9 GiB of RAM When initiated on this system (32-bit) a token was generated by google which replaced the password. With the new (64-bit) system no token is being offered by google. Google simply generates the message "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app This app has not yet been verified by Google in order to use Google sign in" Receiving status reads as "ready". Switching from Gmail authentication to PLAIN or LOGIN yields "Server is not available" The 64-bit system is a fresh install with no modification. Previous attempts made to resolve with older builds clearing the akonadi database etc. with no effect. Therefore new build. What (if any) further info can I supply to help resolve this? [digikam] [Bug 406583] Cannot write special characters (è, í, ó) in Tag search box
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406583 --- Comment #1 from IWBR --- Hey, sorry to be insistent, but can I bring some attention to this issue? I have narrowed it down, and it appears that letters with special characters cannot be written (they appear as plain letters é -> e) only when the autocomplete suggestion box when typing is present on screen. So let's say I have a tag called "María". If I start writing that name, it would appear as "Maria" (and nothing would come up). But if I start typing a non-existing tag, so the autocomplete box does not pop up, I can perfectly type something like "Waría" (and nothing would come up either, because it doesn't exist). That makes it harder to find tags with very common names. PS: Another option could be to be more permissive with search results, including accented letters even when searching non-accented ones (e.g. searching "maria" would show "maría, mària, märìa, etc.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 410272] New: Option to set brush size increments
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410272 Bug ID: 410272 Summary: Option to set brush size increments Product: krita Version: 4.2.3 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Usability Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: corne...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I would like to be able to use the hotkeys "[" and "]" to change the brush size by logarithmic increments e.g. every press doubles or halves the size of the brush. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT The current brush size increments are fixed values that change relative to the brush size to stay relevant. Bug 325295 relates to tweaking this, but for my painting process, though the hotkeys are the most convenient way to change the brush size (others being too imprecise, finicky or unpredictable) it is still so slow to cover the frequent large size changes I want to do. As a result, I find myself making lots of custom brush presets at every sensible size I need (16, 32, 64, 128, etc) for every brush I use frequently. As I create lots of unique brush presets and tweak them often, this multiplies the number of brushes I need to use and maintain, slowing me down and cluttering my brush preset panels. EXPECTED RESULT If only I could set a multiplication factor for the brush size increments so that pressing the hotkeys would eg double or halve the size of the brush. Then I wouldn't need to make size versions of all those brushes for fast use. In my opinion, implementing the brush size changes that way would give every user freedom of how fine the steps should be while keeping the whole thing very intuitive, simple, precise and predictable. At the very least, being able to set a multiplication factor for the size change increments as they are implemented now would be helpful. In that case, I could just speed up the changes so that every keypress would change the brush size by roughly a factor of 2. [frameworks-kconfig] [Bug 401042] kate doesn't remember size when resized on second monitor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401042 Maxwell Reid changed: What|Removed |Added CC||dicke...@outlook.com --- Comment #4 from Maxwell Reid --- I have tested this bug on my dual monitor system. I am seeing the exact same behaviour as shown in the video. Two colleagues of mine who also use KDE can confirm this bug also. This bug occurs with other KDE applications (such as Dolphin and Okular) too, not just Kate. In my case, my primary montior is to the right of my secondary monitor. This means that I have to move a window to my secondary monitor and resize it there before it will remember that size the next time I start it. This interrupts my workflow and makes the desktop unpleasant to work with. I switched the positions of my monitors in KDE's settings (the primary monitor is now to the left of the secondary monitor) and the behaviour is now reversed: window sizes are only remembered when changed on the primary (left) monitor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 410275] New: Tag list disappear when drag and dropping tag to top of the list
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410275 Bug ID: 410275 Summary: Tag list disappear when drag and dropping tag to top of the list Product: digikam Version: 6.2.0 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Tags-Keywords Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: iwannaber...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 121773 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=121773&action=edit Screen capture showing this bug SUMMARY The summary describes it. I have attached a screen capture so you can see this exact behavior. I particularly wanted to merge a duplicated tag, so I dragged the tag to the top of the list (where I wanted to drop it), and the tag list disappeared. This does not happen if the current tag list is short enough so all tags are visible on screen without scrolling up. It doesn't happen either if no term is used in the search box to restrict the number of results. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In the Tags panel, search for some word that contains lots of tags, in order to fill the tag list, so scrolling is needed. 2. Drag one of the tags from the bottom to the top of the list. OBSERVED RESULT The tag list disappears, before dropping the tag. EXPECTED RESULT Nothing should happen.
